“Inspiration is found everywhere you look.
The trick is to capture it and make it something your own."

Vance Merlo
[The Artist]
Team: LMAA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vance's cheeks puffed up when his shoulder was puffed up as he felt that he was being teased by their team leader, However, after a small laugh, he was ready for Lunia's next step, which was to find their missing teammate. The boy would agree with plan with a nod and started to make his way to the right of where they were. "Charloote? Can you here me?" He said as he looked for his teammate, trying to avoid moving too much so he didn't hurt his friend. Vance felt sick as the smell of blood was fresh around him, and he could only hope that the people that the blood belonged to were going to be okay. There were teams around still trying to get their barrings, and to his displeasure, he caught one of the student throwing up from something he didn't see. Though he had be spared from seeing why she had thrown up, the boy would gag, nearly doing the same but was able to hold it back. He would go to move until he heard the slam of a rock and quickly looked over to see the familiar figure Charlotte. Vance would run over to meet back up with his team, worried about the how the girl was doing.

He ran over to Lunia's side and saw that Charlotte had got hit during the cave in but she seemed to had provided herself first-aid. The boy had to admit that with the blood that was on his teammate made her a bit more scary. However with a gulp, he would speak up and tried to explain what they knew to maybe calm down the girl. "Um, hi Charlotte. I'm glad to see you alright... Please don't hurt me." Vance said before he stepped back to stand behind his team leader, unsure if the scorpion faunus wanted to talk at all. He knew that Lunia had been with Charlotte longer then him and might be able to ease her then him. The boy look around a moment to see if there was a medic near by to check to see if the faunus was truly okay. Sure, the girl did scare him, especially when she got mad, he still saw her as a friend and didn't want anything bad happen to her. Vance saw that most of the staff were still trying to find a way out of the cavern, and that they were still stabilizing the people they had. He looked back to the two to see what Lunia had planned with their teammate with her injuries.

NAME >>> Jazz Myers
COMPANY >>> Commander Adao
EMOTION >>> Terrified
MISSION >>> Đαɾƙ Ømҽgα
SEMBLANCE >>> 3/4 - No current remnants

- - - - - -

The noise and loss of communication had caused chaos above. Soldiers shouting between one and other to try and piece together what exactly had occurred. Any and all equipment that was being used to monitor the situation had now gained two to three times as many people gathering around than mere moments before. But in the centre of all of this was Jazz curled up staring at the floor, unblinking. Jazz was it? The soldier waited a second hoping he would snap to. Everyone had seen things; some people had been broken by them. Most students didn't make it out of the Academy these days, but this sight was all too close to home for this soldier. STAND UP SOLDIER! They bellowed.

It was obvious that Jazz wasn't responding or about to. The soldier crouched down and put his head near Jazz to talk into his ear. Look, kid. I know it's tough out there. Everyone has seen s**t, but if we let that overwhelm us then who fights? We are the first and last line of defence in this cold world. I know you know that you wouldn't have come if you didn't believe it. Moments like this will define you... And I won't let you waste years as I did. The soldier then stood up, putting their gun over their shoulder. Bending back down they picked up Jazz in a fireman's lift. He didn't react. You might hate me for a bit, but in years to come you'll thank me. So, don't die till then. They then carried Jazz over to the pit others had rappelled down. It's a 300ft drop, so you got about 4 seconds to snap out of it or you're gonna find yourself in a lot of pain... Taking a look over they smiled. Either way you'll snap out! And with that they chucked Jazz over.

0 Seconds.
At first Jazz' body felt this sense of weightlessness, it was almost blissful. His mind was still locked, reminding him of the explosion months earlier. Not again. Not again.

1 Second.
That weightlessness went as soon as it came. His body was quickly beginning it's fight or flight response, but Jazz knew nothing of it. What did I do to deserve this? I... I. Lunia... I'm sorry, I couldn't keep my promise.

2 Seconds.
His body was now in full conflict with his mind, react v freeze. For a moment Jazz' eyes began to scan the floor quickly approaching him. What's that? More rubble? Just my luck...

3 Seconds.
When you're falling what do you do Jazz? A figure appeared in Jazz' mind, a towering silhouette. Who are? What are? Do I know you? It made no discernible reactions to Jazz or the situation.Just die, or? Suddenly there was a small figure behind Jazz. Brace! It was clearly a child, but who was it? What are you both talking about?

