Half-Youma Lieutenant Janggunite
HP: 32/50
Action: Attacking Sumner
Damage 4 + 3 (rank bonus) + 3 (faction bonus) + 5 (chaos bonus) = 15
Location: D6

He felt tumultuous, some war of not thinking any of this mattered, that he didn’t care, and a manic sort of offense. Not quite rage, but a simmering upset as the pulses of chaos reverberated around him, like a whisper of encouragement. Bizarre, he knew. Involvement in this sort of high-stress drama wasn’t anything a reasonable January would’ve done. But there was something vindicating about cracking his fist into someone else’s bones. It sounded horrible.

...It didn’t feel horrible.

Was it just the youma he’d been merged with? He wouldn’t have wanted this otherwise, would’ve shattered at all the chaos happening around him. Was it possible he could feel what it would’ve felt? Could it do that to him? Could it alter not only his body, but his mind? Who he was as a person?

Did he want to argue about it, resist, if it could make him feel good?

Janggunite shivered slightly, a motion that rippled down the length of his body, up the frills on his ears, out to the tip of his tail. He was mostly human still; he preferred to feel good. Maybe what didn’t matter was what led to it. The knight he’d been attacking was down, but there was another. SHarp pink gaze landed on a red-head in a blue scale pattern, and Janggunite dove for him with a curled fist.

Character name, rank, and a link to their journal Hyperborea, Transcended Knight of the Cosmos
HP: 72 - 14 (Lyndin's attack) = 58 HP
Action: Chasing Lyndin to D3 to continue the attack
Damage 10 (1d10) + 7 (Third Rank Bonus) + 5 (Knight Magic Bonus 1st use, 2nd use, 3rd use) + 1 (Article of Strength: +1 to all damage dealt) = 23
Location: D4 to D3

Hyperborea felt each loss of this battle very deeply through her crown of Stars. She could feel all the Auras around her that were diminishing, those that vanished completely, and those which were twisted beyond recognition by the monstrous powers of chaos. She also felt some return to the light which was heartening but it hardly made up for the losses suffered here today.

Hyperborea looked back to her old friend "Please Delphi get them out of here, I'm counting on you." She begged the older woman. "But I need to stay and see this through. I'm a Knight of the Cosmos, its my duty to protect starseeds, and I can't let this b*****d just get away with defiling my Princess' realm." She hoped Delphi would understand hoped Caer would be safe, hoped Læraðr's view of battle would not be colored by this. The darkness of Chaos enveloped her as her transcended marking glowed brightly against it's encroaching corruption. "Don't worry about me I won't let anyone get the better of me." she promised before taking off after Lyndin.

She nodded to Oberon a senshi she had seen in other battles but did not know well. "Don't worry I'm not giving up as long as I can stand." Like a star in the darkness again she raised her glowing staff. "Lyndin I don't care what you're motivations are what've done is wrong what you're trying to do is wrong. I swear even if it means hunting you to the Cauldron you'll pay for the lives and souls that were shattered here today because YOU!" She screamed at the man her iridescent eyes glowing like wrathful stars. "What gives you the right to decide who lives and who dies!" She brought her magic again to bear against him putting every bit of strength she had into the burning and blinding starlight. Once it was done she knew she had exhausted that pool of magic but she still had more she could fall back on. Even if he got away she would at least try to make it hurt

Knight Magic
She holds up her staff as the head glows silver. It creates a bright explosion of silver starlight with Hyperborea at the center. It blinds and disorientates everyone else caught in the blast with their eyes open. It causes a great burning pain in her enemies and can at player discretion leave a sunburn like wound on people.

Channeling time: 60 secs.

General Rakovanite
HP:192/200
Action: Attacking Pollux
Damage 8 + 5 (rank bonus) + 7 (faction bonus) + 10 (mission bonus) + 5 (chaos bonus) + 1 (article of strength) = 36
Location: D6

He’d warned her. Rakovanite watched through narrowed eyes the girl he’d spoken to only a moment prior. She got up, moved from the body of her fallen comrade, and attacked the generator. He’d instructed her to stay put, shown her and her sister a kindness by leaving them to themselves when it would have been more practical to ensure neither moved from where he’d left them. Something he would obviously have to rectify now.

The senshi he’d been dealing with fell.

His brother, after asking obvious, stupid questions that Rakovanite chose to ignore, put down another.

He hadn’t wanted to put more than just a warning on one scared girl. It seemed like a poor introduction to their cause. But a cursory glance around was all it took to remind him that there probably wasn’t anyone who was feeling especially welcomed by Chaos right now. Everything always had to be a struggle. Why did none of them prefer to just let it be easy? He stepped toward the desert girl.

And a wave of chilly magic blew through his path, wielded by a senshi that had just stepped into range.

Rakovanite’s gaze was still on the girl, but… she wasn’t doing much. Fear and desperation. Magic, sure. But no wings. He had to prioritize. Next time. With a terse sigh, he turned his attention toward the Eternal senshi that had turned up to help his allies. He didn’t think any preamble was necessary in the midst of battle and slung both of his spinning chakrams toward the senshi (Pollux).

Lieutenant Nobleite
HP: 50/50
Action: Attacking Pollux
Damage8 + 3 (rank bonus) + 3 (faction bonus) + 5 (chaos bonus) = 19
Location: D6

Nobleite was selectively ignoring the worst of what was happening around him.

None of it seemed pretty. None of it even seemed necessary. This should’ve been a fight among the most powerful here. Laurelite, Ganymede, and Lyndin should’ve been more than able to decide how this would end between themselves, without including so many children. So many basic senshi and untrained lieutenants and new pages. He didn’t want to be here. He didn’t think any of them wanted to be here.

Look, he just didn’t want to die and didn’t want to get in trouble, and there was a whole lot of… sabotage going on that he was sure people were going to pay for later, and in an ideal world, Nobleite wouldn’t be in on that.

