Ok, we're used to seeing cosplayers at cons and stuff, though if we wander onto the street people look at us funny, but what reactions do you get when you cosplay, say, in the middle of September around your campus?
I know I've gotten weird looks, because I've done it. I'm President of the anime club and it was to show spirit and such.
Considering doing it tonight when we go out to sushi. I know I'm an odd ball but sometimes the funny looks make me laugh!

I think it was one of the first few days of school when I wore my Naruto headband, I found quite a few anime fans because of it. ^_^ Found cosplayer when I wore Tsunade to school.
But I did get weird looks when I wore a ninja suit around my neighborhood. (I was taking pictures Ninja vs Schoolgirl with my friend. and outside had trees to climb. :B )

I'll be totally honest, I am too much of a wuss to do that. sweatdrop More power to everyone that does it though. You guys have my utmost respect.
Last year my anime club wanted my sis and I to cosplay at the club's booth at our school's heritage festival. I said "no way" while my sis just ended up being busy. Although my sis was part of the team putting together her social club's rush week and she convinced them to have to wear headbands very similar to the ones in Naruto the whole week and had a ninja dress up day.
I do plan on wearing my Ed coat around sometime, though. I really want to wear it to church one day because I have an outfit consisting of a button down black blouse, nice black pants, and black boots. Now all I need to do is braid my hair and I'm set. wink

I wore my Ed cosplay to the arcade once--I was getting pictures of me on DDR as Ed.
I've worn my Ed coat to work alot. It's comfy!
Other than that, I've worn my leaf Naruto headband from my Ino cosplay both to work and the arcade, Sakura style wearing it. I like it. 3nodding
I don't think my times of going to Denny's in costume count--I was at an Anime Con at the time, so it was a group of people in cosplay during con hours.
I'm too chicken normally to cosplay in public during non-con occasions. Unless it's late at night or I'm with a group.
I need to encourage more of my Anime club people to Cosplay....

I wear my cat ears to a lot of places. I like it when people stare. I stare back with a look on my face that says, "I DARE you to ask!"

Ah, my Ed coat, the only cosplay item I wear out all the time. It's the best little duster coat EVER. I've worn it to school, I've worn it out shopping, and of COURSE I wear it with my costume. ^_^
I also wear my Edward Elric boots a bunch too...they're so COMFY! (I took a pair of Fuggs and hacked at them with scissors and paint, but they're still legendarily my most comfy shoes ever.)
I have fully cosplayed at school on Halloween before...I'm doing Death from The Sandman this year!

I love wearing my Naruto headband in public, and my Griever necklace! My friends and I would randomly wear costumes to school, but I have yet to try it since college started...

Well, friends of mine have casually cosplayed before. One has clothes like Kyo-kun's from Fruits Basket that she wears normally, and then there's her Ed coat from Alchemist. And another friend has a white mage hoodie. Very cute. ^^

I went to school dressed up as a dark jedi two years on Halloween, I carried around lightsabers and everything. At lunch, I had quite a few duels with other people who had brought Star Wars stuff with them. I even wound up letting people borrow a lightsaber to duel me. I beat them all. Even a few at the same time. It was great. I did it again during school spirit week as a cheap excuse to do it again. I still won. I don't really count that as cosplaying though, because it was just a black shirt, black jeans, my normal shoes, and a random black cape that I found. But it might count because I went to a Halloween party dressed up like that. I don't know how to count that, but it was fun. I even got to fight some guy dressed up as Darth Maul at the party. I beat him too. ... too bad I don't think that I can do that this year... I had to change schools, and this school is very different (no school spirit stuff, no sports, non of that stuff) oh well... I might do it anyway.

Heh. whee It's so much fun. Sometimes i even forget that im wearing it because im so used to it that when people give me weird looks i wonder why then remember.
It's fun in school. The comment range from complements to harassment but i love it either way. Im not the only one there that wears naruto headbands too. ^.^ A bunch of us went to otakon and pillaged the headband stand. 3nodding

...what is it with Edward Elric coats being worn outside of costumes? OK, I admit it, I actually started that costume as an excuse to have the coat, but still...
