Lin shook her head when they were back and immediately wanted to dispel her professor of any thought he might have that she couldn't handle all of this.

"Oh sir, I am more than ready to do this! Do not worry about that. I think... I must have just been dizzy from turning around so fast earlier. But I am more than ready to administer these pot.... these items."

She didn't even want to mention the word potion now that they were in public.

But before she could ask her professor where to find the other people she was supposed to give these potions to, she heard an announcement come over the intercom. A very unbelievable, horrible announcement....

Her eyes widened and she looked at her professor. "Oh no... Ambrose... Ambrose was her brother."

He smiled encouragingly. "That's the spirit!" And that's when the announcement was aired. Perfect timing. The smile evaporated. "Are you going to go? You can't exactly take those 'gifts' and go to the funeral at the same time, although I imagine a few of those who need it will be there."

Alec had been sitting in his seat when the announcement came over the intercom. Alec's face quickly melted from the mock concern he had put on for Athena's sake, to that of pure horror. Alec hadn't the foggiest idea that something this tragic had happened while he and the others had been dealing with Krauser. Alec's mind began to wonder about what had happened, what had caused Danni's untimely death. He had seen her in his classroom on the first day of classes, not 24 hours ago. She had seemed a little depressed, but certainly not in any kind of danger.

But all these thoughts were quickly replaced by a much larger one. Ialo. Alec hadn't had much time to really get to know his new boss, but Ialo didn't seem like the type to take this news well. Alec watched as Athena stormed out of his classroom, fangs bared and a murderous glint in her eye, most likely going to see Cook at the shack. Alec would have stopped her, but he knew the old Irishman would be able to handle her well enough for the time being. For now, Alec stood up from his chair and walked over to Nathan, who was looking quite grave as well. Alec put a hand on his shoulder and said, "Let's go take care of your son," as he led him towards the door, and eventually the shack out in the grounds.

Nathan was as shocked and horrified as Alec. A student had died? How? How could such a thing happen while his son was gone? And Athena - she looked ready to kill, but now was no time to admire that sort of spunk.

"Ialo... He's going to go off the deep end, I know it. He's just like my wife..." Nathan haltingly followed Alec. "This school must be - Mr. Leaton? Why is there a young woman with pointed ears gliding towards us?"

Lin had dashed quickly off to Professor Leaton's office when Professor Akakios had told her that she could find 2 of the potions' recipients at. He told her that she had to hurry in order to catch them before the funeral. Well, no one could be as fast as an elf.

She found herself just a few feet from Professor Leaton's office mere seconds later. She waved to the 2 individuals she saw coming out of the office. She had just made it! She recognized Professor Leaton, and the man beside him must be Nathan.

"Excuse me, Professor! Excuse me! I have something for you and someone named Nathan Enlil!"

She came to a very graceful stop right in front of the two men. She wasn't out of breath or anything. Not a strand of hair was out of place.

When Alec heard Nathan's outburst, all he could manage to get out was a, "What are you.. Oh! Lin! What are you doing here?" when Lin suddenly showed up before the two men. Alec was slightly curious about what Lin had, but his thoughts were still on the graver matter at hand. Alec wasn't rude, but he let his concern for the time be shown in his voice. "Well whatever it is please make it quick, Mr. Enlil and I need to see the Headmaster right away."

An elf? Nathan thought to himself as he watch Lin with curiosity. Not in the rude, gawking way that most people have when seeing a magical creature the first time, but the quiet gaze of being genuinely interested in who someone was. "What do you have for us that's so important?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 31, 2010 5:57 pm

Lin nodded quickly and held out one of her hands. She had made sure to take 2 of the potions out of her thigh holster before she left for the classroom.

"Of course, sir. I need to hurry as well in order to find Professor Wolfe and someone named Kai. I have no idea where they are and it will take me awhile to find them."

She noticed the man, who she assumed was Nathan Enlil, looking at her with curiosity. She recognized that look. She had seen it many times while being here at this school. If she had time, she would love to answer this man's questions and educate him about elves, but none of them had the time right now.

She put the potions in one of Professor Leaton's hand. "When you take this potion, it will give you a much-needed boost of power, both of you."

That is all she said about the potion.

Alec was taken back a little bit when Lin said what the potion was for. He wasn't sure how she knew, but Alec was feeling kind of drained after the whole Enlil Corp. incident. Not completely drained obviously, otherwise Alec wouldn't be able to really stand up, but enough that the power boost would be welcomed. Alec took the vial from Lin's finely manicured hand and nodded his thanks. "Thank you Lin, truly. Now we really must go. I'd help you find Luna and Kai, but this is really an emergency. Good luck finding them."

