Why do I love Japan: It all started with my interest in anime. I wanted to be able to understand the language used, so I got a few books from the library. I haven't gotten very far with language(it's hard to learn a language outside of school), but I did manage to fall in love with the culture.
Ever been to Japan: Unfortunately, no. I've never even been outside of the country.
Interests: Definitely anime and manga, as well as reading, writing, and horseback riding.

Why do you love Japan: Well, I've been fascinated in Japan since I was little, thanks to an obsession that was sparked when I was introduced to anime and, well, Japanese candy. Mmm, six year old me liked candy. Since then, my interest has grown to incorporate more than just pop-culture, and has moved into history, literature, and, of course, the language. Japan has a rich, interesting history that, despite it's constant "borrowing" of things and ideas from China, was unique.
Ever been to Japan, if so where: During May of last year, I participated in my school's study tour to Japan. The first week was spent homestaying with a family in Tokyo. I was located in Yoyogi, about five minutes walking distance from Meiji Jingu. For about two days after the homestay section of the study tour, we went by train to Takayama. That evening, we slept in a traditional Japanese inne, which was really, really cool. After touring around Takayama(we went to Hida Takayama for most of the day, to visit the market early in the morning, walk around, visit an old government building which is now a museum, and to check out an old village which was preserved), we took a train to Kyoto, where we stayed for the rest of our trip, touring around different shrines and temples.
Interests: Well, Japanese culture, obviously. This incorporates history, literature, as well as pop-culture stuff like anime, manga and music. Other than that, I enjoy reading, especially books of the fantasy genre, I'm an aspiring artist, I love playing RPGs, I role-play, I act, and I participate in Youth and Government.

Personality: Eh, I don't really know what to say. I'm rather odd. I can go from being loud, boisterous and even vulgar to meek and quiet. I'm intelligent, I've been told, like participating in classroom debates, and am not afraid to voice my opinion to those younger than myself or my peers. However, when faced with someone older and more capable, I find myself unable to say much in fear that I'll appear to be just another teenage idiot. If I know someone for a little while, I can usually overcome this -- unless I never felt threatened by them in the first place. I try to be a good person when I can, but I find myself thinking things contrary to how I'd like to act. I repress these usually, though.
Any other Additional Info: I've been taking Japanese for three years, took Japanese History for a year, as well as Japanese Literature for a year, and am currently taking Chinese History. In college, I want to major in East Asian Studies (particularly Japan, of course) and minor in Ancient History.

Why do you love Japan: It is one of the interesting cultures of the world, and I enjoy studying it's history, both bad and good. Anime and Manga aren't really a reason why I like Japan, more or less it's history and ohh... I love Japanese Dramas. heart UTB Is the only reason why I stay up on Sundays.
Then, there are the fashions and popculture. I just wont get into that for now.
Ever been to Japan, if so where: No, but I may decide to go there for Student Exchange if the chance ever pops up. If it doesn't, I may just visit there over a summer.
Interests: Drawing, Reading, Writing, Computers, Video Games, Bleach, Naruto, Full Moon Wo Sagashite, Napping, Researching, History, Literture, Foreign Cultures, World Relegions, and Langauges.
