A part of Iðavöllr found herself wondering if she should try opting for something that was not a stone, given how very hit or miss her throwing attempts seemed to be, but ultimately she had ended up reaching down for yet another stone–
Because it wasn't as if she had a lot of options - and at least by throwing stones she could kind of feel like she was doing something.
But the stone that she had picked up had ended up being on the small side, and even Iðavöllr could see that it was unlikely to do much as she threw it at the tree.
Varuna could feel the hairs on the back of her neck bristle at the sight of the strange miasma that was revealed with the large, dark, barren tree. She could feel the Chaos leaking from it.
Her immediate reaction was to attack the strange energy, but she was also aware of those around her. She didn’t want to accidentally get them caught up in her attack and send them closer to the tree. Although it appeared many didn’t have any sense of self preservation and just lunged forward.
There was something very dangerous about the idea of getting too close, or even letting the strange energy touch them. She wouldn’t do it, and she feared the worst for those who had approached the tree so eagerly. No, she couldn’t risk getting hurt. Not when she had Auntie Marissa and Lilah to worry about. And Paris still needed to be rescued. Somehow.
She placed a hand on Perdita’s shoulder, as though trying to keep her from doing anything reckless. But the young woman seemed to have a healthy respect for the dangers Chaos posed.
Varuna did her best to wait until everyone was out of the way, before summoning her own magic to attack the tree. “Snow slide!”
Super Sailor Attack: Snow Slide Snow suddenly materializes within an eight foot radius, twelve inches deep beneath the feet of Varuna's opponent(s), pushing them up and off solid ground, then rolls out from under them at the speed of a fast treadmill, lasting only about ten seconds. Very high potential for the opponent to slip and fall and get soaked with snow even as it disappears after it melts. Twenty-five foot attack range from Varuna. Can be used three times, four times her final limit.
Becrucis knew not what to expect, but this wasn't even in the realm of ideas she could have come up with. Perhaps she should have sought more time with Liryn. He had offered himself as a resource and had done well enough when they first met at explaining things.
However, as time went on and Elissa did not pursue these cosmic responsibilities which meant that some of what she'd learned had been subsequently forgotten. It was by no fault of the bob-tailed mauvian but it did mean that she was severely underprepared for what she signed up for by answering the call for aid.
Truth be told, she'd never once used her magic and wasn't entirely sure what it did. But she went out on a limb, no pun intended by the evil tree, and called out her attack "Blessing of Triumph," One hand she placed above her heart and with the other, she pointed a finger towards a knight with data lines decorating her uniform. A light pink ball appeared above both their heads and expanded into a softly-lit halo.
The Senshi of Blessings stood there a moment, expecting to somehow feel different but ultimately felt much the same, and rather than worry about figuring out what went wrong, she picked up another rock and threw it at the tree as instructed.
Sailor Scout Attack: Blessing of Triumph
Sailor Becrucis places both hands above her heart then whispers the name of her attack. She then points at up to two targets within 12 feet of where she is standing. A light pink ball of light appears above her and her target's head then expands into a halo floating above them.
Effect: Damage and agility is increased by 25% Duration: 20 seconds Cast: 3 times - cannot be applied to the same target until the current effects have worn off; her attack cannot be stacked. Note: Attacks cannot become lethal, player must receive permission to do more or lasting damage.
"Hmm..." The shield all but shattered and the tree it had been protecting was now leaking miasma.
Although this was a serious situation, Pherkad couldn't help but wonder if Sailor Child were here, who would be more effective; her friends' noxious smelling attack or her own wind blades. A curiosity best satiated at a later date and time. For now, she saved her magic and selected another stone and threw it at the tree just narrowly missing the Page of Mercury who was mid-swing with her weapon.
Rainier wasn't entirely sure what to think when a ball of pink light floated towards her, or when it became a softly lit halo above her head. It didn't come from the tree and didn't feel malicious in any way; well other than making her feel a bit self-conscious about having a bit of a spotlight but a quick glance behind her revealed that fortunately, she wasn't the only one.
Could only be a good thing, she supposed.