Alec waited for Nathan to finish saying his thanks to Lin before he started to head off towards the shack with Nathan. Alec popped the top off of the vial and smelled the aroma wafting out of the glass tube. It was a pleasant fruity smell, one that Alec couldn't rightly place at the moment. Alec downed the potion, and instantly he felt better. His arms and legs felt lighter, he seemed to stand a little straighter, and he felt less tired in general. Alec was amazed, he hadn't ever drank a potion that worked THAT quickly before. It must have been something rather special.

But Alec still didn't have time to mull over those thought, since he and Nathan were about to head outside. Alec looked over at Nathan and asked, "Shall I talk to him or should you?"

After telling Lin who she had to give the rest of the doses too, Ophiuchus made haste to Cook's shack. Kai was there, but maybe he would leave if the healer could explain to him why it was imperative that Lin not find out what sort of condition Ialo was in. Dark magic made her ill, and right now the Headmaster was coping with a dark addition to his soul. Maybe she could handle it, but Ophiuchus didn't want to risk a student as bright and talented as her leaving MFHS because she thought the Headmaster was a highly unsavory sort. He really liked having her around...

The healer teleported right into Danni's bedroom, where Cook had laid Ialo - sans garlic up his nose, Ophiuchus noted. "Hello, Kai - Long story short I have restorative potions for Ialo and Riser, and Lin is delivering the rest. She's going to come looking for you, and I'd rather you weren't right here. I can't imagine her reaction to seeing what a mess our dearest Headmaster is right now. Or, for that matter, Riser period."

"T-thank you very much, miss," Nathan said politely to Lin. Her voice was beautiful, he thought. He followed Alec out to the shack, and watched him down the potion. Nathan had no doubt it was something good and when Alec looked visibly more energetic, he undid the cap on his own vial and drank the potion. It was like the best coffee in the world. Nathan didn't feel drowsy or still in pain at all anymore.

"I'll talk to him first. He won't try to attack me."

Alec nodded at Nathan's statement. "Good point." Alec opened up the door to the shack and walked in, looking around for any signs of where the headmaster might be. Given the size of the shack, and the fact that no one was downstairs, Alec assumed they were upstairs. His suspicions were confirmed when he heard talking behind one of the upstairs doors. Alec opened the door to see Ialo laying on the bed in the tiny bedroom, along with Ophi and Kai all in the same space. Alec decided to not crowd anyone further and stood in the small hallway, giving Nathan enough room to maneuver around him and go to his son.

Riser had been leaning in a shadowy corner of Danni's room, his face mostly obscured; he had been laughing almost unnervingly to himself ever since Ophiuchus had finished speaking.
"Oh what's wrong 'professor'? Don't tell me you're frightened of how your little elven protege will react to my presence are you?" He pulled the hood up on the jacket he had stolen from a student's room, obscuring his face further as he stepped out from the shadows. "Of course you are. And to think I was beginning to respect your role in the universe Serpent, you're as turn-tail as ever."
In his typical way, the Fallen casually snatched the potion and downed it. His personality was back to normal it seemed, but his body was still aching and snapping and breaking and creaking before he grabbed the vial. For a moment, all looking in his direction saw his eyes flash that vicious deep purple in the dark of his stolen hood. And then, as if he had done it one thousand times prior, Riser's right hand quickly moved to his right eye and withdrew as a small portion of his mask materialized.
"You never change," he began to say. "but I give credit where credit is due, that was one powerful concoction. So, what do you plan to do with this girl Akakios, train her in your ways? What then, have her strike the same deal you made and let her wander and cower endlessly?" His mouth, still vaguely visible, shot into a crooked grin. "Hmm, or is she merely a carnal pleasure for an old snake? She is rather exotic, isn't she?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 31, 2010 7:09 pm

Ophiuchus whirled around, motioning for someone else to give Ialo his dose. "Riser, as usual, you start off right, and end up horribly wrong."

"I think everyone here, including Nathan, can tell right off the bat that you use dark magic. You reek of it. You reek of darkness, period. Dark magic and Lin is a bad, bad combination. And how the HELL do you come up with your crazy theories like that? Lin is a student, she wants to learn. I know what she wants to know, and I'm more than happy to teach her how I do my job. Her life is her decision and she will never be anything more to me, got that?!"

"Of course I reek of darkness, you speak as if I didn't know this. You, however, reek of something else entirely. Do you know what it is?" He bent down, his eyes connecting with the healer's mere inches away. "It's guilt. Just now you said her life was her decision, what if she were to choose to be with you, hmmm let's put it this way, intimately. She wants to learn, and you know you want to teach her." That smile of his was horrifying; even in his diminished state, that grin held so many haunting truths. "As for your initial outburst, right and wrong are entirely relative to one's personal views old friend. What you consider wrong, I believe to be right right right."
