My band director is looking at the opera Carmina Burana for ours, which means my timpani part isn't going to suck this year. I have this really fun part.

We might be doing Queen next year. but we don't know, my BD hasn't decided yet, sweatdrop and if he has he won't tell us until after festival
EDIT:(more or less, it's actually closer to news or update but whatever.) So i wasn't sure if I should make a new post or not so i decided that it would be safer to add on to this post.
ANYWAYS--
As of yesterday, Monday January 11 (eleventh) 2008 at 7:20somethingorother, The Pride of Chelsea (aka the Chelsea high school Marching band) WILL be doing Queen as our show theme in the 2008 Marching season! this was verified by the band director himself! (actually the verification was done at 7;20somethingorother but whatever) *huggles band director*
(and yes i seriously almost did that if it weren't for the fact that he was in pre-concert mode xd )
UPDATE:
hmm. this could be dangerous. i have another update...
So i totally forgot about this until now.
Last month (I think it was last month. maybe it was the month before last) Anyways. we were sitting in band a month or two ago and our band director tells us that he got a package from George Schrader, our lovely music arranger, two of the three or four Queen Pieces we will be playing next year. We will be preforming Bicycle Race, and Bohemian Rhapsody.
Gawd do we love our specifically written for us, nobody but us will play our arrangement, music.

We did dark and stormy night 8th grade year.
Lhotka [band director] says we're going to have a cool program, but doesn't know what to call it.
I can't wait for the battle of the bands though! [Lhotkapalooza!]

Our band is doing Jekyll & Hyde, its got cool but freaky music. At least its easier than last year, but no where near as awesome either!

Our BD won't tell us until we start training the upcoming freshmen in May. It sounds really bad, but there are people saying that it might be a Halo theme. I think that would suck because I've heard some of the Halo music and it doesn't sound that hard to me. I could be wrong though. neutral

I think that would suck because I've heard some of the Halo music and it doesn't sound that hard to me. I could be wrong though. neutral Aw, I would kill to have Halo Music! We're probably getting another movie soundtrack again... and we won't know till the very end of this year. I just want something decent this year, we never get anything good.

Our band is going to be splitting into to high schools next year. One is playing the music of Chicago and the other will be playing Indiana Jones.

My director has been looking at an Earth, Wind, & Fire show for ours...I think he's gonna go with it.
But I dunno. And we dunno.
One of the students is looking for the sheets for the 16-Bit Show, a marching band in California did it once. It was amazing.

thats nt even fair.. we dont even get hints. we only know at the end of the school year when our bd posts the posters... i really wanna do pirates of the caribbean music... its so awesome, it makes me wanna cry cause everytime someone mentions it, its a no... they did it the year i was in eighth grade for concert band, and phantom of the opera. it sucks. my friends and i were gonna do a trio indoor guard thing to pirates music, but we're all procrastionators... hehe.

we're doing "harmonic journey", the phantom regiment's 03 show. one of the movements is like canon in d, but thats all i know. its pretty aweome

...Mmmn. This makes me mad. We won't know our show until Fall of this year. Gosh. Makes me mad. Rumour has it that we're doin' Queen or Halo 2 music. I opted the idea of a "Santana" [Black Magic Woman, especially] piece.
