Khamsyn visually flushed once more, at her response to his 'Hi', and stumbled one of the steps. He did his best to recover and act like it didn't bother him, but it obviously did. He quickly shifted his gaze back down to his feet for several more beats of the music before he dared spare a glance back at Belwen. It was difficult to force himself to look her in the eye, but not because of anything she had said or done. Only because he was scared he see a look or boredom or annoyance upon her beautiful face. He let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding when he say neither. Instead she was smiling and seemed to be enjoying herself. He relaxed ever so slightly. Then she commented about moving his hips more and he froze. The blush grew deeper and deeper as he watched her demonstate. He felt a lump in his throat, among other places, and found himself grinning dumbly. At least he hadn't said anything dumb yet though.
"Are you offering to tutor me on that?"
Damnit, there it was.

When he seemed to stiffen up at the hip wiggling she kept dancing attempting to keep him moving along, she smiled a bit to herself when she realized it seemed to have worked. She grinned faintly at his remark and quirked a brow, "well I think I have the dancing well in order." Belwen was rather enjoying herself and truthfully she found well closeness always comforting, a small part of her wondered if Khamsyn was ready for what he might have just stepped into.
A bit of mischief coming to her grin she leans and kisses his cheek before whispering playfully, "and if you want more then just dancing with the hip wiggling. It'll have to be a time when there isn't a party going on."

Even though Khamsyn's face grew blazing hot with the blush he was now experiencing, he couldn't stop smiling. Something in his brain seemed to click over. He closed his eyes for a second, and when he opened them again, the look in them had a trace of the same mischief that was in Belwen's. Emotional shifts were not uncommon in Phlegmatics and as different as Khamsyn could seem, he really was Phlegmatic. The trouble was, so was Belwen. He started dancing again, pulling in a little closer to his partner and taking a bit of initiative in terms of leading them in the dance. He was still far from confident nor was he still very skilled, but it didn't seem to matter as much now. He was going by instinct. He was on autopilot.
"You've got a deal." he whispered back, his mouth curling deeper into a pleasant smile. "And perhaps I could find something to teach you in return." His blush had already started to fade slightly, but it was still clear that it was in no danger of disappearing all together. His courage might have flared when he most needed it, but personal experience told him he better make the best of it while he could. It would fade faster than the blush if not.

Ooooo! Cypress squeaked as Cyphr switched her over to one arm, chuckling slightly. She wrapped both arms around his neck to balance herself out, and snuck a few rolls of her own before noticing that Cyphr had picked up a salmon roll for her. She giggled as the roll talked to her, even introducing itself and saying hello. Well hello! she laughed, winking at Cyphr. Unfortunately, Mr. Salmon, I'm going to have to eat you! she said with a grin, picking up a tuna roll and glancing at Cyphr. Did he like tuna? S-she didn't say . . . eat . . . did she? the tuna roll panicked, now beside the salmon roll. Who ever said "don't play with your food"? No one that had any fun, that's for sure!

Belwen chuckled at his response with a smile, "that would be nice, luckily I'm a quick learner." She winked slightly and as he moved in rested against him as they danced. The second song would be over with soon, and she was getting a bit hungry she decided she might as well drag Khamsyn along with her for some food and maybe some of the games she had set out.
"After this dance, how about a bit of food?" She looked up again studying him a moment, "ever had sushi before?" Belwen did like sushi as well as making it which had given her the idea for the party. But she had a feeling someone was going to find the food not to their liking, which was also why she tried to temper what was offered with a healthy offering of sweets.

Thankfully Khamsyn still had some grains of his fleeting courage left. He still held her close as they danced and smiled wryly at her comment about being a fast learner. He couldn't quite tell if that would be a good thing or a bad thing in regards to their subject, but it didn't mich matter. It was mainly just hollow chat right now anyways. He wasn't sure how much, if any, either was willing to follow through on. "Hopefully I'll be a decent teacher then. If not, being a fast learner won't help much. I may have to repeat the intended lesson." he retorted with a wink of his own.
"Sushi? I haven't had the chance to eat it that often, but the few times I did it was good. I suppose the person perparing it has a great deal of influence on the taste, so I count myself reasonably lucky thus far. And maybe even luckier if you say you prepared all the food here yourself." he babbled a bit, but at this point it didn't matter. He'd been nervous, ungraceful, less than suave and at times a bit dull, and still Belwen hadn't excused herself from his company yet, so he figured a little babbling wouldn't drive her away either.
"It would be my pleasure to escort you to the sushi table m'lady." he quiped with a bow after the second song, and their dance, finished up. Extending his arm for her to hook on to in the most gentlemanly way he could muster he smiled. Maybe his nervousness had truly been banished. At least for the moment.

