Personality: Giselle is not your typical elf. She eschews racial pride as she feels abandoned by her race, to the point where she has abandoned Above to live in Below; the fact that elves are not popular with the other races and that she will be judged for what she is is something that leaves her bitter and resentful on the inside. In the end all she wants is for people to see her for who she is and what she can do. She is very controlled and careful not to let anyone see her inner thoughts and feelings. In a sense she is fighting an internal war, her need for approval battling with her determination to succeed on her own. She maintains an air of polite civility and professionalism that comes off as aloof and stiff. As she is now Giselle cannot allow herself to lower her shields to expose her true self (and her vulnerabilities) and fights her inner demons on her own. Even logically knowing that she might have an easier time of things if she got some help, any time someone makes inquiries that she considers "prying" she gets quite defensive. She can't help but keep herself to herself, and though she will impart details to a few rare, trusted individuals, she doesn't do so to gain pity or help.
Giselle does have softer sides to her, despite the hard mask she wears. She's an excellent cook, for example. She has an artist's eye and sees a lot of beauty in simple things. She has a way with potted plants, especially flowers. It might surprise many to know that Giselle also likes children. She has a lot of patience and shows a tenderness with them that is completely absent in her interactions with older people. She can still be firm when it comes to correcting bad behavior, but you can still tell she's more careful with her words and actions.
Giselle's past plays a big role in why she is the way she is. Even if she one day finds someone she trusts enough to open up to and can alleviate the negative emotions just swirling around inside her, the changes to her personality are largely permanent. She is, however, an honest and fair person at the core, and while she has many prejudices that can color a first impression she is not too proud to admit that evidence seems to prove she is wrong in some cases. She's plenty stubborn and prideful, make no mistake, but there's a generous and loving heart under that sharp exterior if you're persistent and trustworthy enough to find it.

Giselle lives above her jewelry shop. There is a main door leading into the shop itself, with several display counters displaying the pieces she has made and another counter where more valuable pieces are kept secure and where payment for purchases is made. There is a door behind that counter that leads into a small area at the back of the store where Giselle makes her jewelry, with a workbench and several tables full of random supplies. In the back room is a door leading outside to a small, fenced area with a gate and a staircase that leads to the second story.
On the second floor, to the immediate left of the stairs is a small living area and kitchen. To the right is an open area with a desk and computer, and a tiny space big enough for a washer and dryer. The door to the left of the desk leads to the bathroom, which has a shower/tub, toilet, and sink. The door to the right of the desk leads to Vincent's room, and the door next to the washer and dryer leads to Giselle's room. Neither have much in the way of personal possessions just yet, but they each have a bed and dresser.
Adoptive son. Giselle met Vincent while visiting a local orphanage on an act of charity, donating some hand-made plushies. He wasn't at all shy about approaching her and talking to her, and she found his straightforward manner and innocent curiosity very charming. She ended up adopting him and has never regretted it. She's proud of how independent yet caring he is, and looks forward to seeing how his future unfolds.

Romance:
Giselle really likes the color green, in all different shades. She's okay with other colors as well, but anything garish makes her cringe a bit. If you ask (and she likes you enough to give an honest answer), Giselle will admit to holding onto somewhat childish fantasies of someone tall with nice muscles, perfect hair, and a charming smile. In truth though it doesn't really matter.
Since Giselle has a hard time letting people get close to her it's personality that will be more problematic than looks. Someone optimistic, cheerful, and rarely discouraged might be able to eventually work their way into her trust and get to see some of the sweetness below the thorns. Someone equally grumpy might be amusing, like sarcasm soulmates. I think as long as they have a fairly mature frame of mind things should be able to work themselves out and we can come up with an idea to suit.

Some. Technically there aren't any races that are barred, but if you want to offer an Elf you'll have a bigger struggle to get through.

