Athena stared at Ialo, without inhibitions, not wanting to comprehend what he was saying. Danni was not dead. She would prove that herself. Danni, sweet Danni, was not dead.
A tear ran down her face like an escaped convict from prison.

Night sighed and walked up too cook placing a hand on his shoulder he leaned up as close as he could to the behemoths ear and whisper, "There's always hope," before taking a walk up to where they were holding the speeches. waiting until Ialo was done.
"Non of you know me, at least not by who I am now, my name is jackal, better known as night, the creepy specter that struggled to keep up with Danni. I'm able to be here in front of you all thanks to her, and I plan to repay the favor to her someday. I'd love to say that I knew about Danni and how she was, but then I'd be lying. However from what I saw in her I can tell you that what many of you saw wasn't even a glimpse into who Danni really was." He stopped speaking as he broke into his dark creepy chuckle that echoed in the silence of the crowd. "hehe I'm sorry, but I'm just thinking of what she would do to me if she caught me saying nice things about her. So I'm going to stop before I get into any more trouble ... later" With that he walked off the stand. ---------------------------------- Kai sighed as he stood on the opposite side of the pit. "Damn brat giving all the credit to Danni" he whispered with a smirk

"You see? This is why humans these days cannot be trusted." "Hmm." "I set them in the right direction, and where do they end up? Murdering each other for the pressurized liquid remains of long dead animals, shooting each other in the streets without reason, threatening nuclear apocalypse to get their way." "Hmm." "Ialo however, he is different. I just hope he does not go astray like his peers, if he follows my teachings he will be a shining example of what all people can be." "But why him, why not me? What the hell did he ever-" "Shut your mouth, now." "But I don't see why-" "Look you insolent little s**t, I may be weakened but I am still easily capable of tearing your throat out." "Hmph. I hardly believe that even you could do that to your-" Riser's right arm shot forward, grasping his companion by the throat and hauling his feet far away from the ground they so relied on. He began to squeeze slowly, and the companions eyes began to bulge; and then, he dropped him with a heavy thud to the forest floor. The young man stood up, coughing viciously. "Alright...point taken."

Adolf, whatever he had expected, did not foresee walking out of the forest to see a very solemn, somber scene such as this. It was easily obvious to one as old as him that this was a death, even without the coffin giving him a dead glare at the center of the sober ceremony. He immediately felt out of place; he was wearing a travel suit for starters (though this particular funeral seemed to be quite informal as it was) and he hadn't the slightest clue who had died.
This was not how he liked to be, and he quickly hid himself back in the forest, deciding to wait until it was finished so as to not be disrespectful for the mourning or the dead by intruding. As he did so, he noticed Athena in the background. He almost didn't recognize her; not only had he forgotten that she'd gone through her final transformation since the last time he'd been able to visit her, but her expression, her demeanor... it was so unlike the happy little girl he knew that it was almost unbelievable. His heart tightened; she had probably made a friend in whoever had died. He knew how that felt... it wasn't a good feeling.

