"Oh, great...." Danny should've just stayed home and had some eggnog.

In her hands, Vana was starting to chirp distressedly, squirming about unhappily. She didn't seem frightened, but the little girl was suddenly very focused on something, and that something was out of reach for her right now. She wanted down- not just wanted, but needed!

However, Danny was unwilling to let the babe down in a dark room full of people moving blindly about- wisely though, she thought. "Shhh, babe, it's all right," she reassured the girl, handling her delicately to try and pat her back. Vana was not an easy baby to carry around on the best of days, and while she was squirming and Danny could just barely see by the dimness of the lighter, this was especially hard. Terrified that she might accidently break one of the thin, tender branches on the girl's tail, Danny did what she could to manuver out of the way of everyone- convienently, this was in the direction Vana seemed to want to go- before arriving at the counter full of potted plants. Whatever the girl wanted, it seemed to be there....

"Okay, Green, fine." Setting her down on the counter, Danny kept one hand on her while the babe settled herself down, peering through the darkness to make sure there would be no complications. The little forest girl began whistling a worried birdsong as she sat guard over the bits of greenery there. It was half her job, after all, wasn't it?

EDIT: Barely had Danny begun to relax, though, no doubt waiting for the time that everyone would filter out of the room so that she could scoop up Vana and follow safely, then did the very floor start rattling around. Now she was inclined to panic, and expressed these less pleasant sentiments with a shrill yelp, grabbing the edge of the counter for stability while the shakes passed.

Something to the contrary, Vana seemed unalarmed by the world shaking- reaching out gently, she took hold of one of the plant's leaves and patted it, chirping optimistically to it.

What in god's name was going on in her home? THAT had never happened in the whole year she'd lived there. Now the sidhe was becoming a little bit apprehensive and began clicking the light switch frantically in hopes that the light would come on.

She was good under pressure, she was. But when it was dark and the room was moving, Coailiann was just a little kid.

Come on, come on, come on. Wooooork. Please! I'll give you a cooookie! she didn't know what she was talking to, but she figured a cookie could probably help.

It didn't.

Blindly the girl started making her way toward the counter, ducking behind it and hoping to find her wand or perhaps some kind of candles...Not that her wand would be able to help anything. She couldn't light it like her big sister could.

Oh!

Scrambling off and forgetting the fact that there were actually candles behind the desk, she went to the little door in the desk and slid herself in. Normally, it would take her to her sister's realm.

Nothing happened. "DamnĂș air!"

At least she was safe in the little cupboard. The door was pulled closed firmly behind her.

And sealed, just like all the other doors.

Dark? Fine. Akoriats were nightvisioned, and Wiko didn't mind much himself. But tremors? Wiko did not want. Oh no he didn't. After a moment of stillness Wiko's eyes blinked wide open, revealing a ... frightening effect. The brilliant yellow surrounding his pinpoint pupils was visible in the dark, much like a cat's eyes, and staring very directly at Nicolai.

You had better be glad I don't drop you one of these days.

Whatever was going on, Nicolai was on edge. Wiko had begun to whimper, making an odd noise somewhat akin to a low yowling kitten. Nicolai pulled the little one closer to him protectively, eyes darting about in the darkness at the several heads in the room. Nothing had changed, but he was definitely wary to look for that.

The blonde blinked. Something was glowing nearby. A pair of eyes? Maybe. And there were noises coming from over there too. Well that was to be expected. There were noises all around the room from the children. But this one was kind of odd. She'd heard noises like this when she'd visited other Tison realms. What the heck was over there? A young sheyeha?

Moving somewhat awkwardly with her lighter to guide her, Rouge found her way over to the glowing eyed Wiko and his guardian. "You two all right?" she asked softly, taking in the Akoriat's stance and the way he held his ward.

Nicolai blinked at Rouge, eyes darting about still. That gkk had intensified, reaching a dizzying height among the glow of his child's eyes and the panic in the headquarters. He shook his head in response, not making eye contact any longer.

"I'm fine," he responded tersely. "I'm sure Wiko's just a bit scared."

