(( Should be on for the next hour or two. So go for it. ))

Nodding, the imperfect angel opened the gate for them both. Raven and himself would be surrounded by the ethereal aura, the radiance of the gate drawing them in with a comforting yet overwhelming embrace. Light was still not fully used to the high amount of spiritual essence but he walked into it regardless. Patches of the forest remained as the pathway towards the gate drew them closer before all traces of the earthly realm faded away.

"For the longest of times I kept out of this war."
Light started off while the streets of Heaven started patching in to existence. "Heaven and Hell have always been at it but this third force entered the conflict. The Cruix they are called and they are very formidable. Hell is also growing in power by every moment. For us...well I suppose we're licking our wounds."

Before long he would be standing next to the gatekeepers. They looked Raven up and down, judging that she was not a celestial nor any of their familiar warriors. Perhaps they were still bitter about not knowing where their own soldiers were. They were stuck guarding the gate and could not go out to search for their comrades. Light however would purposefully neglect their glances.

"I can't do this alone. You're one of the few that I can rely on."
At a later place he would inform her that several people that he could also rely on were either not fighting for Heaven or were dead in some way. Tragic, really. Disregarding unfortunate, Light would anticipate teaming up with Raven. He had big plans and she would help him realize them. Behind every great man was a great woman or something like that.

"I understand. Matters are pressing when your back is to a wall. That is a lot of stress to deal with."

She eyed the gatekeepers, a forceful surge of familiarity overcoming her. Once upon a time it was her job. To stand watch--either unmoving or unrelenting when faced with an assault. It was clear from the looks of their faces that this War had already taken a toll on them. Lingering thoughts of worry, possible betrayal and worse, slipped in and out of their heads and into her own.

Raven flipped the braid over her shoulder, an offhanded excuse to break away from their glances. In time she would prove to them was a lot more stubborn. Her will was resolute; it had to be in order for her to survive as a Guardian.
"It appears as though sin is the new craze. We'll have to change that. I'm all for Heaven and still coming off as badass." She reached up over her head, twirling the left index digit around in a circle to indicate her imaginary Halo. Raven was by no means "good". Nor was she by any other means "bad". If anything, Raven was extremely neutral. Simultaneously to that, she was more for loyalties. She held a sense of integrity, and a deeper virtues that Hell could never sate for her.

"You're strong, Light. I know you to be very clever and very powerful. I'm not sure how soon, or how well we can turn this around, but it will happen at some point. Tell me more."
The woman was genuinely curious to know what all happened outside her familiar Earthly realm.

"Hah, you would know, I am no saint either."
Light looked back to wink at her with a chuckle, seeing her finger come down from tracing her halo. To add to the magic of it, Light put his fingers up at the side of his head like demon horns and stick his tongue out with a hiss.

The guards muttered something and went back to their duties, probably disturbed at what they just saw. He would then listen to Raven, smiling still as he complimented him before she asked questions. He would lead her to some nearby hills which were separated from their current position in the city. Light wasn't sure how secure his own room would be as he was put into an important position.

From here the skyline could barely be seen. A sun of sorts was floating slowly by in the clouded sky, a patch of shade creeping over the two. Light would take the time to sit down, offering a nice patch of grass for Raven to do the same.

"The Cruix aren't all what they appear to be. Naturally there's always another side to large cults and organizations like that. Heaven and Hell genuinely want peace...every God needs it's Devil. The Cruix can afford to get rid of whoever they want. I regret to say that at least two of my closer friends are involved."

Light glanced to Raven, his electric blue eyes meeting with her gaze. "I'm not here to save anyone. I tried that before. I may be an angel but I was never fit to protect. Conflict seems to run through our blood."

The angel looked up to the skies, leaning back in thought. He would continue sharing his mind with Raven, comfortable that he was able to talk with someone close to him again. It had been a while since he was able to talk with someone like this.
"You know I never really got along with Celestials aside from one other. Don't you think it's strange? To fight for people I don't connect with against people I care about?"

{Garakon-The Last Soul Demon}

The next morning had Dawned and indeed the humans had won for now. Little did they know that was merely a preemptive attack. Garakons army had assembled. It was broken into four groups. 75 Demons to a lieutenant. The remainder would be those ten necromantics from the day earlier and their minons. These would go with Garakon. As well as a few summoners. Two of the groups would hit the walls where the golems had knocked massive holes in the walls for a main event. Garakon's group was going to head for the main gates, while the final group would go through the rear gates. The humans had put up small palisades (wooden fences basically) to cover the holes untill they could organize for properly rebuilding. The group from the rear served two purposes. The huans would not be able to escape from there, and two this gave the demons more angles for entrance and surrounding the defenders.