Yes, but only if the other person plans to leave all the stones with Giselle. There can be exceptions, depending on how the two get along, but for the most part Giselle is too standoff-ish to want to try to co-parent.
Friends:
Giselle is a big softy when it comes to children. She'd like to have some of her own one day, but there's also something that greatly appeals to her in giving a home to a child in need. She's already got one adoptive son, and would be quite happy to add more children to the family. While she would prefer to outright adopt and the younger the better, Giselle is also open to the idea of fostering and looking after older children. It largely depends on what the situation would be.
Giselle is a rather talented artist and custom designs and creates all the jewelry in her shop. She has plans to expand one day, but of course there's only so much one person can do. While it's not currently a problem, at some point Giselle is going to need help. Whether it's someone who's business-savvy who can take over the running of the store and leave her solely with creation or a fellow jewelry-designer who can help her with the creation of unique pieces, at some point she'll need the extra help.
Rivals:
Giselle is very cautious around her own race. She holds the majority of their traditional views in contempt and doesn't like dealing with them at all given a choice. She tries not to wear her heart on her sleeves, but it's not exactly a secret either. It would be interesting for her to have constant run-ins with a Elf that has more traditional views.
More of a frenemies idea. Giselle holds on to a lot of negative emotions. Nothing super bad, but still bad enough to be a bit detrimental to her well-being. I think it would be kind of fun for her to meet someone who recognizes the symptoms and tries to get Giselle to open up and work through her problems. Her being stubborn and close-off, this is only going to result in a lot of annoyance and sharp words on Giselle's part. So even though they have good intentions, Giselle would just find them to be a nuisance.

Personality: Erato was originally adopted by an elderly Demon. He was getting on in his years and couldn't function as independently as he used to, not to mention he never had children, all his immediate family had passed on, and the few distant relations he still had weren't what you'd call close. It was mere curiosity that drove him into the store selling Dolls, rather than any kind of conscious decision to purchase one, but Erato caught his eye, and he, Erato's. Erato spent several years of their life with their new owner, who was a combination of parent and mentor. The Demon was a theater major who had once worked as a director and still loved getting out to see plays whenever possible. He imparted this love to Erato, who was fascinated by all the intricate worlds that could be created and brought to life through theater.
With Erato to look after him and keep him company the elderly Demon flourished, but even the best care in the world could not turn back the hands of time. There was no warnings, no sudden illness or noticeable physical decline. He simply went to sleep one night and did not wake. Erato was shattered by the loss. All traces of personality seemed to vanish as they withdrew into themself. They completely stopped drinking Angel Breath and went into standby mode. To further complicate matters the Demon had not updated his will since adopting Erato. He bequeathed his possessions to Grendel's theater program, to use or sell as they liked, and Erato, still in standby mode and completely unresponsive, fell under the title of possession. It was some time before they were discovered and administered Angel Breath, though they were still so distraught that they refused to look after themself and needed constantly looking after to keep from going back into standby. No one was really sure what to do with Erato, being in the state they were in and all, and a decision still had yet to be made when Erato first met Shochu. It was just pure chance, the hybrid had enrolled in the theater program recently and was playing a backup character, but had a costume malfunction. Erato just happened to be there and since no one else was available to help they stepped up. The force of Shochu's cheerful personality seemed to make a mark on Erato in a way nothing else really had, and from that day they began to take more and more of an interest in their surroundings. Eventually they even enrolled for classes, graduated, and developed a relationship with Shochu.
Erato used to be possessed of abundant enthusiasm, though it's a toss-up between whether lingering grief or just simple maturity managed to mellow that out. They do have a very warm and friendly air about them and like to get involved and stay busy. They are a pro when it comes to the management of time and resources and can always be counted on to keep a cool head, which makes them a good balance for the more flighty Shochu. While friendly and free with advice, Erato doesn't like to talk about anything personal except with the few people they feel particularly close to. They make a pretty good actor and sometimes they'll slip into various personas when interacting with others depending on how they read the mood of the room.

