Elsbeth's eyes widen a little at the beauty of the Wardwood. The night she'd found Kugrah had been magical, but today seems almost to match that beauty. The deep, purple shadows and rich foliage call to her, and she moves forward silently with her guardian as they scan the trees for any sight of a fox and then --
her breath catches a little as she happens upon the creature. It stands there as if it had been there all along, and perhaps it had. It's coat blends in well enough with the underbrush and then, before she can urge Kugrah forward it darts away into the deep shadows.
"After it, Kugrah! I've never seen a fox with glowing eyes before... let's see where it's headed, shall we?"

Either due to luck or your own tracking skills you discover a fine hair caught low to the ground on a branch, almost invisible against the mottled loam of the forest floor. This is good evidence of an animal's trail.

Through the swirling mist, Stephen spotted something ahead. He squinted, trying to make the object out before approaching. Was it Fallon? Perhaps. Slowly, he pressed forward, only to find the object was nothing more than the skeleton of a long dead animal. Peculiarly, a rose grew through the empty eye socket. Did it mean something? Stephen shrugged; probably not. Shaking his head, Stephen continued on.

You pause for a moment to get your bearings and cannot resist taking in the breathtaking beauty of the autumnal wood. Even with the weather overcast the vivid scarlets and yellows of the foliage are as rich as dyed velvet against the gray sky and the black trunks of the trees. Gazing into the infinite reaches of the forest is like looking into stained glass…
When you turn back around an enormous fox with a luxurious pelt is standing directly in your path, watching you. Its eyes seem amused, somehow. It quickly dashes off into the undergrowth before you can react — but at least now you have a pretty good idea of where you should be heading.
You win four points this turn.

After walking for quite some time, Euphemia came to a stop and sighed. "I don't know why we bothered to follow that noise; whatever it was is probably long gone by now..." Defeat stung in her chest and she cross her arms gently, looking at Felix. Daphne let out an annoyed snort, toeing the ground with her hoof and sending urging thoughts Euphemia's way. "Daphne, it's pointless..."
The soft panting drew her attention away, however, and she looked up. A hawk, blood dripping from its feathers, perched on a nearby branch. She gasped, putting a hand to her throat. "Oh, the poor thing... Did your owner abandon you?" She asked, though expected no response. She glanced at Felix, her brows drawing together. "Felix, what do we do? We can't just leave it!" The tall man screwed up his mouth slightly as he looked at the bird, sighing. "It's too high to reach, and we don't have anything to lure it down..." He experimentally held out his arm for the bird, but it received little reaction other than a pained squawk. After a few minutes more of trying, after even Daphne had tried by bleating at the bird, they gave up. Euphemia gave the bird one last long look, apologized, before the trio continued on.
((I've decided not to take one of the hawks, and the points instead! Thank you! > u <))

(Ahhh! Gosh, I feel so bad, but no thank you ;; I'm holding out for one of the foxes <3) As unusual as the fairy circle full of rabbits was, Theron was more unsettled than anything. Fairy rings were bad luck, and the large eyes of Wardwood rabbits could seem almost human. He stopped in his tracks, holding his hands up to show that they were empty and he meant no ill will, before carefully backing out of the clearing. Luckily, the trail he'd been following meandered away from that fairy ring, and he was able to pick it back up again and follow it without much trouble.

The trees in this area of the wood are ancient and dense enough to block out most of the light. The floor is carpeted in a rich coating of moss and fallen leaves, all a deep shade of scarlet. Eventually you become aware of a low whispering sound coming from above you. You look up.
There is something pale and strange in the dark webwork of branches, something moving… you receive the impression of long, crooked fingers like broken twigs, bright eyes that seethe with malice; it is whispering at you…
When you come back to yourself no time seems to have passed at all, but the look of the sky and the numbness of your legs suggest that you have been standing in the same spot, motionless, for several minutes. Something distracted you, but you can't remember what it was.
Reaching down to rub the numbness from her legs, Soibhan tried to gather her suddenly scattered thoughts. What a strange sensation. It was as if she had a very small blank spot in her memory and it felt disconcerting. Rolling her shoulders, she turned in the direction she thought she had been going and started off again, finding that the wee prints started up again a dozen paces away.

Wardwood Mule You hear the loud pop of a branch breaking deeper in the forest. After a moment of consideration, taking in the dense bluish mist rising from the forest floor, you set off in the sound's direction. It could be nothing, but it's worth investigating… as long as you're careful.
You win two points this turn.
Total points: 2 Despite living by Wardwood forest all her life, Kristine realized that this was the first time she had actually ever been inside of it. It always seemed foreboding to her. She took one slow step after another in the direction of the sound. After a short while, her confidence grew, and she picked up the pace a little. Kristine kept her eyes open for branches that could snare her, and her ears open for any hostile creatures that could be nearby. She knew that if anything happened in here, she would be dead. No one would would be able to find her. Still though, she knew she would never be happy unless she satisfied this curiosity.

You happen upon a clearing. At the very center lies a fairy circle of mushrooms, unusually large, and within it several rabbits, which are all staring at you. Their gaze is unsettling. They seem to know something. 1. Amorpheous 2. Chrystali 3. Umbrology 4. Amorpheous 5. Chrystali All five rabbits are companion pets, not familiars! You may choose to either take a rabbit or walk away with two points. Please quote me with your decision! If you choose a rabbit, provide your order of preference (omitting any you aren't interested in). If we don't hear back from you within 24 hours, you will be given two points and the game will move on. Rabbits whose uncert links are crossed out have already been claimed.

Mist began rising from the damp forest floor not too long ago; now it's all around you, muting the autumn colors behind a ghostly bluish veil. You can still see well enough to stick to the path you've chosen, but as you walk or ride on you begin to catch glimpses of something white showing through the sparse yellow leaves of a buckthorn hedge.
You investigate.
Unfortunately it is only the skeleton of a large stag, stripped of flesh but otherwise almost perfectly intact; time has bleached its bones to the stark paleness that distracted you. A single wild rose has grown up through one of its eye sockets.
You do not win or lose any points this turn.

You have reached a creek. Its narrow length is lined with rocks and moss, and bright autumn leaves meander downstream, turning languidly in the current. As you draw nearer you notice faint markings in the mud between two rocks: fox prints, almost entirely worn away by time. They aren't recent, but knowing the animal's preferred path is still somewhat useful.
You win one point this turn.