4 Seconds.
It was then Jazz realized his situation, the two figures vanished. Falling. What, when! Crap, this will hurt.

4.1 Seconds.
Jazz activated his Aura, focusing it on the part that would impact first. Come on. Come on. Come on.

4.2 Seconds.
Any moment now he would collide. Make it!

4.3 Seconds.
SMACK His Aura had barely enough time to cover him, protecting him from most of the fall, but still it hurt.
Rolling onto his back Jazz let out a pained moan. Why the hell did I fall!? The sun was close to being directly over the hole. From above a figure appeared to be looking down. Congrats! Now go catch up with your team! With that they left. Didn't have to throw me, could have... I don't know? Moved me to one side while I calmed down? Or Just left me where I was? Or, or.. Anything other than this! Turning to his side Jazz saw the cave entrance. Ok. I'm alive. That's all that matters now. Slowly, Jazz got to his feet, assessing the situation while doing so. He was supposed to go to the side branch, at least that's what Aurtrox told him. I suppose it'll be obvious enough. Then he set off on his way down the cave.

『Into ƚhҽ Đαɾƙnҽss – Phase One: B』

▨✥▨

[Before Jazz reacted to the seismic activity and was tossed in]

Above ground commander Adao stands behind what looks yo be an impromptu command center with three different desks each with numerous computers and monitoring devices. "There seems to be a seismic disturbance within the cave sir!" Shouted a bull faunus in military uniform. "And its rippled to both caves!" Shouted another. Things were getting intense down there.

"We scanned the area for potential threats, how did this sneak past us?"
The commander barked. He noticed jazz had approached him from the side. "Jazz, you do look like a capable young man, but in sorry, there is simply nothing for you to do-" The commander faltered as an incoming transmission aired live, maybe there was something for him to do. In the transmission one could hear the intermittent screaming of terrorized youth with some sort of crashing sound in the back that escalated into a full blown roar of a rockslide. "We need to send more medics down for the evacuees! Get an emergency medical team ready! Now! The commander barked even louder than before. He turned to Jazz,
"You want to help son? Good, I want you down with that medical team and any other capable studebts above ground. You are in charge of the student body evacuations from here forth. Now get your arse down there!
The commander turned back to his own station and started to shout a long series of other commands that needed done to prep everything. The camp burst back into chaos as people ran every which direction with all manners if supplies. A new team if medics were starting to rappel down and a new table of supplies laid out for any student helpers.

Asger, Ridley, Zylah, and many others are carried out from the cave towards the entrance. A few students taking them back. Eve would eventually spot Asger out of the corner of her eye and rush to his side to tend to him. Her exact emotions were not easily discerned as the students rushed him in a stretcher as fast as they could to the entrance of the cavern which was quite a distance away as it was. If they were lucky they may find help halfway there. Felix turned to Ora and apologized to her abruptly as he rushed off to Zylahs side. This was not how it was supposed to happen and who new what kind of ramifications would happen for those who abandoned the mission, but who could blame them either?

Rachel, the one and only teacher escort for the mission, walked to the front of the group and shouted to get their attention "LOOK HERE RUNTS!" She stared them down for a hit minute before continuing in a somewhat somber tone compared to normal. "We must keep going. Those who are too injured to continue on have been treated best we can and evacuated. Aurtrox, and the military have made it known that this mission is of utmost importance! SO SUCK IT UP and move onwards!" She then walked over to the robotic escort and tapped a few buttons on a panel on it's back, activating some basic emergency protocol. The robot mechanically came back to life, but was different from before. It started to follow her without speaking as she began walking deeper into the offshoot that was marked Omega cave on their scroll maps.

The cave would go a short distance longer. Unusually warm winds blowing by them. Eventually they would see a dark orange glow up ahead as the heat would take a sharp spike upwards. When they reached the end they would see a massive volcano interior, it had to be a hundred meters across and the ceiling seems to be completely sealed. It was an underground volcano then, dormant from above, but active deep below where the teams now were. Everyone's scrolls started to beep out of control. A warning sign saying that the students needed to donntheir gas masks in order to not be adversely affected by the air around them.

As you approach the edge of a cliff that is several hundred feet high, above a molten lake, you see to your left a series of scaffolding and bridges that crawl across the side if the volcano leading to what looks like a large metal square of sorts. A door. Rachel taps a few buttons in the robots back to set it as a guard at the opening before she takes the lead towards the door.

[get to the door safely].

[Roll a d10 as you cross the scaffolding. Results to be revealed in the next mid post. If you roll 5 or less assume you dont make it all the way to the door in your post.]

Darius listened as the robot spoke, and then the girl who had joined them. He would have been curious of what the droid had found out, but seeing what was left of Perry after eve was done had distracted his focus. It was not everyday you ran into a cannibal, despite the rumors at beacon. He did catch that the robot could not come up with a definitive analysis...though shortly after it seemed the robot needed repairs and promptly shut down. At least he thought it did. Which was a little worrying since it seemed like it could have been very helpful. He was no mechanic though, so there was no way for him to aid it in repairs. So he trusted the robot to be able to fix itself. Hopefully. Aura would give an explanation of why they were there, that they could look for the rest of team Cape, and that after getting checked for his injuries he should to a professor Anderson in order to be allowed to accompany them. He nodded, and gave a grateful smile to Azura. "Thank you...After Perry...I just hope they are ok." He would say, expression saddening as he glanced at what was left of Perry...It seemed Azura took it even harder, excusing herself to puke and having someone else help her. Seeing it as a good time as any to end their interaction, he would go to the nearest medic to get patched up.

