“I have foreseen your destruction.”

A frown crossed Rivkah's face at his reasoning for the rampage and shook her head. It shockedf her how very little it made sense. "So, instead of grieving and honouring her life, you go on a murderous rampage to become just like the people who killed her? Instead of serving justice, you tell your droves of men to rip her teeth from her skull and give her to them to rape and beat and torture as they please... Yes, you are so worthy of the title of lord."

She returned her full attention to Blood and smiled. "Then I am even more in your debt. However, I did not mean to be such a bother, nor for you to get hurt in the process of saving my life. If the room hadnt been crowded with so many, well, I would have been able to see to get myself out... I am truly sorry," Rivkah decided to not point out she already knew the lady's name, as well as what she was. It was not pertinent.

The Void Lord scowled at Gerdane's words of the Legion's continued harassment. The moment the wilder held out the weapon in his hand and spoke of the stranger, that expression vanished into exhausted disbelief. As Krayth took the other Exodus in his free hand, Beyruun twisted its misty orb to regard the weapon with intrigue. It had not seen another Exodus since Krayth's mother was murdered... and Krayth himself had not seen another Anima. It was too much to take in. He continued to stare at the weapon; feeling its weight and balance in his hand and the creature's own discomfort at being in his hands. It was beyond surreal. Krayth only caught a few of the words that came from Adellos, but it was when he looked up from the weapon to its master that he completely lost sight of the world around him.

The Desert Lord heard the Anima speaking, but the meaning of his words was lost in his utter shock. This was one of the Dark Avengers he sensed in the Arena... but it was not that knowledge that deprived him of breath and thought. The soul in front of him was not only bound to The Dark... it was stitched to the same black thread. The very same Master. "You serve Ba'Shev... you..." The Lord swooned back a step, his legs struggling to keep him upright as the gravity of his injuries became harder and harder to ignore. He looked from Blood to Adellos to Kinetav as though none of this was real. It was possible his dementia had overcome him... but it hadn't. This was irrefutably real. "Blood... this is one of them. He and I, we... he serves my master... " He could hardly comprehend that this Anima claimed to be from another planet, let alone that some strand of fate had twined their paths together under their shared bondage to The Black Shev'Axjrum.

The projection from his gauntlet hardly registered in Krayth's sight. His mind was overwhelmed by all of the day's events, and this alone would be enough to astonish him for a week. Then Liliana arrived, her words ripping him from his inner descent to see the figures crowding around him. It was difficult to focus. "I have not... my people give her their justice now." The Lord shut his eyes and attempted a deep breath. His ribs caught on one another and her clutched his side as he hacked blood into his hand, the breath lost... the cold cutting. Beyruun stretched to the floor, seeking to support its brother as an abstract crutch. "Adellos... retrieve Sephra. Her execution is nigh." The one eyed wilder looked from Krayth to Kinetav, his face burdened with concern for his Lord's condition.

"Rest, Valdiir. I will fetch her..." He bowed his head and moved for the exit as Krayth refocused on Kinetav. The elder held out the fledgling Anima's Exodus, indicating that he might take it. His expression was too filled with pain, exhaustion, anger, and grief to read. He clutched Beyruun to his side, helping him to stay standing. "Here... It belongs to no one but you, and I will not keep it." Gerdane did not seem pleased with the prospect of the impostor having his weapon, but said nothing.

Then came the girl's voice. Her words drew him out of his stupor, and this time he did not care for her well being. "Liliana. Heal Blood, please... she was struck by Sephra's blades, and my bandage will not hold much longer." He moved Beyruun out in front of him, managing his weight as he stalked over the floor to Rivkah. "Do you see the woman before you? She is Liliana, Lady of Ernya and a Seer like you, and you know this because of your power... so look at me, girl. Look into me, and do not dare speak against my people until you do. Look!"