The newest senshi to attack the machine felt significantly more powerful than Nobleite could handle, and if he wasn’t standing right next to a General, he probably would’ve felt more confident in just… slinking away. As it was, he didn’t think he could turn tail while Rakovanite was right there. He summoned his kiseru back to him and flung it at the chilly senshi. These useless lieutenant weapons were at least good for that...

Sava Knight of Cosmos
HP: 80 HP
Action: Pondering just letting the chaos have her, princess carrying Ein and trying to reassure her and kicking the console
Damage
Location: D4 ---> D2

Sava swallowed and shook her head, giving Ein a small smile. “Stop it, Ein. Don’t be like this. How could I forget you.” The Knight continued to hold the page close, moving away from the center console...if they could get a little further from the chaos…

It was the only thing she could think of. Maybe if they got out of the worst of it...they’d have a fighting chance.

“I could never forget you. You’re so strong Ein, stay with me, okay? They’re not going to get us. We’ll make it through...we’ll order pizza and wings, and get some ice cream and we’ll both be okay.” She cradled the page and sighed softly. “Don’t worry, you have to keep thinking positive, you’re here with me…”

...And if they go...they would at least go together.

“I won’t let chaos take me back. Won’t let it take you either. Don’t worry. I promised I would protect you. You don’t know how much you mean to me.”

Maybe...if she could just distract her.

“Can I take you on a date when we get out of here? Maybe for dessert? Or to the movies?” Even if she got a no...hopefully it would at least distract Ein from the slow corruption.

Cadet Fysarius
HP: 45/50
Action: OOC permission from Echos to get Ny moving /// Attacking Andronicus
Damage 9 + 3 (rank bonus) = 12 damage
Location: D6 -> D3 in whatever roundabout way seems feasible

Hhhh-

A strained hiss of sound, worried stream of air slid from his throat as Fysarius tried to observe all of what was happening around him. ‘Battle’ they’d been told to be prepared for. It should be expected that people would be hurt, that people would fall… And they had been warned about how the Negaverse could lay claim to someone’s starseed. He hadn’t known Lyndin would be after that same ability, but… Fysarius supposed that was one way to make sure whatever happened to a starseed was only what you wanted to happen to it.

Their allies were moving to regroup with the Commodore. They were leaving, and Fysarius had absolutely zero interest in being left behind here. Absolutely none of these people seemed like allies, but then, he hadn’t ever really been all that impressed with humanity, anyway.

Probably less so once they turned on him and his kind.

Ny would go with him wherever he went. Fysarius was entirely certain of that. It was just unfortunate that between them and him was that mad swarm of White Moon screaming and magicking the console. If they went around it, there was still the Prince and Princess, though they were arguably the lesser of two evils. And they absolutely could not stay here. Fysarius grabbed Ny’s hand, and they ran. If Lyndin was leaving, then absolutely nothing else that happened here was any of their concern. If the White Moon turned to Chaos, so be it (“they’d be fine,” said the Commodore). If they ripped each other apart, at least the Velencyans wouldn’t be around to see it.

Most of the Velencyans. Some were encased in crystal. Some had stayed behind to attack. Fysarius didn’t want to think about how this better be worth it. It had torn them apart. The people he’d trained with, his mentors and his friends. It had torn them apart. So many influenced by what they’d seen here so much that they didn’t even want to return home, to their families, the people they’d known for centuries.

His throat felt tight. Breath came more raggedly. Where he had been in the lead, Ny surpassed him, yanking on his arm and dragging him along until they were standing in nearer proximity to their comrades. And nearer proximity to all the opponents the Commodore had made. But they were leaving now. They were just trying to leave.

And it wasn’t even their business. It wasn’t the White Moon’s business what happened to Caedus. A handful of them had known him for what, a few years? The Commodore had known him for Earth centuries. Fysarius agreed that it would’ve been better if the altercation was a private one, something handled on their own planet. But how could he hope to know all the intricacies that went into this decision? It wasn’t like he’d ever seen one of his own kind take a starseed in their own hand before…

And none of them, with their few decades of knowledge would know either.

“Can you back up?” Fysarius squawked as he shouldered past a knight (Andronicus) causing a swirl of magic to descend on them. He didn’t draw his blade on her, she seemed too desperate to be someone he wanted to have an actual fight with, but he did shove her hard, to knock her back from their group. “Even if you get that starseed back, you’ll still have all of your Negaverse problem to deal with,” he spat, pointing back at their sovereigns around the perimeter. “Go deal with your own problems before forcing yourself into ours.”

Cadet Nessaela
HP: 0 HP
Action: being moved to safety via Cadets Itztenoch & Eso. Witnessing murder of Gaevan. Hoping for a miracle for their world.
Location: D4 to D3

SHe was being shuffled along still. Nessaela just wished that she could move around freely on her own. It chafed greatly at her morale to be carted around like she was, oh, what was that toy she'd seen in a shop window ... a-a ... marionette. Her gaze took in Tenoch's profile as he was sticking gamely to her side to assist when she needed it. All the while they stuck close to a gaggle of cadets that were moving to follow the Commodore. Although not all of them were with them. Nessa realized there were faces missing amongst their group.

It was during a moment of internally wondering what the Commodore hoped to do that Nessa almost missed what was happening. Her gaze widened as a black-clad senshi murdered one of their own. Gaeven's body dropped unceremoniously to the ground as the senshi stared at the prize that they'd found. Nessaela couldn't even voice the scream that she wanted to let loose with before she saw Fae-Fae move, felt Itztenoch shift her to one arm in order to fire.his blaster. Saw all the carnage. Everything.

Ducking her head into Itztenoch's shoulder Nessaela wanted to see no more. Had fate been less than kind, that could have easily been her. She moved her feet woodenly; more than willing to allow herself to go along now with no resistance. Who were they now? Lyndin had committed murder on their king...no on Velenia's senshi. And those allies of Earth that Caedus had befriended seemed intent on stopping Lyndin from leaving. Her heart hurt as much as her body did. Could they even call themselves Vanguardians now?