When Night stepped down, Ambrose laid an absent hand on Lin's shoulder for a moment, squeezing it once before maneuvering through the crowd, making his way to the center of things, so he stood beside the dark, abysmal hole in the ground, with the white lily lying in the bottom.
Clearing his throat, he looked at the crowd, at those he knew, those he didn't. And looking at them, seeing the confusion on some people's faces as they looked at the casket while thinking of the girl they'd all known, seeing that he found the words that had escaped him moments ago.
"My name is Ambrose, and I'm Danni's older brother. Just a little while ago, Ialo took...responsibility for my baby sister's death. But...he's wrong. The blame, at least part of it, has to be shouldered to me. I grew up on a private island with my sisters, and I knew...My Izzy was a girl who needed the gestures, the words. Even a loving glance would've done it for her, but she needed the little signs to keep her going. And after a while, no one was willing to give them to her. So that's my fault. I knew the words, and I knew her, at least to a point. Yet still I didn't say them, not nearly enough, and so she didn't know."
He shrugged, fingered the orb in his pocket. "But I did know some things about her, things other wouldn't expect out of her, things people didn't want to expect from her. She loved...loved a bit of romance. She'd scoff over it, sure, but she was the stars-in-her-eyes, heart-just-sighed kind of girl when she let herself be. And she wanted that...She wanted someone, just one person, to accept her completely for what she was. I saw that, I knew that, but I wasn't willing to dig deep enough, to persist long enough, so that I found out everything, so that I knew just what made her the Izzy she'd come to be.
"She didn't have a cold heart, just a guarded one. And she sighed over...nature's beauty. She was a sucker for a falling star, or the loves-me-not flower thing...I thought of that, earlier today. Earlier today I was thinking of her, as I should've been before. I was looking out the window at one of the most beautiful things I'd seen in many a year and I thought 'Why, little Izzy would just cry her eyes out if she saw this,' and I wanted to give that to her, that little miracle in the middle of nowhere. So, I bottled it." He took out the orb, where it glowed and the fragile beauty of the elven forest rotated for all to see, pathetically fragile and innocent.
"I captured it, that one moment she'd have loved to see, and I was going to bring it back for her...I wanted to see her smile...She'd never really smiled lately, not the way I wanted her to, the way I knew she could...But I didn't leave right away. Instead I stayed another few hours, delaying, and in those few hours, she was gone. And now she'll never see this, never smile the way I wanted to see her smile..." He trailed for a moment, but then found he could still continue on.
"She's just...sleeping now, forever sleeping. And wherever she is, I'm praying to every God I know that she'll finally have her falling stars and have her love-me-not flower end on he-loves-me. Wherever she is, she deserves to have those stars in her eyes, feel her heart sigh...I hope she has the fields she loved to run through, the trees she loved to climb. I hope she has her blue sky, the one she used to toss her head back to look at as she laughed. I hope she finally has those wings she always imagined she would have so she can fly, just...fly. She always loved grinning into the wind and reaching for the clouds. And if she has that now in death, all of that, the way she should have in life...Then maybe, just maybe I'll find I can get up in the morning and do something besides ask myself why." He said nothing more, merely stepped down, then bent to leave the orb attached to the leather cord beside the gravestone, an endlessly rotating little miracle, never to be seen by the one who'd been meant to possess it.

"I'm sorry," Ophiuchus whispered to the yokai. "I should have warned you about the funeral. Now isn't the best time to visit, but I didn't want to send you back if you had come from very far away."
He watched the funeral from the forest along with Adolf. "Athena and Danni were good friends. Perhaps you can help her cope."
Ophiuchus was secretly a little proud of everyone. Death was never a particular favorite milestone in life, but... dealing with death often made people stronger. Privately, he wondered if this was the first time Ialo had ever bared his true emotions in public.

Adolf paused for a moment before looking back at Ophiuchus. He nodded, the ghost of a smile whispering across his face. "It is alright." He glanced at Athena. "She is a strong girl." He didn't say much else.

Lin had been listening to everyone speak. Truth be told, the Danni they were talking about didn't seem like the Danni she had met. Of course, that past Friday, Danni had helped her into Professor Leaton's class when she had been late and had even defended her tardiness so that she wouldn't get in trouble. She still did not know why Danni had done that.
Of course, on the other side of things, that same morning, Danni had caught her and Dymetri in the cafeteria that and had been very rude. It was quite confusing, but she didn't want to think about that anymore. Just remembering earlier that Friday made her think of the time she spent with Dymetri. Not long ago, she had been with Dymetri. She had talked with him, kissed him, was in his arms. And now, just a couple days later...
Lin winced as she felt a very painful twinge in her chest. She reached her hand up automatically to rub her breastbone where the pain seemed to originate from, but then her fingers brushed against the outline of her broken pendant beneath her dress. That had to be why she felt the pain in her chest. She wouldn't get sick or anything, but she'd be quite a bit weaker until she got another pendant of her home's magical spring water to wear. That had to be it, and not because she was thinking about Dymetri.
Because Dymetri was coming back. Dymetri was going to be revived. She was certain about that.

Night peered at Ambrose and then towards everyone else who spoke, he ever imagined peering at himself. With a bored frown on his face he became translucent and took a few steps back until he passed through the crowd behind him and out the other side. " so everyone is to blame Other then the ones that drove her insane and abducted her soul? Humanity is such a nuisance when you see it through the eyes of something else." He gave a chuckle, and bent to the ground as his body faded into nothing but a shadow.
Kai was having similar feeling as Night, resting on his knees waiting as the guilt poured out of everyone like rain in a hurricane. "ugh this makes me feel more depressed then those stupid donation commercials." He complained getting back on his feet stuffing his hands into his trench coat's pockets.

