Life as a Puppy

Day 3

Marty knew what he wanted. He wanted it badly. He had the hunger. He could feel it on Lucia’s tongue. In her mouth. In her throat. Marty wanted to rip it apart. He wanted to chomp on it. He wanted to bite one way and then the other. He would destroy all. He wanted to chew.

Lucia slipped out of her bed and slid, creeping across the floor. Lifting up Lucia’s throw rug, he licked it slowly. The kitten was silent for once. Maybe she was still sleeping? If that was so he had to use the time wisely. He locked her teeth down around it and began chewing. Holding it still he pulled on it. He ripped at it. He wanted to destroy. Lucia’s teeth weren’t as strong as he remembered his own to be, but this was fun. Using her arms for additional pressure, Marty tore it apart. By the time he was finished, the rug was in tatters.

-----

When Lucia woke up her body was sitting at her desk, on her computer watching youtube videos about dogs. The kitten didn’t like that the mutt could control her body why she slept. Not that it mattered, she reasoned. Oh you’re up, Marty said plainly once he realized her mind was no longer elsewhere.

Yeah, so what do you want to do today? A laugh that was in Lucia’s voice, but so unlike hers – more of a high pitched barking than a giggle -- erupted from her as the dog in the video did a flip to catch the stick in midair. ”Oh I’m all set for today…” She spun the chair around quickly so Lucia could see his hard work this morning.

Lucia’s room as destroyed. The rug was ripped to pieces. The legs of her bed had teeth marks in them. Her covers were ripped up. What’d you do….

The barking laugh pushed out of Lucia’s throat as another video came to a close.

Day 4

Lucia woke up a little tired. When that happened, she knew she had to eat. I hate to be a killjoy, but we need to go to a graveyard so I can eat. All you have to do is go there. Then we can do whatever you want. Are you kidding me?! I don’t wanna! I wanna dig today! I wanna dig today! You have to or I’ll die. You can dig after that. There’s even one on the property that would work.

The kitten led her possessor to the animal graveyard behind her house. Since living there, it had grown a bit with the animals’ souls she had helped. The first bird she helped – the one who was eaten by the snake. A rabbit she had found. A stray cat. The puppy stopped in the graveyard. Now what?

Lucia would have rolled her eyes or sighed if she had any control. Just chill here for a while.

Five minutes later, the puppy was making Lucia pace back and forth. Is it done yet? Can I dig now?! With the frei’s eyes he glanced down. Fine. If he had to stay here. He would dig here. Crunching down he smiled feeling the dirt. What are you doing? I’m gonna dig. No! She watched as her fingers slowly clawed the dirt. Noooo!! NoNoNonononono!. Lucia began digging in earnest her fingers quickly became dirty as she scraped up the earth. She yelped in pain – the kitten wasn’t sure whether the cry came from her, her body, or the puppy – as she broke a nail against a stone. Please don’t let him dig up a body.

As the hole deepened, the dirt became a darker color. It became embedded in her fingernails, or at least in the ones she had left. ”Roooooll around!” Marty said out loud before flopping Lucia’s body down in the dirt and rolling around it, her mouth open and tongue out. This is disgusting. But at least there were no bones or corpses involved. Fine. Fine. Fine. Time for another bath!!!

Day 5

“And good news to those Gambinans who enjoy their canine companions, there is a dog show this afternoon at the expo center! It is open to the public, and all pet dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash!”

Dog show?! I wanna go to that! The box said it was today. We’re doing that! Marty bounded to get Lucia ready to go. They got on the bus that traveled to the island and, after some more embarrassing sniffing, Lucia got off at the expo center stop. Don’t do anything to embarrass me. Please don’t do anything to embarrass me.

After entering the expo center, Lucia looked around, traveling to all of the areas where she was able. She saw the owners with their dogs. She saw the show dogs, on display on the main floor. Suddenly, a leashed dog, a full grown female German Shepherd, came up to Lucia and began sniffing her ribbon. ”Wow. Wow. Wow. You are hot.” You’ve got to be kidding me. Marty stroked the fur of the Shepherd with Lucia’s hand as he leaned down to sniff. ”Oh wow, baby. You’re in heat.” Gross!!

”Oh sorry!” said the dog’s owner, noticing that she was sniffing the raevan. ”Shelly! Come here girl!” The dog gave one last sniff before trotting back to her owner, her tail wagging behind her. Don’t you dare follow her!