Earth had changed them - all of them. Even if Velencya was dying - how could a member of the Vanguard look at all the carnage being wrought and think that this was okay?

Shiningamisgirl
Itztenoch

(( talked with Kyu - even though Nessaela was "out" that she could have enough determination just to proceed towards Lyndin, but nothing else ... so ... although roused to consciousness - all she'll be doing is "following" with assistance most likely from Itztenoch if she falters. ))

Corrupt Basic Calaverite
HP: 50
Action: Friending youma boy to attack Sumner
Damage 6 + 3 (rank bonus) + 0 (out of magic) + 5 (chaos bonus) = 14
Location: D6

Nobody hung around to play with him for very long. Calaverite scuffed the toe of his boot into the grass, gave a bounce on his heel to try and peek over the taller bodies that had converged on the main console. Was it doing something? Or were the people over there just more interesting?

-No, that couldn’t be it. They’d had Doggy over here, and the strange flower man too.

It must be the magic. Everything coming out of that convergence looked like a vortex, a swirling rage of wind and ice and whatever other powers they had over there. A niggling little whisper hissed that he would’ve liked to be part of that too. He had good magic. Cool magic. He wanted to be just a little bit apart of what everyone else was doing…

But that was nonsense. And if he couldn’t go over there and his team wasn’t paying him mind over here, he’d make friends with flower-man. He was almost like Doggy. And the best way to make friends was to do what they were doing. Flower Man attacked the knight. Cala would attack the knight. He just didn’t have any magic left to give. Only teeth. And claws. And a frenzied scream as he launched himself at the Neptune squire.

Lieutenant Feldspar
HP: 42
Action: Regrouping with Rak /// Attacking Pollux
Damage 5 + 3 (rank bonus) + 3 (faction bonus) + 5 (chaos bonus) = 16
Location: D6

Feldspar had always been lucky to have backup on missions like these. Rakovanite and Sylvite had both hung around him in the Rift and were both present now, but he was probably lucky that Weissite was hanging around more closely. Tanwyn had always been something close to a big brother for him, and it was only the decade worth of difference in their ages that had put them apart since they were kids.

He huffed out a tired breath as more kept coming in, glanced back to his older, taller friend, gave him a little nudge with his shoulder. Feldspar didn’t want to say anything; it was basically their mission to work together.

And even if he was annoyed at being looked at like an invalid, it was still just… really nice to have his friends around him when s**t was hitting the fan.

“Ready to uh- do something a little more stupid?” He offered to Weissite as he notched his chin toward where Rakovanite had found an eternal senshi to assault. Not that he thought Nat needed the help of two moderately useless lieutenants, but a body was a body, and standing at the general’s side was better than hanging around, taking up space.

“C’mon, then,” Feldspar said to Weissite as he dragged himself the first few steps, then thought better of close proximity for that type of magic and just lobed his cane in the senshi’s direction. Pretty much as soon as it was out of his hand, his slumped to the side, to rest his weight against the still-whirring machine.

Corrupt Hylonome of Edelweiss
HP: 50
Action: roused to conscious
Damage ---
Location: B2 - somewhere.

At first it could have been taken as a mere figment of one's imagination: the slightest twitching of one's fingers as the mind essentially rebooted from being knocked offline for a period of time. What would be harder to ignore would be the rolling, shifting form as a stretching motion was achieved before consciousness fully returned to the young woman. Eyelashes fluttered softly before opening fully to herald the fact that once more she was among the land of the living. However the confusion about what she seemed to be doing there was plain to see. Her head turned on a swivel to take in everything before a hand went to her head. A frown, so possible to easily miss appeared albeit briefly before she clutched at her chest once more as the pain from before returned as a phantom agony. Her gaze looked skyward and she could hear the sounds of battle from what seemed like afar. Yet - there seemed to be the presence of another very close by. There was no threat perceived and so it was with slow movements did the awakened figure attempt to at least sit up to be more comfortable.

The hand clutching at her chest came down to push against the ground as she used muscles that seemed to scream in protest. She'd go slow - take it easy but she was clearly confused about where she was and what was going on.

Youma Albite *Super Corrupt of Retribution*
HP: 40 -ow!
Action: Standing, staring stunned at Amsvartnir - giving a hug - Leaving.
Damage: Only to Albites Feelings!
Location: F2 --> D4 (Headed Diagonal towards B6)
BonusAtkCalc: (For My Sanity - 1d10 +5(Rank) +2(1 Use Remains)

Everything that happened at o n c e -- blast of the generator that rocked his form and nearly put him on his knees. All the command and grouping seemed scattered and in disarray. Aqua and Jet had gone off on one, their subordinates had their own targets to pick at, and Albite felt bereft for the lack of something to follow - of a goal of target to defend - ached and snarled for every errant fleeing attack aimed his way.

Foolish baby hearts that lashed as she'd fled - Tikals cutie cosmos skirts flipping him off as she slipped off the field. The rabbit (Imhotep's) angry friend taking revenge as was his due. Some cranky page looking type (Promethi) - all these people - hit n runs. Drive by slashers that bled him and had him snarl without target---

Except for the one. Flare of sparks and sparkling stars that caught his skin - that lit him up and seared deep. Wasn't even the paint that caught him off guard so much as it was the *person*. Eyes wide and the red sear of rage that slipped over and through - that settled like something so cold he shivered beneath the damage that had been done.

Sought for warmth that wasn't anywhere he was.

He'd let them all go hadn't he? Let them live, hadn't had to, could've hounded in like he was made for, like he was meant to do. Realized belatedly that Aqua's orders might've been wrong for him to follow -- he shouldn't have spared a one or spread the love - shoulda homed in until nothing was left but bodies....

Wouldn't have been as fun, but......

