Whoa. This kid sure was an interesting nightmare. Guadalupe's shade's nearly slid off of his face at the notion of...fear. Scary movies, haunted houses? Yeah, not his thing. It had taken him a few good solid months to get used to his weirdo of a friend being into aliens. "So I'll be hiding behind you when we get into some trouble huh?" he grinned at Oiche, whistling low between his teeth. "Research. That takes a lot of smarts. Seems very...excitin'" And a lot of schoolin'. He had been thinking about going into marine research himself but....No life? No thanks. He didn't want to be held down by academia. Even if he was paid to go off saving critters. Guadalupe couldn't hold in the shudder that overcame him. So they had one person who wanted to talk to ghosts and another who really wanted to talk to aliens. Whoo boy. "You'd get along with him. Two peas in a pod, I'd say." the nixie grinned, jutting his thumb out towards the bakeneko next to the window. "He's into gettin stories, but of the extraterrestrial kind. Obsessed, he is." He hoped they didn't run into any dead people though.... Guadalupe was here to do the job and come back in one piece. Man, ghosts couldn't be real, right?! A laugh erupted from Guadalupe's lips suddenly. "The worst? This kid could be far worse." he nudged his partner's foot again. "Be social. Ya both like the supa'natural and heebee jeebees, ya twit." He turned his attention back to Oiche. "This kid can get so bad about aliens that he throws a temper tantrum." It could be far worse. This was tame. "There couldn't possibly be ghosts in the..lost...lands." he stared, unsure at Oiche. It wasn't like he believed in ghosts. Extraterrestrials, no proof of them. But... he for sure wasn't going to hang around people who were wantin' to get in a bit of trouble talkin' to a few, if they did pop up.

“ Well you have to be born a medium to see them or hear them and a good chunk of the population can’t. So I wouldn’t worry bout ghosts. There probably are at least a couple.... especially if the rumors are true but they need a lot of power and the like to actually effect the living world.”oíche replied. “ It’s just a hard field of research because people can’t see they don’t believe and then you get called a crackpot. Fun things like that” oíche replied addressing the questions thrown at her. She did raise an amused eyebrow when gaudalupe mentioned he would be hiding behind her. Kind of made sense. She had taken after her chimera height and was a good 7 feet and three inches. Not many people wanted to tangle with you when you where a good foot or two taller than them. “ Sure I don’t mind. I may not look like it since I am sitting down but I am probably one of the tallest people in this carriage. “ huh she would not have pegged the one Guadalupe pointed to as an alien believer. Then again.... “ Well scientifically it would be silly to assume that we were the only planet with life. Never seen an alien but won’t say it’s not a possibility.” She wasn’t quite sure she believed they had visited the planet, but knowing how it felt when people didnt believe you she would keep an open mind. It was then the person who was sitting closest to her bumped into her with their wing. “ Ah no worries, have wings myself and it happens” oíche managed to smile.

 M A O L I
Location: Middle Carriage (near a window and across from Guadalupe)
The nixie fool kept wanting him to pay attention. Maoli passed an irritable glance at 'lupe before turning his eyes quickly to the others, scanning them before turning his attention back out the window. He hoped he hadn't missed anything.
"I'm Maoli," he finally announced to the window but intended for the rest that 'lupe was conversing with. His ears flittered down a bit. He was here for the expedition, not for socialization. It was tough, socializing. He didn't think himself shy. It was just... probably the same reason why he didn't keep plants. It was just too much effort.
Maoli's suggestion to talk to the pale, winged person was outrageous. 'Lupe knew how he felt about that! Except... temper ignited, his back stiffened. "Ghost and aliens are different," he snapped. "Aliens actually exist." His tail flicked in slight annoyance and he realized he was no longer looking out the window. His teeth grounded together before he jerked back to studying the land. "And I do not throw temper tantrums," he hissed. He really needed to charm 'lupe's gum one day. Fool.