It did not matter to him that she was a fledgling. e did not know the scope of a Seer's power. Liliana could see everything in the depths of his mind; surely this one was no different. Krayth open his mind to Rivkah, and two lifetimes erupted into her psyche. Memories that were his own, and the memories of another that was dearly close to him. A flood of terror, trauma and suffering that spanned two lifetimes... it now belonged to her, whether she wanted them or not.

”If you thought Hell was frightening….”

*Kinetav too went into shock the second that Krayth mentioned the shortened, less dire name of their master, having met a few other Dark Avengers but no one who served the same Void Lord; this was shocking news along with the prospect of his life being kept, causing less adrenaline to pump through his veins. He barely even detected the overwhelming new aura in the area while Krayth addressed her, words of Blood and to the newcomer passing in and out of his ears as his mind realized that he might finally be in a place, or even an entire planet for all he knew, where his kind was both known and accepted; yet his heart hardened, telling him not to believe those around him as years of agony alone had warped him into believing that only the Void was there, truly caring about the Dark Avenger who had bound his soul to it for a chance at power, at revenge against those who deemed him as unworthy of life on their planet... The Anima's mind snapped back to reality as the Lord swooned, what seemed to be minutes in his mind thinking only a few seconds in reality as he saw Krayth cough up blood; at that moment Kinetav knew his duty...there was no bigger bond to those bound to the Void than those others bound too, their goals entwined to the same ends despite their various reasons for binding. He could feel the honor between himself and Krayth as the Edge was offered back to him, noticing the concerned look on the snake bitten man's face:*

"Do not worry, tribesman. I would never hurt Krayth, even if I were Legion now that I have met him. And thank you, Lord Krayth..."

*Kinetav slightly bowed as the projection faded, his right hand moving to grasp the Edge; the multiple red markings covering random red slivers of the blade glowed and his Exodus stopped mentally screaming on account of being back in its master's hands. The edges of the sword seemed to "burn off" into shadow until it resumed its natural dagger form, sliding perfectly back into its rightful sheath on Kinetav's belt. He felt whole again, his twin returned to him, savoring it for a moment before he heard Krayth's angry words, realizing that Sephra was being brought back by his previous captor despite Krayth's wounds. Keeping a tight hand on the Edge, he turned around towards his elder:*

"Krayth... Do not over-exert yourself, save your wrath and anger for that of Sephra.

”….enjoy eternity in my Edge.”

"There is only evil in action,

Lady Liliana of Ernya, Sage Elementalist

Seeing Krayth stumble and lean upon his blade let her know why she smelled so much blood over here. Looking about her, she judged the distances between people and took the best position to do this. The aura closest to her skin pearled into gossamer white threads as she dove into her power. Reaching out, one hand pointed to Krayth as the other pointed to Blood. The threads left her hands, streaming to the two injured people to start knitting muscle and mending flesh. The intense focus of this skill she normally kept hidden made her mind burn from the effort. But it was the only one that would fully heal them in one go around. As the last of their open wounds closed, Liliana wobbled on her feet. "I can't have more death if I'm able to help," she said in a shaky voice while slowly guiding herself to sit in the wet and sticky sands of the floor. Her milky eyes turned to Kinetav, taking in his story and purpose here. "The boy speaks truth, Krayth. He's not of Legion." She addressed him directly. "Kinetav, you come looking for a lord who has trice been pestered by Lord Srin. Each time has not ended well for the Isolated King. I know your purpose here but your were sent a fool's mission. To have managed to not incite the tribesmen who already purr for blood, it tells me you have the wisdom of one ready for your next level of training. Do you agree, Trainee?" Seeing the intent in Krayth's mind, she crawled over and touched the man, funneling what he was doing to the young seer Rivkah through herself to make the strain on the girl's mind much less.

”If you thought Hell was frightening….”

*Kinetav was just about to rush forward to aid both Blood and Krayth when he felt an overwhelming aura and saw bands of white stream past him; next thing the Anima knew, two people stood strong and refreshed while the aura faded and he heard something hit the sand behind him. He spun around quickly, noticing a strange woman with milky eyes laying on the ground; unfamiliar with their type, she seemed to be able to read into his very soul as memories flashed through his mind. His purpose, his time spent in the cage, even his very name was like an open reading book before she asked if he, a trainee, agreed.

