With Scy and Mimey's help, finding the gym wasn't too difficult. He entered with his pokemon around him, but returned all but Mime Jr and Zoey, challenging the gym, and informing them that his starter was, basically, Oshawott, the water pokemon-- even though it had evolved to Dewott, and the circumstances were slightly unusual. However, it worked well enough, and he was set up to battle Cilan, who sent Lilipup out first.

The battle ended far sooner than Cilan, and his pokemon, would have liked; he could hear his brothers' comments already. "That was, uhm, great!" he congratulated the blind cowboy as he recalled Pansage to his pokeball and swallowed once before taking a step back to retrieve his challenger's winnings, hopefully he could continue the next few lines without the awkward, 'uhm's' and second-long pauses. "This badge here is proof that you bested one of the three gym leaders, this time it's me, and with it you now can now use the HM, Cut." he spoke as he collected the items, gathering them into a neat pile before he strode to Jay to present them to him. "Oh, that badge would be the Trio bade. You get it... because there's three of us?" he cleared his throat, bringing an end to where his sentence had trailed off. "Uhm, anyway." darn, so close too. "Along with that you receive the TM Psych Up, use it wiselyl." Cilan brought his forearm to his abdomen before lowering his upper half into a bow; far too late he realized the man in front of him wouldn't see the gesture. "Thank you for the battle and congratulations on yours and your pokemon's win."

Whew, what a battle. It went by pretty fast, too, and Jacque was proud of his pokemon. They needed the training, and this was the perfect opportunity for it. The gym leader didn't sound too thrilled by it, but that was surprising, and he gave a bit of an apologetic, well mannered smile to the man as Mime Jr bounded over to stand with him and the other pokemon. He nodded politely as Cilan approached, Zoey lifting her head to let out another super sonic, giving him an adequate impression of where Cilan was holding the bundle of prizes so he could reach out for them. He couldn't help but grin a bit at the young man's stuttering. It was cute, in an endearing way. But how in the world did he become a gym leader with a disposition like that? Jacque could only suppose it was in part thanks to his skill, and his brothers.
"Thank ya kindly," he remarked in a typical southern way, giving a tip of his hat at the bow, which, though he couldn't see, he could pick up on thanks to Zoey. He tucked the prizes away, shifting one foot back, and turning halfway towards the exit. "Thanks again, 'n have good'un," he added, giving another tip of his head, then turning to step out.
He headed for the pokecenter, getting his pokemon healed up, but struck out for Nacrene City shortly thereafter. He wanted to at least get two badges down quickly, if he could, then maybe do a bit of training. He would have to double check the typing of the next gym, though... it was certainly possible that it would be better to do that training beforehand.

Why were guys everywhere? And, why were they so stubborn and persistent? Of course, the guy following her now and trying to get her to stop speed walking away was only trying to apologize for scaring her. He had mistaken Cheria as his girlfriend, which led to him sneaking up on her and doing that "guess who?" thing, and he seemed to be one of those people that couldn't leave things as was when he did something to scare or otherwise harm someone. He wasn't being a pervert or anything. Still, Cheria wished he'd leave her alone. Lupup, now laying clumsily on her bag, continued to growl at his trainer's pursuer defensively. Cheria suddenly bumped into someone, which sent Lupup spiraling off her bag, and she tightened her self-hug. "S-Sorry...." She quickly got back to her brisk walk, looking back briefly to see Lupup running after her. The guy caught up to her and grabbed her wrist, making her scream. Not bloody murder, but nonetheless, it was a scream. "Let go of me!""Lupup!!" The small puppy Pokemon zipped over and bit into the man's pantleg, but missed his skin entirely. So, no harm done to him. Unfortunately.