Any fragment of hesitancy Grave might have begun this series of probes and offers with had now completely evaporating, leaving the slender Melancholic radiating charm, warmth and understanding. "Then let us enjoy this party, shall we? Without fear, without restraint, as we will have each other's company, even when it ends. I'll be sure to escort you when you've had your fill of the revelrie, and I'll be at your side as long as you have need of me." Grave smiled modestly, his expression far more descriptive than his words. He spun Kallisto out in time to a flourished crescendo of music, and then paused. "Would you care to try your hand at some of these games Belwen's been so considerate to offer? We can be a tad more social, and yet enjoy each other I feel." Grave raised Kallisto's hand in his, to see if she would allow herself to be lead from the dance floor. It was a very good thing that Grave kept such tight control over himself, or he might more resemble an excited puppy than an Empyrean. Instead, he held his steps graceful, and his posture erect, and carefully bided his Svadisthana at an ember's glow. Grave was, if nothing else patient, and he was looking forward to savouring the remainder of the night.

Belwen chuckled slightly at his reply and gave him a slight hug, he was loosening up and it was making the evening that much more entertaining; not only for herself but also for him she hoped. "Repeat lessons, could be worth it if your up for it." She gave a catty grin and then glanced over to the food table.
At his meantion of the food she nodded slightly, "I did in fact make all the food, used normal food stuffs as well so it didn't cost me anything food wise. And well, I think they turned out rather well, but I'm bias so you will have to taste test." She wrapped her arm around his a look of bemusement at the slight bit of babble as she allowed him to walk her over to the food table.
"The Salmon is one of my favorites, but the cucumber rolls and chirashi sushi might be better for those that don't care for the fish." She gestured to the small bowls of scattered sushi as she meantioned the latter attempting to show him around the food table a little. Glancing over she chuckled slightly hearing Cyphr and Cypress banter. Looking up to Khamsyn she smiled, "so what should we try?" She knew what all of it was but was curious as to his choice. Reaching over she grabbed two glasses of punch and settled one near him taking one for herself as she did.

"Oh, I think it is safe to say I would be up for it." he responded with a shy smile. Once she took his arm he lead her casually to the food table, pausing to survey it all. He paid attention to the ones she explained and pointed out, not really sure what he was in the mood for. After a few seconds, he shrugged and took one of the salmon rolls. "Well, I think I'll start with the salmon. It comes highly recommended by the sushi chef after all." he answered with a wink and chuckle. He tried it suddenly unsure what he was going to do if he didn't like it. He couldn't spit it out, that would be rude. But he didn't know if he could keep his face from betraying his opinion if he swallowed it. Thankfully, once it hit his palate, he knew he didn't have to fake liking it. "That is good." Khamsyn reached for a cucumber roll next, not noticing the punch that had been set in front of him. "Mmm... this one looks good too." he grabbed the cucumber roll and in the process of bringing it to himself, nudged the punch cup. He saw it wobble and dropped, or more accurately tossed, the piece of sushi, grabbing for the cup to steady it. He prevented it from spilling but lost track of the errant cucumber roll. Looking up at Belwen with a slight embarrassed blush he smiled weakly. "Did you happen to see where that went?" he asked barely louder than a whisper.

Belwen's eyes got wide watching Khamsyn with the glass and the sushi, she started to grab for the glass but then saw him doing the same and stopped fearful that if she continued she might actually upset the glass from his hand. Her eyes traveled following the flying sushi roll for a moment before looking to Khamsyn again.
She was very pleased he liked the sushi even if the addition of multiple things turned out more exciting then she had intentionally planned upon. At his question she smiled and leaned forward kissing him on the tip of his nose her eyes looking somewhat amused. Plucking a napkin from the table next to them she opened it up and murmured back to him as if it were some secret, "I believe it went under the table."Nadyrr's hybrid Istas had sometime ago slide under the table in an attempt to get closer to her master. She had been left to her own devices and if one where to go after the roll they would find the little hybrid attempting to go for it at the same time.

