*thump, click*
Teeesting... okay, the mic appears to be functioning. Good thing too, otherwise I might have had to throttle Paragon. He decided to belly flop onto my bed and landed right on my headset microphone. Luckily, a little duck tape solves everything, and it should continue to work. If not, he is so buying me a new one.
Anyways, I don't know why he insisted to come over to Pry's house, especially since Havok and my guardian have been fussing over me enough. Havok nearly apologized for sending me to the camp and getting me injured – I stopped him though, since I don't like hearing apologies from him – and Pryderi nearly had kittens when he found out that we nearly got attacked by a bear. Luckily, Paragon started this huge shpeal about how I was brave and s**t, and that gave me time to flee. I think he's still talking, which is excellent, because it gives me time to update this.
Yes, I know, I haven't put anything here in a long time. Life's been pretty hectic though. After the whole Lost in the Woods incident I went down to stay at Paragon's family's house. It was a nice little house, about as down town Durem as you can get though. Havok was the one who convinced Pry to let me go, and I had to promise not to do anything stupid. Che. As if I was the one who told a bear to come and attack us so we could get lost in the woods. It was obviously my fault. But I promised, and so I got to spend a week down there with the rest of the guys.
It wasn't like we did much, but it was first time I've been away from my room and actually enjoyed it. Most of the days were spent hanging out around Durem, browsing clothes and then piling into Avalanche's cheap cars and going out for hamburgers or subs or something else, depending on what everyone's feeling like. I think the last day I was there we had Chinese food. That was... interesting. It was good, but it was definitely interesting. Anyways, the afternoon was chilling at home time, then dinner (Paragon's mom is a fabulous cook, no lies) and then maybe a movie at the drive-in. It was... fun. I guess I'm not used to hanging out with friends. Reminds me of the times I spent with Yuki.
That week ended the summer camp session, and then I had to go home. I got emails and all that s**t, and I've been talking to them, and then all of a sudden Paragon shows up on my doorstep. Apparently his mother had allowed him to come up to see him since she thought I would be lonely without them.
*pause*
I wasn't lonely, just a little bit....well...
*another pause*
Okay fine, I liked being around them, so I guess I was a bit unhappy when I had to leave. But, now Paragon's here, and he said the rest of the guys will make plans to come up for a weekend sometime soon.
*voice in the background*
Whaaat? Oh, Paragon wants to go to the park.
Later.

Quote: Maelon sure seems to be twitchy with the opposite gender. Unfortunately for him, someone who works at the mansion owes somebody a big favor. (Chaco, was it you?) Anyway, Maelon's task is to take to a dance a very, very obnoxious girl who can't find a date otherwise. Have fun! Maelon didn't get letters.
He had nobody to write to, no far off relatives that wanted to keep in touch, no penpals, and definitely no girlfriend to write to. The redhead hadn't even sent any Christmas cards this year. Thus, when he came out to breakfast that morning to find a letter on his place, he was extremely confused. Pryderi had shrugged when he was asked who it was from, replying that he didn't even recognize the return address. And if he didn't know a Becky Reynolds, Maelon most certainly didn't either.
Still, once he had had his juice and his waffles, Maelon settled down in the living room to read his letter. Truth be told, he really didn't want to open this letter. The envelope was a pale pink, and was covered in butterfly and fairy stickers. The address looked like it had been written in gel pen, judging by the number of colours that were used and the way the ink sparkled in the light. The Sin'aeis gingerly turned the letter over, unable to help but cringe at the sight of the unicorn sticker holding the letter shut. Had Akilah not been blind, he would have blamed the letter on her. Unfortunately, she couldn't have written this nor written to anyone to send him such a letter, so that left her out of it. He didn't have any suspects left, so that meant he would just have to open the letter.
Sigh.
Maelon pried the unicorn sticker off so he could open the letter, still holding the envelope as though it was going to bite him at any seconds. Envelope opened, he unfolded the letter inside, wincing at the sparkly glitter pen that had been used here as well. Pryderi came into lean in on the back of the couch, and Maelon read aloud,
"Dear Maelong," Oh great, she couldn't even spell his name.