Shush up! Shush up! Shush up! Marty followed the shepherd and her owner, but Lucia’s eyes never left the trotting butt of the dog. This is gross! You seriously need to stop! Marty ignored Lucia this time and as the owner stopped at a sign to see all of the large breed show dog’s pictures, he pounced. He wrapped Lucia’s arms around the waist of the Shelly the shepherd and began humping her with Lucia’s upper body. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! ARE YOU ******** KIDDING ME?! LET GO OF HER!! EWWW! EW! EW! GET OUT OF MY BODY IF YOU'RE GOING to BE A SICK ******** PERVERT! I DON'T WANT TO HUMP A DOG!

”What the hell?! STOP THAT!!!” the harsh voice of Shelly’s guardian called out as a few guards came over and pulled Lucia away by the shoulders. Marty tried to bite the hands that were touching Lucia’s shoulders, keeping him from continuing to appreciate the dog. He cried out as they roughly grabbed her arms and pulled her out the nearest exit.

”AND STAY OUT!!” the guards yelled as they tossed the raevan into the alley. See what you did! Marty didn’t care, though. He was happy he saw and smelled such a beautiful sexy animal again. Time to go home. TO THE BUSS!!!!

Day 6

Lucia and Marty were just walking today. They went for a walk on the road that ran along the shore. Lucia was glad, after plowing over little kids, sniffing dog asses, chewing up her room, and digging in a ******** grave yard to just be walking today. Well. Floating. That was fine though. A car was coming – one of the first of the day.

HOLY s**t! I’m gonna catch it! I’m gonna catch it! Catch it! Catch it! Catch! Catch catch catch! CATCH! Lucia’s body was flung into the road after the silver car. She was floating, faster and faster. Chasing the car. As it got too far away she slowed down and stopped, panting.

She began pacing, back and forth. Back and forth. From one side of the road to the next. What are you doing?!Waiting. I wanna chase it. I wanna catch it. Chase. Catch. The kitten sighed internally. She couldn’t wait until Friday came.

The glint of metal reflecting the sun was in the distance. It’s coming!!! Marty spun Lucia’s body in a circle over and over and over again. What was that ribbon?! It was almost like a TAIL! He spun faster and faster, trying to catch it while waiting for the car to get closer. Then he pounced! as the ribbon floated slowly around and under Lucia’s body. Sighing, Marty looked towards where he saw the car before. It was closer!! Marty got Lucia’s body ready. He faced the way the car was pointing. Scrunched up her body, ready to push off and chase with all his might.

As the car came closer, Marty started sprinting. Lucia’s hands were on the ground, helping push her body forwards. As Marty reached full speed – his, which was faster than Lucia’s – the car passed them and he swerved into the road behind it. Almost. Almost. Chase. Chase Chase. Owww! It hurt! Lucia’s body hurt! What the hell?!

He was going too fast for Lucia’s body not to hurt. He was pushing her muscles more than she ever had or could.
Ahh! Stop! Stop! This hurts! Why does your body hurt?! I WANNA CATCH IT!!

Well you can’t! At most you can catch a bicycle. It’s the same as when you were alive. The raevan pouted and slowed to a stop. She was sore. She was tired. And Marty didn’t like it. The day was over anyway and tomorrow he would be going home. Not that it mattered to him. He didn’t want to be in Lucia’s body if it was all sore anyway.

Day 7

Lucia woke up happy. Today was it! He would be gone! And there was nothing else that mattered. She could get new sheets. She could fix her current bed, or move it so the bite marks didn’t show. She could replace the rug. And he body would be less sore in a few days. But Marty would no longer be in her body. That would be nice.

Marty woke up happy. He had done everything he wanted to. The only problem was that he couldn’t catch the car – but Lucia’s body was too sore to do that anyway. And he didn’t want to be in this sore body any more. He was ready to go back. To die and stay dead. After all, there he could run at top speed without this stupid muscle hindrance.

Suddenly Lucia was in the other world. Lucia was surprised that she couldn’t even control when she went back to the spirit world. She sighed internally, just happy that Marty didn’t put up a fuss. Marty looked around. Well this wasn’t pleasant. Where was the field? Where were the ponds? He wanted to run! He wanted to swim! What’s with this?! You’re from up there. See the wall? Float up through the hole in the top right.

Lucia floated up, through the doorway, and was suddenly in yet another world. Bright green fields were everywhere. She could see ponds and even a lake down the rolling hill. Marty scrunched up his soul and bounded out of Lucia’s body. Zipping down the hills, running at full speed free from muscles’, tendons’, and bones’ restraints.

