Lin groaned in pain as he suddenly came close to her. Her heart was racing again and she was finding it partially hard to breathe.
But she still struggled to her feet and glared up at the very tall figure of Riser. "I think you are mildly obsessed with my professor, with how much you speak of him! And no matter what emotions were inside of me, I would never, EVER want to speak with you! You say I am foolish, but you are the complete fool. You may be ancient, but you are quite foolish in one are, more so than I am. White does not mix with black. You CHOOSE to be dark, and yet you expect even white users to fall at your feet in allegiance."
She reached her hand out, and though it caused sharp pains to shoot through her, she still forced herself to dig her index finger into his chest. "I will never want to associate myself with the likes of you. You fail to understand the core biology of our very natures. It is science."

Upon hearing a scream, the robotic woman turned around swiftly, scanning the area she had just left. Infrared lenses activated within her eyes. The man and the girl were still there - and it seemed the man was somehow hurting the girl, despite them not touching.
She quickly walked back towards them. They weren't her charges, but her duty was to uphold peace. This was not peaceful. It must be fixed.

"Do you know why I speak of him so much?" He grinned, this time it was clearly intended to scare. "It's because I've been inside your head this entire time. All you think about is Akakios, Akakios, Akakios. When you're my age and able to crawl around in peoples minds, you learn what to use against them." He stepped forward, pushing her backwards into a tree. He was now only a few inches from her, and yet his pressure still felt as though he were in the tree, if not farther away; he had more control than he had ever let on. He looked down at her at last, and merely removed his hood. With his face unobstructed, Lin felt an immediately calming sensation rush over her. Although there was nothing particular that could be picked out, his face was extremely familiar. In fact, it reminded her of her professor in many ways. "Things aren't quite as black and white as they appear Lin, there will always be a gray." His voice was calming as well, it was as if all anger and darkness had left him when he removed that hood. "And in fact, that gray is lying unconscious in a shack not too far from here."

Lin hated when he touched her to push her backwards into a tree. It was like a knife digging into her each time. Did he not realize that he was made up of dark magic, so that no matter what he did, it would be a part of him?
She gasped when her back hit the tree and he was so close to her. Ok, this was not cool. She was actually scared right now, more scared than she had been in her entire life. But she didn't want to show it. Showing fear showed weakness, and he would use that against her.
And when he revealed his face, instead of calming her, it frightened her even more. It looked similar to Professor Akakios's, but worse. It was evil and cruel. There was nothing calming about it. She could see into his eyes now, and it was like staring into the pits of hell.
She was gasping for breath now, and not because of the blackness but because of how scared she was. "You... you are nothing.... NOTHING like him!"

"Who's nothing like whom now?" Ophiuchus interrupted. He had suddenly appeared some thirty feet away from Lin and Riser, and was strolling towards them - unusually calm for what was happening.

"You elves make no sense at all. Did Akakios ever tell you why I look like him? It's because I don't, he actually looks like me. All humans on this planet are descended from me and me alone, every single person can be traced back to me. The line stops there, I was the first and I am to be the last. I'm not entirely sure where your people came from to be honest, but they've been here for a decent span of time." He stepped back and merely looked at her, puzzled by the reactions of this strange girl. "You do realize that you're doing nothing but frightening yourself right? The only reason I look like him is because you want me to. Hence why I removed my hood in the first place, generally my face brings about a sensation of peace in people for they see who they want to see in me. Perhaps the effect doesn't work that way with your people, oh well." He turned to face the white one strolling towards them. Casually he shot two fingers to his forehead and saluted him. "Howdy bucko."

Lin's eyes widened at what Riser said, but she quickly calmed herself down. What he said was a lie. Professor Akakios wasn't descended from this monster. Riser was just making another lie.
She gasped when she heard her professor's familiar voice beside them and whipped her head around to look at his comforting presence. But she was far from being calm right now. She didn't want her professor to see her actually communicating with this creature.

"Some protege you've got here snake, she's thicker than a glass of lead. Ask him yourself! He's one of my descendants!" He was still probing her thoughts, in fact there was probably no point in their interaction that he wasn't.

"Lin, your scream is pitch perfect, you know that? Almost impossible not to hear." Ophiuchus was forcing himself to be calm. He absolutely hated Riser, and yet at the same time, he didn't. For the crap he did, he wasn't too much of a liar, and Ophiuchus appreciated that.
Somewhat.
He still hated him.
"Riser, either step away from her, and move the tree so she cam leave. And I don't have to answer any questions."

Lin glared at Riser for still being inside of her head apparently. He knew what she was thinking.
And then her professor had mentioned her scream. The scream she had made when she was in pain. It embarrassed her deeply to know that her professor knew how weak she could be, how she had showed her weakness in such a way. It had just hurt so badly before. She had never accounted so much darkness in her life.
She turned her head away from Riser and her professor in complete embarrassment and swore to herself that she wouldn't cry again.

"God I hate both of you so much, you're both nothing but annoying little insects. And hey," he looked to Ophiuchus "I'm particularly sick of everyone thinking they can treat me like s**t and push me around since I lost my power. I admit my life would be much less interesting without you, but at the same time, I want to just feel your blood pouring across my hands. And don't think it's too late, one too many comments like that and I may just be feeding your carcass to the crows." He drew his hood up, and immediately poured his energy into the area. Trees became black and withered, the grass died, and the nearby streams and rivers turned a thick inky black. And then, he began to walk off. That was that, he had tried to be kind, and when that had failed and he felt threatened, he proved that he was not to be pushed around even in his diminished state.

Ophiuchus sighed in exasperation. "Oh, wonderful..." Unlike his student, the darkness flooding the area never particularly bothered him.
"Riser, please come back... I'm sorry for snapping at you."
Oh, what a horrible blow to his ego this was becoming...
The woman stood in front of Riser, block that particular path. "All humans are descended from you, yes or no?" She asked simply. This was amazing information to get a hold of.

{{No I didn't want him to leave!! I was hoping we'd get to see him go all bad a**. lol}}
Lin cried out in pain and sorrow as she felt the life around her being ripped out of this world. Everything around her was dying, and to an elf, that was sheer torture. A lack of life around an elf could bring even a very powerful elf to his knees. Elves lived for nature and white magic.
But Lin was so weak that her cry was very soft, and she simply sank down along the tree to the ground. Like the environment around her, some of her essence was beginning to seep out of her. Even her lips were starting to take on a bluish cast and her eyes were looking like empty glass.
The pendant resting against Lin's chest, the one that contained water inside of it from her home's magical spring, started to glow and then shot a blue aura out around her, trying to heal her. No dark magic could get inside of it, but it also used up a great deal of the water. And with everything around Lin dying, it wouldn't be able to help Lin that much.
But the one thing that hurt Lin more than anything else that had happened was that in her haze of pain, she heart her professor apologize to Riser. She heard him apologize to that vessel of darkness.

He stopped at what Ophiuchus had said. "If I was able to form a revolver in my hand right now, I'd put a ******** slug through your forehead without a second thought." He knew it would have little effect, but the feeling was there; he was pissed.
"Did you hear me say that or not? Stupid ******** machines."
