i was first trumpet in middle school and now that i'm in high school and only a little freshmen, i'm on all the 2nd parts in MB. but at least i made it into jazz band.
i still have my beginner trumpet though lol ot's pretty old and crappy, but i don't have enough money to get a new one. but when i do, i'm gettin a silver one! lol

I come from a relatively small band program, and this year, we have ten trumpets. Last year, we had six (more like 5 since the other one didn't show up half the time). So now that we've doubled our size, our BD expects twice as much out of a single individual than he did last year. It rocks, though, having 10. It feels really powerful (felt sorry for my section leader, though...he had to conduct memorization tests in the span of about a week, and he lives half an hour away...)

We have 5 trumpets in our symphonic band this year. And I got last chair, WTF! scream
I should be second, at LEAST.
Our BD is stupid as hell. "For the chair placements, I'm going to do it at random. You can challenge up later."
Who the hell does that?

TRUMPET IS THE BEST IVE BEEN PLAYING FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS,IM IN THE 7TH GRADE AND CAN ALREDY PLAY NEW YORK SYMPHONY MUSIC INCLUDING 1812 OVERTURE FROM SYMPHONY 9.

iOggy Do I mind? eek Of course I don't mind. I was hoping I'd get Crew status... thankies! And back on-topic: I have two trumpets. One is a student-model Bach, "gold", that I use for marching. The other is a shiny, newful silver Yamaha that doesn't leave its case unless I'm in the band room or on the stage for a concert. I got it a year ago, and it still looks brand-new. *considers taking pictures of his trumpets and posting them* Ooh! Maybe we should have a BNG picture gallery? that's what our really good trumpeter does, although i think his is a bach. im just working on getting a bach! i have some crap brand. i also have a cornet i use for learning the mb music, b/c unlike the trumpet, it holds the lyre. i luvs my instrument and my section pirate

I sooooooooo envy my section leader he has a sliver stadavarious (sp?)! Maybe that's why he plays so well....I should smash it so I can become setion leader! twisted

It just seems lazy to dismiss the whole chair system.

I've heard people who have had that kind of trumpet, and I'm at that person's level. With a little help from my Yamaha Allegro. smile

hmmm....Im a senior now, and Ive only been playing trumpet for about 3 and a half years, but Im the trumpet section leader. Sadly, though, there's only 2 other trumpet players in my band (it's a very small band) One is an alumni and the other never really plays. So....yeah, Im the section leader. I guess I have more experience than the one who never really plays, though he claims he played in intermediate school...he has the experience of a noob though...

OK so our band went to its first competetion... EVER... and we got 2nd place!!!!! whats even more impressive is that we only lost by a tenth of a point!!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! i have this awesome solo for Music of the Night i pretty much play the whole song myself 3nodding yeah haha its awesome <33 heart heart heart heart

Dude, My PL teacher had a strad. Once in lesson, my valve wouldnt work so she let me use hers, OMG I LOVE IT!!! Now, I'm trying to get enough $ to get it, I doubt it though.... My trumps an Eterna by Getzen Severensen, The original kind. Not the remake. Its ANCIENT but it plays like new. Meh other one, a gay gold Olds Ambassador sux a**. I got a solo in our Vets day thing, so I get to stand up and play taps in the middle of a song *yay me!*