His wounds were not major, and the medic quickly patched him up well enough. Darius would ask of hazards or anything to be prepared of, being told about possible toxic gas and that survival packs had been distributed earlier. Before the medic would leave, Darius would stop him to ask for a bit more equipment. He had seen the packs everyone had, and in comparison he was ill-equipped. While there were a few strewn about, likely left from evacuated students, he wasn't convinced they may have all he needed or that what was inside would be in good condition. The medic had little time to do so, since there were still wounded here, and just told him to get what he could from the packs and left to take what was...left of Perry. Darius would begin to scavenge from the few packs he saw on the ground, managing to replenish his allotment of raw dust in the form of crystals ( 2 fire dust and one gravity), but the bullets he had little use for. As far as could be seen, he only had his sword with him and he doubted there was a spare gun to be used anywhere. Or so he thought at least. While searching, he seemed to find a type of gun...a flare gun. 'Won't exactly help me against grimm but...It is something.' He thought to himself. He may have a use for dust rounds after all. He would go back to where he had found some rounds, collecting eight in total. With firepower done, which he felt they would for sure need after his own encounter, he would try to get the survival equipment.

Feeling more prepared now then ever, he would try to catch up with everyone. Rachel had already set everyone to begin to move ahead, so Darius ran a little to catch up with them. Not too hard with his lantern to shed light, and the sound of the group moving. Thankfully they had not been running, or else he may not have caught up. While he walked with them, he would modify the flare rounds to have dust inside them too. The group would continue for a bit as the cave strangely became warmer. "A underground cave should get colder, not warmer...right." He asked aloud, though it seemed mostly directed to himself. Eventually, an orange light appeared and slowly grew the further they walked towards it...along with the heat. Then it suddenly opened up into a very very large cavern, with the heat spiking up as well. Darius could already feel the faint desire to go back towards the cold deeper in, or like he needed to shed a few layers of clothing. But more than anything, he was more captivated by the sight. It was a giant underground volcano...and judging from the heat and light, it was fairly active too. He was broken from his apparent awe at what he saw by the sound of beeping all around him as people began to put on gas masks. Which he would quickly do himself after he dug it out of his bag. He did not go through all this to die to gasses.

The expedition would walk to the edge of a very high cliff, giving a commanding view of the molten lake. Darius carefully did not stand too near the edge. He didn't want to go for a dip in the lava. But despite the natural danger all around them, he found his eyes drawn to something artificial. A large metal door, and scaffolding along the side of the volcano that seemed to lead to it. 'That doesn't look particularly safe or sturdy.' He thought to himself quietly. There was no other way forward as far as he could see, and no alternate paths. 'All we are missing now is an evil villain monologue." He would say aloud to try to lighten the mood a little. As his eyes focused on the bridge, he wasn't sure it would support everyone. But then there seemed to be worse bridges in his time that still stood tall. He didn't want to risk losing everyone though. He would step forward a bit, clear his throat, and speak to everyone aloud. Taking control of the situation...A little strange given they had a teacher escort, but he knew how enthusiastic some people could be so he wanted to step up. That and being leader of a time had left him used to trying to guide things a little. "I think we should go across in groups rather than all at once. Half of us go first, and when they are halfway across the rest should start." He would say, hoping others would listen to his plan. He almost felt like saying one group at a time, but given what happened when his group split up he didn't want them too separated. Darius chose to be in the latter group, and once the first group had been halfway or so across his group would go forth onto the bridge.

[Everyone who rolled a number from 6-10, you are part of the first group and make it safely across. Everyone who rolled 1-5, you are part of the second group and should end your post while on the bridge.]

Ora sighed. This wasn't supposed to happen. Felix was supposed to come back down with her, but he abandoned her for Zylah. Everything was about Zylah nowadays. Dark thoughts would cross her mind. She knew how to make it the way it was, but for once, Felix seemed happy. Was she really happy? She was just doing a mission. She did enjoy the company of her team, but she was always hiding things, deep in her heart. She wanted to see the plan succeed, but if it did, she would most likely have to abandon Felix. Their freedom was important, but only if they were all free. Were there really only 4 of them left? How many children were out there, hiding? She wished she could be herself. She couldn't though. She had a mission to do. This was just one step in it.

She would meet back up with the rest of the students. Rachel was having them move on it seemed, great. She would pick up her armor, and put it back on her arms, protecting her from what it could. Yes, her Aura would protect her, but when that ran out, she had a bit of extra protection against the beasts of Grimm.

She would refuse to don on a mask. Yes, the air was thick with a gas, but she would persevere. She was breathing shallowly. It was just a suggestion if it was from the scroll, not an order. She would push her way up front, she needed to get out of the gasses fast. She would make it across the bridge with no issues other than the gas starting to get to her.