With her weapon still in hand, she swung it by the cord and moved to hit the tree as she did the barrier when a rock came flying by. Close enough to cause her hair to flip forward when it passed through the purple and cyan-colored strands. Fortunately, it missed the side of her face but was still too close for comfort and her swing decidedly only grazed the bark of the tree in front of her.
Rainier turned, aimed a sharp-pointed glare behind her at the one with the very obvious 'oh s**t' expression that stared at her wide-eyed.
Perhaps bringing a blaster to a fight like this was less than an optimal decision on his part. But his choices were limited and this was what he had to work with.
With the barrier destroyed, their new target brought some of the melee fighters in closer while others who were either conserving their magic, or didn't have magic suitable for this kind of fight, were throwing rocks. Such a rudimentary thing to do but he supposed if there were no other choices then tossing stones was better than standing around idly.
Nonetheless, it made his ability to render aid a bit more difficult.
Cypher watched as one senshi almost hit a knight and if he was one to show emotion, he would have probably smirked, but instead used it as a lesson to just aim his blaster higher. Unfortunately, it was in a place where branches were thin and the 'bullet' went through the leaves and limbs
"Tch..." Recalabration may be necessary... His aim was not typically this off.
Acrucis looked over at the Page of Pluto with a sympathetic expression.
Despite her own rank, this was not the first time she had been to someone else's wonder. Nor was it the first corrupted tree she'd come up against. Destiny City was a strange enough place, but their Homeworlds and Wonders had a tendency of being just as deadly or dangerous.
As much as she wished that they had some time enough to tell him what he might be able to expect, unfortunately, everything happened so suddenly that Acrucis' mind was left reeling. The Cosmos Knight lay flat on their back with guardians surrounding him and while her first reaction was to run to their side to render aid, the tree had to be dealt with first.
For a short time she stood by the Page, watching everyone as they tried to break the barrier with stones, weapons and magic if they had it. Acrucis waited, more than half expecting an explosion of sorts or another blast to lash out at another of their comrades. When it didn't happen, she felt a measure of relief but Knight's ancestor's instructions made her feel... off. Still, she did as instructed and cast a Prayer of Renew on the core.
Sailor Scout Attack: Prayer of Renew Sailor Acrucis brings her hands together in a prayer motion and whispers her attack after which she holds her hands out in front of her in the direction of an injured individual within 15 feet of where she is standing. Both Acrucis's hands and the individual are bathed in a soft yellow light as a heal over time is cast. Over the next 10 seconds Renew has the ability to fully heal minor cuts, scrapes and bruises and can be cast 3 times without wearing her out. In order to mend a moderate wound it would take 2-3 casts on the same individual but will not fully heal the wound**. Her target must be in front of her or to her sides, it cannot be cast on someone behind her.

“The knight of Erytheia was always alone. His was always a solitary post.”
Yuki said with a sad look.
“That did not stop him from loving the man or the man loving him in return. But eventually the man left. The knight of Erytheia grew lonely again and his heart ached.”.
It appeared that it was going to be easier than Drombeg thought to destroy the Chaos that was within the Wonder. The barrier had come down before he had been able to swing at it with his fist again and he was quite proud of all of the Chibi Senshi who had attacked.
Still, they needed to defeat the tree and Drombeg decided to punch at it with his fist. Not the greatest idea as he felt the force of the tree hit his fist, but he had some protection from it due to his armor. Still, he would have to try it at another angle!
For his part Alphubel was definitely glad that he didn't have to swing at the barrier again. The last time he believed he had done some damage, but they were quite close together so it was hard to miss everyone as he swung. Eventually though they were able to get through it and now had to go after the tree and heal the core. As he had no ability to do so, he opted for swinging at the tree again, this time from a vertical angle instead of a slightly horizontal one.
The barrier had been taken down easily, but now it was time to try and help the Wonder as best she could. Her "attacks" against the tree wouldn't have done anything and she didn't have enough experience with her fists to be able to try and hit it. Instead she opted for the one healing spell that she had in an attempt to help the core.
