He let out a bit of a gasp as the thing hit him again. Oh... ow... OW. That really hurt. He grimaced angrily at the thing at that point, swinging his sword down again just as it crumbled to the ground in a heap.
Smashed.OOC  Name of character: Akakios (Fluffy) Damage done: 5x2 = 10 CURRENT HP OF BOSS: 0/100 (Ded!) Current HP: 28/90 Special ability: Queen's Chosen: You can choose three times every battle encounter to double your attack for that turn. This cannot be stacked with other x2 effects. The max attack power you can have is x2 the original damage you do. This can only be used on melee attack dice and not special weapon effects (under the special effect sign). The attack doubled caps at 20 damage (ie: if multiplied x2 I do 24 damage, it rounds to 20) Example: I roll for 12 damage. I choose to double my attack. I do 24 damage that turn. Sherry almost didn't notice it fall. Aki was one tough puppy. When the box broke, stuff spilled out, and Jake didn't hesitate picking up some of the spoils.
He turned to the others, a slight frown on his face.
"Thanks... I guess." He supposed if they weren't there, he would have been done in.

And then, as it was done he picked himself back up. A little battered from it, but still good. He gave Jake a look, hopeful he'd finally been accepted by receiving thianks. Yes. Yes perfect. EXCELLENT!
And then went to looking between the two. Sherry was going to confirm he was right, right?

It was dead. There were things to grab, so she did. "You're welcome," Sherry replied to Jake. "I think Aki did most of the work, so you should be thanking him." She smiled at the lad. "You are pretty good at this fighting business." Sherry was pleased to realize he was more than capable of holding his own. She'd worried about him a bit. These two had been, as far as she was concerned, her best friends before. It was good to see them both alive and strong. Warmed her heart and all that. She looked at Jake again. He'd said thanks like it was...she didn't know. Sighing, she found her thoughts going from battle triumph to... she didn't know. Why did it bother her so bad?
She should just ask him what he remembered. He knew her name after all, so he had to remember something. Teeth pressed against her lower lip in an old habit of consideration.
"Jake. Can I ask you about me? What can you remember?"

If by acceptance he met that he didn't try to kill him on sight or hate his guts, then yes, yes he accepted you Aki.
He only gave Sherry an exasperated look. He already said thanks. He wasn't going to say it again. But then she asked something else, and he frowned. What he remembered? He remembered someone... attacking her, and him...

He nodded at the words. He'd learned to manage. He even had two weapons now, in case he was afraid to get close. Though he tended to go with the sword. Close... felt natural.
Though he paused as she spoke to joke, once more looking between the two. What... they remembered? So now was not a good time to give Jake a hug at finally becoming a sort of friend with him? Or not a piece of slime on a rock at least? ...hmmn?
He peered curiously, then paused at the words that Jake spoke. Then stared briefly at the ground. Yes, he recalled a few things he'd have preferred to forget too. "Nah ahl memreh guhd." He stated, agreeing with Jake for once. It might be best to leave it. Even if he didn't know what it was.

She was fighting the urge to chew on her lip. Public and all. Jake didn't look happy about her question, and Aki... it seemed he knew how memories went, too. Sherry knew many of them were unpleasant. She had a few of those. "I...I know that. But I already remember some bad stuff. I just..." She paused, keenly aware of the fact that she was not alone with her thoughts for once. Not because Armagnac was in her head, but because... She looked at Jake, then at Aki. Something inside her wanted to stop right there and hush. Afraid of embarrassment or shame or something. The pain in her chest was too much. She couldn't ignore it. "I just... need to know."

Did she really? He frowned, looking at Aki. He had no idea what he had said, but had some idea, perhaps. But if she really wanted to know...
"Whatever happened when we were... just shadows, I don't think that's a reflection of our real relationship. I like you, sure, but I don't think we're anything more than friends."
And then he remembered getting mad at her, lashing out at her.
"Even now, I'm not sure if we still are, anymore."