(1/1)Even her words had weight to them as Kinetav's world started to seem different, the shadows beckoning and shifting in appearance; small visions of an alternate reality appearing to him. He began to look closer, desiring more and more to view and know its power, until finally his entire vision changed. He looked down at his hands, wisps of shadow emitting from his armor and Exodus as both of them realized that they were staring into the abyss to which Kinetav had bound himself; however as he saw a part of his gauntlet chip away, the anima panicked and lost focus, returning to the natural world.

(1/1) It struck him as strange, the fact that only his gauntlets had small chips out of them as opposed to his otherwise intact armor; it was only then that he realized that the shadows underneath continued to beckon to him him. Raspy whispers entered his mind, the Void and Edge both calling him to take a leap into the unknown. Putting one foot into the shadow before him, he saw his limb disappear before sliding entirely into shadow; to the rest it probably seemed as if he had fallen through the world itself as time seemed to slow down around him when really no time existed in the Void. He looked around, noticing yet more damage to his gauntlets before returning to the surface right next to the woman who had uttered his name. In the future...perhaps this skill could be useful for long travels as Kinetav wished he had learned this before arriving in the Devil's Eye Desert.

(1/1) He knew the woman could see everything by some strange coincidence, but yet he still wished to be hidden in shadows like he had always been. His home, his past life, the memories relived....he wanted it all hidden, and yet here there were rolling through his mind because of this blind woman in front of him. The shadows subconsciously obeyed his call, darkness swirling around his visor and hiding his face although the armor was more than distinguishable...The anguish and extraordinary pain of those memories caused his sorrow to turn to hate in order to keep his composure, focusing on those whom he blamed for his blight: the priests before he was sent here and the Lord of the Citadel for having sent him unwittingly as he spoke calmly before entering into in a half-rage:*

"Lady...Liliana, if I remember right...I cannot thank you enough, for all of this...your healing of Krayth, the other brethren, and my ranking up. I was cast into this unwittingly, caused to suffer...turning to the shadows, and those who have done my disservice will feel pain in turn for the countless wrongs I have suffered. I will get used to this new power, using it for the cause of justice against even the judges themselves..."

”….enjoy eternity in my Edge.”

Blood stiffened as she felt Liliana's energy completely heal her wounds "Thank you Lady Liliana." She told her in a great full soft voice. Her scales rippled into life as Kinetav took his weapon back, but they soon retracted seeing as he was not attacking them or anything. Her attention now turned to Rivkah as she let her Lord handle Kinetav, "Don't be sorry Hun, I'm just glad your all right." Blood told her with a smile, it was true that she was glad Rivkah was alright. Right about now Blood's emotions were mixed about many things, really she hoped to get more training soon, but she would need sleep eventually.

Areth had spent quite a long time simply watching as events unfolded before her, waiting for a chance to step in somewhere. All she wished for was to gain the strength she would need to survive, not for such a show as the one going on in front of her. The young seer was being quite the insolent little girl, and was not helping the current situation at all. Areth thought she felt a flicker coming from the lord's being, and the back of her mind formed a terrible thought. She did not want to see this go on any longer. Time was being wasted.
Walking over to where the drama unfolded, Areth raised her voice above any other that was speaking. "You, the little seer! Where do you get off yelling at this man simply because he was doing what he felt right? Do you know him? Do you hold the right to dictate the error in his decisions, even if there is some apparent error present? No, you hold none of that. Leave the man alone, let him mourn in what way he feels right, and leave the way he rules out of this matter. What relevance does it truly hold? None! At all!" Feeling out of breath, Areth's throat was hoarse. This was the most talking she had done in years, and it left her throat feeling as if it was on fire.
Turning away from the girl, and to the lord, Areth spoke a bit softer on account of her throat, but with the same intensity. "Perhaps you should go and rest. You look like someone chewed you up, spit you out, and stomped on you. Leave the girl behind, don't let her bother you. Also, calm down if you know what's good for you."

