Protean's Sonic Howl would've no doubt made a lot of pain for little ol' Taliman. If it connected. Yet, what he saw was only an empty space and behind that a 4o foot wide circular hole in the hole, the result of Protean's howling attack. Which made his eyes widened in more than a little shock. s**t!
Sensing a sudden rush of energy, the werewolf looked up just in time to see a purple wave of energy coming right at him. It was coming so fast, Protean would've more than likely be cut in half. If he didn't use the Wind Runner.
In one instant, Protean was no longer there. It was a somewhat weaker version of Shunkido, yet no ki was needed to perform it. Instead, the way it worked was that Protean's body was able to enter a state of hyper metabolism, meaing that his body would be able to move unbelievabley fast, at the cost of an amount of his body's energy.
The next second Protean was once again standing about 50 feet away from where he once was, watching the whip like attack carve a path into the ground. It looked like Taliman had decided to take things even further. The werewolf really didn't like the idea of being murdered. If the fox demon wanted to get more serious than so would he.
Growling and glaring up at the floating fox demon with a feral hatred, Protean suddenly through his head back and unleashed a long and almost mournful howl. It was then that the atmosphere suddenly seemed to cool drastically. One by one and then in larger groups, wolves began to appear and step from the shadows. Each of them looked to be normal, living wolves. Yet, that was easily refuted to one that had the right senses. Each and every one of them looked up and glared at Taliman with the same rage that Protean possessed. It was then that their true forms were made known.
These were not living wolves at all, but spirits to be more accurate. Their bodies suddenly seemed to change into bodies of living white flame and fog which immediately took to the air and surrounded Taliman in a swarm of ghosts.
Protean knew that they were not capable of inflicting physical damage, but they did have their uses and special abilities. In the mean time, Taliman would hopefully be distracted enough for him to catch his breath.
Not all the wolf spirits were content with simply being a distraction. Some, about 15, actually made many attempts to charge right into Taliman's body. They came from all sides, including up and down and side to side, even diagnoally. Being intangable, they would simply pass through and cause no real physical harm. Not like cuts or bruises anyway. They would howver steal a portion of their targets strength, vitality, and stamina each time they penetrated his body. Normal blocking would do no good at all, and ki wasn't bound to be as effective either, since their bodies were completely ethereal.

((XD And by that you mean, you and me I think. Tryph didn't show up until after that whole Fenrir/Teranika dealie. Which was very fun to do, I might add. I'm actually considering replacing Spectre Mode with Fenrir for the tournament. Since a lot of the fighters can blow up planets and such.))