Lunia was too busy searching that she was unaware of the fact that her teammate was safe and coming towards them. Suddenly, she heard the voice she had been dying to hear, and instantly paused, turning around to view Charlotte. Lunia had to hold back tears of relief, as she very quickly walked over to her with her arms outfold as she dragged her best friend into a hug. "Charlotte... I-I'm so glad you're alive.." she said, as she clung to her teammate tightly before releasing it and looking her up and down - she was evidently hurt, however still alive, and that's all that mattered.

Lunia looked to Vance, "We've both been searching for you..." she said, gesturing to both herself and Vance. She chuckled a little at Vance's statement, she struck fear into many individuals in the world, and it was always interesting because she did actually have a heart of gold. Lunia cleared her throat, she knew Charlotte would be desperate to see Zylah, and she wasn't sure how to cover this topic with her in a safe way.

"Char.. Zylah has been taken to a medic tent at the camp. She's alive, and she will survive, but she got hurt.." she said, as she would hear the girls reaction, and be suddenly interrupted by Rachel, who shouted at them all to continue on. Lunia let Charlotte get checked over, she would wait with Vance until the three of them were ready to follow on. As they followed, their scrolls began to beep loudly, Lunia got such a fright and instantly hoped that it would be Jazz - stupid thinking. "Looks like we have to put the masks on.." she said, placing hers on as she made sure her teammates followed suit.

As they progressed, the group came to the edge of a cliff that caused Lunia to root herself to the ground, she was petrified of heights and could see students beginning to climb over the scaffolding that was the only thing between them and a several hundred feet drop to molten lava. Turning to Charlotte and Vance, she gulped. Lunia was their leader, she had to look strong, and this is what she would try to do. Rachel would begin to lead them to the door, and Lunia took it upon herself to be one of the first to begin crossing.

The crossing was tough, Lunia took the 'don't look down' approach. She talked to herself in her head, asking Keaton to watch over her, but as she would have time with her thoughts, the only person who kept overtaking them was Jazz. Sighing, Lunia stopped to recover her thoughts, shaking off Jazz, she continued, and made it to the end. Coming off the bridge, Lunia was relieved more than ever, she turned to the other side now and watched Vance and Charlotte like a hawk - she wouldn't let anything happen to them, even if it cost her her own life.

"Revenge is a confession of pain"
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

Narx sighed as they reached the safety of the ledge. This cave expedition was more dangerous than he thought. Apparently it was unstable. He had no clue why the cavern collapse happened, but he knew they needed to choose their routes more carefully from now on. He'd make sure to quickly rush between what looked like strong outcrops that could protect them from debris from above for the rest of this trip. Whenever possible at least. He was thinking all this, but ultimately his mind was preoccupied with the fact that Danaë's feathers were getting stained with blood. Her own blood. He wanted to heal her, but she was right, if he did, he would go blind completely... He only had one good eye afterall. "But if I don't heal your eye... you might lose it..." He would rather go temporarily blind, then for her to lose an eye. "Are you sure its not so bad?" He groaned. This was frustrating. He would be useless if he went blind, not even able to turn back without aid, but if she lost her eye he'd kick himself forever. "It better be alright after this..." He said as he grabbed her hand so they could continue together to do as she suggested; find Eve who unbeknownst to them had turned around in the dark and left with Asger as he was evacuated.

"Let's get to safety!" Narx shouted, trying to move, but he still couldn't get off the ground. He twisted to try and crawl and saw Danaë's face covered in blood. "Danaë, you're hurt!" He reached to touch it, but his arm was still too stiff. He wanted to heal her, but they needed to get to safety first, and he needed to regain control of his body. The group was moving forward. He saw Ora and her team, Lu, Jazz, several others who were very capable. This mission wouldn't be too difficult now that they were aware of how serious it was. A little collapse like that took out so many of them purely because they were not taking this seriously. That wouldn't happen again.

Narx would lead the way farther into the cave until they reached a volcano. "Danaë... look." He didn't need to say it, as she could already see it surely, but it was just amazing that something like this could exist. "Did you know Vale had volcanic activity so close? I had no clue..." That was when his scroll went off. He pulled it out to see an atmospheric warning. "What does this mean? The air is poisonous?" He smacked his scroll on the side hoping it was just a glitch, but the warning stayed flashing with a little alarm sound. A suggestion to don a gas mask could be seen at the bottom. Did we even get those?" He would ask his lovely feathered partner with a quizzical look? He would rummage through his bag until he found it, and with a quirky smile he'd put it on with some difficulty due to his eye patch. He'd ask Danaë to help him put it on securely, and offer to help her since her eye was wounded and likely sensitive.