"What part of 'I don't care' do you not understand?"
PostPosted: Sat Feb 04, 2012 8:11 pm

They filed into the Arena again. This time, the audience was not simply the men of the tribes. Women filed in as well, young boys and girls in tow. They filled the seats carved into the rocks above and beside the Arena, their banter slowly echoing through the cavern.

Then came the wilders, sauntering back out to circle the Arena floor. Many wore a smirk of satisfaction, and faint smears of read over their arms and chest. After came Adellos, and thrown over his shoulder was the limp and broken frame of Sephra, wrapped in rags of burlap that concealed the charred stumps of her missing arms and the brands of violation she'd endured. A band of leather was pulled and tied at the back of her neck, covering what was left of her eyes. Adellos stopped in the center of the Arena, looking towards Krayth and the cluster of people surrounding him. Blood trickled down the balls of Sephra's shoeless feet, dripping off her toes and to the grated metal below. Whether she was conscious or not remained to be seen.

"Lord Valdiir."

He swung The Fallen down from his shoulders, dropping her onto her knees with unceremonious force. It was more than clear he didn't care about her pain. In the eyes of the crowd, the same expression was omnipresent.

Her body shook from the pain but she refused to use her voice. She could hear all the people around her and even sense someone's aura nearby. She turned her face upward as best as she could. But the bruising on her neck and in her muscles screamed at her. She swished at her mouth for the countless time, trying to get the filthy taste from it. But there was no respite for her. She could feel the wounds on her body but wasn't too sure at this point how badly she bled. Especially anywhere below the waist.

“I have foreseen your destruction.”

Rivkah, a sassy retort playing in her mind, stopped dead, her eyes fixed on Krayth as his memories flooded into her mind. His willingness to share them clearly heightening her ability to see. If it were not for Liliana's powerful siphon, Rivkah would most likely have been torn apart. The images of his torment, his pain, and the pain of his people played as if a movie condensed into mere seconds. Her mind barely able to handle the inflow of information she was receiving, she was not nearly prepared for this kind of memory transfer.

When it was done, Rivkah stumbled, her eyes fluttering closed as her mind hit sleep mode to adjust. A moment more saw Rivkah hit the ground once more, her hair fanning out on the bloody ground as her head impacted with a gentle thud. Her mind drifting into a world of unconscious terror, as her mind grew accustomed to the new memories she now shared with Krayth. As she slept she lived every memory over again as if she were Krayth, she experienced joy as he had, as well as his sorrow and anger. The love he felt for his departed wife struck her most of all. Living through all their moments together, ruling together and triumphing together. Finally, the first round of the circuit came to a close with the absolute torment the last day and a half had been on the shadow lord. She understood to a degree what he had done, however out of proportion she felt he had blown it. Her feelings on the matter lasted only seconds as his life began playing again and again in her mind, always looping to the precious year he had had with his beloved.

"The dead shall rise. Then you will fall,"

Krayth's breath hitched in his lungs as his life poured out of him. Every memory of his being taken, passed before his eyes in an instant, and set upon Rivkah. The words and actions directed at him beforehand were forgotten. He was forced to relive his life, and the life of Karshel Kabala, Blood Baron of the Devil's Eye. His mind burned at the memories and gory rule beside his fellow witch doctors. When the young Seer collapsed from the overwhelming strain and trauma of these two lives, Krayth gasped in a breath through his clenched teeth, and in that moment realized that he could breath easy. The pain of his body was gone, but not his heart... he had relived every second of bliss with his beloved only to return to a life without her.

His attention was drawn to another woman close by, one who he dimly recalled speaking to Rivkah, then directly to him before the transference mediated by Liliana had begun. It was unmistakable; there could be no doubt. She was Voidsworn like him; like Kinetav; like Blood...