She tried not to let it show. Not in front on him, not in front of Aki. Even if Jake were involved in this... he didn't need to know everything she felt. And Aki, well, it wasn't his burden. So she tried not to let it show when Jake's words hurt.
"Oh." She still wasn't sure what to make of their time as shadows. She'd just known that friends were good, and Jake...Kaje had been her favorite friend. (She liked you too, Aki. It was just a different type of favorite.) But then he'd gone and kissed her. It had been bittersweet, yes, but it had also made her realize so much. Not to mention her other memories. The box, the gift... She liked that memory. It was good. It also spoke of being more than friends.
But if he didn't remember it...
She wanted to cry. Which was silly, because they were memories and it shouldn't hurt. She had memories of wanting to cry, too. Memories that he was a part of. Those memories felt like this. This was heartache.
"Oh," she said again, trying to make it sound like she already knew that, like it didn't' surprise her or hurt her. Like it didn't matter. She didn't want to let them see how much it did matter.
There was affection in her mind. Not from her, but from Armagnac. Affection and comfort. It was warm but it did little for the pain.
"I guess you remember more than I do, then." Why did all her memories have to hurt? She waved her hand, trying to dismiss it all. "But that's all in the past, I suppose." Que the sad smile.

This was why he said that she didn't want to hear. Though she hadn't actually cried, he could see the pain on her face, that to her, it had meant something more. He remembered kissing her, and he regretted doing something like that, considering he wasn't sure of his own feelings. He wanted to be sure, but then those memories...
But then, what she said made him realize that those memories were just a part of a whole. Perhaps there were more, perhaps they did end up getting together. Just because he didn't remember didn't mean that it hadn't happened, and even now, who said it was wrong to create new memories? His fog self had done that, and now, even if he remembered a bit more, it wasn't everything. He hadn't remembered that girl who remembered him, so perhaps that was another memory that hadn't resurfaced yet. Perhaps here, there were memories about them that he hadn't remembered yet either.
"Not... necessarily." he started, not wanting her to cry. He was pretty sure that dog guy would probably kill him if she did.
"That might be all I remember, but I feel as if there's... more. Something I'm missing..."

Aki didn't have a lot to say, he wasn't sure how to put it. Or even fully get it. Lvoe to him, was merely that of friends and family. He'd never liked someone int he way Sherry was thinking, in they way they were discussing. Wasn't being just friends, and nothing more, good? Yet... if anything it felt like Sherry was hurting, her tone was so flat and empty compared to the usual.
Her posture as well... even if here were no tears on her face, even if she was forcing a smile. Anything looking could see something wasn't right. AT least if they'd seen her happy before. "Rehrse." He didn't know her true name, but honestly...
Maybe it was better to leave it, she seemed to be trying to dismiss it, right. It was true, maybe the past was best forgotten. Didn't that mean he could also forget the scenes of death he'd seen. Even it at times things were happy...he'd seen people dying in those memories. They'd told him he was good, but he'd also heard voices calling him a monster. Wasn't it better to let it go then and be happy with what was.
...or was saying that just bad too? He wasn't really sure and merely watched a moment, ears low before he reached out to pat her lightly on the arm. He just... didn't know how to make it better.GrnGriff uhg work sorry got busy so slooow...

Something he was missing? She nearly said told him 'yes' at that, but she was afraid. Her happy memories, bittersweet as they may be, were her precious ones, and she was afraid to share them now, lest they be taken from her or damaged in some way. She was not going to cry. If there was one thing that happened that day it was Sherry not crying. Aki's hand on her arm, such a simple and sweet show of affection and comfort almost sent her crying. Which would have been silly because that was not his intention. She looked at the pup, a sweet smile on her face. "I remembered my name is Sherry. You're free to call me Rhryse if you want, though. I have good memories of that name." She sighed. Good memories and bad. Just like before. "Though I suppose all that really matters is now." Raja No worries. I...should be sleeping.

It was a good thing Aki was there to comfort her, because he was doing a poor job of it. How could she have feelings for someone like him? He didn't understand.
That was what he had thought. But if they were important ones, how come he didn't remember it too? Were they not that important? Had she not meant that much to him? He didn't know.

Oh... both ears perked as she spoke up, nodding. Sherry? Then he'd call her that. He had a name too, one he remembered. Well... two. He wasn't entirely sure which was right. "Shehreh dehn." He nodded, briefly hoping to distract her, perhaps get her mind off the fact she was a bit upset. Even if it was important, dwelling on sadness too long didn't fix anything. Laying there and howling hadn't made Jesse whole again... so neither would tears?
Though perhaps this was different. But he did nod as she mentioned the here and now. They could still change the future to be something pleasant if they worked hard. He believed that much. "Yehs." Thankfully, it seemed Jake agreed. Perhaps that would help, at least to make it seem less hopeless? Maybe things could turn out how she desired still?
Not that he understood what she was hoping for.