His mind began to twist a little. Wiko... are you doing this? It only started when we came out...

Nicolai had absolutely zero grasp of what Wiko was capable of. Maybe he was responsible. Maybe he was a little stronger than he could have known. Whatever the case, he stayed put. No use making the thing move. Who knows what that might set off.

As Taylor kneeled to help her, Nataki hunched her shoulders, sputtering apologies and trying to gather the books as best she could. The question about what books she was reading, however, made her flush with pleasure, straightening. "Oh! Well, I've been going with something light for the past few days--Orwell's works are simply marvelous for that sort of--" The room pitched violently, and she fell right on her face again, eyes wide behind thick spectacles. "Whu-what was that? An earthquake?"

Nataki gave a start at the sight of the other woman and child, looking completely at a loss when they too, began to help her. "How kind," She barely breathed, clutching at her chest for a moment--and gave a start when she realized the dark-haired woman had...shackles? With a nervous sort of squeak, she inched towards Taylor, thankfully missing the book that seemed to have levitated all by itself. "Y-Yes, thank you...but why are the lights off? Is this some sort of p-party?" She'd never been to parties before, so she honestly wouldn't know. Swallowing hard, Nataki did her best to stumble to her feet, squinting in the dark.

Was that a little girl's voice...?

"What's going on?" The bookish woman squeaked nervously, having only a few books in her arms now, but pressing them close to her chest.

Put in the gardens Kishi had retreated to the fountain to eat and look her her gifts from her favorite non guardian. The earrings were very pretty and though feminine she still thought she'd wear them at some point becuase they'd remind her of rouge.

Balancing the tray on her knees she was just starting to dig into some meaty nachos with a heap of salsa when she felt the ground beneath her shift, it wasn't much but it caused the water in the fountain to ripple and it made her nervous.

Malen After having left his veggie tray in the main lobby had darted into the bathroom for a quick shower and shave. If they were going to have this much company he'd rather look decent. The steam from the shower prevented him noticing much of anything until the lights went out, Still sudsy he was finishing up when the room shook and various soaps and bottle clattered to the floor. " Great no power and earthquakes I hope this dosen't last to long."

As soon as Shira had finally turned the knob and opened the door to find out what was going on behind the mysterious shop, she had taken a few steps to marvel at what was hidden for about half of a second before she was shrouded in darkness; the only light coming from the door that was still ajar. She had jumped slightly as a response to the coincident blackout, then nearly cried out when the door behind her shut suddently. Her anxiety heightened as she stood still in the darkness. “Maybe it was a bad idea to come in here after all,” She squeaked, saying this to herself as more of a question rather than a statement.

Rouge smiled and nodded. "All right. Adorable kid by the way." she said, glancing with a smile at Wiko. He looked like a sheyeha all right. She'd look into seeing if there was an equivalent of the beasts in this realm. There seemed to be a lot of equivalent creatures in the two realms. There were creatures called 'fairies' that looked like Nurikans. And that guy Kyocho looked part Faekynan. Yeah she'd have to do more research. But later. She had to find the exit and get home. Not that she was quite sure she wanted to leave just yet. There was something amiss and admit it or not, the woman was worried.

The light on her lighter was starting to die as well so she'd better hope she brought another light source with her. Or another lighter. Reaching into her pocket with her spare hand she found one thing that would help her. A small crystal object. Closing her eyes and squeezing the crystal caused it to start glowing. It was a weak glow, but it was light that wouldn't flicker or die. Just so long as Rouge didn't panic.

The small light illuminated a little bit more of the room to her. But it wasn't enough to make up for the loss of the power. A flashlight would have done more good but finding them a bit too much of a problem to lug around, Rouge never kept one.

A...dorable?

Nicolai glanced down, catching the glowing eyes staring expectantly back at him. Maybe... he was cute. Past all that creep factor and mentally seeing him as a Central or a Drow? Maybe.

He watched Rouge fumble with her lighter and then with her own lighting instrument. Pointless, he thought, almost wanting to do so aloud. I don't think things are going to permit that sort of workaround for much longer.

