You choose to cross over the fallen tree. It's a smart decision, if a bit risky, as you make it across safely. You exhale sharply in relief, heading up the path with little hesitation. You can hear something... almost like the crying of a small child. You're nearing the child! This has to be it! As you begin approach the sound with gusto in your steps you suddenly bump into something, jerking backwards in alarm.
A Berserker stares down at you.
This one looks almost feral as they glower at you, nails digging into the dirt as their teeth pull back. Their mouth opens with a wicked grin as they tower over you, eyes sharp and narrowed.
"Give me something, or I'll eat you right where you stand."

RP Response: It was almost funny - Mea normally had her bag of collectibles with her, but, not wanting to lose them during the party, she had left it somewhere safe. It figured that se would need it now.
Unfortunately, with nothing to show, the wolf smiled sheepishly, “I don’t have anything, sorry! The last thing I had, I gave to an old seer wolf.” She tilted her head thoughtfully, “I doubt I’d taste very good though. Maybe I can help you find a better meal? I think there were some deer in a clearing a ways back.” It was a guess, but she was hopeful that maybe he’d bite. Did You Equip An Item?: No
RP Response: Despite being smaller, River Hawk didn't cower from the beast in front of her. The threat did nothing more than irritate her, honestly. Had it not been for the bone in her teeth, her assailant would have gotten much more than a glare and growl.
On the other paw, she had to remember her pride was not the reason she was here. The crying she'd heard echoed in her head and with a huff, she offered up the bone she had. It seemed a much better option than causing a ruckus with a brawl. Did You Equip An Item?: Leg Bone

RP Response: She carefully made her way across the fallen tree, her legs were shaking so bad, she almost lost her footing. She leapt the last few feet from the tree to the bank, landing hard on her haunches, but grateful to be across. She dug her claws into the earth, subconsciously holding on to the ground. She took a moment to relax and catch her breath, let her heart stop racing. She looked back behind her and down at the rushing water below. That could have ended so badly. She shook herself from her head to her tail, and felt a bit of the tension leave her as she did. She had to get her head back into the pursuit of the pup. She bent her head down and picked up the scarf that had fallen off when she'd shaken, and held it in her teeth. She looked ahead, noticing a path leading off into the trees. Eager to get back on the trail, she took off at a slow run, sniffing the air as she went, hoping to catch the scent of the pup. As she rounded a tree, she bumped into something hard, and furry. Was it the pu-? She let out a surprised yelp, and stumbled backwards, now realizing it was way too large to be the pup. It was a beserker!
The beserker threatened to eat her if she didn't give him something. The only thing she had to give was the scarf. She didn't want to part with it, as it was the only thing that she had possibly belonging to the pup, but she also couldn't help the pup if she was eaten. She tossed the scarf at the beserker. "This is all I have." She wasn't sticking around to see if it was acceptable. She rushed past him and continued her search.

RP Response: After that first breath taking moment, Kindle felt more confident in her choice to cross along the fallen tree. She moved along as swiftly as she dared, jumping the last bit to the other side, tail wagging and tongue lolled out as she panted. Right. She needed to find this pup fast!
Moving quickly, she followed a sound. Was that crying? Was that Shattered Oracle?! Picking up her pace and getting ready to do a full blow run, Kindle felt her shoulder collide with something. She jumped back with a yip of surprise.
By the Stars, that wolf was big. The fiery wolf stared at the berserker in awe... until they looked not so friendly.
"I-I am so terribly sorry! I didn't see you there... which is silly, I know. But I was in such a hurry to find this lost pup. And the Seer had said he would be this way - though she didn't mention running in to anyone else. Maybe that was what she meant by not having all the information to provide?" She paused for half a second. "Oh, food! I don't have any. I can hunt for you? And find you something? But I must help this puppy first! Please let me pass and help him and I will find you food I promise."

The Berserker frowns as they look down at you, for a moment considering your offer/plea. Finally, the Berserker accepts and steps aside, walking past you as if nothing had just happened. You shudder at the close call, snapping your attention back to the sound of crying.
The child; that has to be them!
You hurry ahead, racing after the sound. You skid to a stop, heart skipping as the impossible seems to unfold before you. They're... standing on a floating island? The ground around them has simply broken from the ground you're on... wait -- how is this possible? It's... almost as if this is a dream? You can't believe what you're seeing as you examine the gap between you and the red pup. It's far, and the abyss below seems equally as impossible as the floating island itself.
Because it is. It should be, and yet here you are. Your throat runs dry as the pup turns to look at you, mismatched eyes widening.
"Help!" He cries out, jerking around to face you. The island around him begins to crumble, hurting your brain even more. You need to act fast! What do you do?
A. Call for him to jump! B. Look around for something to throw! C. Try walking towards him!

