Dan could feel his heart sink in his chest when Trishella started talking all of a sudden. She had gone complete unnoticed, given the circumstances, which is why he was now looking at her like she committed some unholy sin. Taking a deep breath, he looked to Darts who suggested they look for this lantern, most likely to avoid further pissing this ghost off. "Yeah, sounds good to me. If it's part of the festival it should be on display somewhere. I'll get an aerial view; see if we can spot it then." Talon didn't really get much rest, but he really needed his help right now. He'd send the bird out again, asking to keep a lookout for a lantern. Once he took to the skies, Dan would nod to the others before beginning his search. As for Electra, she was having a wonderful time getting to run about familiar roads. She didn't seem to be paying any attention to the device her trainer strapped onto her, even when it started speaking. And then she saw the lantern...which didn't interest her in the slightest; however, the human's gathered around it did. As she neared, the Pikachu could see they actually didn't seem too concerned about it. "Pika?" she squeaked, hopping onto the table. Something didn't sit right here...

Reno would look over to Dista before giving a small circular motion with his hands. Quickly throwing a Pokeball into the air, Dista's Chatot appeared in the air and would set off with Dan to assist his search for this lantern. Looking between each other before starting to walk towards the festival, Reno waved the others to follow along. Why were they the only ones deciding to actually just walk in and search at this point?

"So let's summarize. There is a lantern, which is apart of this festival. For whatever reason the local ghost population, which includes several hybrids, are very angered over this lantern and want it returned to the Lost Tower. This still doesn't answer the question of what this chi signature is doing here, and what is causing it. I refuse to believe it's from the ghosts, or even the hybrids. Could it be the lantern perhaps?" Sub spoke.
"Dan's Pikachu has found a lantern." GRAY blurted out through their SNAGs.
"What? Where at?" GRAY wouldn't get a chance to answer that question as Odd's spiritual senses would trigger big time at that moment. He knew where it was now.
--------
As Electra neared the lantern the temperature around her would suddenly drop. No, that wasn't right. It didn't drop, in fact it stayed the same and yet it was bitterly cold. The cold wasn't anything of this world however, it was beyond the mortal realm. Electra was a Pikachu, a Pokemon, and all Pokemon seemed to have this latent sense trouble, and this thing oozed trouble. How vile it was.
The moment Electra got the courage to get close enough to the lantern and touch it (it called to her almost), an explosion of spiritual energy was released. The fabric between the mortal world and the spiritual torn open, the lantern being the bullet that pierced the wall and Electra was the one that fired it. Odd could feel the lantern now, as if it was not in this world until it was touched by Electra.
Electra was now no longer the same Pikachu as before, the lantern changed her immediately. She felt like she could do anything now, that the rules of the mortal world no longer applied to her. Even gravity was a big joke. All she could think about were two things; causing as much mischief as possible and her lantern. It was her's and only her's. Which might be a problem as now, all the sudden, the town folk were aware of her and her lantern.
"The lantern! That Pikachu has the lantern. Someone has to take it from it so it can still be taken to the tower." One person declared, the old man most near Electra. "I'm not." A younger boy blurted out. "No one is going to want to take it." A middle aged woman declared. "I will." Sighed a man in his twenties as he approached Electra. "Come here you little rat."