After that exchange Narx would proceed with the others to the side. A strange looking scaffolding system that made bridges and ladders along the uneven cliff edge to what appeared to be some sort of large door. There was someone here before. This alone was a massive find that Aurtrox and the military would want to know about. This is where the real mission started. Narx made it across safely. a few of the ladders shook with fragility underneath his weight. He saw a few others had made it, and in the distance a few were struggling at the midway point.

She was thankful for all the help, but the thanks would have to wait. Rachel went to barking orders, something Lena loathed with a passion but the rebel without a cause would suck it up. With a small shrug Lena would keep pressing forward, her mechanical limbs keeping the Faunus from falling. Light on her feet Lena would easily press across the scoff holding, using her thrusters to aid in the thrust. As the wasp got to the end her limbs moved towards the attack. Anything could have been behind the door and Lena was determined not to be caught off guard. "If I shrink I could scout in there unnoticed. Potentially unnoticed if anything is there." She was thinking, tapping her mental chin a bit. What mystery’s lay in wait for them,

“Inspiration is found everywhere you look.
The trick is to capture it and make it something your own."

Vance Merlo
[The Artist]
Team: LMAA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vance pouted again when his team leader began to chuckle from what he said, but she knew the faunus longer then him. Maybe, he just needed to spend more time with Charlotte for him to get use to her fierce looking eyes. The man was still worried about his teammate and would watch as she went to go get checked out. He didn't know what to do in this situation, and tried to give Lunia a reassuring smile, with a hope that everything would be okay now. Once the three were ready, Vance followed behind Lunia until they came to the sudden change of scenery. As per usual, he lifted up the camera that hung on his neck and began to capture the area on film. The boy's smile was bright as he had only read about places like where they were and already had ideas of what colors he could use. He was roped back to reality when he heard the chime of the group's scrolls, pulling his own to check the message. Vance followed his team leader's orders and put the gas mask over his face, which couldn't hide how excited he had gotten.

When he got the bridge and saw the large door like structure, he couldn't but snag some shots of the area. There had been a major bump in the road before they had started, but now, the boy could see that this was where the adventure was truly going to start. He was placed in the first group to go over to the structure, and was more then happy to do so. Vance wanted to know what was behind that door so badly, and wondered how long this place had been sealed for. He could only imagine what was inside while he careful moved along the scaffolding and bridges, following his leader. The boy did get concerned when she suddenly stop, but like the brave person he knew she was, she got to the end first. He would be next from their team as his body language showed how excited he was about being here, but he would now watch Charlotte while hoping she got over the structures safely. However, Vance caught an image in the corner of his eye and it made him worry about one of the other students. "Hey! Um... Ora? Yeah, Ora. What are you doing? We were told to put on ours gas masks." He said muffled by the mask but with concern, worried that Ora was in serious danger because of the gases in the area.

Danaë's eye would have a piece of gauze placed over it, and it taped to her face. She would look to Narx, with a smile on her face. She was fine...maybe. If she lost the eye, she was sure her mother wouldn't let her go without a cybernetic eye. Actually, that was a question, why didn't Narx get a Cybernetic eye...Maybe she could convince her mother to get him one. She would have to do as her mother wished though. It would be something that she would need to discuss with him. "Narx, I should be fine." She would reach for his face with her right hand, to gently cup it, but missed it the first time, she stepped forward and got it the second time. Did he always experience things this way? He never seemed to miss her face when he went to touch her.

She would take his hand, she typically held Narx's right hand, so she would move to do that. She concentrated this time to grab it, though she could see movement, so maybe he helped her grab it. As she would walk, she would stumble over things on her left side that she couldn't see. She didn't fall, but it was just all dark over there. She would clutch onto Narx's arm, trying to stay as close to him for this. Then the cave would get hotter, and she would start to sweat on her non-feathered body parts. Her grip would slip a little. As much as she wanted to be close to Narx right now, he was like a space heater.

Danae heard the collective screech of the scrolls, warning everyone to put on their gas masks. She would watch Narx try to put his on, and she would help him. She then took her own out of the bag. She would start to put it on her face, but her eye feathers wanted to get in the way. With Narx's help, they got them under control. It was uncomfortable though, even her ear feathers were effected. They were twitching with being uncomfortable.

They would walk further into a cavern with scaffolding. The ground was non-existent, there was only Lava. She would gulp. She would have gone back with the injured if she had known that there was going to be heights. Could she fly now, yes, however, she was having issues with seeing right now, and this wasn't the time to not be able to see anything on her left side. She would try to grip Narx's hand tighter, but her hands were sweaty. She was overheating. She had ice dust, but it wasn't time to use it. If things got worse though, she was gona activate it and stick it in her feathers.

She was holding Narx's hand, when someone came on her blind side and hit her from behind. Her hand became loose from Narx's, and she was spun around. She would look around. Narx hadn't noticed she was gone. The heat was getting to her. She would start moving forward, not very fast, but she had to get out of this Volcano.