Garakon figured the humans would split up sending a group or two out to flank the groups attacking the walls. Their most likely route would be through the front gates. Garakon's group would intercept this. The women and children where the real targets though. As the women and children where a source of more demons. The group in the back would capture them as they try to flee. In any case that actually occured this was Garakons deployment of forces. When Garakon arried in his area the two primary groups where charging wooting and hollering across the field to the palisades. The humans forces where indeed gathering and quickly organizing to fight off this new force.

Garakon walked down the center of the road heading toward the gates. Something in the air caught his attention,
"ARROWS" he yelled jumping back about ten feet. A few hundred had fallen where he was just standing. How did the humans have that many combatants? He stared at the gates , the women and children where armored lightly and wielding the weapons. His eyes glowered behind his armor plates. The men must have gone out the back side which meant his group in the rear was hard pressed. Indeed their was an intense combat breaking out in the back.

Garakon charged purple enegy along his arms. He wasn't wiling to use too much so he would gain the attention of the higher demons as someone who truly had mch more power. He put his arms forward sending purple beams at the gates. The first slammed the wal exploding and the second hit the right tower also explosing. The defenders held on for dear life as massive holes where ripped into the two locations. The wall segment gave way and women and children on top fell either to their graes or into a dire situation. The tower collapsed but was not scalable. He charged with his minions behind him charging as well. They started imediately as the soul bolts where thrown. The women and children not being used to combat where stunned and when they looked back had fear grow as the whole group had covered three quarters of the approach zone.Arrows began to fly again and Garakon had his sword free. He Slashed the arrows away and scaled the walls. The massive demon was far more than an opponent than any of these children and women had ever begun to experience. He made all his blows to knock them unconscious or render them helpless but not kill them. His minions attempted the same and collected them into a few houses now designated as prisons.

Once the walls where finally taken Garakon ordered the men to maintain holding the now small ary of prisoners and he would go to single handedly flank the army of defenders.

Raven sank into the grass. Though it looked familiar and felt familiar, the intensity of the energy that filled this realm made it feel strange and foreign. She slipped the right leg under the arched right, the palms of her gloved hands leaning back into the ground, the scythe a mere inch away. Her pupils dilated in the shade, and Raven took a moment to observe where they were as they spoke. The cloak of Grey seemed to twitch and shudder before settling comfortably.

"I never believed anyone was born good, or born evil. We were born the same and given the choice to choose. I think its always been about choice. Always a cycle. It's our job to keep the cycle going. Constantly loosing lives, we must equally return the favor. A dish is not complete if the tastes always conflict. There should be a balance in there, somewhere. Such is the flavor of Life."

Raven sighed lightly, tilting her head back as she reflected. She could feel it in her mind. It, like so many other things, was familiar to her. Feeling as though this cycle of events would continue for her until the end of her existence, Raven tilted her head to peer at Light, "Spice, spice, spice, Light! When you float around in the same pot with spices so close to your own, I cannot blame you for wanting to be complimented other other, different spices, so drastically different from yourself. We cannot save everyone, I think we've both learned that in an extremely hard way."

This time the woman leaned off her hands, her left leg pressed to the ground, opposite of her right as her knees bent. She leaned her elbows along her knees, gloved hands lacing together as she pressed her lips against them. Watching the ground, Raven reflected to choose her words carefully, "However...we can work to rebuild from what you have now. You made choices; people chose to die, chose to take another side. You chose to be here. I know what it feels like not to be attached; it is my choice not to be attached."

Raven laughed at how true it was. From being trained not to be attached, to being so attached she was fairly sure it was borderline obsessive, "You cannot save people. People can only save themselves. They just need the right guidance and leadership. I don't believe anyone should expect you to swoop down and rescue everyone. Just lead them in the right direction so they can begin to save themselves and fight for what they choose."

"Your strength is matched by your wisdom, dear. You are right."

The angel held up his hand to cradle something not there. It was the past; his thoughts trailing back to distant memories. He thought back to how different things were then to what they were now. In all honesty the only thing he truly saw different was himself.

Light lowered his hand and stared off towards the distance, a much larger city in view before him. The gate that they entered was on the outskirts of one of the larger cities.
"I'm afraid we won't have much time to rest. As I am now I won't be much use to anyone. Hell has some powerful entities and they are regathering their forces. I would suggest you learn as much as you can about Chaos energy, Hell's fire, Hell's ice, and Demonic spells. As far as the Cruix go...well, we'll worry about that later. I would suggest now to work on your tactical skills just as I need to. In fact, I have some new things to try out. I've dedicated my time to strengthening my ability with only the light but that won't be enough."

The angel glanced back, spotting some valleys and other hills. Soon, Light thought it would be wise to start training.