"You may not know who I am, but my father is very good friends with Chaco Shiroko. He's your creator person right? Anyways, my school prom is coming up soon and I need a date. My father said that I could pick from any of the ones that Chaco made, and I'm picking you. Meet me at my house two days from now, and come dressed fancy! But not too fancy, otherwise you'll outshine me.
~ Becky
P.S. Chaco owes my dad a huge favour, so you can't back out of this one. <3"
... There was a moment of silence as Maelon finished reading the letter. Pryderi looked as though he was trying to keep a face, while the dark chocolate Sin'aeis didn't even bother hiding his horror. He had to go to a dance. With a girl. Why hadn't he known about this earlier? He had just seen Chaco in the grocery store the other day! Oh when he got his hands on that chocolate Sin'aeis it was over, you here me, over.
Two days passed faster than they had ever passed before for Maelon. Pryderi had managed to find him a makeshift suit to wear to the dance, though the redhead refused to wear a tie. He would wear the itchy jacket, the tight button up shirt, and those stupid stiff shoes. He was not going to wear a tie. That was just asking too much. The deer boy eventually gave up and simply handed him a clip-on bow tie when they were on their way out. Maelon honestly wasn't sure why he had been talked into doing this. Part of him was sure he was doing it just to brag to Akilah later. The other part argued that it wouldn't be worth going out with a girl who used unicorn stickers. Unfortunately, he was already in the car, and couldn't turn back now. He would just have to do his best to survive this evening.
When they pulled up in front of the pretty pink bungalow, Pryderi offered Maelon an apologetic smile. For once, it wasn't the deer man's fault, and so the redhead only shrugged. "I'll call you she's done with me, and you'll pick me up?" He asked, and his guardian nodded. Pryderi looked as though he was going to say something, but shut his mouth with a rueful smile. "Try not to get uh... too scarred by all this." Maelon's lips flicked upward in a small smile at his guardian's 'wise words' before hopping out of the car. No sooner had he shut the door did the door of the house burst open with a flourish.
And there stood what could be none other than Maelon's worst nightmare.
For the longest time Maelon had considered Akilah to be his worst nightmare. From her crude remarks to her constant insistence that he was gay, just being around her made him want to hide under the nearest raised object. He had never dreamed that there could be a girl worse than her. His dreams didn't even begin to cover the horror that stood waiting for him on the doorstep. Becky was dressed in what could barely qualify in a dress. The thing just barely went down to her mid-thigh, and with no visible straps, Maelon would have thought she had come out dressed in a towel. That is, if towels these days were hot pink, covered in sequins, and were so low in the front that they created a black hole of cleavage.
Maelon tore his eyes off the black hole when Becky waved at him, finding her face not much better to look at then her dress. Her blonde (dyed no doubt) hair was up in what appeared to be a rat's next on her head, and she had more make up on than the redhead thought was humanly possible. And there was no way those nails could be real. Or those eyelashes. Or that eye colour. This was... going to be a horrible evening.
And boy was he ever right. From the moment Becky managed to get her hands on him, all she did was drag him around. She talked the entire way to the prom, all through dinner, and even when she dragged him up on the dance floor to grind against him. Maelon couldn't tell you exactly what they talked about, only that it had been entirely about her and her life. She smacked his hand when he wasn't eating very much at dinner – he hated pasta with this much sauce – and repeatedly referred to him as "her catch" to her collection of skanky friends. Maelon couldn't get past horrified to blush, until she decided to start squishing her cleavage against his chest while they were dancing. By the time the night was coming to a close, Maelon was seriously considering slitting his wrists with the spoons.
Becky made him stay until the very end before dragging him to her house where they were holding the after party. Once they got there she promptly hooked up with some other random guy there, and Maelon was finally released from the agreement. The redhead left as quickly as politeness allowed, before dashing down the street to where Pryderi was waiting for him.
He was never, EVER, doing that again.

