The angry woman stomped up to him and brought her foot down on his stomach. "You're lucky I don't aim lower you old perv!"

Anbu apeared. "Lady Tsunade..."

"What is it thi...!" She stopped when she felt the tension. Her own face became serious. "What is it?"

"Uchiha Itachi and Hoshigaki Kisame entered the village and knocked out one of the nurses at the hospital. They were looking for your Haruno Sakura."

Tsunade's eyes widened before they narrowed. "...I see."

(g2g for an hr or so)

"Wait! They're already gone. Yamato was the last to fight them before they retreated."

"I guess...but let me make this clear for you..." Tsunade advanced on the boy and leaned forward a bit, giving him a serious, dark look. "If she gets hurt in any way, I'll have your head."

Sai's fake smile never faltered. "Ah. Don't worry, Itachi won't touch her as long as I'm near."

"Good. Don't let her know you're watching. Dismissed." Sai vanished.

Tsunade sighed. "I don't trust him." Anbu nodded before dissapearing.
Tsunade sighed. "Keep an eye on her."

"I'll do that. She is my teammate after all," a voice called from the door. It was Sai, with his fake smile.

The brothers entered shortly after Tsunade and stood in front of her desk, Al nibbling on his lower lip and Ed simply keeping his eyes on the floor. Both seemed to still be off in their own thoughts.

How could this have happened? They had been so careful! They hadn't made calculations for a third body passing through the Gate. Could that be why the thing was going haywire? Damn. All they'd wanted to do was get home and now they'd gone and screwed up another country. Because that's what would happen, they knew it. They knew of only one creature that would claim to share their blood, even as a sick joke, and he would lay waste to everything in his path if given a proper chance.

Alphonse winced and glanced up at the woman as Edward sighed in a resigned sort of way and brought his gaze up as well. "Geeze, I dunno where to begin..." That statement earned an annoyed little noise from Al.

"How about the beginning, brother." The younger boy rolled his eyes lightly at his sibling before returning his full attention to Tsunade. "The Gate, as Ed explained before, is a source of great power, limitless knowledge, a portal between worlds, a means to create artificial life, and so much more..." Al scratched the back of his head nervously, "It's oddly peaceful there..." the boy muttered. Creepy, lonely, and frightening at times, but peaceful all the same.

"All we know is what we've experienced for ourselves or have read in books. We've stood before the gate...several times now...and each time we've been offered something at the expense of something dear to us. The first time was when we broke one of the founding laws of alchemy. The Gate took its payment and left the marks as a lasting reminder of our mistake." He shifted his weight, uncomfortable at how similar her pose was to a certain other high-ranking official he knew.

"This last time...we thought we got everything right. We calculated what it would take to send two whole bodies through the gate and have them arrive at their destination in the same condition they left the other world in. We...we didn't anticipate a...stowaway." Ed frowned then, how the hell had Envy even known what they were doing?

"The one that says he's our brother...He's-" Al began

"He's not our brother!" Ed interrupted with a shout and a glare at Alphonse, "He may share our blood but he's not family! He's a monster! Dangerous, psychotic, and not even human!"

Alphonse waited for the shorter male to calm a bit before continuing, "He's a homunculous. An artificial human, sustained only by the philosopher's stone and created when someone attempted to bring another human back to life. He can be anyone." He fixed his gaze solidly on Tsunade's eyes. "If he's seen you, he can become you. I doubt any of your..." He struggled to remember the word for a second or two, "...Jutsu can see through it, either."

((Oh geeze, long sweatdrop ))

Sakura didn't even knock as she walked right in. "The door turned to dust and blew away," she said urgently.

((Eh-heh...chalk it up to a good 10 years of experience. I've been a roleplay freak since junior high))

The boys winced. Love for their mother had nearly been their downfall.

Ed shook his head, "He may agree to get rid of this Orochimaru guy, but only because he'd be competition. This guy started the war that destroyed a nation. If he gains power your country will be in more danger than you could imagine." Aside from simply enjoying general chaos, war, and genocide, Envy lived up to his name.

Kill him? Well, there was a way. "The only way we know of is to get them close to the remains of the human the alchemist that created them was trying to bring back. It weakens them enough that a skilled human could take them out." Of course, the problem with that plan was the fact that Envy's remains were back in Amestris.

The two looked over when Sakura came in, both rather surprised by the news "It just left? It didn't take anyone?" Ed asked as Alphonse's face turned to a worried one.

"But...if it didn't take anyone, won't it come back?"