"The time to rest has passed. I am whole again, and this war will not wait for me. Give me your name, Dark Avenger... and in exchange I will give you the knowledge you seek." He looked out to Kinetav and Blood - the younger Anima having fallen to an internal rage. The shadows drew into his mask, and The Void Lord knew what it was he did. Then he turned back to his Nox'Sala, and set his hand upon her shoulder. The shadow bandage at her side disassembled into wisps of black as he addressed her.

"You have followed me through war and plague. You prove yourself with every step, and our Masters see your promise. Shut you eyes, Nox'Sala, and face them" Should she follow Krayth's words, a wave of cold would ripple over her. The shadows of her eyelids, pitch black, would seem infinite... and somewhere in that incomprehensible space something watched her, and approved.

She would open her eyes to a world that was the same, but to a different perception of herself. As she took in her new sense of power, Krayth addressed them all. "Soon we shall continue your training. I will train you all. Heed my words, Voidsworn. A gathering of this size has not occurred for centuries. This is a sign of the battle to come... Hear me well. I have promised my Master the blood of Grix, and war against those who would prevent his destruction. Fight beside me, and It will embrace you as Its own creation. We will send the villains of Rykros to the fate they are most deserving of..."

"Lord Valdiir."

He looked out to Adellos and Sephra. Her sight sickened him. It was time to put the b***h down. The Desert Lord looked back to Rivkah's prone figure, and then to Liliana. Some tinge of regret hung on his face for a heartbeat, then vanished. Her soul still harbored light, and she lived though in the depths of sleep. One that would be filled with his nightmares. "If she has been harmed, it was not my intention... but no one speaks against the Tribes without knowing their story. Help her if you can. It is time to finish this."

He turned away from the others, and as he stalked towards Sephra his sibling twisted in his arm, silently snaking outwards into the shape of the same grisly weapon that had amputated the Fallen's arms. He did not wait for ceremony. The tribes did not want it. They wanted an end. They wanted a corpse. Krayth wasted no words on Sephra, and as he hoisted the executioner's cleaver high above his head and positioned himself alongside the Plague General, his words were, "Tribes, an eternity of unbeing awaits this child of Grix," and with the shrill whistle of the cut air Beyruun's blade happily removed her head.

Liliana may not have been strong enough to stop Krayth, nor fast enough to move Sephra from his path. But she could gain that last touch to pull what she needed from the woman's mind. Sephra fought, of course, but willingly gave once Liliana let her know that in an instant her life was done. And what she saw... Liliana retched on the floor, too much of everything from the day hitting her. Her body trembled from abuse as her mind wept from the same. Finally gaining composure of herself, her eyes could see the energy leave Sephra and be sucked into the blade of the Void Lord. Her mind processed through who had spoken to her and who she needed to address. 'Your rage is unneeded right now, Kinetav. Focus it on protecting the nation you serve, since there's still a threat out there. Don't let revenge guide your actions," she said, looking to Krayth as she spoke the last, "because they will only bring you more pain."

Krayth remained on his feet for the moment that Beyruun's blade cracked the ground beneath Sephra. Her head rolled down along the floor, and then he stood. His eyes shut as Beyruun drew all of Sephra into him. All of her memories, all of her...

The Desert Lord's head cocked violently to the side, as if struck in the temple by a rock. He turned, looking back at Liliana as a moment of confusion became something worse, and shattered his stature to the floor. Beyruun clattered away from his hands as he caught himself on his hands. He wretched, and bile spilled from his mouth. Both hands went to his mouth, and he vomited again. As he fell to his knees, Krayth's eyes could not have been wider as they stared through the floor from between his trembling fingers. There he remained in silence.

Liliana reached out and held Krayth as he retched on the floor, hand rubbing his back to help sooth the physical torment. "There is only evil in action, Krayth. Remember that lesson?" she said quietly. Her power created a kind of cradle for the man, an attempt to help put a balm on his pain at the moment. The contrast between the two of them on the blood-soaked floor would give anyone pause. Despite her dark skin, anyone could see Liliana was a being of light. And here she was comforting the darkness. "You are not an evil man, Krayth..."
