Amasis Goldfish games! Loren loved goldfish games! Granted, that was partly because they were a recurring trope in his favourite dating sim games, but he couldn't deny the excitement when he saw the booth for catching swimming goldfish. There was absolutely no hesitation in his step as he hurried over to get in line. The best part, to him, was that he'd get a goldfish if he won (or even a koi). His parents would be bemused at best for him to bring it home, but he was excited at the prospect. Besides, it wasn't like he was a little kid. They'd be okay with it as long as he took care of it and bought the things to keep it alive.
And not a tiny, tiny bowl, either. He knew the "1-inch-1-gallon" rule.
Oh, it was finally his turn! He took the balls and gazed up into the tank of water with the fish in it, watching the fish swim around. Loren studied each one, trying to figure out which fish he wanted to try and take home with him. That one had more energy, but that one was actually seeming to interact with the people playing the game...
And there was the koi, of course.
Speaking of, it was his turn, and he should probably actually play the game. Focusing, he gave a toss for each of the balls he'd been given. Two of them actually got really close! But not close enough, and he didn't actually win a goldfish. Well, okay, it could have been worse. He was definitely going to try that again.
(266) Sure enough, Loren had gotten back in line to try that again. Taking careful aim, he tossed out the balls, trying to get into the bowls he needed to get a goldfish. The first one bounced off the edge of the bowl, and Loren held his breath for a second as he hoped the bowl wouldn't tip over. Luckily it resettled, and Loren threw the second. It gave him pretty much the same result, bouncing off the bowl's rim and not actually going in. He puffed air through pursed lips. He only had one ball left, and his prospects weren't looking terribly great if he was honest with himself. Alright... time to take another deep breath and see if he could actually get. The. Ball. In. The. Bowl. No. Okay then. Another puff of air, and Loren immediately turned to get back in line. (144)

So still two fish and only two...so sad. Offering up some more money, he'd regret all this later, Xi-Wang took the offered ping pong balls and with a glance to his bagged fishies he threw the balls, hoping to get them a friend. He really did want to get them a friend...so it wasn't just two in the bowl, or tank, that he'd have to get for them. never mind the fact he could purchase more fish later at an actual pet shop...or a fish store. Though maybe Nischal would take him...or Jason? Ohh or maybe he could ask Kit?

It seemed like once was all the luck he was going to get, but Owen was surprisingly alright with that. Still, maybe he could keep trying. Even fish did better with a friend, right? If nothing else, failing as he had just done (again) meant he had more chance to work on his aim. (Alright, maybe that was a stretch to justify that he was starting to get kind of addicted to trying...)

With an angry huff, Vivi tried one more time and...she...she won? SHE WON!!! "Yes!" She shouted happily, ignoring the stares of other booth patrons, taking her new prize in hand. If she didnt win the fish a friend here, she knew goldfish were pretty inexpensive at the pet store, and could take some money she got from her job to buy a nice tank and plants. Oh, she had so many plans now.

Oh, no!Perhaps he was pushing his luck, he thought, as he watched his next flight of airy balls miss their mark. He thought of quitting. Surely, he couldn’t do it. But he did have tickets left... That’s it! He would just have to keep trying until his tickets ran out. Besides, he didn’t have anything better to do. ✪

Three fish, none of which she wanted to trade. So, concept: win some extra burner fish to trade for a koi. Made sense, right? Now the only catch was that she had to actually win them. After her next few tosses, it looked like that might take a while...

Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy Stump_Fairy "Hiya!" Evren yelled on her turn as she threw the ping pong balls. Only to give a sigh of defeat when none of them entered in any fish bowls. Puckering her lips as it seems she wasn't freeing any fish this round. "Yah!" The sounds Evren made were way to over dramatic as she just threw all the balls at once instead of one at a time like a normal person. This time she was lucky enough to get one into one of the bowls. She smiled as she was handed a goldfish. Evren stared blankly. "Unfortunately, Sir Buttonwood one of you does not a rescue mission make... I must win more so we may release you a proper tank because it's not a good idea to just randomly throw fish into a river." Evren threw all the balls and none of them went into any. Letting out a breath of air her bangs. Holding the goldfish closer to her chest she squinted. "We're going to win another friend Sir Buttonwood... or go broke trying." It seemed Evren was determined to go through with operation save the fish and put them in a bigger tank. Evren once again threw the balls into the bowls. And this time she managed to get another ball in one of the bowls. With a smile, she took the goldfish handed to her. "Alright with Sir Buttonwood and Lady Evalyn and together we shall collect even more fish!" Yes, she was just beginning on her crusade to free these fish. With a huff, Evren managed to miss all the bowls she was aiming for this round of throws. Holding onto the bags that held the goldfish she decided to back away from the game and get some snacks before coming back to try and get some more fish. Evren returning to the ball toss with goldfish in hand. Placing them down on the corner she looked determined as she was handed another three balls. This time she decided to throw each one at a time. Of course, though each time she missed puckering her lips she sighed and picked up her fish to go wait her turn for her next throws. Once again Evren got to the bowl toss and operation save the fish was once again in full throttle. Tossing the three balls Evren missed the target every time the balls bouncing off the sides onto the ground. "Shoot..."

Alas, poor goldfish! It was beginning to seem like he was destined to be an only fish. If he survived the week. Owen still wasn't sure the little orange creature had any sort of chance to make it, but with his aim still off like this, the idea of a buddy to give him a reason to live looked like it wasn't going to pay off.

Still only two fish...and he really wanted another one. He knew, somewhere in the back of his mind, that they weren't likely to last long...but he was sure he could beat those odds. Either way that was all in the back of his mind. He was more focused on winning another little gold fish for himself, so he easily handed over the money so he could toss more balls.
With more ping pong balls in hand he tossed them gently, trying to toss them down into the bowls.

This time...this time, Brendan didn't have a ******** clue how he had managed to pull off the same maneuver not twice but three times in a row. Why couldn't it have been the winning sort so he could get this over with and move on? How much money had he blitzed through as it was?
He had to remember not to curse in front of the kids.