Darksol88 SubonicXP "A lantern huh...could they mean the lantern that is the centerpiece of tonight's festivities?" Sub asked no one in particular. "Bah! Three on one isn't fair when it's not in my favor! Bring us the lantern back before Jack gets it. Only then will my curse be lifted. Or fail, don't matter to me!" The Haunter hybrid said with a ghoulish laugh before simply disappearing from reality, not so much as a puff of smoke followed his vanishing act. "Well that was certainly peculiar..." Larrimore commented as he watched the hybrid disappear. His Chesnaught just gave off an annoyed grumble as he walked back to his trainer's side, dismayed that it didn't get to clobber something. "I trust the two of you are fine? What is this curse it spoke of?" He asked them. Dan's Pikachu was able to make some good distance with that SNAG. The whole while GRAY was trying to scan for the source of this foul chi but it was just too powerful to pin point a single location. It appeared all would be in vain until a black lantern with a tiny little sun floating inside of it could be seen resting on a table, surrounded by people and yet forgotten by them all. GRAY had been paying attention to what the others found out so he made it a point to alert Dan's Pikachu about the fact that they needed to find a lantern. Hopefully the Pokemon understood him. The camera on the SNAG wouldn't be stable for GRAY to see the lantern after all. "We... should be," Amaranth replied, already fearing the images wouldn't truly end. But at least some time seemed to be bought. "He was a few Haunter before becoming... that. We were shown one terrible image after the next, threatening to drive us into whatever depths he wanted to send us in. That's probably the curse he was talking about..." "I don't know. What ever it is, it hasn't stopped..." Freth said, grasping at her head a bit. "It's not as bad as before, but ugh...I'm just seeing...ugh, awful stuff every now and then. We...we got to get back to everyone else. We got to tell them what's going on." She said.

We...we got to get back to everyone else. We got to tell them what's going on." She said. It'd be around this time that Amaranth got the new message GRAY had sent. "I think they already know," she remarked, trying her best to ignore the few images still being shown to her. It wasn't working perfectly, but she was far from being paralyzed by it. For now. Still, between the earlier mayhem from the Mareep and now Electra going crazy with power, hearing the commotion was impossible to avoid. At once, she recalled her Togekiss and hurried towards the crowd. "Maybe. There's that old legend surrounding it, right? What if maybe-" "Aden, discern it later!" Sol spoke up. "If there is something up with the lantern, his Pikachu holding it is among the worst ideas available." He immediately ran off in search of Electra, but considering the commotion, he doubted he'd have to search long at all. "...I was just gonna ask if maybe the lantern really isn't from this plane..." "If that's causing the chi signature, probably not. Odd or Darts would be able to figure that one out better than me, though." Otherworldly things weren't exactly Cera's forte. She and Aden opted to a more prepared role, both of them looking in the distance and hoping Odd would have a more pinpointed area than "follow the noise". Or even Darts, they weren't picky about ghosts. Usually.

Darts' jacket would give a violent shudder and recoil upwards violently, like a Meowth getting soaked with water, and the Giratina hybrid would have to fight for a second to control himself, breathing deeply, before managing to pull himself together to point a finger in the direction he sensed the foul chi coming from. "There." he manages to gasp out. "That way."

Odd had started to say something when he was hit by such a forceful wave of energy that he nearly hit the ground. "GAH! What the hell?!" He demanded, positive someone had just struck him with a baseball bat. He spun around for a few seconds in search of the culprit before his senses came back to him and something registered in his conscious mind.
"That's not right." The emotion in his voice? Fear.
Not far from the bonfire, he could see a massive convergence of soul threads. The silver strands of spiritual energy emanating from that one point were so numerous he couldn't count them all and a sense of pure and undeniable evil wracked his soul even from this distance. "There's something seriously wrong over here." He called out to the others, starting in that direction in a dead run from the moment he started moving.
Trish nodded to Dan and followed after him, spreading out away from him a bit but keeping close to him at the same time. She preferred not getting lost again and wanted to keep someone in sight that might prevent that. Idina walked beside her the whole time, little sparks floating from her ears from time to time.

Sub didn't have much to say for the time being. Both of his spiritual savvy members just acted like they saw the face of fear its self and he did not like it one bit. Regardless of any fear they felt, or even himself, he knew they had to get their job done and now they had a target. The source of whatever was causing this spike in chi. Deep down he knew that whatever it is they would find when they got there, it would not be good.
"Isn't that Dan's Pikachu?" Sub asked as they neared a large group of people, yet they were parted away from a single man approaching said Pokemon. "What's it got?"

