The Marketplace - Gambino The marketplace in Gambino is nothing short of a glorified strip mall. The stores are arranged in a row, with a sidewalk in front. Strip malls are typically developed as a unit and have large parking lots in front. They face major traffic arterials and tend to be self-contained with few pedestrian connections to surrounding locations. Here, one can find seasonal beach clothing, as well as gear for surfing or other 'fun in the sun' activities. The Gambino bank can also be found here, as well as numerous upon numerous of Gaians hawking items for sale or trade in homemade stalls. Some like to call it the world's largest flea market.

opaj blinked his eyes open. Glancing around, he discovered that he had been quite asleep in the middle of the Gambino Marketplace. His hand immediately felt the floor around him- his three blades were by his side. The swordsman let out a sigh of relief.
Climbing to his feet, he attempted to get his bearings. Last thing he recalled was curling up next to Angelbell the night before. He had resolved to do everything in his power to protect Owle from the threat of the petals. Looking down, he realized that his outfit had changed substantially. Black jacket, black boots, black jeans. His torso was completely wrapped in bandages- a combat precaution to prevent him from excessive blood loss caused by his own techniques. Feeling his head, opaj discovered that he was wearing Ballin' Black Head Gear (TM) in addition to his glasses.
"Well then, guess I'd better find the others..."

opaj looked down at the pretty kitty.
"Meow...?" Hunching over, he reached out to pet it. "You want something to eat, kitty? Shall I get you some fish?"

"Meow..." The kitty looked up and grinned, large vicious canines gleaming red for just a second before it lunged at Opaj's face, claws and fangs bared. "MEOW!!!"

The foul smell of something rotten hit Angel's nose. She clambered to her feet and looked around to find a pail of fish guts next to her. Scratching her head lightly, she looked up at the store that she stood beside, wondering to herself how she ended up in the Marketplace.
"Maybe I bumped my head?" She mumbled under her breath as she turned to take in her surroundings. Her ear then began to twitch at what sounded like a...cat fight.

"Gyah!" If it hadn't been for the cat's second-long change of countenance, opaj would have been caught completely off-guard. He took a quick jump back, immediately drawing the double-edged katana Keppashiri and attempting to render the kitty in two with a single fluid motion.

And said kitty did split in two...into two kitties that is. Both of which were headed towards Opaj's face. But their momentum was cut short and instead they latched onto his jacket. Still scurrying and screetching as they tried to clamber towards him, half the size of the first kitty, but now twice the number.

The smell of rotten fish was getting to Angel and so was the sound of this cat or cats fighting. She ran her fingers through her hair, hoping she didn't look frumpy from sleeping on the floor and hopefully didn't smell like fish.
Slowly, she rounded the corner and found opaj, being attacking by cats. "opaj!" She squeaked and ran towards him, afraid to use any magic. If she strikes one with a ball of fire, no telling if it'd hit opaj too.

"Frackin'-" opaj grasped for the nape of one of the cat's neck with his left hand, simultaneously sticking Keppashiri into the ground with the other- the blade slid readily through the wooden planks. While he tried to pry the cat away from his shirt with his left, he grabbed for the other with his now-free right hand.
"Friggin... freaks! Gah!"

And just as quickly, they turned into two fluffballs. Like those fluffy cartoon cats that get stuck in the dryer.
"Meow...."
No teeth, claws or otherwise in sight. And for some strange reason, they were now pink.

"That is so odd.." Angel commented, hesitantly moving towards opaj. The cats were now cute little cats. "Maybe they are hungry?" She asked opaj, not knowing that these two cats were one, prior to his attack.
"I do believe I have some treats in my bag," she said as she fumbled with her bag hanging over her shoulders.

"Evil. Prepare a fireball." opaj's voice was deathly stern. "Now."
He had underestimated these things, and it was a safe bet that 99% of the things he could do to put them down would only make them multiply. The other 1% fell under the category of 'last ditch effort' techniques.
"When you're ready, I'll throw them in the air, on a count of three." It occured to him then that they very well might be able to understand English.

"Meow..."
Out of the now flufflball furries peered two sets of big brown eyes that looked at Opaj and mewed pathetically. One pair from each fluffball for clarification.
"Meww..."

"What?" Angel blinked her blue orbs at opaj before moving them onto the cats. "They look so harmless. You sure they aren't just really hungry?"
She found some jerky in her bag and kneeled towards the cats. "This Marketplace reeks of fish, maybe they smelt it on you.." Looking back up at opaj she smiled positively, almost sure that the cats were hungry.
