Raliegh figured sliding down the hill was gonna give the centaurs some time to catch up, but with Jimbo on his shoulder, he couldn't just roll down the hill, and he didn't want to spend too much time going down, so grasping trees on his way down seemed like the best bet.

RP Response: Amarith tried to go slowly and use the trees as brakes, but her injured leg wasn't having it and with an involuntary shriek she lost her balance and went tumbling. Trying to catch herself was impossible, all she could do was try to protect herself with her wings and pray she didn't break anything on the way down.

RP Response: The hill she'd gotten too was getting steep and slippery with wet leaves. She tried to keep sound to a minimum each time she slipped, but it was difficult. Instead, she went as slow as she dared to in order to make it to the bottom in one piece. If only she had any idea where she was actually going.

RP Response: His luck had nearly won out there, though he was... somewhat amused to have a new hitchhiker clinging to his leg. Before it could be lost to his running, he scooped it up and tucked it into a pocket. Now that he considered it, where had that bird gone to?
He skidded slightly when he got to the hill, breathing somewhat heavy from the racing about thus far. It must have been the adrenaline, and that thought of how ridiculous all of this was--Brialla was going to never have him live this down, if he managed to return and give a report about the experience. Why not add more to the ludicrous nature?
Mindful of the small leafy bug in his pocket, the large hallowed grimm got down on his knees, and then onto his side. Who needed dignity when you were dead?
Giving a deep laugh, Cian pushed himself off and rolled down the damn hill.

Troy nodded to her with a light smile, gently squeezing back before they started moving forward. "I figured. All we can do is our best in this case. They have the home field advantage but even they have their weaknesses." Once they found a place to climb out of the ravine without too much difficulty they were on the run again, Troy keeping a firm grip on Tabi's hand to guide her along with verbal warnings of what was coming up so she didn't get more hurt than she likely already was. When they reached the hillside, he paused and briefly debated using the trees to keep them from going down too fast but that was likely going to give the centaurs a chance to catch up. The faster method, though reckless, could give them a bit more distance. With an understanding between them, he briefly let go of Tabi's hand so they could both roll down the hill and attempt to dodge as much of what lay ahead of them as possible. (I will edit this section if I need to after skies finishes posting)

It was a simple choice for the Centaurs - while many of them could easily leap across the ravine, by crossing a nearby fallen log they were able to shoot arrows and throw nets at people both on the log and those below them. Of course, they were forced to move in almost single file, so their pickings were slim.
Aritao frowned as they finally made their way across, picking up speed as they continued their hunt. She knew this land better than almost any other, and was aware of the steep slope ahead of them. Raliegh inspected the necklace he found for only a moment before Jimbo let out a loud "awmrooo" Raliegh shushed him but handing the necklace to him and watching him gnaw on it. When he came to the river he flapped his wings and hoped there was enough room for him to fly over the rapids, surely this would slow down the centaur people who had no wings and would have to swim across.