Albite stalked back up, stood over Amsvartnir and stared him down. Writhed hot cold around the dark bleeding rainbow of his unscathed form. Wounded noise that left him as he yanked the other in for a hug and whispered dark and close--as he bled on black and stained the rainbows red--
"Love you babe - but if I ever see you again in any color other then black? I'll kill you." sweetly, softly, slowly. Oh with love he would've done it. Lashed him down and pulled him apart - made him into a more manageable spray of colors instead of someone who could wound him so easily just by being near.

Instead he let him go --- tentacles and bones that hissed and rattled with warnings loud as he bounded off. Turned his steps and strides into a straight run as he fled. Towards distant hail and burning fires off end..

Heard the tinkling laughter of his favorite Sucubabe in the background (Meridiana) - found it grating rather than enticing. Found that everything felt cruel and heavy and he didn't like it - the way the chaos crawled extra across his skin and instead of bolstering his joy, made him feel heavy and ******** them all and the black and white horses they rode in on. He had a fire pit to go play in.

Item: Rugose Pendant Spooky Visual Aid
- A blackened, wrinkled rock set into a silver pendant with an indigo glow trapped inside. It can be found discarded in Negaspace or the Rift. To use the item, an agent or Negaverse senshi must energy drain the rock. Once drained, the rock will crack and disintegrate. The rock's violet light will then envelop the user, cloaking them in the appearance of a youma. A youma aura will overwhelm the user's natural aura, though it will not disguise their aura. Their youma appearance must adhere to youma guidelines for personal or player youma. The user does not gain any special abilities while under the effects of the item, and their current abilities are not typically hampered by the item. The Rugose Pendant's effects last until the character powers down or until 3 hours have passed, whichever is sooner. The Pendant may be used once a day.

Magic:
Sailor Scout Attack: Binding Retribution!
Albites tattoos appear to come alive, slithering off his arm like ethereal magical ribbons. The tattoo ribbons wrap around an intended opponents body part and tie the two together for a duration of 15 seconds. Leaving neither able to escape the other until the magic is ended, or the weak ribbons are severed. (Ex. Albite's opponent has a weapon/magical attack, and uses it on said ribbons or Albite is interrupted in casting/cancels the magic early.)
Range: 3 Feet
Duration: 15 seconds
Number of uses: 3
Number of targets: 1

HP: 50
Action: backing up Feldspar, Rakovanite /// Attacking Pollux
Damage 9 + 3 (rank bonus) + 3 (faction bonus) + 5 (chaos bonus) = 20
Location: D6

Wanted to complain. Weissite wanted to harp on Feldspar that they’d be just as well off doing nothing as they would be if they stepped up to Rakovanite and whoever he was going after. The guy didn’t need their help, probably didn’t even want it. Worse because Feldpsar had looked at him with a cocky little quirk of his lip and admitted it was stupid. The red head was a lot of things his other friends weren’t, and Weissite hadn’t originally considered ‘stupid’ among them, but things changed.

He scoffed, flicked a lock of white over his shoulder, dusted a fleck of grime from a silvery pauldron, and grumbled, “You first, man.” Maybe said in hopes that someone who couldn’t walk straight wouldn’t make it that far.

Didn’t say much about Feldspar’s projectile power, though. Guy threw his cane (idiot), so while the younger boy took a sec to realize how dumb that was, Weissite dove in, past Rakovanite’s weapons and aimed a kick for the senshi’s abdomen.

Cadet Ny
HP: 45
Action: Just standing there, menacingly
Damage D10 + 3 (rank bonus) = N/A
Location: D6 -> D3

It had never mattered to her what happened to this world. Ny gazed down at the bodies, watching with an almost inquisitive head tilt as white bodices darkened, or as monstrous claws, fangs, scales sprouted where there had been none before. She couldn’t feel what they felt, but the insinuation was this was what Chaos did to people: turned them into monsters. Or maybe it just showed off what was inside them all along. Results inconclusive.

Either way, it wasn’t going to be her problem to contend with.

Whatever the humans felt, Ny had no reason to interfere with what had already been set in motion. Her only concern, the one single thing that she cared about amidst the mess, was that it would not be them. It wouldn’t be her or Fysarius getting their starseeds pulled, neither of their heads rolling across the grass, neither of their bodies being encased in crystal. As long as that wasn’t the case-

Meh.

Whatever happened, happened.

He grabbed her hand as they ran across the field, skirting the danger zone of the center machine and avoiding the angriest of the Negaverse’s slaves and White Moon assaults. She was perfectly fine to stand next to the Commodore, let her wide emerald gaze scrape over the battered, confused, upset faces of the other Vanguard who’d joined them. Why were they struggling so much with this “choice?” It hardly seemed like a question to her. Do what needed to be done, so they could get off this hunk of rock and go home. She didn’t think it needed to be complicated.

When Fysarius started getting feisty at one of the White Moon that tried to prevent them leaving, Ny stood at his back, not attacking (the effort would be better put to use continuing to make their way forward), but she wasn’t going to let anyone strike back at him.

Action: Dancing with Adonis - Attacking Beta - Getting hit by Hail!!
Damage: 10
Location: D6 --> D4
AutoBonus: (For My Memories Sake +1d10(Dice) +3(Faction) +3(Rank)

It had seemed an idea to follow Adonis in. To leave the shelter of the kill square. The confidence that rose in the air. The power that every new breath of condensed chaos inhaled, that felt like bolstering drug on his mind. The purest high - that gave him confidence beyond warrant and measure alike.

"Oh I'd love to." because it was true, their team in tandem had it all in the bag. Bodies and toes freshly tagged, ready to be cleaned up and put away by whichever of their own or the enemies other came to collect them.

So Diasporite smiled, gleeful in step as he stalked behind the Senshi who skinned his enemies alive. A flow of draped blues that stepped lively and alert at the back. Dia thought Adonis was funny - humorous word play that laid in with his attacks cast out.

Didn't have such witty retorts to lay into the target Adonis seemed to plucked from the masses - simply quickstepped in after and let out with a vicious spurred kick at Beta Leporis.

