Tonight I went to a free class the local master gardeners put together, I learned a lot about compost, and I hope I can put what I've learned to use soon!

Just got home from the hospital last night, spent 2 day's in the hospital for a real nice case of pneumonia that put me out of commission in under 48 hours from the first cough so i'm pretty beat down and tired right now. Just a reminder folks watch your health when the seasons change little things become big things really quick.

I literally started coughing saturday afternoon and was in the hospital by monday. Getting pumped full of fluids, antibiotics and steroids while they had me on an oxygen machine for about 24 hours. Time to spend some time recovering and napping.

I have been monitoring the quality of two streams in my area. It has been fun and interesting.

Soon I will be testing for organic compunds at the mouth of one of the streams. I am interested to see what I find.

Hi guys, been a while since I have posted in here! Been doing a lot of stuff this summer so far. It was fun. Yesterday I upgraded my laundry setup. I changed out my small laundry toilet plunger for a Breathing Mobile Washer and let me tell you IT WORKS WONDERFULLY! If you bucket wash your clothes it is awesome. I got it though Emergeny Essentials.

It shouldn't be! Was there sugar in the recipe? There should be sugar.

Here, I make this one, you can make it like it says and have a lot of fun, or use a different pan and not put in the hot dogs. I've had it plain too and it is still good. I'm no expert but I've had bad cornbread and this is much better than that. I bet that there is someone here who is an actual expert and has a better recipe. Someone from a corn-bread-eating place perhaps. But I've made this and it is very good.

How did it turn out?

I've been bumming around. Got some bird food for the jays. They squawk and cause a commotion if they know I'm home and no food outside. They're really friendly and will come and get the food when I'm within arms reach.

Guy at work had his car window smashed by a bear. It's that time of year. I hope with the good weather that they're able to find lots of food to hibernate.

Suppose to rain 30mm each day over the weekend and lots of rain all next week. I hope so and I hope the temperature drops so we get a decent snow pack started. Wet spring but the late summer and fall have been very dry.

I need to start prepping my outdoor pots. Next week, when it's not raining so much. ninja

Had my hair cut on Thursday. Super short. Fantastic. I still get bed head but at least I don't have to shampoo it each day.

Had chiro today and it was glorious. Drove down to Squamish and walked downtown and browsed the shops. I got some beautiful merino and alpaca wool, 20% off. I love making scarves and now feel more confident following patterns. Going to try and make this with the emerald green and leaf coloured yarn.

Found an adorable little tea store. I got 50g of the French blend. $5! Such a good deal. Boxed tea here is $6+ for 25g. Picked up a little jar of honey from this elderly couple at the Farmers' Market. Also picked up this beautiful kale from another farmer. He was very funny - explaining to us how his kale, picked the night before, is superior to the store bought kale. I love farmers.

I got some more grass for the cats.

I also did my work out plus ab ripper. I wasn't as sore as I though from my work out yesterday. I'm glad to be working out again.

I learned today while walking back home... That certain pine trees in my climate only last till 20-25 feet before they begin to die. Also bacteria in the ground that causes rot in trees and plants are increasing rate because we haven't been having as many freezing winters.

Over a week ago I did my first ever canning project. I canned apple juice! It was a lot of fun too. It was my first jump into canning, and with the apples I got from my parents for free it was cheap to try. I only did one quart of juice as a test, but you know it was a good experience.

Got some new birdseed and fed the birds today.

I did Shoulders & Arms today as well as Ab Ripper. Feeling a bit sore.

Had a WONDERFUL dinner at an amazing restaurant. I've been there before with a group at work, but boyfriend hasn't. Had amazing wine and some beautiful absinthe.

Snowed today. Such great colours - pure white, dark green of the pines, and yellow of the deciduous trees.

Also got a timer for my plant light for my aloha lily.