RP Response: Her eyes widened at the sight before her, but there was barely any time to wonder at what was happening. The island was crumbling apart fast, and whatever they were going to do, they had to do it now.
Mea stumbled forward and yipped back at him, “JUMP! I’ll catch you!” She was banking on him being capable of making the leap, but she didn’t want to risk wasting any precious time either. The longer it took to find him a route over here, the more the island would crumble away. Her gut instinct was telling her that he needed to make a jump for it, and hopefully he would be close enough for her to catch him partway. Did You Equip An Item?: No
RP Response: River Hawk's frightened gaze mirrored the pup's as he turned toward her. Her head jerked this way and that while she tried to make sense of the madness in front of her. She had to help him, she knew but how?
With how fast the small island he perched atop crumbled beneath his paws, she doubted she had time to search for something to throw to him. She also doubted he could make the jump from his floating patch of grass to her, if only because he seemed so afraid.
Her eyes flit down the ground under her own paws, beyond that to the abyss stretching out where earth had once been. The she-wolf gulped thickly, inhaling and exhaling in a deep, steady pattern until she made her decision. Everything before her eyes was undeniably impossible, so perhaps that was the correct path to choose? Do the impossible to overcome the impossible. So she lifted her eyes to pup and offered up a warm smile.
"Don't worry little one, I'm coming." And she stepped off the edge. Did You Equip An Item?: N/A

RP Response: She wasn't sure if she could trust her eyes, for the sight in front of her seemed so bizarre, she wasn't sure she believed it. The ground was floating, and there was the pup! "Shattered Oracle! I'm here to help!" she called to him, trying to figure out what she should do. As she called out, the ground beneath him started falling away. 'Oh no!' she thought, 'now what?!' There wasn't time to think, all she could do was hope that he could jump to her. "JUMP!" she yelled, and hoped it would be enough. "AS HARD AS YOU CAN!"

You word shouts and vibrates through the air, echoing around you as the world crumbles and folds. The pup trembles, looking at the distance between you and faltering. His legs crumble as he caves into himself, crying out.
"I can-"
His island crumbles at his feet and he slips, his words plummeting with him. Your voice catches in your throat as a soundless cry escapes you.
The world turns black.

The pup trembles, looking at you helplessly. You need to help. It isn't because of the request anymore; you feel the need to save him deep in your bones. Your legs move forward as you fight every instinct to stop. Under you is an abyss that crept in as you focused on the pup. The world around you is darkening. It's all surreal and yet all you can see is that helpless child.
Your paw touches hard ground.
You take one moment to glance down as another of your paws reaches forward. Floating ground forms under your paw, creating a haphazard path. Your brain reels -- this isn't possible. Yet it is. You push forward, walking that path until you stand before the puppy.
He looks up at you, reaching out as his eyes glimmer fear and relief at the same time. His island crumbles and he pushes onto the floating path you've created, a yelp leaving him. Cold fur presses into yours as his chest heaves from labored air as you both stand on the path. The world is almost pitch black, but he's there with you. You won't let anything happen to him.
He looks up at you, one purple eyes filled with tears. Gratitude swells in his expression as his mouth parts. "You came for me," he whimpers. You nod. Of course you did.
The world around you explodes in color as suddenly the darkness is lifted. The world blossoms back into color and most importantly solid ground. You look at him, bewildered, and he just smiles, mouth parting to say someth--

"Get up!"
The world snaps forward with a jump. You smell the harsh scent of flowers and bitter cold air, fumbling as you sit upright. Where... are you? You blink back a haze as you glance around you blearily. The flowers -- you're... you're where you started? What's going on?
You snap your gaze up to see a distraught Seer staring back at you, her paws hitting the ground in a gentle stomp. "Oh good, I was trying to wake you for so long... you kept crying out in your sleep. The party ended awhile ago. Are you okay?"
The party? It all comes back to you, your adventure unraveling backwards. It all... no, it couldn't be, and yet a dreading confirmation settled in your stomach. It had been a dream. All of it. It had felt so real... yet you were safely tucked into your nest of flowers. Safe, and yet so rattled.

Congratulations, the CYOA is now over! The flowers seem to have given you quite the nightmare, and yet you all survived in the end! It's a harmless flower, really, but maybe next time don't sleep in a patch of unknown flowers, yeah?