"Waterlily purification!" She said as she got as close to the core as she could. Hopefully this would do something to help the poor Wonder. And she hoped that after all of this it would be salvageable!
Quote:
Larissa summons a giant water lily, about 5 feet in length. Those within a 10 foot range of it are healed a bit. Small cuts are totally healed, but deep gashes/very deep cuts only stop bleeding (they'll still clot though!), they do not heal otherwise.

rolling for buffing core from Sumner Core: 22/35
The barrier was down and now they had two choices. One was to attack the tree which he really didn't want to do, and the other was to help the core... somehow.
At least this time he would be able to use his magic AND it would do something! He took out his harp and started to strum the tune that he had found on his Wonder, hoping that he was helping the core at least a little bit. And if he wasn't, hopefully he was encouraging the others to attack the tree more!

Damage roll from Voyager Tree: 40/100
Another situation that involved him attacking something and he didn't feel as though he had any way to really hurt it. He could have used his fists and left with bruises. His weapon could be used but it would be like hitting someone lightly with a spoon.
So he instead opted for the one thing he could do that he had managed to do on every other fighting mission that he had been on when it came to Wonders or Homeworlds. Throw a rock at it!
Perdita wasn’t the type for recklessness, not unless that was her only option. Since that wasn’t the case at the moment, she kept her distance, offering Varuna a nod of understanding.
Drawing too close to any sort of strange energy source was never a good idea, especially when that source seemed so dark and ominous. Though she hadn’t been present at the hilltop battle, she was certainly aware of how easy it could be for any kind of chaotic energy to spread and consume.
Perdita glanced around and took stock of their surroundings, attempting to determine how useful her magic might actually be here. She might be stronger now than she’d been as a Chibi senshi, but her magic still had its limitations. What she wouldn’t give to have the power of something less abstract, like Varuna.
“Touch of Abundance,” she murmured, and picked up the nearest piece of debris she could get her hands on. Perdita threw it with all her might, and watched it burst into a cascade once it hit the tree.
Quote:
Super Sailor Scout Attack:Touch of Abundance Perdita’s magic collects in her palms, warm and golden. She may then touch a natural object of her choosing and throw it at her opponent, where it will burst on impact and become a cascade of those objects — enough to bury her target up to 6 feet, threatening to suffocate anyone shorter than that. Objects can be anything in nature she finds in her surroundings, such as branches, pine cones, rocks, plants, seashells, bones, etc., anything inanimate that can feasibly be lifted and thrown. Injuries are up to player discretion and depend on the object used, but wounds can be moderate. The pile of whatever object chosen will last a total of 15 seconds before disappearing, and though it may be difficult to wade through, it is not impossible to escape.
Cadet Vaylin of the Vanguard DMG: 3 Tree HP: 30/100 Vaylin saw the real foe once the barrier was lowered, she couldn't say she was expecting to fight an evil tree but she supposed this was just part of the strange corruption that chaos brought. She readied her dagger and rushed at the tree.
She slashed and stabbed into the bark she didn't really know the best way to fight a chaos poisoned tree so she just had to hope that conventional attacks would be effective. .
Ara Saw the dark tree come into view. It was not hard to understand why the man had called it a chaos seed. This tree was undeniably corrupted and it needed to be eliminated before it spread its roots across the wonder.
She called on her super magic "Infinite Light Parade!" Motes of light appeared behind the teenage senshi before she sent them blasting towards the tree in a blast of intense light.
Infinite Light Parade!
Six motes of light appear in the air behind Ara and fire toward her opponent(s). The blasts of light knocks an opponent back and blinds them and can at the other player's discretion leave a cut and burn where the light hits them (As a chibi the cut and the burn are minor). Uses: 3 Duration: 25 seconds Reach: 7 feet
Tachibana watched as the barrier fell revealing an evil and corrupted looking tree. It was sad in a way, clearly this tree must have been something special and sacred but now because of chaos it was vile and rotted. She had to try to help bring it down.
Unfortunately she doubted her petals would help with an enemy like this so instead she grabbed an armful of stones and began chucking them at the tree as hard as she could.