The lights were off and the room had shaken. They were in a pocket realm. There were little gkk signals flying about all over his brain. Obviously, something wasn't right. Obviously. Nicolai would have nailed his eyelids to a sheet of flypaper if he had missed it. It was as bright as Wiko's eyes.

Wiko's insane, bright, pinpoint pupil eyes.

The light of the crystal might have been dim, but what it revealed was curious, to say in the least.

Certain objects in the room were... dull. Not boring-dull, but their colors. Like a shirt put too many times through the laundry, some things in the room were beginning to seem faded, slipping away into the colorings of an old Western. This seemed to pertain only to inanimate objects, at least for the moment; it also seemed to be centered on one side of the room in particular, the corner in which the television and chairs were all gathered.

Aurrek headed towards the headquarters as quickly as he could, as it was the only place outside of his own dwelling where he knew he could find an open sofa. Kelreid had been out of his care for a full five minutes, and the god swore he could still hear the boy shrieking in his mind. With any luck, though, he could hang around that strange headquarters full of stranger children and relax a bit, knowing that they were not his. The couch was the most important part, though.

He came into the place with Nordri tucked under one arm like a textbook, while the crab intently grabbed at the hourglass god's fingers with his claws. Aurrek did not seem to mind in the least; he could not even really feel it.

Darkness met his eyes as he came in, and, as he drew breath, he could feel that the air had that warm sensation like the air in a room full of people. Not to mention he could hear all manner of commotion and confusion.

The god was thankful that he at least had infravision in one eye; he made his way carefully into the room, carting the crab with him, but he could only see the things like people that gave off heat.

"... What happened in here?" he asked to no one in particular after a moment.

Nataki had flinched from the dim light of the crystal, and even more so from the voice of the newcomer. Swallowing a muffled squeak, the mousy woman hid her face for a moment, and peeped over her book at the man. ...What did he have under his arm?! Quite certain that she was going to faint, Nataki stumbled back for a moment--and promptly gaped at the sight of a nearby chair that had caught her eye.

"Why...Why...Why is the color fading?" She squeaked fearfully, her eyes as round as saucers, the books all but slammed up against her body. That wasn't right! That wasn't right at all! Terrified, Nataki shrank behind her two 'companions'. What on Earth was going on?! And that man--what was he holding? She risked another peek and promptly clamped her eyes shut, nearly dropping all her books again. It was okay, it was all right! Deep breaths, just don't look at it...

Why couldn't the lights come back on already? And the color, too!

The lack of lighting and combined hysteria of Shira could hear going on around her frightened her a bit, but only a bit. She moved around with cautious steps, noticing that there was but a little light a ways away to her left. She had blinked and began to move towards the person with the light, hoping to question them about her whereabouts and the current situation until the ground beneath her feet shook.

She let out a small yip as she almost lost her balance in surprise. What was going on with this place? Ever since she got here she'd been seeing strange relics, strange books, strange children...and now from what she was actually able to differentiate from the darkness, whoever decorated in here was colorblind, for the things around her were odd sets of gray with the random colors around the room. Things were just completly out of wack and suspicious here! She started to regret being nosy. She figured just leave, go back the way she came. That was the safest thing to do.

Being unable to fully see what was around her, Shira turned and took a step to the left, bumping into someone for the third time that day. She sighed exasperately and looked up to apologize to yet another person. She froze as she saw one glowing eye. ".....uh....um..."

Rouge strangely was much calmer now. Weird things happening now this was something she was used to. She had always gotten a bit of a thrill out of oddity. And this was definately oddity. Raising her crystal, the light it was producing increased a bit as her calmness did.

"I trust no one knows what is going on, but I do have a feeling it'd be smart not to panic right now. So I would hope that you all calm down for the moment as we try to piece together exactly what is happening. There are children present and adults panicing can't be helping them any, now can it?" her tone was blank of emotion but semi-authorative.

As she finished speaking the blonde crossed the room. The colors got more dull as she neared a particular corner of the room. She wasn't sure exactly what was over there but there had to be something...something they couldn't see possibly.