Stepping from the woods, Riser slowly and solemnly approached the service. He was there because Ialo was; he had not known this girl, and therefore owed her no regret. He stepped up behind him, tapping him ever so slightly on the shoulder. "Uhm...my powers have taken a turn for the...unexpected." He stood adorned in golden armor, glinting slightly in the light. Over his right shoulder was a long white cloak of the finest silks money could buy. In his left hand he held a mighty spear, one from a distinctly different era. "From what I can tell...I'm beginning to shift back and forth between my prior forms at random. I suppose you could call me Ulysses right now, or Odysseus, whichever you prefer." There was a pained expression on his face, one of anger and confusion and frustration.
Several steps back from him, a young man stood adorned in extremely trendy fashion. He wore a large white hoodie with a black flannel-like print across it with a large fur-lined hood. His shoes seemed to indicate that he was a skateboarder at some point, or a fan in the least. His dark blonde hair hung carelessly across his face, and he was chewing on his thumbnail as though he were nervous or agitated. From what could be judged externally, he seemed to be around Ialo's age, perhaps a bit younger or older; regardless, he was extremely tall, only half of a foot or so shorter than Riser himself.

Ialo shot an extremely alarmed look at Riser's quiet announcement. He stepped back, away from the service and those who were still speaking, and made a small gesture for Riser to follow him to where they wouldn't detract from Danni's service.
Ialo looked from the ancient warrior to the contemporary young man. "Riser, or Ulysses, all the utmost and proper respect to whomever I am addressing at this precise moment - Well, I guess now is not the time to ask you why..." The young dragon could plainly see the ticked-off expression on the warrior's face, and looked at the young man. Both him and Riser were significantly taller than Ialo was.
"I'd like to know who your friend is, here."

"Ah...yes..." he seemed to be searching for words, perhaps for an explanation. "This is...well, he's a jackass-" The boy's nail immediately left his teeth as his face shot upwards. "Hey!" "See...told you. Uhm, crap. How the hell should I put this..." "Oh just tell the albino kid already dammit." "Riiight, you can see why he's a burden already. I'll put it this way and hope that big brain of yours can piece it together." He looked to the young man for a moment, then turned his attention back to Ialo. "He's a demi-god." A familiar grin shot across the kid's face. "You're damned right I am."

"So he is a jackass!" Ialo replied smartly. "He fits right in then."
The whole demi-god fact didn't really faze Ialo. Not right now, at least. Maybe later, he would regret insulting someone who vastly overpowered him. He wiped some of the tears and blood off his faces, not caring that he was using the sleeve of his suit. "Now, apparently this is meant to be significant?" The other guy's grin was kind of unsettling.

Riser pressed his fist to his forehead in an act of further frustration. "Alright it's bad enough I have to deal with both of your crap now, but really, do you have to be so blind? If I wasn't in this form right now I guarantee the significance would knock you on your a**." The boy was chuckling slightly at that comment. Riser merely sighed heavily. "His given name is Alexander something or other, but he's amassed a number of nicknames from Cutter, Gnasher, and Fl0w, to Archangel, KidFoxx, and Dark Rain. Don't even ask me where they come from, I can't decide whether he himself made most of them up or if the public really has given him so many. Regardless, I've seen his likeness and several of these names sprayed on walls in cities around England and Scandinavia." He stopped momentarily, as if trying to come up with something. "The little b*****d has been busy, that is known to be a fact. He's been traveling all around Europe the last year or so, essentially pissing off the cops and local governments and just doing whatever the hell he wants; the youth culture is beginning to see him as an idol." He smirked at this, his thumbnail still being gnashed relentlessly between his teeth.
"Do you understand who this little b*****d is yet?" "Oh just ******** tell him already!" Riser whirled the spear around in one fluid motion, jabbing the tip to the throat of his companion. "I'm not your mother. One more time and I'll cut your ******** throat. Ialo, this idiot is my son, the result of myself and his mortal mother."

There was several minutes of dead silence from Ialo, as the service droned on in the background. He couldn't really help it though. At this point, anyone remotely skilled at telepathy could probably hear the discord in the Headmaster's mind.
Wonderful. The voice was dripping with sarcasm, but for once, it was extremely difficult to tell where exactly from which psyche it had come from. And at the same time, there was another voice, extremely interested and even excited about this new person.
But what finally came out of Ialo's mouth was neither of those thoughts, nor anything related.
"Your timing sucks. Do you make conscious attempts to take advantage of my extremely literal thought process?" His eyes were slightly glazed over and his thoughts uncensored, dizzied from fighting to establish any sort of control within his mind.