User Image OOC: Sorry I'm going to withdraw to Earth considering I got dusted.
BIC: Takehitsu walked inside his fortress. Indeed many powers had shifted. This was nothing to powerul to concern him yet. He had his sign though. Inferno, was not dead. That's what his gut instinct told him. Most of the others had no idea but Takehitsu was not alike to others. He stuck to facts. Fact, Inferno's body was never recovered. Not that his body could have been found knowing who it was. Takehitsu had faith however in his old friend.

Raven was unsure if it was due to her connection to the Elements, or if it was the mother-like instinct she was always aware of. Something felt different; she was not sure whether it was due to the amount of energy in this realm clouding her natural senses, or if it was merely too far away to tell. She was far too used to keeping mental tabs of those close to her. A Guardian's habits never died.

"If there's one thing I can appreciate and simultaneously loathe, it's having to learn something extremely complex. Of all the times I've studied my fellow A.V.G., I don't think I've ever encountered anything close to Chaos energy. I wonder if that is something Corvus would specialize in..."
Raven felt a sudden moment of despair. What would happen if Corvus chose to force her way into Hell's clutches? She was not evil, but ran on instinct and lust as though they were gas to sustain her. Would she instead have to turn to Vineera?

Vineera...Raven comprised of what was thought to be only one soul. But the toll of working for OXY had forced the mindset to transform itself into its own entity, Corvus Korbin Corax. The influence of what was known as the Chaos Crystal was familiar with her. It was the depth of Raveena's will that allowed the Crystal's energy to be harnessed for better things. But it was a parasite. A leech, and she was but a Host to it. Without it, there was Vineera, the newest entity to manifest from Raven. It was a glimpse at what should have been to begin with, and what was now possible: A soul free to to its own bidding, outside the Crystal's influence.

"I will study. Live it and breathe it, if I must. Secondary Elementals and Complimentary ones will be fun to experiment with, anyway."
Raven dismissed her worries and concerns. For now, her choice remained here. She was needed, and for that, she would not disappoint.

An stood by himself, pondering the implications of Light's actions... From what An had heard- and he could certainly hear a lot- Light was no being harbored under Heaven, though An wasn't quite sure for what. It seemed that Light now had some amount of power over Heaven, though An couldn't measure how much exactly- as the war raged on, it became increasingly more difficult to spy on members of Heaven, Hell, or even Cruix.

With a sigh, he walked forwards. He knew he had to prepare- his path would certainly lead him to newer, more powerful opponents- opponents that An wasn't entirely sure he could beat. For now, An had to train himself- for too long he had simply relied on past tactics. But now that Heaven seemed to have Light, An knew that he had to adapt, because his friend- from the past and even now- knew a great deal about what An was capable of.

Inhaling slightly, An walked up to the side of a cliff face, located near a large body of water. Long years of ebb and flow had worn the face to a nondescript smoothness, giving it a sort of mysterious anonymity. Placing a hand on the stone, An began to concentrate- it had been a long time since he had had to exercise his powers. Now, he was about to try something completely new to him, though, in theory, he knew how the mechanics would work.

Letting his energy seep out for just a moment- he did not wish to be found by anyone at the moment- An inserted his energy into the rock. The energy shot out through the molecules of the rock- then, all of a sudden, there was a sudden shill, a sudden crack, and suddenly a great deal of the cliff-side now collapsing.

Stepping backwards, An watched as the dust settled. By using the energy he had injected, An had vacated the entire targeted area of all of its energy- for just a split second, absolute zero was reached. Then, releasing his hold, all the energy rushed back into the vacuum, pulling with it a great deal of matter. Piles of sand and gallons of water had even been sucked into the vacuum.

Flexing his fingers, An observed his handiwork with his head tilted to the side. Of course, this was much smaller scale than would be useful in a battle- however, An knew that if he continued to practice, he could increase its range.

But now was not the time. Events were quickly approaching, and it would soon be time for the leaders of Cruix to begin to turn the wheels of armageddon...

User Image As Garakon moved through the almost abandoned city he came to realize why the women and children had stepped up the defences. This city was awkwardly days away from any village town or other signs of human life. Thus a retreat for the family memebers would be almost pointless. They would likely have been overrun and destroyed by something else. This also told him why the women and children actually put up a bit of a fight. They where used to fighting orcs and other nonchalants. However they where not ready or something of Garakon's caliber. Hell and Heaven where not either as they had both basically forgotten about his race. This pleased him greatly.