"A medium huh?" he didn't believe in that s**t either. Not one bit. Anyone who called themselves a medium either A) wanted the attention or B) were trying to get an extra buck from poor helpless fool. He wasn't neither of those. Or a medium. He stared at Oiche skeptically..he wasn't going to chance not having a meat shield if there were ghosts there. "Well, I'll leave you to takin' care of those big baddies." Not like he was going to trust Oiche if they tell him that the only way to escape was through jumping off a cliff, but he wasn't going to chance angerin' any sort of thing that he couldn't see. It was always best to take precautions, yeah? "We're all a bit of a weirdo." he grinned, smacking at his gum. Some, like Maoli, more than others. Sure, he was going to judge, but he wasn't going to hold it against someone, no matter how crazy. As long as they didn't harm him, it was cool. "Don't listen to 'em," he breezed, smacking at his gum. "Ones who judge got too much time on their hands." And not enough culture, in his humble opinion. He rolled his eyes. "Mao says the same thing. I'll believe it when I see it." he looked over towards the bakeneko, frowning. "Which I haven't." He had followed the male one too many times into danger for aliens. All for nothin'. it was aggrivatin'. And humilating. The amount of times he wore a tin foil hat at Maoli's insistence in public... And to say he doesn't throw temper tantrums. Guadalupe couldn't hid the roll of his eyes. "You're throwin one right now, twit." Man, he couldn't wait until they got out of the carriage. Walkin' Maoli would do them both some good.

xSaiph's face scrunched in disgust. "Of course I'm going to take this seriously. Someone's life could be in danger; this is no time for messing around." The very idea that they would upset Saiph. Safety and justice were no laughing matters or someone's playground. Their intended line of work would always mean affecting someone's life in some way or another. Troy's reasoning returned Saiph's better light of him. "Good, good. I'm glad you see the need for people like us here. I'm actually rather upset that my future siblings-in-arms aren't more on top of this but I guess there must be some reasons for it.""That's why I'm hoping to talk to Professor Honeymint," Saiph said while taking a moment to look around them to see if the professor could be spotted. "I'm hoping to ask her a few questions to get a better feel of things before we actually make it to the Lost Land's. It'll really help to know as much as we can."

Location: Middle carriage Coralynne lessened to the conversation going on around her. Ghosts and Aliens? She had lived a somewhat isolated life, so she really wasn't sure what to think about it all. One thing was for sure if there was ghost in the lost lands they would all soon know with there new friend around to let them know that is. "Well this will for sure be an adventure. One for the book is would say." Taking a deep breath in Coralynne was support starting to feel the emotions of the rest of the occupants on the bus. Being an empathy could be a good thing in a one on one situation but and carriage full was hard to take in. Breath Coralynne the trip is almost over, she said to encourage herself.

"I'm glad you understand the gravity of this. I honestly wonder about some of those around us and if they understand that." There was a genuineness in Troy's voice as he spoke, honestly relieved that at least some people were taking this seriously. He didn't mind playfulness but there was a time and place for it...and he doubted this was either. "I'd like to know their reasoning behind ignoring something like this...but we're here now and have a chance to do something." He smiled with a light of hope that they could find the missing person and not lose anyone else in the process....hopefully. "Ah, right. That's actually along the lines of what I was going to ask her. Shall we go find her, then? I'm sure it would put her mind at ease to know we genuinely want to find Doctor Horn and her input could be invaluable."

"You're no fun." Lycos stated flatly to their fellow hallowed, and decided their time was going to be best spent doing something more productive than talking to those who seemed to think they were better than everyone else. Just cuz they looked fancy.
And so, for most of the rest of the carriage ride, Lycos opted to sleep. Curled up next to their twin once Latros was also done socializing, making the two of them a pillow-nest to sleep in.
Whenever they felt like it, they'd hop to the next carriage, whether or not Latros followed, and tried to do the talking thing to others. Sometimes it went well, and Lycos felt like they'd made a friend. Other times? Well, some of these people were just too uptight for Lyos' tastes. And some just seemed to be absorbed into one or two other people only, or shoving their noses so hard in a book that Lycos wondered if all they ever smelled was paper. But even then, they'd try again later, once they'd calmed down from the excitement a bit.
But the best part of the trip? Was when everyone was asleep, and Lycos was curled up next to their twin on the roof of their chosen carriage for the night, the breeze caressing their fur and the skies looking down upon them as they traveled.
Maybe they wouldn't be the first to find the lost doctor, but they had each other and others to share this amazing journey with.Mauserati kinda wrapping it up a lil, hope this isnt too godmodd-y <3

