I have one borrowed trumpet. this is because it is to much money and the school still lets me borrow it. I'll have to get on for the summer though because i'm going to HS and I'm goin to continue playing.

Totally worth it! I have three trumpets, an old brass beat-me-up one, a newer brass one, and a silver one. Not one of them is brand new, and I have to share with my mother...I can't wait to get a new one all to myself.

I have my professional silver one....
that has a good couple dents in it LOL...
But I have 3 mouthpieces--one silver 3c, one silver 7c, and one blue plastic 3c.
Does that count? sweatdrop

If I win the competition I'm in this summer, I'll get a sexy new Getzen field trumpet, no valves, total lip control *drool*

But I stillz got my second (most likely 4th) hand trumpets, good old Eterna (original getzen-severenson, you're jealous) and s**t-tastic old Ambassador.

I currently have 2 trumpets. One old beat up one I use for Marching Band, and my pretty intermediate black one I use for concerts and such.

Who makes black ones, like what company. I was jsut wondering because I like Bach, and i have always wanted a black trumpet.

I play my school trumpet which is really ugly but I still love it, my school mouth piece has chunks of it literally taken out, and I have my mouth piece which is pretty! heart Both 7c.

I have destroyed my mouth piece...it has chunks taken out of it as well. But I don't want a new one becauase I am so used to this one and have had it for 4 years now ^_^ I am scared if i get a new one it'll take me a little while to get used to it. I was also offered a new Trumpett...a Yamaha, but I have taken really good care of my Bach and don't want a nother one for the same reason >_<

So then, what trumpet is better, a Bach or a Yamaha?

'cause I've had my silver trumpet (it's some random brand, and I've been told that it's a cheap trumpet, even though we were originally told it wasn't) for a little over four years now, and it's getting to the point where I'm better off getting a new one.

My mom and I have been looking at trumpets on Ebay (we actually know what we're looking for now), and we've been looking at the Bach 200, and recently my mom started looking into the Stradivarius (though we're not all that sure what kind would be best to get; apparently, different numbers have different types of sounds).

This trumpet will be used for my senior year of high school, as well as for any band-related courses in college, or anything else I do from here on out, likely. We're trying to find a good brand, but advice is always good. I'd rather not buy something, just to find out that I could have gotten something better for around the same price (though I know that Bachs and such are good trumpets).

We're aiming for around $500 at the most, I think. At least, my mom was looking at a Bach 200, practically new, for around that, even though she wasn't sure how much she really wanted to spend.

Anyone got any suggestions?

I agree with her, I have a brass Back Trumpet, I have had it for three years and it's never let me down. Plus my friend, who has been playing the trumpet and many other instruments for a long time, just bought a silver brand new one, and he says it's the best sounding trumpet he has ever owned, and he has owned many and currently has three, all different brands (A yamaha, a back, and an unknown). So I say Bach as well ^_^