His high brought low by the sudden onslaught from above. The skies that opened up as if----

Torrent of pain in downfall - that pelted the field whole -- that ate the air with its vast spread of magic. Diasporite let a single shriek of sound as they were pummeled. He had regrets....

It didn’t matter if Lyndin disagreed with Gavaen. It didn’t matter if Lyndin had never seen them as pawns, never thought of them as dumb, or little, or fragile.

There were no pets on Velencya; it was considered inhumane to express control over any other living creature. Lyndin did not see them as pets, or beneath them, or trained.

Maybe, in a different setting, he would have said as much. Maybe, he would have had the opportunity to talk about this. Somewhere where he could communicate openly, freely, and not surrounded by two warring sides, each with their own agenda.

Instead, he stared in horror as Gavaen was slaughtered, too.

He roared.

A crystal grew around the fallen cadet, protecting him as it had the others, as the life left him.

The Cadets had taken out the fiend that attacked him, but the crystal growing around Gavaen sent out a pulse of energy at her. Push her back, push her away from the rest of them. Before she could do any more damage.

He heard Morgan’s words but it seemed weak to blame the Chaos alone when he had been told not so very long ago that even if the Chaos was removed, there was still a darkness in all of them that should be feared.

He had seen murder in the eyes of those unaffected by it. He was not so easily swayed.

A pale blue glow radiated from Gavaen’s starseed--a bubble, protecting it. It tugged out of Guinevere’s hands.

Lyndin could not take it for himself to protect; he left it with Fae-Fae and it felt warm in her hands.

The Center Console let out an erratic pulse, and it felt like something in the air was shifting. It crackled, and Lyndin grimaced.

Maybe, were it not for the absolutely hectic scene around them, Lyndin might have considered some of the pleas made by the Cadets, the Senshi, the Knights.

This was not the place for conversation. This was not the place to change plans.

He did not shake Oberon off of him like he wanted, still too careful with the starseed in his hands.

The attacks on him seemed the least of his concerns; again, a pulse of energy pushed back any who attacked him. It popped Cancer’s bubble shields around the Cadets, but it did not damage anyone in the Vanguard; they were still under her protection.

Hyperborea was pushed back, and he looked at her with something that might have been resentment. Or, maybe just a cold frustration.

He had drawn no weapon. He had not come for war.

He did not want anyone to die.

Caedus’s death was a necessity, and he would see him reborn--whole.

I would pay anything to set things right. You just can’t see what needs to be done first.

Even as Andronicus was pushed back again, he turned to her.

You don’t know that. You assume we will be forced into the same rebirth cycle as you.

And maybe they would be. But it was a chance, and he was desperate.

Maybe he had been a coward, a thousand years ago. Maybe he had been afraid to do all that was necessary. Maybe he wanted to shift some of the guilt off of himself.

But that was then, and this was now.

The only thing he was afraid of losing was any more of his people.

Cydfae was there. Neryn followed. Vyn, and Aliez, Cypher, and Eso and Itztenoch and Nessaela, and Fysarius and Ny. Their words and actions were noted.

Caelyna was there but distraught, and rightly so. She had more sympathy for Scylla than Lyndin did.

He could not tell what Andreiya thought, and only knew that he was holding Naeria--who was hurt, badly. He looked at Fangnyl disapprovingly, but did not scold him for attacking the machine.

He regretted that he could not say what Yddagen and Lysvi wanted to hear. He didn’t look happy about any of this. He seemed agitated and strained, and worn thin.

The Commodore looked pale as he looked between the two.

It isn’t safer in him. It isn’t safe anywhere.” The starseed lashed out again, as if to prove the point. “The faster we leave, the faster this ends. They cannot help us now.

It didn’t sound like a final statement. It sounded like there was something more to be said, something he was waiting for.

Castor’s magic was disorienting, and it struck the center console with such great force that it rattled.

Laurelite seemed unrattled by any of this--by Castor’s magic. By Lyndin’s anger. By the chaos on the field.

She saw Castor’s smile.

She returned it with her own, brightly.

It reached her eyes. She didn’t move. She didn’t have to.

Lyndin didn’t need to be told to return this starseed to the Cauldron, but he didn’t reject Castor’s assistance. Lyndin was not afraid to die to complete this task. He would sacrifice everything of himself if that’s what it took to secure Velencya’s future. Velenia’s future.

He would not sacrifice any more of his own, though. They were never meant to be sacrificed. Only Caedus, and it was for the greater good.

Maybe, if he’d had time to think about it, he would have reconsidered telling the cadets. Maybe he would have understood that he was not doing them as much of a favor as he thought. Maybe he would have realized that he was not sparing them by keeping things to himself.

The information could have been catastrophic in the wrong hands. He hadn’t been on Earth like Caedus; he hadn’t known what he was going into. Giving them information when he didn’t know who might try to take it from them?

He thought it was a kindness to keep thoughts of their world dying from them. He thought it was responsible not to give them access to so much information on their first mission.

He had trusted them. He had chosen them.

Could he regret not telling them then when so few trusted him now?

A lifetime of service, of sacrifice, and they questioned him. They challenged him. They accused him.

And yet, he was still proud of all of them.

They were passionate. They cared. They were willing to do what they thought was best and fight, even in difficult circumstances, with impossible choices.

Velencya would be okay, after he was gone.

Velenia would be okay.

If they could get out of here.

The glow in his eyes flared again as rage consumed him. He looked across the field and could see too many Cadets too far away to leave with him.

He wasn’t going to leave them behind. Even if their ideals didn’t align, even if they didn’t understand, he wasn’t going to abandon them here.

Enough!

He was out of breath. He was trembling. It was impossible to miss the physical strain that had taken his body, even if the cause was not immediately clear.

Of course this isn’t what I wanted!” he snapped to Pendour, but the venom didn’t seem directed at her. He seemed at the edge of his limit, and he knew they were all running out of time. “I can’t give him back.

Scylla and Encke offered safe haven. Pendour would share resources. Oberon offered the same, even if he had attacked.