Cecil followed the teams afterwards, once the wounded were evac'd by the medical teams. The shark leader took point once again and began to lead them on as Cecil remained with Azura and Adam now. His weapon had gone into it's sheathe while he held the flashlight still, his worries quickly dissapating. He had to act as team leader for the two humans, and he was beginning to feel rather hot. He shook it off as nothing while they moved down further till they finally got to a large cliff inside of the cave. He got the warning on his scroll and reached into his bag while he looked to Adam and Azura, his hand pulled out a gas mask and with one hand, he managed to slip it on. His mind wandered back for some reason, to a school play he was in by sheer luck and was always told to don his mask like this. It was weird.... nevertheless, he looked to Azura and helped her to put on her mask. "Come on Azura, Adam, we need to have our masks on.... the cave is getting poisonous further we go down." He told them while his breathing was beginning to get heavy.

'Why is it getting so hot?' He thought to himself while he looked out to the scaffolding and bridges that go from the edge of the volcano to this strange metal building. He looked down and could see the molten lake, and it was then it clicked..... his semblance was worthless down here if they got into a battle. "Azura, Adam, if we get into a fight, you won't be able to count on me using my semblance...." He warned them prior, something he knew he should do regardless while he soon placed a hand on Azura, who was still reeling from her vomiting earlier as he began to listen to the young man who spoke about going in groups. Cecil felt inclined to agree as who knows how much weight the scaffolding and bridge could handle before it comes crashing down. "Very well, Team Dark will go." He announced to Darius while beginning to walk with Azura, motioning for Adam to follow them. It was going to be a dangerous trek, but he hoped they would be alright.

Charlotte Aoyama

[ P O S T ]

Charlotte danced her eyes over to Vance. Still looking hard for a few moments before she offered him a toothy grin. Her tail swaying slowly behind her. ” Why would I hurt you? You did not call down those rocks did you?” She then moved a little closer to the painter. Her eyes narrowed as she reached for her umbrella. Her hand snatching it out from swayin behind her. Spinning it around as she opened it. A few last segments of dirt falling from the ceiling and bouncing off the armoured layers. She then slowly breathed out and turned to look at lunia. Just in time to catch the hug as she let out a wince. ” I See” She said rather softly as lunia mentioned they had both been searching for her. Her eyes darting around to spot the other member of their team. Somewhat hope filled.

Then the lack of zylah hit her. The first thought coming to her mind that she didn't notice. The second that she didn't care like anyone else. Several others flashing through her mind as she went silent. Only glancing down at lunia as she spoke about zylah. Her body becoming a little more stiff. ”What do you mean.. Got hurt .. i .. failed to pro..” The shouting to get moving dragged her out of that chain of thoughts. The medics being denied in private as she just got cleaned up by them. Not healing anything as she headed back out to join everyone. HEr face rather. Distraught as she had a whirlwind of emotions. Though it all came to ahead in her as she heard a beeping from her scroll. So she pulled it out tilting he head over to one side. ”No pretty colours today.. Just a gas mask warning.. Shame..” Was her very simple words as she swapped her scroll for a very basic gasmask.

Her blood red eyes showing through the eyeholes. As she hissed through the respirator part. Her tail wagging menacing evilly behind her as she turned to look at lunia for a moment. Least before she fluttered her attention to vance who took a picture. Her head tilting over to the right hand side before she looked at Lunia ” I saw this on a .. thing on the moving picture box. Ehem… Are you my mummy?” She couldn't help but smirk to herself under the mask for a moment before she let the other two members of her team cross. She took up the rear as she was a little slower. Her wounds still twitching her but she wasn't letting it show too much.

Adam looks to Ridley as they prepare to put her on a stretcher. "I'm so freakin' sick of this!" he thought. He gripped his fist at her side looking to her unconscious body. He took in a breath and released it slowly. He smiled again and placed his hand atop hers. I'll see you when you wake up. "I acted pretty... what's a big word? 'Irrationally?'" he pondered. "Yeah. That's a good word. I acted irrationally a second ago, apparently. You're gonna get a laugh out of that when you wake up." he said. Talking to her in an unconscious state reminded him of her in the infirmary. "Just a bad luck magnet, hmm?" he hummed. Rachel's voice rang through his ears. As harsh as her words were...she was right. "We're gonna keep movin' forward. We'll see you in a bit." he said walking away from Ridley. Adam noticed Azura voiding her stomach contents. No doubt from seeing the corpse Adam just, sort-of, noticed. He just looked to the cadaver and kept walking. His stomach was stronger than you would think. Considering where he was from. He regrouped with Cecil and Azura and continued with the mission. "Hmm. It's getting hotter." he thought. A faint orange glow began to grow in intensity. Same with the heat. "Whoo! It's jumpin' in here!" he said fanning himself with the collar of his shirt. Upon reaching the end it was obvious where they were. A volcano. "Whaaaaat?" he drawled. He looked up to see it was sealed. "So all this heat is just trapped and circling in here? Great." he sarcastically thought. As his scroll beeped he threw on his mask; his body practically screaming at him to do so. His lungs in particular. Adam looked to his right and then his left and he saw a door and scaffolding. Sweet. Something started poking at his mind. He wasn't the brightest, but some red flags were going off. "Uhh. Why is there a door in a volcano?" he thought aloud. He raised his eyebrow at Cecil's observation. "True. But that's why we're a team. We have each others backs. Semblance or not we know you got this!" he said cracking his knuckles. Not too much longer after that Cecil volunteered DA(R)K to cross the scaffolding. Adam thought it was a good idea. Even if it weren't, someone would still need to do it. May as well be the best team at Beacon. They approached the scaffolding and he stepped onto it. So far so good. He kept a steady careful pace. He peered down below and whistled. "Yup. That's death." he thought. He wiped the sweet from his brow and kept it moving. "Man, it's hot!" he thought.

