Yazira was somewhat surprised to see such a straightforward assault from this veteran Hunter. In reaction she sidestepped to the right and brought her left scimitar over and around in a counterclockwise motion intended to catch his blades and deflect them down to the side. Meanwhile her right scimitar straightened out to her side and she prepared to throw a stab of her own.

Hiro nodded. "Ah I see." he replied. He had not been assigned to a team just yet. They were probably calculating his abilities and balancing them with the proper teammates who would best complement together. As a guardian, he was certain he would be placed with at least one other hunter. The second he wasn't sure of. Perhaps another hunter or maybe another guardian like himself.
He supposed it would be some time before the results would be given. In the mean time it would be best to make use of his down time to get accustomed to the new surroundings, familiarize himself among his new brothers and sisters while getting to know their abilities as well as train hard. Who knew when he first assignment would be.

Drustwn tightened his grip on the blades as Yazira's scimitar swept them aside. His feet had barely touched the ground when he suddenly had to arch backwards as Yazira's other blade stabbed at him. His eyes were wide as he watched the blade push just past his nose before bringing up one of his own blades to knock it aside and straighten up again. That was a close call...simple and strong was apparently not a good road with this one.
They were closer now than before, and Drustwn stepped in closer, his swords still held in reverse. He gritted his teeth as he began throwing punches while still holding the blades. His fists a danger on the inside, the swords edges on the outer...

Yazira hated when her enemies got in too close. It generally meant that the battle was going to devolve into dirty fighting, elbows, knees, and teeth; rather than actual skill. She parried the first set of strikes by blocking with her blades close to the guard on both her own and the opposing swords. As soon as the blades recoiled from the strike she followed suit to her opponent and spun her blades around in her hands. She held her sword angled back so that the dull back edges rested against her forearms allowing her to use them as effective shields with her whole body weight behind them.
Seeing a momentary gap between strikes she dropped to the ground, underneath an incoming swing, crossed her blades above her head and pivoted on one heel, swinging her other leg around to try to catch the older Hunter behind his heel and pull his leg out from beneath him.

Drustwn threw punches at the younger girl again and again, trying to connect with his fists while trusting his blades on the outsides to keep her hedged in. He expected her to follow suit, and she mostly did so, folding her blades back against her arms and blocking his attacks using her own blades to catch his. What he hadn't expected was Yazira to suddenly drop low, blocking his next swing with crossed blades, and sweeping his heels out from under him.
Drustwn wuffed aloud as his back hit the ground, but wasted no time as he placed his hands beside his head and brought his legs up. Instead of kicking back to his feet, Drustwn rolled on his shoulders and swung his legs wide in a spinning kick to keep her at bay to buy time to regain his footing.

Yazira actually had not been expecting her sweep to connect, and was pleased that she had been able to outmaneuver the wily old man. When he rolled back onto his shoulders and threw a kick at her she simply raised her arm to block. After the kick connected she would rise back to her feet and go on the offensive once again with her blades while she held the high ground.

Hiro could see that these training sessions might take a little longer than he had anticipated. He decided that it would probably be a good time to familiarize himself with the building and where the important locations were including clinical facilities, the dorms, and where the could find additional information. "Well it was nice speaking with you and I hope we can train together some time." he said as he excused himself form the others.
Taking his leave he left the training area to explore what the facility had to offer.

Drustwn managed to get his feet back under him in time to meet the first of the blades descending towards him. He swung his own swords one after the other to meet Yashira's attacks, fighting slowly back up to a standing position.
He gritted his teeth as his arms swung, turning her blades away again and again. He wasn't a young man any longer, and he'd already been in two fights already. Yashira was making him work harder than the others had, and he was beginning to feel it.
In one quick moment he feinted left, and when Yashira reciprocated with a blade, Drustwn batted it from the outside and spun along her body like an opposing gear, and brought in his weapon from behind for a back attack. He flipped the blade backwards, however, to jab at her with the handle instead of the blade, not wanting to hurt her that badly...

Yazira had gotten so into the movements of her blades. Striking, withdrawing, parrying. Blades rolling over and over each other in a nearly continual flow of steel that she was thrown off beat by Drustwn's feint and successive batting of her blade.
As he began to spin about she knew she had no choice but to follow suit and go with the momentum of the batted blade. As she spun she brought up her left scimitar to deflect the strike she was sure was incoming. Then, as her left arm came around to the point where she knew she should connect and parry Drustwn's blade she was surprised to find that she connected with nothing but air. continuing her circuit she saw the reason why. The older Hunter led with the pommel, instead of the blade, meaning that she had missed parrying his strike by well over a foot.
She gritted her teeth, knowing that she was about to take a solid hit, and that it was going to hurt.

Drustwn's eyes widened when he saw Yazira mistake his attack, and then rammed his handle forward as hard as he could into her body. He wasn't about to waste this gift of an opening and hold back. As he felt the impact shiver up his arm, he attempted to slip the other blade around to rest it along her throat. If he succeeded, this might end the entire battle...

Yazira took the sword pommel straight in the ribs and felt the air blast out of her lungs from the impact. Involuntarily she also doubled over. She maintained enough presence of mind to haphazardly swing her right scimitar up over her body crossways to at least attempt to guard from a follow up strike.

Drustwn's blade connected with the hastily blocking scimitar, but as Yazira still struggled to catch her breath, Drustwn stepped behind her and pressed the point of his other blade against her ribs,"Valiant effort...but mayhap we are done...We go much harder and one of us might end up seriously hurt."
He nudged her ribs for emphasis, but his tone was not smug. He was trying to hide the weariness he felt. He wasn't getting any younger, and this girl definitely was testing his ability.