Last car Eir was successfully cowed by her earlier reaction, and just sat silently, declining a cookie because she was mad at herself. But at least no one seemed to hold her reaction against her. Once the cookies were passed around and consumed, it seemed no one was going to mention her little... moment. For most of the trip, she enjoyed sitting and listening to Dr. Tabi tell stories about the Swirling Sands. Now and then, Eir would share her own stories about her travels and her time at the temple of Enyo, since it wasn't fair for only one person to tell stories. However she couldn't stay sitting the whole time. She needed to stretch, and often found herself up on the roof of the carriage stretching and going over her sword techniques. She wanted to be prepared for anything, but she also didn't want to seem rude. When it came to sleeping, she was content to sitting either on her seat or on the floor, and letting anyone who needed to stretch out do so. Eir made a good pillow, if nothing else.

The rest of the carriage ride found Sierra trying to...well- not exactly play the host but more gently nurture the group. She'd try to find ways to break up boredom with games, when others weren't telling stories- though strangely she herself never told a story unless it was about her time at Leviathan or the Com College. And those were straight short and to the point. In fact for nurturing Sierra seemed to be a mostly hands off type- sitting and listening to the hustle and bustle, and quietly watching over everyone. She spent a significant amount of her time embroidering on a hoop a picture of flowers blooming as she listened......gathering information, knowledge, and power.

"Chocolate chai tea sounds divine!" Cyan licked her lips as she watched the shade hybrid rise to her feet. How did Clare move around with such a large, horny tail? And how sentient and with it was that tail? What was it capable of? Wandering around the carriage was probably harder for Clare than it was for Cyan. All Cyan had to deal with was thick hips. Not a whole creature attached to her butt. Cyan, as comfortable as she was, decided to get to her feet and help the hybrid out. "I am happy to assist mine lady in the kitchen!" The hybrid offered a toothy grin as she bowed at the waist in a flashy but playful display. That moment set the tone for the moments and days that followed. Cyan, of course, had plenty of moments to stretch her legs, finding her way up to the roof to talk to some of the fliers in the other carriages, but also to drink in the view of their surroundings. But she had spent most of her time with Clare -- the shameless flirt that Cyan was. Clare was just Cyan's type, and her boyfriend troubles made Cyan all the more sympathetic towards Clare. The woman -- sweet as honey as she was -- definitely deserved better. Maybe when all this was said and done, if things didn't get better with Clare's boyfriend, Cyan could hook her up with one of her friends and find her someone who would give her the world. For now, Cyan kept it cool. Ultimately her flirting was harmless, paying the hybrid compliments over her disposition and styling as opposed to her body. Any contact between the two were like that of a ghost, leaving the skin prickled in the wake of her claws. Cyan never did anything untoward, and if Clare said that Cyan made her uncomfortable she certainly would have stopped. But Cyan liked Clare as a friend -- and what was a platonic kiss or two between friends? She could foresee the pair making steady friends once all the expedition was over and done with. The adventure would certainly help them forge a lasting relationship, an experience that only the two of them would genuinely understand. It was the stuff that strong relationships were forged from. As the first stretch of their journey neared its end, Cyan was pleased with the bonds she was forming with the folks staying in their carriage. But she had to remember that, ultimately, she was here to work. It couldn't always be fun and games. Location: First Carriage

xSaiph had heard the antics of some of the other company members so they knew exactly what Troy meant. The hybrid hoped that it was just the excitement of the trip that was making said people so hyper and silly. Either that or this trip might be trouble from the very get go. Saiph only knew that they had not signed up to be a babysitter. "Right, we probably should go find her before things start to get too crazy in here," Saiph said with a decisive nod. "I just hope she's not too busy trying to keep others in line."It took a little bit more searching than Saiph had thought, but eventually they came across Clare Honeymint enjoying tea and snacks with someone else. "Oh, uh, hello Ms. Honeymint, I hope you don't mind an interruption. Troy here," Saiph pointed at the Naiad, "and I have a few questions we'd like to ask before this expedition gets started." Saiph smiled at Honeymint and the stranger in turn. grandma duck (It would be great if you could just list out information Clare would be able and willing to give the two based on the idea of Saiph wanting to be as informed about the situation as possible. No need to RP it out. Just copy/paste what she might have shared from the front page.)
