Yitzah heard, and saw, and felt. She was aware that she was no longer restrained, that people were not treating her poorly, that people were talking. She heard the voice of the hybrid.
Yitzah had heard the stories too. Of course she had. But she hadn't thought them to be mere stories. She knew better, that they were real... but she hadn't been talking then. She hadn't known how to talk about what she'd seen, felt, heard. She'd also felt that others wouldn't understand or know. She'd been right.
Now she just didn't want to.
She felt like not talking now, like her voice had died again. She hadn't been ready - she hadn't been ready at all to see those... things... again.
Half listening, her antennae twitched in vague response. Destroyed the world? She hadn't heard that... but she believed it. How were they - were any of them - alive, then?
She brought her knees to her chest and hugged them, eyes staring into the distance, still shaken... still not quite there.

Shesha - Post 7 Shesha gave a slow breath as he listened to those in charge as they made their promises. It was one of those things where it just sounded like a lot of hot air to Shehsa. It wasn't that he had zero faith in those that were saying they would get things done but it was more like he was trying to figure out how they meant to fight against something that could move as those insects could move. He turned to look over at Aqio, then forward again, "Hm... well, we will play nice. No reason to make enemies over something like this." As much as he didn't want to get involved he felt that ignoring this would come back to bite him in the backside. Best that he did what was needed of him and hope that it got him some points with those in power. Turning back to Aqio once more he said, "Going to stick by my side until this insect threat blows over? Or do you need to go talk to your family and see what they plan to do first?" If he was busy with family matters Shesha supposed that he could find the 'old man' and head back home with him. Not the best company but it was better then being alone and in danger of being stolen away.

Aylin traded smiles with the soldier and returned the healer’s nod- thank goodness it had only been a flesh wound. The commotion of Yitzah’s release caught her eye and she moved towards the collapsed Alkidike.
She didn’t know what trauma these creatures had caused her new acquaintance, but judging by her reaction Aylin could guess. Yitzah’s demeanor reminded her all too much of those early days, weeks, months of Aylin’s loss. After she had fled her village, consumed as it was by Oban flames and taken in by Biroki- if it hadn’t been for him reaching out, how long would she have been lost?
She kneeled besides Yitzah, only paying cursory attention to the figures at the head of the crowd and this new hybrid. Yes it was good that Oba and Matori were demonstrating mutual support, and she was glad to hear their words, but her concerns were closer at hand now and the stories she had already heard from spending time with Ast’s resident hybrid. She reached out tentatively and laid a hand on Yitzah’s back, “Hey, I’ve got your back- remember?” She felt small beside the Alkidike, what could she do or offer, and added hesitantly, “You don’t need to speak, but know that I am here if you need someone to listen. I think you’ve suffered a great loss at these monsters’ hands, and I know what it is to lose the ones you love.”

Aqio - Post 7 The assassin looked over to his parents who appeared at the corner of his eye. He shared a nod with them before turning to his mage. "I'm sticking with you." he said with a nod. "They'll be going home without issue, they have the big boys guarding them." He was referring to the beasts his Father trained.

Shesha - Post 8 "Alright. We will wait, see if the elders have anything else to say, and then I think we should retire for a while." It was such a pain. Here Shesha was plotting and planning things that were to benefit him and this all went down. Here he'd thought that they might finally be getting a leg up in all of what was going on as far as their own personal battles went. Depending on what happened going forward though that might have to be put on hold. Leaning against his magical staff he gave a little sigh, blowing a piece of hair out of his face, waiting for the meeting to wrap up so they could head for home.

Saraf - Post 7 After the attack by the Dretch everything seemed to be dying down to a degree. It seemed as though people were wanting to leave now, though it made sense. Things were dangerous now, it made people want to go to where it would at least feel safer. Turning his attention to Arima he said, "Would you like me to escort you home?" He wanted to keep her right at his side from now until... well, whenever the threat of those bug mages had been dealt with but he knew that wasn't exactly possible. She had other things that she would likely want to do with her time that didn't involve being chained to his side. As such he found himself wanting to gather the forces of the Outcast Unit, to go back to Captain Jinx, and get the lot of them ready for what was to come. It was likely to be tense from here on out and he wanted to make sure above all else that Arima was safe. If that meant bringing her home or even finding some people to act as bodyguards when he wasn't around he would. Anything to keep her safe.

-------------------- Yitzah barely reacted to the hand on her shoulder. Any other time, she might have been uncomfortable, jumpy even. But instead, she felt dull. Numb. Her tongue tied as surely as if there had been a spell cast on it. As if the bugmen had cut it from her mouth. She had to give a response though. Something. She dragged herself out just enough to look at Aylin and nod. Yeah. she wanted to say, Thanks. I'll take you up on that. Funny how she'd remembered the promise to watch her back, and Yitzah had forgotten it in the moment. It wasn't a good thing to forget. Yitzah's frown deepened, but it didn't look like the shifter was upset with her. No one seemed to be. They all seemed... Nice? Why? Alethryia These two need another rp

Chapter 9: Grave Expectations

 Besian and Naria were concerned. They knew of Yansa, but they weren't sure how to contact her. The Oban leader turned and faced the crowd.
"We will be reaching out to other areas to make sure they aren't facing the same thing. Once we find out more information, we will share it with the public and ensure safety is on our streets."
Naria nodded and quickly added, "We ask anyone who has information or knows of a way to contact the Alkidikes meet us at the front. Otherwise, please make sure to travel in groups and always with protection..."
"There will be a curfew at sundown. No one is permitted to travel after dark, unless provided a permit and protection from the Army. We will increase patrols on the borders but you also need to be vigilant. Do not travel alone. Do not go without your weapons. Do not take a risk and approach this creature on your own. We must be safe and protect each other!"
The crowd began to leave, sullen and quiet, as Naria and Besian watched from their post. Both were concerned...would they get the answers they needed? Was this happening across Tendaji? Was there even anything they could do?
For now, they needed answers, and Besian knew just who to ask.

Chapter 9 is complete! That you everyone for your participation! Please take a moment to read the following for additional guidance on what's you can expect for those who reside in Oba and Matori!
||. Patrols on the border and in the settlements have increased and there is a curfew of no travel after dark. If one is caught, they will either be taken to their home (if they are a minor and have one) or taken to jail until the morning. Plan accordingly if your character likes to travel after dark!
||. The leaders are contacting the other locations for more information. They have not yet realized how wide spread it is, but eventually rumors will begin to spread.
||. Feel free to base rumors off of the information in the Official NPC thread. Considered this word of mouth and rumors, and feel free to have your character exaggerate the info beyond what's listed. Only Alkidikes know the truth, and they have not yet provided information to earthlings.
||. More information on next steps, plot progression, and OOC information will be shared once ready.