Testing.... Green light is on, we are good to go.
Well, happy new year to anyone out there who celebrates that kind of thing. One more year, I get a little older, nothing really too exciting going on over here. I toasted with Pryderi, we were kept up all night by those stupid neighbours and their stupid karaoke, but other than that everything was pretty normal. Between you and me, I was so tempted to set a few of my bugs into their house just to get them all screeching. But that would be even louder that the karaoke, plus my bugs might get squished. And that would suck. A lot. I wouldn't be sacrificing my millipede in the name of ending karaoke night, that's for sure.
Have I mentioned her yet? Probably not. Last entry I did for this was eons ago. Anyways, she was a Christmas present from Pryderi. I dunno how he kept her hidden from me and in his closet that long. It must have absolutely terrified him knowing that there was a huge bug in his closet. Poor guy. I got him a scarf and some of the books he likes, and he seemed to take it in fair trade. I got him a book he'd been dying to buy for ages but couldn't find. I didn't even buy it for him in the first place, but internet book club thing I was part of sent it to me as like... a gift of membership or something. Who knows. I'm glad he liked it though, because I really love this millipede. She is absolutely ******** amazing.
She's a giant African millipede, and according to the internet, she'll grow up to 28 centimetres in length. Can you believe that? She's going to be huge. I just have to find a name for her. It's going to be a bit hard though, since I haven't name anything in a bit, and I want to name her something proper. She's really pretty though... I can' believe I'm gushing over a millipede. I really need to get a new job or something, maybe at Reptilia or something. Yeah, I left that other job because it was just getting crazy. Lilly kept showing up to harass me, and I couldn't serve anyone who even looked like her. Stupid gay stripper comment.... urg. Anyways, I have a millipede. Life is good. So long as I don't have to go out with Becky again.
Over.

Aaaand, the green light is gone.
Not too much has happened since my last little entry, but enough for me to do an update. The millipede is doing really well. Duchess is her name, and she's growing bigger every day. I bought her tank at the local pet store – what a rigmarole that was, urg – and she seemed to be doing quite nicely is it. When I met Mignon in the park she asked to see her, but I'm not entirely sure I want a girl coming into my house to touch my millipede. It was fine when we were kids and it was just sorta like... you know, whatever, come to my house for a drink since you walked all the way out here. But now it would just be really awkward. Plus I don't want Pryderi thinking anything. He knows how I feel about girls, especially after the whole Becky thing. Urg. Never going that again. Ever. For as long as I live. I would say I would go gay, but that would give Akilah some sort of sick satisfaction, so I think I'll just say it was a horrible experience and I don't intend to repeat it. With anybody.
Anyways, Duchess is good, and she helped me get a job! Okay, well, not really helped me, but her being there was a good thing. So when I couldn't get food for her at the local pet shop – the lady looked at me like I was crazy, I dunno what was her problem stupid b***h – I decided to go to Snakes and Spiders, which is a reptile and insect house. Figured I could at least get some sort of information out of them. Turns out there were hiring the day that I went in, and apparently my interest in millipedes and all other dangerous things made me the perfect candidate for the job. And hey, I'm not going to complain. The hours I good, I get to handle all sorts of neat stuff, and I barely have to talk to anyone. Heck, even when we do birthday parties, I just stand around with the stuff while the other workers talk. It's been pretty darn awesome, if you ask me. Plus I get discounts. It's a total win.
Speaking of that, I met this really weird chick there the other day. Apparently she's a Sin'aeis like me – I never met her before though – and she wanted to go on a camping trip. Said she was looking for books, but then when I said that the books were useless you should take someone who knows what they're talking about, I was suddenly nominated. Not that I don't like camping.... well, okay I don't really like camping, but it's an excuse to leave home and get to be the all-knowledgeable bug expert for the day. Plus, it's only Lyrus and Mignon and some other kid coming, so it's not like I have to spend the time with people I don't know. I figure I should go. I can always leave if I don't like it.
Well, that's all from me. Going to try out something new for dinner. Later!