You may care for him, maybe even as much as I do,” he said to them all, “But he had a chance to make a choice, and he made the wrong one. More than once. He would let Velencya fall, leave us stranded and alone, to spare his own life. So you call me a coward? Because I’m not afraid to die for my people? Because I’m willing to do all that is necessary to save them?

He scoffed, but Lyndin looked like he was crumbling. The glow in his eyes was burning stronger, even as the Console in the center of the field seemed to be flickering. The burst of energy in the sky wavered between thinning and bloating with power.

He had words for Scylla, and there was an anger in his expression that burned. “I don’t want revenge. There is no such thing as a ‘safe home’ right now.

To Cancer--an anomaly.

And what are you doing here? You haven’t fixed the Surrounding in centuries. You, like Caedus, are failing your people and abandoning your duties.

To her, to Scylla, to everyone:

Your Surrounding isn’t as durable as you think it is.” There was a darkness in his voice--and, for a second, Lyndin almost sounded scared. “And you have no idea what’s out there.

His words hung in the air for a few seconds, partly because he seemed to need a second to try and stabilize himself, and partly because if they heard anything, they needed to hear that.

Your worlds are barren but for plants. They rarely grow food and they have very little protection. They are not safe, no matter how many times you tell yourself that. You do not have the power to fulfill what you are promising. Until your worlds can sustain life, I cannot accept that offer.

Maybe it was the strain on his body. Maybe it was mistakenly heard.

He almost sounded like he was pleading with her.

The machine in the center of the field crackled and the Chaos seemed to saturate everything worse. A gust of wind and pure energy shot out from it, spreading across the field like a shockwave. It crackled again, and a loud, growing hum began to echo from deep within.

Lyndin’s eyes darted to it with alarm; he looked at the last two generators, at the Vanguard around him. At those that still weren’t with him.

Vanguard,” he commanded, “We need to leave, now.” Not as steadily as before, but with as much strength as he could muster, “Earth will be safe. We have more to do, but we have to go.

It was one more call for them, one more chance to join him, to get out of here. He turned to continue North--and the Console sent out another powerful eruption of energy. A visible shockwave of pale blue energy, nearly blinding, shook the ground. It passed through the others.

It hit him.

His mouth parted just slightly and his eyes widened; he made no noise, but it was clear that it had hurt him.

He went rigid and it looked like an electric current had seized him.

He cradled Caedus’ starseed between both hands, still trying to protect it--but in that moment, there was a gap.

There was a chance to take it from him.

Quote:
All Order characters who attacked Lyndin take 5 damage and are pushed to the border of D3. Cadets are not pushed back and take no damage from him.

Lyndin has moved from D3 to D2 but has been temporarily stunned by a burst of raw energy from the Central Console. Lyndin’s HP is now revealed and he can be attacked, but there isn’t much time. There is a chance that an Order character might be able to grab it; if any Order characters wish to try, roll 1d100. In doing so, they sacrifice doing any damage this round. If someone succeeds in grabbing this starseed, it is incredibly volatile and may do physical damage if they come into contact with it. Only Order characters can attempt this; Cadets will have an immediate understanding that whatever is hurting Lyndin can probably hurt them too--and much worse--so they should avoid making physical contact with him for as long as the electrical currents are dancing across his skin. The Negaverse has an immediate understanding that their goals are to protect the generators and continue trying to subdue Order; they can feel Laurelite’s will, and she does not want that Starseed. She doesn’t seem worried about anything happening on the field right now. Caedus is unconscious in D4, and the Central Console can still be attacked, but it seems like it is visibly failing.

The weapon continues to pulsate mutated, chaotic energy to every order member on the field but it seems like the damage to the center console is weakening it drastically. Players attacking it may choose to be shocked slightly as flavor text as they combat it.

The Chaos spreading across the field is akin to being within Metallia’s presence; members of the Negaverse will feel a second wind, and gain an additional +5 damage to any dice roll in this round for as long as any generator remains are on the field. Order members may feel suddenly without morals or restraint; they may become very violent. They will feel sick as the Chaos seeps into their starseed. If an Order player chooses, they may show some (temporary) signs of corruption or youmafication as their body distorts under the Chaos. These changes should only be cosmetic and should be minimal for the time being. Order characters may also be forcibly corrupted, however you must PM The Space Cauldron for side swap approval; if your character completely corrupts, this will be a permanent change for them. Fourth Stage Order characters and those in their immediate vicinity may be immune to these effects; Transcended characters may also be immune to these effects. These players may choose to be affected or not!

Members of the Vanguard are not affected by this; Vanguardians have no limitations to how many squares they can move per round!

If Lyndin isn’t stopped, he leaves with Caedus’ starseed. This is the last round to forcibly corrupt your character; the Center console is malfunctioning and the effects of Chaos are fading! Chaos characters should be protecting the Central Machine and generators and should focus on subduing Order characters, not trying to kill them! There’s still enough Chaos in the air to affect everyone, but it might feel like it is beginning to dissipate!

If you are playing a disposable NPC, you should be preparing to kill them in this post. Please update your NPC RP log as soon as possible. If you are unable to complete 500 words in three roleplays prior to this, and 500 words in this roleplay, your character will lose out on any potential long-term plots. .

A Spreadsheet has been made available for a more visual representation of character location. Please do not edit the grid sizes or change font. You can use this to post where your character is going. Players do not have to utilize this resource, but the spreadsheet will be updated with the most recent location posted for a character by a staff member at the time of the next mule post.

Large Generators have 400 HP B6: 169/400, D6: 134/400
Center Machine has -260/2650 HP
Lyndin has 417/3500 HP

You can track damage to Generators, the Center Machine, and Lyndin in this spreadsheet.