Slipping away from the table with glass in hand, Yalitza wonders around the area just looking at the decor. She would have to talk to Belwen later, and let her know how much she adored what she done fro this party. She found she was just enjoying letting herself be free, and not think about work or even papers.
Pausing, she glances around before she takes another sip of her punch. Her head was just alittle tipsy, but not to the point where she couldn't think. She kept quiet once again, but every so often she would spare a glance towards Nadyrr. A blush rose to her cheeks rather quickly, which in turn would cause her to look away from him.

Nadyrr waited for some of the others around him to answer, he enjoyed have Yalitza with him but he had a feeling he would be less likely to continually blush or drop things while distracted without her close. He wondered if this would pass as it had at the Christmas party with Ubel so long ago, but he wasn't sure it seemed...different. Shrugging slightly he ate a bit of the salmon sushi he had picked up earlier and finished off his punch.
With a smile he glanced over hearing Cypress respond to Cyphr, "careful there, you two better eat those up quickly. Never know what will happen when your food starts talking back." He smiled slightly speaking to the two as he did.
Yalitza had stepped off and away he realized, he wondered if he had made her uncomfortable. A small flutter of panic started that he attempted to squelch down and put his attention to the others for a moment, he wouldn't panic...

Before Abacus' assistance could be fully offered, Cyphr stepped in to heroically save the damsel in distress. The journeyman looked at his friend in shocked, then grinned. "Heya Cyphr," he replied, "Enjoying the party?"
He laughed, shaking his head at the idea of either dress or toga. "I'm afraid I don't quite have the figure as either of you lovelies are." Thankfully Thimble had spoken, and he had met her before -- without hearing her voice, who could have known if she was really a he? In his opinion, a dress would appear quite flat on a male instead of fine and attractive on the more curvy of his species. That's what dresses do, right? Look good on those with the curves for it?
He was awoken from his reprieve by Thimble's mutter. "Hm? Ah." A look around the room fixed it, and he could only shrug in response. "Usually it doesn't, though..." He looked towards the drink table again, adding, "I think I know why." Abacus shook his head, then ran his fingers through his hair. I better be careful of who I take a picture of... I don't want to accidentally embarrass anyone later on, or cause jealousy between lovers by showing an old photo later on. When Thimble attempted to grab his fingers, Abacus snapped his attention back to her. "Hm? You all right, Thimble? Ah! Hello Yalitza. And Nadyrr, is it? My name is Abacus. I haven't tried the food yet, though -- I've just walked in." He grinned, reaching up to tap his cat-smile pin on his camera strap. "I've picked one of these up, though!"
He watched the group dissipate slightly, he searched for something to say. "The decorations are amazing! It's hard to tell if this was a classroom or not."

Khamsyn took a deep breath after it sunk in that he had not spilled the punch, only lost his sushi roll. It could have been worse. If the punch spilled then the table might end up stained. Or worse yet, with his frequent brushes with bad luck, the punch could have spilled onto Belwen. That could possibly have ruined any kind of relationship or friendship they were building now. But none of that happened, so he put it out of his head just in time to be kissed upon the nose. He wrinkled his nose playfully and smiled, even chuckling at bit at the series of events. Shaking his head, he placed one hand upon the small of Belwen's back, gently, and took the napkin with his other hand, bending down to fetch the wayward sushi roll.
"Don't go away... I'll be right back" he joked as he partially disappeared under the table and came nose to nose with more than a wayward sushi roll. A wayward hybrid it would seem as well. Both of them looked each other in the eyes, then glanced at the sushi roll. Istas started to move towards it just a split second before Khamsyn, but Khamsyn's arms were longer. The race was on. The Phlegmatic got to it first and smiled triumphantly as he dragged it towards the napkin in his other hand. "Sorry there little fella, looks like I got it first."

Giving a small wave to Abacus, Yalitza glances away before deciding maybe she needed to sit just for a few minutes. Moving towards an empty chair, she takes a seat before smoothing out her dress. Setting her drink on the table, she plays with the coin bracelet around her wrist for a moment as she started to think.
It wasn't like she never kissed anyone before, she kissed Aureus. But even now, when she thought about it. Even that was different, it was just to see if she could get his to blush. But the kiss just now, caused her to feel warm, and made her body feel as id she was floating.
Shaking her head, she looks back up at Nadyrr, thinking she would join him again. Only after she was sure she wouldn't fall flat on the ground.