Lucia, on the other hand, was pushed back as Marty pushed off from her and out of her body. Her body fell back and hit the ground hard as Lucia realized she was no longer pushed to the side. She wasn’t squished anymore. She could control her body now! Floating up, Lucia moved her shoulders. ”Thank god. Can I go home now?” she thought out loud and, the desire for home, for rest, for doing what she wanted to do pulled her out of the spirit world and back into her room. The frei grabbed her favorite book – Pride and Prejudice – curled up on her bed and began reading.

The effects of this trouble could be dealt with later. For now, she just wanted to chill. And she could.

”Yuu. Can we talk?” Lucia didn’t know how she felt about this. She knew her guardian should know about the whole Marty thing, but Yuurei was never really a capable guardian. Telling her about it after the fact wouldn’t really help. She decided to try anyway.

”One minute!” she called out, thinking Lucia was up stairs. She actually wanted to talk?! What did she want now? She sighed in frustration at having to put down her current project. Her eyes glanced towards Omen’s old bed, still unmoved, and wondered if she should get another familiar. Turning towards the hidden staircase, Yuurei’s eyes widened in surprise to see Lucia waiting at the foot of it. The raevan hadn’t been in Yuurei’s basement since she had been shown it. She turned up her nose at the idea of witchcraft. So unlike Omen. But here she was. ”Oh hey!” she said after a second. ”What can I do for ya?”

Lucia stared at Yuurei. She looked fine, as always, but Lucia knew that she had been screwing around with that stuff. There was smoke swirling around the basement, but with out a wind to drive it. She sighed. ”I wanted to talk about last week…” Lucia looked at her guardian. Fake smile. Fake boobs. Fake personality. Fake. She didn’t really care.

”What about it?” Lucia was stalling and Yuurei wanted her to get to the point. She wanted to get back to work. She glanced at the chemicals on the table.

No. She didn’t care. Lucia watched her eyes flick to the little toy chemistry set or whatever it was. ”I just – wanted to let you know I’m probably going to go back . . . to – you know – the spirit world.” Maybe someone else would understand.

Okay… ”Alright.” Yuurei said, turning back to the chemicals. Lucia had never told her before and it was nice to know, but the mixture had to be tended to or should would have wasted the past 45 minutes. She stirred a beaker filled with the smoke, and smiled as the smoke around the room swirled with it. Perfect. ”Is that it?” she asked with her back to the frei.

Lucia was already three floors up, ignoring her guardian from the confines of the library.

Yuurei frowned, but turned back to her work. Lucia needed help.

Journal

20 January 2010

I’m still a little tired from the possession, but it’s getting better. I'll never be okay with dogs again. I saw one at a grave yard and it scared the s**t out of me! I'm such a wimp. Oh, I eat at the graveyards every day now, just to get strength back. I mean, I think I'm fine, but I want to make sure of it. I keep thinking about going back there -- to Shanna's world, but I'm kind of scared. I'll be fine as long as I don't go to the stupid dog world, but I don't want to die over there. And I’m getting restless. I want to go out. I want to get around. At least go shopping. But I have to stay home according to Yuu. This sucks. I’m tired of being a prisoner. And Yuu’s been getting increasingly annoying.

---

Yuurei just blew up something down stairs and the house shook. Screw this journal thing. She was the one who told me to do it anyway.

The kitten was lounging. Since Marty had left, that’s pretty much what she had been doing. Now that she was feeling more herself, Lucia wanted to go back. She would avoid the furthest right door on the third level, but other than that, she still wanted to know more about the world. She was drawn to it. And she felt better. She was strong again. But she wanted to know what happened to all of the souls she helped. Where were they? So far, the only one she had seen was Shanna. She sighed. Maybe she should try to talk to Yuu again. Suddenly there was a loud bang from the floor below and the smell of rotten eggs came wafting up from the basement . . . again. ”SORRY!!!” Maybe not. When Yuurei was such a blockhead, it wasn’t hard to wish you were somewhere else. Even if it meant joining the dead. The frei closed her eyes and was transferred to the dark world. Each of the moons in the sky were full to Lucia’s surprise. The world around her was lit up and the birch trees looked even more white with the rays of the moons. Floating in front of the Wall of Doors, Lucia stared at the third floor’s most furthest right door. Suddenly, from the closest cave, Lucia’s well-attuned ears heard sobbing. She couldn’t tell, from the pitch, if was a woman or a man. But either way the cries were heart-wrenching. She helped everyone. She always helped.

