I picked up some organic frozen vegetables- brocolli, corn, green beans, and peas. Got some recycled paper towels, too. And I recycled plastic and paper- I pulled a piece of paper out of the recycling bin to make my shopping list, actually, and this now reminds me that I need to put it back.^_^ I also kept turning off those lights in the empty exam rooms.

I recycled paper and plastic, and kept the lights off.^_^ I've also been wearing my jacket more, and piling on the covers rather than turning on the heater.

Today I took a plastic bottle home to recycle, since I'm not sure if my work recycles plastic.
Also, I usually take short showers every other day. Today I took a longer one but our house has been very cold.
I'm happy that we discovered that our city now allows food scraps and cardboard food containers (like pizza boxes etc.) can be thrown in the yard waste bins. I live in a house with several people, and we are trying to utilize this new service.
Unfortunately the smell is a problem, so a few days ago I snagged the empty costco size bucket of dishwasher detergent (has a lid and handle) from work to use as the food scraps compost container inside the house. We'll see how it works out.

We'll see how it works out. Hm, that's a really good idea! My grandmother used to compost, and I've thought of taking it up every now and then. I live in an apartment in a big city, though, so there isn't any place to put a compost heap and not much to do with the compost afterward... but let me know how your experiment works out and I may try it.^_^ Anything that reduces the amount of waste in the trash bin is a good thing. For today I don't expect to be going outside very much, so my main contribution will likely be The Keeping of Lights Low.^_~ Happy holidays to those who are celebrating! We're observing our "traditional" holiday of Mokuyoubi.

Today I recycled plastic and paper and kept lights low, and I also went outside for a bit and picked up trash around the hospital- recycling whatever I could salvage.
At the grocery store this evening, I picked up an organic salad mixture.^_^

Great job, everyone! So far I've just been keeping to the usual turn-the-lights-off thing.

O_o;; Yeah....I try to teach my little brother to love the environment....and yell at him when he does something that's not good for nature......but I never slap him.

Hey everyone- I've been involved in several projects this week and haven't been able to check in here! But I've still been doing my part- recycling, picking up trash, and keeping energy use as low as possible! We've done a few more humane society spays and neuters at work, as well.^_^

I tried turning the heat down but my mom found out and turned it up again so that my brother doesn't freeze.
I also recycled my water bottle for the week. (which I do every week)
sweatdrop It's such tiny things.
