"Rhythms Of A City: based on sounds from New York City."
We went to NY and PA last marching season during thanksgiving so they wanted to do a show for it. It's IV (4) movements long. Here's the music if you want to listen to it.

smile Check it out. The fourth movement is my favorite. The third is a little slow.

Our BD released the theme of our show during our uberly long awards concert on Thursday. Even though Mr. Key Poulan hasn't started writing it (as of Friday afternoon, that is), we know it will have an Egyptian theme, as it is based off of Nefertiti.

So our band directors bought the rights to a Higginbotham show, and we now call it "The Elements of Life", even though it was originally called "Anime" LinkageIt's an amazing show, and we were told the drill was going to be insane. I'm excited :]

We're doing an Earth, Wind, & Fire show. I hope there's a piccolo solo, but I kinda doubt it.

They told us what the title was last night...but I missed it. D: People started laughing, so I'll assume that the title is something funny.

"Africa: Transgression, Judgement, The Tribulation"
There will be about three props on the field. The pit will be on the feild with us as on of the props. The 'pit prop' will be a mini volcano with the base drums at the top, where our bass drummer will play as the 'queen of the volcano'. I heard the words 'smoke effects' escape the 'codirector's' lips. Our gaurd will be in costume rather than uniform. The theme of the show starts with 'dawn' where there is a steady "Ah" being sung in the band and a saprano saxophone solo. Then we all play a random note and pause at the peak and thus our first movement starts. The theme of the first movement is that the gods are angry at the sinners. The second movement's theme is where the sinners are on trial and the gods show no mercy. The third movement is where the sinners sacfrice someone to the gods. A female member in the band will be part of a visual where we perform the 'sacrifice'.
Being an officer this year will mae me more involved and I'm excited about that. This year sounds awesome due to our new equipment.
Last year, my band performed "Urban Pulse" and the year before, we played "Insomnia". Both shows were alright, but the general effects were dull. We didn't even have completed props on the field until our last competition. This year, our first competition is October 4th.(2 days after my birthday. I have practice that day x-x) ((Our band just got new uniforms last year. We just got one of those huge, fancy, blue drum major podiums with a matching 'pit train'.))
Anyway, good luck with everyone. I hope you like your shows as much I like mine.
