Trying for the Soul achievement!
SOLO His hand brushed over the pendant around his neck, curious at how it glowed a faint blue just as his core. Perhaps it was a reflection of his core? But... no. He had seen others, bearing cores of different colours that still carried the same blue pendant. There were also others, some he saw carrying some strange white pin, and... some with a black tag? He wasn't quite sure what depicted what, or why others got different things, but he supposed, perhaps, it had something to do with who, or what they were before all this? The goddesses knew, and though he desperately wanted to ask them, he knew he would receive no answer. No, not until he did more, completed more tasks, took a step closer to becoming one of them.
And then there were the fragments...
He didn't have any right now, and though he could no longer remember the words they spoke, let alone the meaning of them, he remembered they brought a sense of warmth. Peace. Something about them just made him seem... comfortable. His hand flexed remembering the sensation it brought when he touched it with his palm. A sort of comfort, reassurance, though he didn't know why.
Placing a hand on his chest, he felt his heart pulse, beating more strongly than before. In the beginning, it had been but one colour, a bright vibrant blue, a blessing from the goddess of longing, but now, though the blue still persisted, there were other colours starting to appear.
Red, Green, Yellow, Black, White, Violet.
What did this all mean? He wasn't too sure.
Of course, he couldn't forget the creatures lurking. Even now, he wasn't sure if it was safe to just be sitting, contemplating on all that happened, but at least...
He closed his eyes, hand still on his chest as he tried to concentrate, slowly pulling something out of his heart. A sword. This had protected him against the creatures, and this...
His palm opened, a few trinkets obtained from the past battles in it. He still didn't understand why, or how those creatures appeared, but it seemed by collecting enough of these, they were able to create a weapon to protect themselves.
Though there was still a lot to learn, perhaps... everything would work out in the end.
With time, he would slowly learn his purpose, his task.
He would have his answers, or so he hoped.
The goddesses would never abandon him, never lie to him.
In them, he could trust.
... right?