The next prompt will be posted in ~48 hours. Order Characters can join at any point in time but it must be handwaved that they have been here since before the Negaverse arrived. No one can arrive late ICly or leave as of this prompt; Queen Laurelite is in the Northeast corner blocking exit, General Queen Hessonite is in the Southeast corner, General King Axinite is in the Southwest corner, General King Lepidolite is in the Northwest corner, and. Engaging these characters is ill-advised; they are very powerful and seem to only be there to hold the line for the time being. They are indicated on the map with a starseed of accommodating color that also showcases their range.

There is no penalty for not responding to this prompt, however you will not be able to make up for missed rolls.

If you are doing an important action that you want to make sure others see, such as something that affects a whole square, or might have a major impact that affects how players respond, please include this in an empty quote box at the top of your post. Please bold it, put it in red font, and set the font to size 18 above your character form. When you are posting your character, you must use the following code at the top of your post if responding to this prompt:

Character name, rank, and a link to their journal (Vanguardian Cadets do not need to post a link)
HP: First stage characters, PC Youma, and Cat/Humanoid Mauvians have 50 HP, Second stage characters and Mauvian Senshi have 75 HP, Third stage characters have 100 HP and Fourth stage characters have 150 HP. If you were contacted via PM about a special Negaverse role, please use the HP and damage information from the PM. Once a character reaches 0 HP they pass out.
Action: Please summarize whatever action you are doing; if you are attacking a specific target, please indicate that here. You must be in the same square as someone/something to attack them and can only move two squares at a time per round (horizontal, vertical, diagonal, or a mix). Teleportation is not permitted.
Damage When calculating damage: roll the base dice, add rank bonus, add faction bonus, add accessory bonus.
Location: Include which grid square they are moving to. You can move to any square at this point in time, however column 1 and 7, and row A and G are being guarded by General Sovereigns securing the perimeter. It is unwise to engage, but not impossible.

Rolling for Damage:

Each character can roll to do damage once per prompt. If you miss a roll, you cannot make it up. If you have a special IC RP Item, like an Article of Resilience or an Article of Power, please factor these into damage done and taken and note this in your posts.

To roll for damage, all characters will roll one ten sided dice.

    RANK BONUSES:
Mauvians in their Cat Form: No Bonus
First Stage Characters, Vanguardian Cadets, Humanoid Mauvians: + 3 damage
Second Stage Characters, Mauvian Senshi, PC Youma: +5 damage
      Third Stage Characters: +7 damage
Fourth Stage Characters + 10 damage

    FACTION BONUSES:
Mauvians: +5 damage to a target when using laser; can only use laser once. Mauvian Senshi should use Super Senshi magic rules if casting their magic.
Negaverse Agents: Lieutenants +3 damage, Captains +4 damage, Generals +5 damage, General Sovereigns +6 damage
Half-Youma: Lieutenants +3 damage, Captains +4 damage, Generals +5 damage
Half-Youma Magic: Lieutenants can use magic bonuses once, Captains twice, and Generals three times; offensive magic, buffs, and debuffs give +5 damage to a roll for themselves or an ally in the same square, healing magic heals 10 HP from one target in the same square, and shield magic deflects five damage from two targets in the same square. This bonus does not stack on top of standard non-magic bonuses. Do not roll dice if healing or shielding; these effects are automatic and you cannot attack in the same round as you are healing or shielding. Captains and above can use their half-youma magic multiple times in the same post but it must be on different targets. Some Half-Youma have two magical abilities; the number of uses is split between the two.
      Youma: +4 damage
Youma Magic: Youma can use magic bonuses three times; offensive magic, buffs, and debuffs give +5 damage to a roll for themselves or an ally in the same square, healing magic heals 10 HP from one target in the same square, and shield magic deflects five damage from two targets in the same square. This bonus does not stack on top of standard non-magic bonuses. Do not roll dice if healing or shielding; these effects are automatic and you cannot attack in the same round as you are healing or shielding. Youma can use their magic multiple times in the same post but it must be on different targets. Some Youma have two magical abilities; the number of uses is split between the two.
Knights: Pages +1 damage, Squires +2 damage, Knights +3 damage, Royal Knights +4 damage
Knight Magic: Squires can use magic bonuses twice, Knights three times, and Royal Knights five times; offensive magic, buffs, and debuffs give +5 damage to a roll for themselves or an ally in the same square, healing magic heals 5 HP from one target in the same square, and shield magic deflects five damage from one target in the same square. This bonus does not stack on top of standard Knight bonuses. Do not roll dice if healing or shielding; these effects are automatic and you cannot attack in the same round as you are healing or shielding. However, you can heal or shield multiple times (or for multiple targets) per round until your magic is exhausted. Healing or shielding two targets at once is considered two uses of magic, even if used at the same time.
Senshi Magic: Basic Magic has three uses, Super Magic has two uses, Eternal Magic has one use, Royal Magic has one use.
Healing Magic: +5 HP to one target when using basic magic, +10 HP to one target when using super magic, +15 HP to one target when using eternal magic, +15HP to everyone in the same square, and all adjacent squares, when using Royal magic. Do not roll the dice if using healing magic; you cannot attack and heal in the same round. However, you can use healing magic multiple times per round until your magic is exhausted. This can be done in the same post or different posts. Healing magic can revive an unconscious target; healing magic cannot heal someone beyond max rank health.
Shield Magic: - 5 damage to one target in the same square when using basic magic, - 5 damage to two allies in the same square when using super magic, - 10 damage to three allies in the same square when using eternal magic, - 15 damage to everyone in the same square, and all adjacent squares, when using Royal magic. Do not roll the dice if using shielding magic; you cannot attack and shield in the same round. However, you can shield multiple times per round until your magic is exhausted. This can be done in the same post or different posts. Shield magic can negate previous damage from this round OR prevent future damage done during this round.
Damage/Buff/Debuff Magic: +2 damage to one target in the same square when using basic magic, +3 damage to one target in the same square when using super magic, +4 damage to one target in the same square when using eternal magic, and 10 additional damage to all targets in the same square, and all adjacent squares, when using Royal magic.