He came upon the scene of the closer palisade to where he had entered the city. Here he would use his last two elements of power within this battle. Granted he had already used a lot but he was still within his power limit for the rank he currently held. He dropped to a knee slammed an open palm into the ground. To his sides about two paces ahead two five point star summoning circles appeared. From the came the two Reaper class undead guards he had left at the gates of Kikyo's castle. These instantly charged to either side. Directly in front of the yet to notice Garakon and his two minions was a line of busy human men ferrying spears, arrows, and stones up the palisade and walls to where there where footmen and archers throwing them at the demons. The two Reapers slammed into the lines and started hacking away thedeenceless men causing some choas. Garakon charged shortly after having a purple energy cackle about him. This energy increased his strength to a godlike status. With a single swing of a single arm that held his famous katana he sent all ten o the humans in front of him flying like he had thrown ragdolls with a baseball bat. A ew more steps and he shoulder slammed the palisade sending the entire thing in pieces out like it had never been put there in the first place and was built of toothpicks.

His demons hesitated then charged in bringing the real battle about. The humans by now where gathering a large contingent, on the inside, of fully armored soldiers. However it was about five of them was worth one Kilo demon. Garakon slid outside the walls and ran as fast as his massive hulking armored form could move. He got to the group of demons on the other side who where all holding rocks and large slabs of wood above them for defence against the arrows and such. Garakon waded through them and slashed through the second palisade. The energy cackled o his arm in the air directly in front of him. This told him his time had run out since he was limiting his power significantly to hide himself. He charged the stunned humans slashed and barelled through them now charging off to the back gate. He had a group needing rescuing, if they where still alive.

Roy was taken by surprise to see not only Oni still alive, but walking! He began to panic and take a step back shaking in fear. Suddenly Oni appeared in front of Roy and slammed some orb into Roy's chest. Roy was sent flying back wards crashing hard into the ground just before a bolt of lightning hit him and created a cloud of dust and smoke with a thunderous boom. When everything was said and done and everything clear up, Roy was shown laying there with blue static around him. He would twitch every now and then but other than that. He was out cold...

"Excellent."
Standing now, Light decided it was time to get a move on. He'd look to Raven, nodding with confidence; A victory wasn't always decided in the heat of battle but from the time spent preparing for it. He knew with Raven by his side that victory was that much more possible. However now was indeed the time to prepare.

Turning towards the smaller outpost, the imperfect angel began to walk on.
"Those elements won't be the only thing you'll be living and breathing with though. From now on we'll be acting together as one until I recruit more warriors. Heaven's forces were divided greatly...we can't afford to have that happen again. Synchronizing our minds, spirits, and bodies will not only help us in battle but when a crucial decision needs to be made there will be no hesitation."
He spoke as if he could already see the fate of the celestials...perhaps he did. Perhaps he had already experienced it.

Nodding curtly, Raven stood to brush herself off. It would have taken more effort had she not used the weight of her armor to her advantage. Her cardinal Element, water, was always one for adapting. Raven herself was very apt to readjusting herself to her surroundings accordingly. It is why she succeeded as a spy where her Uncle Calutika before her had failed. Fluidly, the woman ascended to her feet. The cloak of Gray twitched before shuddering and expanding outwards. The eight foot wingspan allowed the hollowed bones to stretch and creak, sinew flexing and relaxing. It was highly unusual for Raven to call upon use of this. But the Seal had been broken and recast, and this the outcome. Willing them as naturally as any other limb, the wings settled, appearing to drape around her form once more.

"How will this be done?"

Raven was already planning on finding a way to alert Roan. An angry Roan always meant people ended up dead. She trailed after Light, when a subtle brush at her legs triggered her instant reaction to glare down. Jesta' prowled silently at her right, and seemed more lifelike than she had in the Earthly realm. Already Raven could feel the mental connection opening up like a Dam. Voices slipped in and out of her mind, the frequent thoughts of those around her, creating its own white noise inside her head.

Often it annoyed Raven, and she had long-since trained with Roan to control how much traffic came and went. But she felt it necessary, and perhaps this time around it would be more useful. Each thought had a tone to it that made it easier to identify. With the proper amount of concentration, it could be used to anticipate an enemy move. Unfortunately, Raven could barely reign in her Psychokinetic abilities.

User ImageAs Roy laid unconscious with the occasional twitch Oni would begin to move towards him as his slowly shifted back to his normal form. His calm and rational mind had taken control once again. He was worn and torn, but overall still in one piece. He could heal himself by summoning Nishi and Asa once more and heal himself but now was not the time to waste such precious energy. Kneeling down beside Roy, Oni would lift him up onto his shoulder and begin walking back towards Hell and what was soon to be known as his fortress.

Spirit you can unmerge with me and return home now. I will be fine now.

-No Oni, I will not leave you until you are safe within the fortress walls once more. You have lost too much energy to summon another spirit and if I leave you, you are liable to fall unconsious.-

Thank you my friend. I don't know what I would do without you.

Oni's stride was slow, but steady he would make it to Kikyo's Fortress within a few hours and from there would send a message out to Kestral and the rest of Hell's enlisted warriors. He was already planning on reshaping Hell's army and bringing in some new blood.