Erato lives in a small, one-room apartment with Shochu, close to the Grendel campus. There's not a ton of space right now, but it's a good starting home for a couple who are still getting settled in life.

Personality: Mercury is something of an optimistic realist. He acknowledges there are bad people who do bad things for the benefit of themselves, but he tries to see past the bad to look for the redeeming qualities. This does not necessarily means he's inclined to trust everyone who seems to have a bit of good in them, nor is he willing to overlook the bad entirely. He just has a very positive-oriented mind, so those are the things he tends to focus on the most. Add to that his sentimental nature and effusive outer shell, and you'd be excused for thinking he's a total ditz. It's true that Mercury can be a bit silly and emotional, but he's quick. His mind and body have near perfect memory, and while he can't claim advanced levels of deduction and reasoning he's still no slouch when you hand him two and two.
Mercury has a very cheerful and warm air about him that can make people feel instantly welcome. He is not the most tactful of people though; never deliberately cruel, he will nonetheless ask questions that could be seen as invasive or prying. Though he will drop a subject when asked to, you can see in his eyes that he doesn't really understand, not why a person is upset, but why the information is forbidden. Mercury believes that holding on to poisonous memories without giving them an outlet is a corrosive thing that does more harm in the long run. He has sympathetic ears and solid shoulders for those who need to do a bit of crying, and while he's not one for excuses he understands that sometimes life throws unexpected curve balls at people and all they can do is cope as best they can. For all his emotions and energy, Mercury is a highly steadfast person who does not easily betray confidences.
Because of his energy and body memory, dancing has always greatly appealed to Mercury. Not just traditional Fey dances, but from all cultures and races. He feels like he's telling a story using his body instead of his words, though he knows a far share of verbal stories as well.

Personality: Evermore is an orphan. Whether that's because her kin all perished or just gave her up she doesn't know, nor does the orphanage where she was left. After a certain point she stopped caring, finding the matter to be irrelevant. By accident or design, she was alone in the world. Unfortunately the orphanage didn't help with those feelings. The people who ran it were well-intentioned, but there weren't enough staff to give all the orphans much individual attention; some days it was all they could do just to give the basic care needed to keep the children in good health. The staff called her "Ruby", for her red eyes, though half the time it seemed like they couldn't even remember the name they had given her, calling her by generic terms. She hated the orphanage, all the lonely feelings the place instilled in her, and when she was still a young freshling she ran away. Inspired by an old, slightly dreary poem, she changed her name, though instead of nevermore she chose evermore, liking how enduring the word felt. Assuming anyone out there even recognizes her, let alone remembers her as Ruby from the orphanage, Evermore refuses to respond to that title. She lived on the streets, and while she never necessarily prospered she still did okay for herself. She avoided adults, not wanting to get caught and taken back to the orphanage, though there came a day when she did finally get taken up. To her credit, there were more searchers about that day, having gotten a report of two soul stones left in an abandoned building. It was actually Evermore herself who found the soul stones, and was in the process of bringing them back to her den when she got discovered and taken. She was placed directly into the Academy this time, with more adults to supervise and care for her. Evermore has done a bit better there, but is still highly independent and reluctant to confide in others.
Evermore's personality is textbook tsundere in a lot of ways. She comes off as pretty abrasive to hide a caring and sensitive nature. Not that she's out to be big sister to everyone, not even in a tough love version. Though she secretly craves a close relationship(s) she's simultaneously terrified at the thought of ever letting herself be that vulnerable. She resists attempts at bonding with a combination of intimidating silence and withering sarcasm. Getting through her shields seems to be something that just happens at random, since even Evermore herself is surprised when she lets people get closer. Now it's not to say her stand-offish and private nature means she's also selfish. Evermore is a scrappy fighter who shows her kindness in millions of small, subtle ways, and is never the type to abandon others when the going gets tough. She may never be anyone's choice for pleasant company, but she's a good person to have on your side when it counts!
