"BLOODY HELL!" Before Alexiel could even respond to the man, her horse had been hit. This was not going to be good... this was not going to be good at all. The horse's legs gave way beneath it and Alex didn't have time to react in any way other than to just barely slow it's rate of decent. The animal's body came down with her still in the saddle, her left leg trapped underneath it. Luckily, her leg was not completely crushed and if she could continue to hold the horse up just enough to keep her leg from being broken, long enough for someone to get the beast off of her, she might actually be able to walk afterwards...
"Someone get this horse off me! For God's sake, get it off of me!" Alex was screaming and trying her damndest to keep the horse's weight off of her leg.

Of all the---!
He reared back his right arm, gripping onto his Fang tightly with just one arm, breaking breaking into a clean run towards the jeep.
He had to weigh his choices quickly and matter of factly; go after the trinket that had just been taken from out under his nose or save his would-be partner.
Unfortunately for Owle, there would be no answer to her shout. He didn't even have the time to wonder how she suddenly popped into his head; apparently every female had the ability to jack into a man's head.
"Get----"
Flinging his right arm forward as he suddenly skidded and braked to a smoking stop, his Fang went sailing forward, spiraling through the air like a missile.
It's velocity and rate of travel would force it to slice through the air, narrowly avoiding Flare's head, and going right through the side of the jeep, again, miraculously avoiding peircing anyone as it tore through the metal and aimed to impact right against the back of the one who'd mooned him, challenged him, and now shot out at his partner.
"----AWAY!!"
Following the sword's path would a blazing trail of blackened flames, which were grasped onto tightly at their point of origin by Vahn's left hand.

Allen saw the bird, and cursed. But kept moving. This strain on his wings...wasn't doing much good to his healing. In fact, like the last time he flew and exerted himself too much, his still healing wounds were tearing open again.
A few drops of blood seeped out from the scales, splatting to the ground even as Allen made his way into the Boardwalk area.

Jacknife jumped over the front of the jeep and ran to Alex. His eyes flashed purple and the horse shifted slightly so he could pull her out from under it. He kept hold on her though, and a knife flashed through the air and stopped next to her neck. "Now, everyone cease combat." He said, he also sent it mentally to everyone in the area to make sure they heard. His teal would stop. He hoped the fireman would stop too, now that he had a hostage.
The fang hit the side of the jeep with a clatter and fell to the ground. The jeep's paint was badly scratched, and there was a small dent, but those kevlar side pannels had done their job well.

Flare was no idiot...as Vahn turned toward the jeep, she launched herself off it. She wasn't particularly indebted to any of the people inside...and as much as she wanted to skewer Vahn, she wanted to survive till the end of the game more.
Allen, on the other hand...she did owe a debt to, particularly if his wings were still not fully healed. She hadn't the faintest idea how far away he could get, and only a glimpse to tell her which direction he was heading.
She flew off, hopefully out of Vahn's immediate reach, in the direction she thought she saw him.
((Dice roll is for my own good luck.))

Bloody hell. That was all she seemed to be able to say at the moment. She had gone from the frying pan straight to the fire. 'If this your plan to stop the fighting... I don't think it's going to work...' Mental speech was so much better in Alexiel's opinion. So much more direct and quicker.
She was greatly perturbed now. First the guy holding her hostage had shot at her bird, then that a*****e had taken out her horse, and now she was being held hostage. And all of this just so she could find Sejai... Did this game ever end?

It needs to work. We cant waste all our time fighting here while other people with less than savoury intentions get the petals.
The pistol was floating in the air behind the two, following Vahn with it's barrel. If he needed to shoot quickly he could.

Time to settle the dispute and try to talk her friend into walking away while she was still in-tact.'Devil... perhaps we might better go our own way for now...' Alexiel honestly did not like the idea of being between the guy with the knife at her throat and her fiery companion.
She addressed the man holding her hostage again. 'If I can get him to back down... can we all go our separate ways? No harm, no foul?'

Agreed. You get him to stop, and we can all leave. I'm just doing my job, and that does not have to include harming you or him. He thought to Alex.
Guys, keep him from doing anything. Dont shoot at him unless he shoots at you.

Right, see, finally someone's got their mind on track. Nascen sent back to Jacknife. He stood up, hopping off beside the jeep and not bothering to draw his staff or gun.
"You, Mr. Vahn, I believe I saw you at the Firebrand. We have no interest in continuing this mass misunderstanding." He shot a warning look to Masuyu before he inflamed things again. "And we don't intend to waste any more time, I'd figure you also would like to be out getting a petal right now." Can't trust this guy with anything, that's for sure, so at least we won't risk him backstabbing us, we already know he can't be trusted a wit. I thought Owle had him hired to help her too, and here he is on his own... fool, jerk, and crap mercenery. Who's gonna hire you if you won't do your job? "If you're so angry about the mooning, you'll have to be happy with my cutting Masuyu's pay for misconduct. Now, put the blade away, and we live here in opposite directions, a'ight?" Nascen said, looking at Vahn flatly. If the man did a single arcanly related thing, used any noticable magic, Nascen was prepared mentally to shut it down instantaniously. This was wasting time and energy.

'Might help if you all lowered all your weapons... and I dunno... let the hostage go?' Again, she was talking to her captor and it was just a suggestion. Holding a hostage wasn't exactly a show of good faith.

Nothing personal, but I know this guy, and I dont trust him an inch. When he puts everything up and walks away, you go with him. I have allready told all of them to lower their weapons, and they have. They are solely on defence now in case he tries anything.

((I'm not even going to bother arguing about how you think some kevlar side panels halted the full momentum of my sword.))
Yanking back with his left hand, he tugged what appeared to be a lengthy chain composed of black flames. The chain would come dangerously close to Nascen's right cheek, even as the Fang eventually found itself back in Vahn's grip.
Oh boy, what a mess.
What a mess.
It was apparently a stand off, with his partner held hostage, her horse shot dead and now these guys telling him what to do.
The grip on his Fang tightened considerably.
Enough to actually make his palm bleed.
His head was slightly lowered as he began making his way forward. Each step he took actually made the ground underneath him smoke, imprints of his greave's soles left behind in his wake. The Fang was slung over both shoulders, resting, yet his guard never let down.
What did Nascen know? What did Nascen honestly know about Vahn?
Absolutely nothing.
And yet the manner in which he spoke and way he stared down at Vahn seemed to imply the swordsman was nothing but scum underneath his boots. And yet he passed judgement.
Did it ever occur to the man that maybe he was working on his own for Owle's benefit, instead of clustering around her and doing nothing but following her around like a love sick puppy? Did it ever occur to him that he was severely underestimating someone like Vahn?
Maybe he was right.
Maybe Vahn was a devil, a b*****d, heartless to the fifth degree.
Then wouldn't that mean that he would not hesitate in slaughtering them all where they stood? Did he honestly have enough confidence to stand up against Vahn with that almighty on high attitude he was coping.
"You should count yourselve's fortunate."
He continued moving forward, his gaze never dropping from where his companion was.
"If you had shot and shot, all your little guns with all your little tricks... and I had still been standing... You would have all died the moment you went to reload. Especially if she wasn't here."
Now... there was a point where one's words would just be cocky.
Just a badass attitude.
But in all honesty, all god-given honesty on the part of the author... these words were nothing but truth.
That should have been more than enough for all the men present to realize just what kind of danger they had narrowly avoided.
Vahn had no fear of their guns, or of being outnumbered.
It was them that should have been afraid at that very moment.
On the life of the author, this is sworn. Had circumstances been different, not matter how much blood he lost... he would have killed all of them.
"Get lost. Now."