Shanna had told her to stay away from the caves…but the girl – she decided it was a girl, even though it was pretty deep, as she had never heard a man actually sob – she seemed so upset. She was so used to helping souls, spirits, freis. It just came naturally to her. The frei floated a little closer to the origin of the sound. It was coming from a cave in the mountain to the left of the wall. The same place she had heard the screams from last time. The sobs grew louder as she slowly floated towards the cave. From this viewpoint, Lucia couldn’t see the top of the mountain. She the cave entrance was large and threatening. The entrance loomed above her in a mass of gray and greenish stalactites and ridges. As she got closer, she heard a sound that flattened her ears. It sounded like knives being sliced down a sharpener. It was like nails on a chalkboard to her, but was music to any sadist’s ear. As she approached the cave’s mouth, the kitten couldn’t see. And the sobbing…She felt even worse as she heard the sharp intake of breath between each sob. The inside of the cave was so dark. ”Are you okay?” she called out, expecting to hear an echo. But her voice was flat. The sound like the knife – so irritating to the kitten – and the sobbing stopped as soon as she spoke. Lucia waited for a response. 10 seconds. ”Hello?” 10 more seconds.

Then suddenly, out of the dark sprang a white arm with very defined muscles. Lucia went to cry out in surprise, but her voice was stopped as the strong hand wrapped around her throat and pulled her through the black viscous material that she had thought was only the lightless cave. The hand grasped her throat tightly and the face accompanying it stared at her with grin. Inside the cave was a world lit by candles and roaring fire. The body accompanying the arm was a very muscular handsome man in his late 20s with a charming smile lighting up his face as he gripped the fragile neck of the frei.

Her wings flapped uselessly and her fingers clawed desperately at his hand. But most of her nails were still barely grown back from her week with Marty. And anything she tried wouldn’t work. Lucia’s brain screamed for oxygen. What the hell had she gotten herself into? The frei flailed for two minutes that seemed like days. The man laughed at her useless effort, and from here it was clear that his maniacal laughter, as he held the throat of the Kitten, was what she had thought was the sobbing. Her effort to help had only led her into yet another bad situation.

”So you’re actually alive, huh?” he asked. His voice was deep and even toned, but he loosened his grip on her neck slightly, until she could breath again and he laughed as she took deep breaths, instinctively trying to reoxygenate her blood. The pulse at her neck under his hand made him satisfied. It was quick, but was slowing slightly now that she could breathe. Foolish self-assurance.

Lucia went to speak – to plead. Just let me go! I’ll leave! I’m sorry I came so close, but as she opened her mouth, she felt the muscles in his hand tighten, as if he was threatening to cut off her air supply again. Survive, she thought, just survive this… And I’ll never come back to the caves again. Please. I’ll leave this world forever if you want.

His dark eyes stared at her with triumph and satisfaction Good, she wasn’t going to talk. He had hated it when they talked and when they pleaded before he had killed them when he was alive. However, this thing – whatever she was – could definitely help him out. She was alive. That was all he needed. He tensed his hand, not squeezing tighter, just putting a little additional pressure on her throat to let her know he was in control. ”My name is Brian Sparks. Nice to meet you, whoever you are. But you will be of use to me.” Time to relive the good old days.

Brian’s hand hadn’t released the frei’s neck yet. But with his other hand he continued to sharpen his knives, grinning as she flinched at each brush of metal on metal. ”There’s nothing like using a knife, you know.” He lifted up the sharp knife and held it against her shoulder, not hard enough to cut her, but enough to make her panic again. ”See if I had a gun to you you’d back away or try to talk me out of it. But a knife – ” he said with a grin as her eyes went wide with panic and he felt her pulse race again. ”A knife causes real panic. With a knife it’s personal. You can see and feel the real person. And if it’s sharp, like this one is, and you push hard enough, the meat, the flesh just melts as you slice.” He watched her face the entire time he spoke. And smiled as her panic developed more and more. Oh yeah. She was really scared now. And she should be. ”I bet you’d love it if you could just experience it. A knife in your hands as it pierces so smoothly into flesh. The look on their face.” Brian smiled. ”How about it? Want to know what it’s like?”

This guy is ******** crazy! Get me out of here. She was painfully aware of his hand, still around her neck. Still so powerful. And if he gripped it the right way, she bet, that would be it. But no. She didn’t want to stab anyone. The kitten shook her head slowly but stopped short.

