"Just the luck I guess...." Tehra said with a slight chuckle. This girl seemed okay, of course, Tehra hadn't been all that worried. School drama didn't bug her all that much, she had more important things to do. Her night time escapades seemed to completely outweigh the drama of school. "Painting is expensive and difficult. No erasers.... I like to draw people." Tehra was peeking in all the classrooms trying to find the right one. Music room... ceramics room.. they were getting close.

Alma walked beside Tehra and looked into the class rooms, even though she had no idea of what to look for. Her mind was mostly blank. She was having a normal conversation. The last one she had must have been at least a month ago and it had ended with her running into a closet to calm down. "Well, yeah, my sister's more of the artist. I'm just the smart kid that you can trust to get A's without working too hard, "Alma shrugged. It was true she hadn't worked too hard to get her straight A report card, but then again, she was beginning to have more free time than she cared to have, especially since she had been careful to avoid too much human contact since that.... event. Maybe something would change but Alma doubted it would happen as fast as she would want.

"Aw... thats no fun. But good grades will give you a future...." Tehra said with a small laugh. "AH! Here we are..." She smiled as she stopped at a door and looked up at the label. It was definately the art room. There were a few students in there, but not many yet. Tehra was glad to have found the room though, it was getting uncomfortably close to her being late, which in this case meant right before the bell.

"Yeah, I guess... But it might help if I actually knew what I wanted to do in life..." Alma replied with a heavy sigh. She followed Tehra into the Art room and stared around. It was similar to the one at her old school, save the students being here on time. After looking around, Alma turned back to Tehra. Something seemed to be bothering the girl behind the teal eyes, but only for a second. She shrugged. It was most likely just because the bell was going to ring in about 10 minutes, which was less than Alma would have liked. She would never finish the chapter in her manga at this rate. "Do you think we need to tell the teacher were new?" Alma asked, almost out of the blue.

Tehra smirked slightly. "I don't think we tell him... it's not like either of us exactly blends in..." Tehra motioned to Almas streaked hair and dark clothes and then to her own fluffy bright pink curls. "I'm pretty sure he'll know..." She said as she took a seat at an empty table. She didn't want to steal anyones seat, heaven forbid.

Alma laughed and slid into the seat beside Tehra, earning a few stares from the other students. Smiling, she took off her backpack and placed it next to the chair. As she unzipped the zipper, the rebel began asking her new found friend. "So, I have a question, "Alma began, "Do you dye your hair? Or is it natural?" It would be very neat if it was natural or dyed. Dying all of one's hair was a very hard task. Alma had tried. "I'm just wonde-" Alma stared at her bag. Her books and pencils were completely immersed in Shadows and starting to float into view of the other students. She quickly grabbed what she needed and zipped the bag shut. Breathing heavily, the girl tried to gain control of her powers before anything else happened. The sensation of her powers faded a moment later. All she could do is hope no one noticed.

Tehra smirked at Alma's question. "Most people think I dye it... but it naturally came out this way... my dad was a redhead and my mom had platinum blonde here, so I suppose they mixed in my DNA or something and I got this. It's a good thing I'm a girl." she grinned "Otherwise I would be completely humiliated... and then, I'd probably dye it. Do you keep your streaks the same color or do you change it?" Tehra asked as she pulled out her sketchpad and pencil.

Alma laughed weakly; Tehra obviously hadn't noticed her sudden change in mood. As long as no one had noticed, it didn't matter if her powers had slipped that once. But it had been a warning, she needed to keep her powers in check during the day. "Must be the Law of Incomplete Dominance, "Alma stated, rather bluntly, "But I've never heard of it happening with hair color like that. You're an interesting case, Tehra." Alma smiled, she had to remain calmer. "Well, I've dyed it a few times with color that lasts about four to six weeks. Before red, it was an electric blue. Man, I got strange looks with that color." She didn't want to lose a friend she just made by ending the conversation. Luckily, the bell rang almost right after Alma made that realization. Saved by the bell, literally... Alma thought with a sigh of relief.

Tehra nodded. "That's cool. Who cares if you got strange looks?" she asked rhetorically, not really expecting an answer due to the bell having rung. Tehra knew it was time to pay attention to their teacher.

((ooc: You do. Or anyone does. They aren't owned by any one player)) "Excuse me, is this seat open?" Danielle pointed to an unoccupied chair not far from the two girls. Without waiting for a response, she hopped onto the seat and began riffling through her bag. She quickly produced a pad and some pencils and settled herself into the seat. As she set her bag back down, however, a rather absurdly sized PDA bounced out and slid across the floor. "Uhg." Danielle muttered as she slid out of the chair to go grab it. As she did, a man entered the room. He was only slightly taller than his students, but his form was topped off with one of nature's more ridiculous hairstyles: blond dread locks. "Alright you cool cats," The man said, making his way to the desk in front of the class, "I know we have a few new members of the chill today. I'm Mr. Dayze, but you all can call me Sonny."

Tehra smiled at Danielle as she sat down. "Hey.... I'm Tehra. Are you new here to? We are...." she motioned to herself and Alma. Then the teacher walked in. Tehra had to say she was surprised. She wasn't expecting a teacher who wore dreads, had his students use his first name, and reminded her of a very stoned person. Well, perhaps it would be a truly fun class.

Alma stared at the odd teacher. She had noticed the other girl, the one with normal hair, only briefly before Mr. Dayze, no, Sonny, walked in. He's blond dreads were... interesting and the way he spoke reminded her of when her mom was talking about people that had done drugs in the 70s. At least the class wouldn't be boring... The girl's mind was going blank. Alma couldn't let her emotions get out of control again. This was going to be a long day. All she could hope was that nothing would happen that would make her do anything rash. Her world was a void of silence. And she needed to keep it that way. Needless to say, Alma was shying away from human contact and barely heard the conversation going on right beside her.

Tehra noticed that Alma was getting quieter and quieter. She had noticed the girl exiting out on the conversation earlier. Alma had seemed pretty social earlier, but once they were in the room she sort of checked out. That slightly piqued Tehra's curiousity, what would make a person suddenly stop talking? She didn't think she had said anything offensive, so what caused her silence? "I wonder what Sonny will have us do.... I hope we have some thought provoking assignments...." Tehra mused aloud, not really for anyone in paricular.
Tehra looked back at the teacher once more, her teal eyes setting upon his face. He was most definately high. How did he get away with coming to teach stoned? That never would have flown in her old city, but then again this was Delmor- even the news dispatchers were a bit on the kooky side. Tehra wondered for a moment if this was truly the right place for her to have moved. Being normal may just be difficult here.

"I'm Danielle." Danielle spoke quietly as she finally rescued her PDA from the floor. She wasn't much of an artist herself but she enjoyed classes where she didn't seem like a showoff. "So everyone make sure you introduce yourselves to Danielle, Tehra, and Alma, mmkay?" Sonny was busy unlocking some shelves in the front of the class. "Today we're using oil paints, so everyone grab an apron, some paints, and create, like, whatever you're feeling today." "I'm sorry, I didn't catch your names," Danielle said as the rest of the class rushed to get the cleaner aprons.
