You know...In my contry there are no cons, the closest thing is a collectionist rair we cosplayer took over. But its so crappy we only go there from 11:00 am to 1:00pm because that is time when all cosplayer go. After that we go to the near mall(Plaza las Americas, biggest mall in the caribbean!) I gpt shy and changed but while walking in the food court and in the cinema we saw people dressesd as Sora, kairi and Organization XIII.People when over to them, because they knew thw characters.

I don't regularly cosplay on campus, but I do wear my fox tail pretty often, especially when the Anime Club is doing something and I need to advertise. When I wear it, people ask, "Ryann, why do you have a tail?" and I proceed to tell them about the Anime Club. It's good stuff.

hm..cosplay in public eh?

well, at animeLA this past year, i was riding in the elevator and there was this old guy and he wouldnt stop stareing.. i explained to him about the con and all , and as he was leaving he said somthing about the unlimited supply of freaks wandering around...and i just laughed

same con, but at a nearby subway restraunt. the employee working there who was making our food had the same staring problem as well. my friend and i explained to him that we were in cosplay, and like the same with the old guy, we explained the who con thing as well, but we got a much nicer reaction from him : 3 while we were eating, we saw some naruto fans walk in . and they saw us and flipped out. it was too bad they werent attending the con. when they heard about it they were like, darn! wish we were there! heh heh.. they even lived in the area but they didnt know about it.

just recently , around the 29th of october, the suncoast in our mall had an anime night, there was a cosplay contest and everything. imagine the reaction i got from people when they saw me walking around as sango carrying a ginormous boomerang ; ) i had a lot of inutards come up to me that wernt even attenting anime night start fangirling about my costume.
this one guy who worked at a cingular wireless cell phone stand told me nice giant boomerang, and wanted to know if it really worked.. but i told him unfortunetly not. ^

so yes... thats my story on cosplaying in public. : D hope you enjoyed.

I am the manager for an anime store, so I often wear my naruto headband. Plus, in October I wear a costume to go with whatever tournament I am running ((Like Winry for the FMA card game)). I have no problem wearing my costumes out in public. ^_^

Although, some of the wierdest looks were given when I wore my Kuja ((FF9)) Costume to Taco Bell. It was right before a convention and we were hungry. ^_^ All the looks were either eek or question although some of the guys gave 3nodding ^_^ Twas rather interesting.

I really don't cosplay in public other than cons because I can't find good areas around where I live to get some good photoshoots such as a rose garden for my Anthy costume. Plus, I dont' ahve a digital camera.

I've found something I like when it comes ti public Cosplay. I'll wear costumes that are something tht if you didnt know me, you might nor realize i a costume. Like shorty from Bust a groove, or Yomiko Readman from Read or die. What makes that so much fun is thatyou find the real fans. The people who blink and come up to you, appolozing if it comes out as insulting...but they just gotta know....

Well I jut ahd the reverse the other day and it blew my mind. I was in the caf trying to nab a snack before class, and there in the line is a girl ina long dark jacket and her hair... well... Witch hunter robin is NOT my favorate anime, but I couldnt help myself...and I asked her if she was into anime. She said she was but asked how I knew. Apparently she had played with the idea of cosplaying that some time ago and while she never really cosplayed it, she liked doing her hair that ay...and handt hought much about it... We got tochat for a bit and I dropped her my email addy. I hope I hear from her.

I do cosplay more wildly out and a bout once in a while, but it makes my mom uncomortable, and while she dosnt yet.....I think all mothers are trained in "the look" grandma still gives it to ma, so I know I'll be getting it for the rest of my life. LE sigh.

I did go to school as chichiri on haloween though! and to my job. I almost went to school the next day as lady subar from.hack, but it was freezing cold, I didnt want to deal with the wings and a bckpack and the axe..... and my teachers kina... gross for the clas sI would have wron it to...and obses over nervous making things..so I decided on Yomiko readman isntead..... unfortuntly...I gut sick and had to come home beofore I ever got to school that day, but I did get to do chichiri.

Problem is....

in my town

nothing surprises anyone.

I walked across a collage campus around noon one time in a hat that had a paper reading "sorates" sticking out of it, carrying a stuffed tiger that ws larger then I ws and not a single person so much as batted an eye. no double takes. Maybe if I got more reactions...the wigs would come out more often,,,,

My friends (friend) at school and I decided that every third Thursday in each month, we'll cosplay.

Last Thursday, we put that into effect, and unfortunatly, we both had skirts on and it was miserably windy...

I had been with my buddies who cosplayed in public before, however, I hadn't participated. since I'm just getting into the "sport" though, I expect I'll be doing such things more often.

i enjoy cosplaying in public. it's soooo much fun.
what my friends and i do sometimes is we get all our anime wristbands, wear an anime related hat, shirt, a ninja headband, maybe an Alchemist military manskirt, you get the gist, and we walk around at the mall dressed as what I like to call "Otaku barf"

and it's sooooo much fun. especially the car ride over, we usually pull out an anime soundtrack, and just have a party in the car.

last time we did that, it was at my friend's party, and we had to swing by the grocery store to get icing for my friend's transmutation circle cookie cake...xD