”DO YOU ******** WANT IT?!” Brain screamed at her, strands of saliva escaping his mouth with the force of his voice, his eyes hard piercing as the kitten’s head stopped moving and he felt her tremble. His face melted into a charming smile. She’d find out how it felt. Wanting it or not. And if not, he thought, it’d be all the more fun for him.

Lucia watched helplessly as he placed the knife back on the table. She felt helpless. It was like with the puppy. She had no control over herself. But this wasn’t a puppy. And she still physically controlled her body, but she wasn’t able to control her actions without fear. So she just watched. She watched as his now free hand touched her shoulder again. Only this time, instead of being solid, his hand slipped through her skin. No! No! No! No! NO! the frei thought as she felt her mind being pushed aside. She saw the devious grin on his face as the hold on her neck released and his body disappeared. Yes.

Brian’s maniacal smile played on Lucia’s lips. Her grin was broad and purposeful with a slight sneer to it. He was looking at himself in the mirror in Lucia’s foyer. His toned body wasn’t reflected in what he saw. In fact, Brian didn’t like Lucia’s body much at all. She was too thin. Too weak. And what the ******** was she? But she was a body. And that body was his now. He flexed her shoulders back and then relaxed, trying to look like the scared young girl that had blindly strolled to his place. There, he thought.

Oh ********> Lucia thought as Brian, now controlling her body, made her look completely normal. She had only had a week to her body and now here she was, out of control again. She longed for the days of Marty’s friendly foolish frolicking because Brian scared her the s**t out of her. He acted like a ******** killer. She was possessed by a killer. The Kitten didn’t even know what to think. She knew from the last possession that there was no way out of this. If she wasn’t strong enough to push out a puppy soul, there was no way she could push out the muscular guy controlling her now.

Brian wanted more information about Lucia. And his smile lit up her face when he found he could hear her thoughts. He would bide his time for now, living her life. Then when the time was right, he’d make his move. For now, he’d be a dumb… floating thing. He floated her up to her room and began looking through her things, trying to get more information. A diary. A journal. An iPod. A computer. Photographs. All of these, he thought will give him the information he needs. All of these – with the exception of a diary – he found in her room.

He found that if he thought hard about something – her journal for example – he would almost remember where it was – upstairs in the library. Only it wasn’t his memory – it was hers. This, he thought, would make it very convenient once he made his mood. He could communicate with her mind, by asking questions out loud and by thinking to himself. But his internal thoughts were his own. She, however, had no thoughts of her own. He knew she was cramped. He didn’t exactly feel normal – how could he?! He was in a female raevan! – but he was able to manhandle her mind out of the way. At least he had control. He knew she was scared – a concept he relished. He loved knowing how scared his victims were. And in this instance, Lucia had no hidden thoughts. She couldn’t pretend to be brave. She couldn’t harden her demeanor to hide that she was scared shitless. He knew how much she was freaking out. And he loved it.

Maybe he’d ease her into it. Who didn’t she like? Who did she want to hurt? Who had she hurt? Did this thing even know how to fight? A name came to mind as if he was remembering an event he never experienced. The beach. Namini – she was okay. But Prajna was loathful. Prajna was awful. Prajna was it? He didn’t understand that one, but if he was going to really ******** with this Lucia’s head. Prajna would be first.

Lucia smiled maniacally and laid on her bed. With the door closed, no one noticed that she wasn’t smiling like herself. Brian was almost okay with the body now that Lucia had shut up. Lucia was slowly getting tired of pleading. Please get out of my body! I’m so sorry I came to your room thing! Please! Please! While Marty had responded, Sparks ignored her. He continued using her body as if she wasn’t communicating anything. She didn’t know how he knew everything about her room. He didn’t know how he was able to find anything he wanted. She just hoped that she could figure out something before it was too late. He had googled himself – she had seen – he had his own page on Wikipedia. What she saw scared her into silence.

Wikipedia
Brian Sparks (April 29, 1984 - October 18, 2009) was a Gaian serial killer dubbed the “Thriller Killer” because his one survivor described him as “…thrilled. He was giggling non-stop as if he was incredibly excited and giddy” while torturing. Slashing, stabbing, bludgeoning, drowning, asphyxiating, and strangling were some of the ways Sparks killed his victims. He was never apprehended, but was instead killed by a would-be victim with a legal concealed pistol. He was pronounced dead on the scene. It is unknown exactly how many victims Sparks had, as he was only identified and deemed murderer postmortem through DNA evidence. Though investigations are still underway, the police have identified 9 definite victims, but there may be as many as 50.