XXXThis was all a huge f**king mess. Something had caused a near cave in, eliminating nearly half the squad before the mission even got started. Rachel herself nearly killed herself in order to save one of the students, meanwhile, a small handful had been nearly crushed to death in the process. To make matters worse, some of them were too concerned with the injured and abandoned their posts, leaving them with even fewer bodies to work with. Apparently having a medic team on standby wasn't enough, no, they had to be special and go with their special somebody. First Felix, that horned twin that was quick on the draw with puns. Disappointing, really. Rachel could still vaguely remember what those wonder twins were capable of, even if she was a bloodthirsty psychopath when it all went down. Then Eve, a curious case that had been hurt worse than any of them yet came back spry and chipper. That woman could've survived anything if she tried, but she got herself overworked and nearly deranged the moment she found out her 'Adam' was hurt in all of this. Pathetic, but what could she do? It wouldn't do her any good to fight with a couple of teens just to get them to stay. If they acted like that at the first sign of trouble, it was best if they left or else they'd die in the process. Fine, whatever, it was time to move. She barked her orders, telling those who remained that they needed to get a move on. When she made her way to the Valian Knight who appeared oddly disoriented for a robot, she noticed its failure to respond to Azura. It's visor was riddled with cracks, metal was dented. Sparks continued to shoot out randomly from time to time as its functions continued to shut down. She groaned in frustration before smacking it in the back, making it stand up straight. She recognized this model, even if just barely from what little military training she had to retain in order to get her job title. "Send me with a babysitter and it breaks within five minutes. COME ON, BIG BIRD. You've got better than that!" She shouted in frustration, tapping a few keys as its visor reflected a series of lights. Then, without a word, the robot stood up straight and raised its rifle to its chest. It was functional, but different, ready to receive commands without a word. Rachel then stepped away from the robot, following the bloodied mess that Eve had left behind with a pinched nose, trying not to inhale the scent of blood. She first looked at the bloodied remains of a poor student, her crimson gaze wavering as her hues turned cyan once more. 'Should've gotten here sooner... Tch. That girl is as bad as I was...' Rachel would remember such vivid, but gruesome imagery. All the times that she had been sent into a frenzy, where the world blurred around her and all she could focus on was the smell, the taste. Wherever it came from, it just didn't matter. She'd leave everyone a bloodied mess of flesh, just like this one. But, in the end, it was causing such a mess that set her free... The last time she ever ripped someone so mercilessly to shreds was the very same who set her on that path. A man with spiked blue hair and deceivingly kind eyes, a way of words smooth as silk that concealed a forked tongue. Why couldn't she get that b*****d out of her head? Why was she constantly reminded of him, now more than ever? Gritting her serrated teeth, she'd turn away from the pile and instead grab Eve's limp and severed leg, throwing the hunk of flesh over her shoulder, splattering her anchor. "Don't ask. Pink the Freak was onto something." Using the dead or unneeded hunks of flesh was a smart way to go about activating her semblance. When available, anyway. It was better than risking taking a bite out of one of the students when push came to shove.

With everyone in tangent, or what was left, she as the woman in charge would lead the students deeper into the volcanic cave. It was way too hot for her liking and the air itself tasted absolutely wretched. She could feel her lungs shriveling upon first inhale, just as a series of scrolls went off and even Valian let up a signal. It was time to mask up. She'd pull the mask from her bag, all her rations already gone from snacking. Holding the mask to her face for only a moment, she groaned in frustration. This thing wouldn't fit, not with her jaw structure. Clearly frustrated, she'd turn towards the cliffside before chucking the mask over edge to a molten demise. "Dumbasses are trying to kill me..." Not that she cared. If she crossed the bridge and got inside that door, did it even matter? Rachel turned on her heel, stopping the robot in its place. "I really don't like you. You're staying here. The last thing we need is a worthless hunk of bolts on the second sketchiest walk of my life. Stay. Put." The shark woman made very clear as she proceeded to tap another arrangement of keys on its back. To which the robot would simply stand in place, rifle placed along its side while its hands rested idly unless necessary to complete its self-repairs. The woman was ready to make her way across before the prior student in distress voiced a concern. He might've been onto something, with the bridge looking like a rickety mess, but that didn't change her mind about going. "Sure, whatever kid. Might as well go one at a time like getting lunch in the cafeteria. Last thing we need is to take a bath that's a little too hot." The woman scowled, stepping forward onto the scaffolding bridge as she began to make her way across. "Look at it this way, if one of us take a spill, at least you'll get to have the warmest bath of your life." Perhaps her cracking jokes about falling to their doom was uncalled for, but, if it got them across then what did it matter? Rachel had a good sense of balance, all things considered, but knew better than to teeter near the edge with her weight. She'd press forward towards the door on the other side of the molten lake.

