Koiyuki Yeah, I've Actually been thinking of putting some of the subjects on the front page, 'cause I'm getting tired of seeing 'I didn't see any form to fill out, so I'm just asking if i could join.' *goes to post.* good Idea

ok, now I know this might seem like a stupid question. I see that we have a list of people on the request to join list. Are we waiting for them to PM an essay or should I pick some one out and do an interview of sorts. I just want to help out where I can.

I've been wondering that too. sweatdrop
And, maybe we could divide up the various steps in testing an applying member among different mods or something, so that we could be more certain on exactly what to do.

Well I've tried contacting all of them, but a lot of them are offline or not avalable or haven't PM'ed an essay. If anyone of the mods wants to interview them, then go ahead. Anyone have suggestions on how to handle the matter?

I would say that we should just post the name on the list that we're working on in the mod thread (here). Then, just automatically deny that person, so they get off the list and don't confuse anyone), and then PM them and accept them if they pass.
Does that work?

Alright, new ruel, anhy post that remotely resembles bad english can be automatically denied if you see it. As fir the one person in there that has litereacy skills (dirk) I looked up his posts, and...well lets just he reminds me too much of someone else i know on another forum. Who has AIM and wants to interview the guy?

Sorry, I don't have AIM. whee
If I denied people into my guild for spelling or grammar problems, I wouldn't have half the members I do. xd My theory is I can warn them about it, and edit it if necessary, but other than that I can just ban them if I have to. Ah, the joys of playing God in your own guild. blaugh

And also, would anyone be opposed to me deleting the thread "boys..they never learn" or whatever. It seems pretty useless.

I'm not, and like i said before, if it angered the members way too much, it should be gone. You're the mod, feel free to use your own judgement in these decisions

I can see to a certian extent allowing grammatical errors. We all make them. However N00b speak I don't really like... @_@ too much thinking. ryte, imma and such words I do not think Intellectual Perverts should use. now words like gonna and the lot I can see. I although particularly do not mind 1337 it self, but I am sure many others would.

I don't mind 13375P34K in particular, but it can be used to give certain words emphasis, not for whole posts. Examples:
I n33d a b33r.
Easily understandable, right?
1 4|/| 50 1337 1 5|-|17 |-4XX0|2zz
See the difference? That's when I do mind. I can understand it, but it doesn't mean I want to read it all the damn time.
bad Lord Vyce bad wink yes, even I had to sit there and think about what you wrote. that is terribly hard to decipher.

also, what about a possible time limit? like 1 week or 2 weeks to respond with the essay. we could tell the user that they have ____ (said time limit) to reply with the essay or they will be automatically denied acceptance into the guild.
I know that sounds bad but if they aren't going to take the time to write an essay or respond in a timely manner do we want them on IPG? It might show how often they'll contribute.
I know we all have lives outside of IPG; still if they want to be a member I feel they should give a little effort.
*waits for flames* lol j/k