Lucia floated out of her room and stared over the balcony into the great room at Yuurei laying on the couch watching yet another movie. She had been living with the woman for over a year and a half and she still didn’t know how to manipulate her guardian completely. Bri floated Lucia’s body down the stairs into the living room. He plopped her body on the couch by the blonde’s feet and laid the frei’s winning smile on her face. He had practiced that smile in the entryway and upstairs in front of the mirrors making sure it looked genuine, convincing, and sweet.

Yuurei glanced over at Lucia as the frei sat on the couch with her. ”Wanna watch it with me?” she asked plainly. She looked at Lucia’s smile and could not help but smile herself. She looked so happy. Though this week Lucia had kept herself pretty confined, really tired for some reason, ever since two weeks ago, when she had come home covered in something and taken a bath, the frei had been so happy, so pleasant to be around. It was weird.

”Hey Yuu. I was thinking we should probably call Prajna and it’s guardian. Maybe we can go over there or something and apologize for what I did when sick.” Brian turned Lucia’s head and looked at Yuurei with a winning smile.

Lucia knew Yuurei wouldn’t be so stupid as to believe this. The frei had never apologized for attacking that thing. And she never would. She smirked internally. Surely her guardian would smell something wrong and contact the lab. That – the frei saw – was the only foreseeable solution. Confine her in the lab until…But no. She didn’t trust Dr. Kyou to help her out of this. It wasn’t that he didn’t get rid of the infection – quite the contrary – but the way he went about it, by manipulating her, just didn’t instill much confidence. Either way, her guardian would notice and would be able to think of something. Even if it did involve Kyou…

”Okay! I’ll give Namini a call. She did offer to have her brother cook us dinner sometime. I can take her up on it and you can be sure to apologize then!” Yuurei was happy for this change in the frei’s personality. If she was going to be more pleasant to live with that was all the better.

Brian accidently let a smirk come across Lucia’s face, before he fixed her outward appearance. He’d have to work on letting his reflexes be displayed on the outside. But either way, it had worked. Yuurei was a dumb as Lucia had thought, even though the girl seemed to be metaphorically beating her head against a wall after the hope she had that Yuu would come through for her. You have no one to count on, frei.

Lucia floated up and back to her room as she heard Yuurei getting up and calling the other guardian.

”Tomorrow at 5 would be great!” Yuurei said with a glance up at the balcony as she saw Lucia’s hair disappear behind the wall as she floated towards her room.

Lucia was afraid. What was he planning for tomorrow? She was helpless in her own skin and could only watch with horror as Brian packed a purse for their dinner. Complete with a switchblade, brass knuckles, and a collapsible baton, her purse was deadly. The kitten didn’t know what to think. She didn’t care about Prajna’s welfare, but her guardian was nice enough. Where the hell did you get those?! she asked each time she saw a new weapon.

Brian twisted Lucia's face into a crazy smile and he started giggling uncontrollably. His laughter made the Kitten's shoulders bob up and down, her eyes closed and he tossed her head back with raucous high-pitched crazy laughter. You were sleeping. And it doesn’t matter what you think, frei. You don’t have a choice in the matter.

Lucia paled internally. He could do stuff while she was asleep. What else did he do that she didn't know about?

Breaking News

”We’re back with a breaking news story. Police suspect a Brian Sparks copycat in an investigation of a death in a Barton area coffee shop that was ruled a homicide, officials said.

An autopsy performed yesterday determined that an unidentified woman died from repeated stab wounds in a vicious attack, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Police officials could not comment any more on the specifics of the investigation. However, we at WNGT have information from an officer who wished to remain anonymous that, as in the Sparks attacks, there was no intrinsic evidence other than the slashing pattern.

An uncle of a 22-year-old female resident said family have not been able to contact their relative and fear she may have been the woman who was killed. Officials have not allowed him to view the body.

Authorities said the body was unidentifiable. He said that family members are flying in with dental records to aid in the identification.

The uncle said his niece was an employee at Café Café who worked closing down the store and may have been in the area.

“I couldn’t sleep last night, that’s how worried I am, and they were all crying over there [Gambino]” the uncle said.

Because of the suspicious nature of the homicide, and it’s apparent similarity to the homicides of serial killer Brian Sparks, police are urging citizens to be on their guard when traveling alone at night."

Yuurei glanced up at the television. That's not too far from here, she thought as she glanced at the front door, making sure it was locked. Lucia hadn't heard the report; she was upstairs in her room.