A Spreadsheet with this same information has been organized to help calculate damage; if you have any questions, please reach out to The Space Cauldron or ask in the event-planning Discord channel and we can help!

The Negaverse has been instructed not to summon youma; they need to maintain organization and youma would clutter the battlefield and the strange energy waves in the area have distorted youma control and Negaverse teleportation. Only PC youma capable of handling complex instructions may be used in this battle. They have been told not to bring starseeds or energy orbs due to the unpredictable nature of the energy in the area.

If you are interacting with any NPCs or examining the environment, please quote The Space Cauldron!

Please do not reserve posts in this thread to backfill later! We are doing our best to be transparent about post and run time so players can plan ahead. If you reserve a post, you must fill it out as soon as possible. We understand accidents may happen or things may pop up, but we are asking players to be considerate of each other and only post when they are able to write something along with it! Posts can be as short as one sentence if need be but should clearly detail what your character is doing or saying.

Corrupt Eternal Super Sailor Kamacite
HP: 164
Action: Attacking Alphubel
Damage 10 (roll) + 7 (rank) + 4 (eternal magic 1/1) + 10 (special mission) + 5 (special) = 36
Location: B6

Kamacite continued to cough as his throat tried to remember what it felt like to not be crushed. They were going to get overrun, he knew it. The other generators had exploded across the field and it was down to the last two.

Dark eyes watched as Faustite spoke with the Eternal Senshi (Lysithea) that could not withstand the Chaos around her. His stomach churned uncomfortably as he watched her white wings stain black and feathers fall off. She was now a Senshi of the Negaverse, just like him. An Eternal, just like him.

An uncomfortable queasiness settled in his stomach, his breathing labored, although he tried telling himself it was because he was still coughing and trying to ease his bruised neck. He was just tired. He just needed to breathe. If he could remember how to breathe. One hand remained there, as if that would help. The other went to clutch at his chest.

But he wasn’t going to just back down. He still had more fight in him. A Knight (Alphubel) was attacking the generator and that was all Kamacite needed to set his target.

He slowly brought up his hand, glancing behind him to where Axinite stood, a silent warning, and then to Faustite as well. If anyone else didn’t know to close their eyes, he couldn’t exactly warn them at the moment. He didn’t want them to suffer, although maybe the flash would make it more difficult to see the moisture in his eyes.

Shock breakout.

Quote:
Eternal Sailor Attack: Shock Breakout
There is a brilliant flash of light causing temporary but immediate disorientation and blindness that fades into horribly spotty vision; can last upwards of forty-five seconds. In addition to the previous issues with electrical and battery charged devices, the heat of the flash causes the sensation of moderate to severe burns, as well as the sensation of clothing and armor being heated to uncomfortable levels. There is also biochemical damage caused by the electromagnetic surge in the form of nausea, dizziness, headaches, and/or a decreased level of consciousness depending on the opponent. The potential for actual sunburns or lasting physical or biochemical damage is up to player discretion and, if desired, may require extended time to heal. Has an effect radius of 12 feet (although the flash can be seen as one would see any flash), and can be used once, twice as a last resort.

General Jet
HP: 100 - 19 (Kerberos) = 81
Action: Attacking Kerberos
Damage 7 (rank) + 5 (faction) + 5 (chaos) +1 Article of Strength + 8 (roll) = 26
Location: F2

Jet let out a breath of relief when Niter knocked out the troublesome Negaverse Senshi. “Thanks,” he said, grateful for the assist. He was also glad that Niter was keeping out of danger -- it was all he could really hope for when he and Aquamarine had a total of three new recruits there. Thankfully, Albite was around… being terrifying. Somewhere. But at least it kept him distracted from trying to converse with them.

He caught the gaze of another Eternal Senshi (Kerberos), one who had been with Ganymede before. His eyes narrowed on him in return. Then suddenly, flowers sprung forth around him, and a sickening feeling filled him. He felt as though he was crippled by it, by the rage and grief he felt. He felt it more times in his life than he cared for. He’d already helped Ashanite to steady himself, but didn’t know where he went as the hopelessness washed over him.

And the bloodied form of a very familiar person coloring the flower field from his wounds. “NO!” he yelled, his eyes wide in horror at how the light had faded from lavender eyes. Teeth gritted as he tried to understand what happened -- when did Aquamarine get slain? Had he not been next to him--?

No… this had to be magic. Even as it shook him and pulled at his emotions, there was no way this could be real.

“Cute,” he said and lifted his eyes to meet Kerberos, waiting for the illusion to fade around him. Out of the corner of his eye he could see Aquamarine, unscathed.

“I’ll take that as a threat. We clearly need to get rid of you, next,” he growled and summoned his weapon back to his hand so he could lunge forward with a strike. He was vaguely aware of the Knight (Tanais) that Ashanite was facing, but she didn’t look familiar to him at that very moment. He was a little busy taking care of a winged pest.

Captain Bloodstone
HP: 35
Action: Attacking Sumner
Damage 5 (roll) + 5 (rank) + 4 (faction) + 5 (special) = 19
Location: D6

“Rose,” Bloodstone said as he stood beside him for a moment, surprised when he needed those few seconds to catch his breath. Had he really been pushing himself so hard that he forgot to breathe? It didn’t matter. There were still generators and they needed to protect them.

“Stay sharp. This is almost over.”

He nodded to Roselite and followed him into the other area where the generator was.

Bloodstone was very pleased by both Carnallite and Roselite’s actions. He couldn’t tell if Roselite had managed to knock out the old woman that was with the Page Carnallite knocked out, but that didn’t matter.

His eyes were set on the senshi from before -- the one who made that horrible smell (Myrrha). But it looked like another agent was able to get to her before he did. Good.

A Squire was being attacked by General Sylvite, and it looked like another had attacked him too. Just a little more and he would likely be knocked out. Or he would be smart and run.

He rushed forward, but didn’t bother to swing his pick at him. Instead he kicked him as hard as he could away from the generator.