Reno would barely make it into the crowd before the way of foul chi hit him, freezing the second it washed over the area. Quietly muttering to himself in an effort to calm his nerves, he waved Dista forward in the direction he had felt whatever that had been coming from. The functioning mute would quickly start to run towards where Reno had pointed, giving a snap of her finger for her Chatot to listen for. It would hopefully lead the people in the air in the right direction, following the Chatot as it turned towards where Dan's Pikachu was.

Electra shuddered as she sat next to the lantern which was an odd thing to happen next to a flame. Whatever this light was, she didn't like it, not one bit. The Pikachu thought about breaking it and be rid of the disgusting thing. Yeah, that seemed like the right thing to do. She reached out to touch it, a look of surprise appearing on the rodent's face. Or...maybe she could take it and keep it in good paws. Yeah, that seemed like the right thing to do. Electra felt this lantern was now rightfully hers as no one else wanted. Also, the light made her feel good, like really good! Like Rhyme on Zapdos Heart good! The mouse started snickering at her new found power when the stupid humans suddenly decided they wanted her "precious". The poor guy who stepped forward would discover he made a very poor decision in doing so as Electra emptied 100,000 volts into him. She laughed in a series of "Pika's", feeling a bit of a rush from all of this. The Pikachu brought the lantern into a hug, nuzzling it with a smile.
Dan's Braviary, who was circling the town above, spotted the flash of lightning and flew closer to investigate. Seeing that it was Electra and that she held a lantern, he tried to convince her to come with him but was only received with lightning. So he flew off to get his trainer instead...
"Braaaa!" the bird cawed out to Dan who was checking an empty kiosk. "What's up? You find the lantern?" He had to assume so as Talon slowed his speed as he soared away. Well that was a lot quicker and easier than he expected. The trainer followed behind, making sure to keep up with his pokemon.

Sub managed to get front row seats to Electra's little show, watching her zap the unfortunate local and then try to zap her fellow comrade. At one point Electra unleashed a stray bolt which flew through the crowd. Sub wasn't sure how he knew it was going to strike that girl but he didn't argue with whatever force alerted him to this fact. "Get down!" Sub shouted as he tackled Ninya to the ground, the stray bolt flying off into the distance. That attack was way too powerful to have come from a Pikachu, it went so far out into the horizon that even Sub couldn't make out where it ended. Unreal. "You okay?" He asked the girl as he offered to help her up. "That's the lantern alright, and it looks like Electra has no intentions of giving it up willingly. Dan, you can try to recall Electra but I'm not giving you the time to do it. I want all of you to take down that rat down. That lantern is far too dangerous." Sub told his Snagems.

Odd arrived just in time to see Electra attacking everything in sight and reacted as quickly as possible. "Cadenza! We need the lantern! Shadow Sneak." He called out as he released his Shedinja. "Dissonance, Stone Edge! We need walls to protect the townspeople." He said as he called out his Golurk.
The two Pokemon followed orders to the best of their abilities. Cadenza vanished into the shadows in an attempt to shock Electra into releasing the lantern while Dissonance summoned massive stone blades from the ground to wall the Electric-type in to the best of it's ability.

Finally managing to scramble together a coherent thought, Reno could only watch as lightning flew from where he felt the weird sensation. Watching as one of the stray bolts began to fly through the crowd towards where he stood, Reno felt his mind snap into complete focus. Quickly reaching to his false arm and detaching it, Reno threw the appendage into the air at the bolt of electricity in hopes the limb would absorb it. Well, at least it would keep the thing from its journey through the wild sea of people.
Dista looked up at the sky to see her Chatot now flying down to her, the lightning having panicked the small bird. Glaring at the Chatot before snapping her fingers in a stern manner, she hoped the bird would listen.
What happened was Feedback squeaking in fear before attempting to hide behind Dista's head. Grabbing the small bird and holding him tightly in her hand, the mute would point the Pokemon at Dan's nutso Pikachu before squeezing. Rather than the Boomburst she had been aiming for, she got a much weaker Round fired at the Pokemon. Drat. Well, can't win them all when you try to use your Chatot as a gun.