Self diagnostic & Repair / / / Command Override

Reboot. Start Up. Initiate Self Repair. Follow the professor's lead, provide aid when capable. The robot had limited functionalities for the moment while its main priority had shifted to focusing on self repair. Bits of sparks would erupt from its visor and other parts of its body on occasion. If one watched closely, they may be able to see a series of small moving parts focusing on welding and rebuilding certain functionalities of the machine. Still, despite being on standby, the machine would follow the inputted commands by the professor and continue to walk with them. If anything, it would act as an additional body for the group, as well as a means to collect data on the event as a whole. The military wanted this operation done, and any information they could provide about what went wrong would be invaluable. Following Rachel's lead, the robot would step in sequence behind the woman, assisting her in leading the students. Though the machine had no current way to voice the changes it was detected, it became clear to all about the consistent heat rise. In addition, the air was continually becoming more toxic with every moment they descended further into the volcanic cavern. Soon enough, the light that the machine provided from its head became useless, as the entrance to the cavern would light up from the intense head of the magma below. With a final spark, range of motion had been restored to its left arm which would then raise in order to alert the students. In that same moment, a series of scrolls would resonate with a warning about the toxic fumes in the volcanic air. The provided gasmask was becoming a necessity for them to proceed forward, something that even Rachel had acknowledged.

The Valian Knight would look upon the scaffolding bridge. Normally the machine would be able to give it a proper analysis, determining the stability of the bridge, the weight it could maintain, as well as the probability of collapse under a hundred different circumstances. Unfortunately, though, the machine was unable to do anything of the sort. Not while the repairs were still underway. Instead, the robot stood in place silently as it lowered its left arm, Rachel standing before it and keeping her hand against its chest. The woman appeared to detest the machine, a consistent fact that would surely be made clear to its superiors once the mission was complete. It seemed, however, the woman was still willing to use the machine. A new set of commands were inputted on its back. Standby. Guard. Repair. It now had a new purpose to guard the opening of the cavern while the teacher and students would proceed in further. It had no response for the woman. It merely stood there as another spurt of sparks lit up on its visor.

It appeared that more students were eager to get across than others. Though Rachel proceeded first, other students had raced past her in order to reach the other side. It seemed that with each step, the bridge would creak after being unused for so many years. That, mixed with the heat it was constantly exposed to, it was a surprise that the bridge could even maintain the weight of so many. Watching from the entrance, a final spark would flash on its visor. 'Essential Repairs Complete. External Sensory, Operational. Communication Systems, Rebooting. Probability Detection, Operational. AI Functionality, Operational.' ... They had reached the cavern. How long had the machine been on standby? The machine wasn't informed prior that the teacher would know how to operate it manually. Whatever the reasoning behind this, it didn't matter now. One thing it could note in an instant was Rachel's own lack of mask, while the students crossed the bridge in a disorganized manner. The machine intended to step forward, but the manual controls were still in place, initially preventing it from proceeding. 'Immenient danger of the standing leader detected, manual override permitted.' From the cracks in its visor, sparks would illuminate as Rachel's command was overridden. It's first step would be unstable, as breaking command always caused its network to struggle with new processes. Once the first step was taken, though, it was as if the network of commands shattered as the robot proceeded forward at a brisk pace. Its steps were calculated carefully as it began to sprint across the bridge in pursuit. On its side, in a pouch of items that were provided in an emergency, it would begin to pull out a steel mask that oddly matched the similarities of Rachel's steel combat mask that she often wore to prevent biting students. One that was specially designed for her in this mission, due to the odd structure of her jaw and the necessity of being able to use her teeth on a whim. Only the machine hadn't been able to give her prior due to the collapsing cavern and prior damage. Once the machine had managed to finally catch up to Rachel, its free hand would reach to grab her wrist with a tight, metallic grip. This stopped the woman in her tracks, as she was even unable to pull away from the strength of a determined machine. 'Communication System, Operational. A voice like static would sound from the machine, clearly distorted from prior damage, but salvaged in working order. "Professor Anderson, I need a word with you immediately."
