Midnight Swim
User Image
Dear Diary:

Well, I fought my first Peisio's last night.. Got jumped while I was swimming. They were.. easier? Somehow to fight than the Firani's.. maybe all that training really did help..
My Da also showed up, guess he was out looking for me again and this time he found me. He stole one of my dragon kills too! I've never fought alongside my Da before.. or seen him hunting really. Hes actually pretty good! Well, now I'm home and Fallon refuses to let me out of his sights! Guess I should have said something instead of just leaving a note... Oh well. I'm back, and it feels god to be home again.. Now all I need is a new wardrobe.. all my clothes are too ragged or small to fit anymore!

Aftermath: Gained 122.5 EXP +3 LUK EXP +3 Peisio Orbs

[META + Battle]Tides of War -- Part 1

Dear Diary:

That was so weird. Somehow each race managed to do something that cause another race to hate them and declare war.. The Dovaa hadn't chosen a side, they were their own side this time.. Then that strange messed up creature caused havoic and suddenly we were all working together... Not that I mind, it was better than war, but it was so random and strange.. Something was off...

aftermath: +6exp, +1 Diabi Dragon Orb, +1 Diabi Dragon Tear

Snow Storm

Dear Diary:

Well, that was fun. I got 2 Aiskala's on my first trip! Da was rather proud and Fallon played with the orbs quite a bit. I think the chill that emanated from them fascinates him. Since that was so successful, I think I'll stay home for a bit and train. I've gotten in a lot of battle practice lately, but I think my techniques are getting sloppy.

Aftermath: +80 EXP, +2 LUK, +2 Aislala Orbs

Dear Diary:

I met an adorable Ayrala Dovaa today! She looked like a butterfly... though she needs to work on her battle stance. It was too easy to sweep her legs out from under her... I can't believe I tripped in battle and landed on my face! Though it's rather funny now that I think back on it...

Dear Diary:

I ran into Eanah! And went shopping... she's a shopper like my mother! I just went in and grabbed what I needed... Lucky me they had a set of leathers that a warrior could use instead of only frilly girl things. Can you imagine me in a dress? Ikk!

Hunting in the Ice

The Hunts
Hunting in the Ice Part 1 and 2

Dear Diary:

I managed to defeat two more Aiksala's toady! Then I found an Oblivionite getting chased by these large shaggy beasts. I managed to hold them off and then he helped by shooting arrows till they left. Guess an archer really is weak once you get within arms reach of them!

Aftermath: part 1: Win v 2 Aiskalan +80 EXP.
part 2: Win vs Bykaldrta pack +40 exp

The man before her was a handsome Oblivionite, with a bear paw tattoo beneath one eye and a scar across the other. She dropped her mace and reached into a pocket on the inside of her jacket to grab a roll of bandage.

“Here, let me bandage your leg for you. Are you hurt anywhere else?” She asked as she looked at him hesitantly to see if he would accept her help. The Oblivionites she had met so far had mostly been nice and nothing like the rumors painted them. But this one could be different.

“Thanks for the help. And no, just the leg wound. I’d have gotten away if they hadn’t managed to get that bite in.” He sat back as Kadryn bent down and quickly wrapped his bleeding thigh with the bandage.
“Pre-warmed bandages, how nice.” He drawled with a quick grin. “I’m Kirosh, by the way.”

Kadryn blushed slightly, purple staining her cheeks. “I like the bandages to be warm… they keep the blood from freezing. I’m Kadryn. Um… I set up camp in a cave near here if you don’t have any place to go.” She wasn’t completely sure she wanted to spend the night in a cave with a stranger, but he was wounded and she wouldn’t abandon anyone in this dangerous place, especially if they were wounded.

Kirosh raised an eyebrow, “You’d let a strange Oblivionite man into your camp? You are either really trusting, too nice, or way too naïve… Not that I’m objecting mind you! But that’s not safe at all.”

Kadryn flashed him a grin. “Well, besides the fact that you’re wounded and an archer that I think I can beat in combat right now; I’m a nice trusting person. That and so far I haven’t really met an Oblivionite who’s tried to kill me. Some days I wonder if my people are being scammed with rumors of how bad you all are…”

Kirosh looked at her in silence for a bit, shocked. “You’ve never been attacked or threatened by an Oblivionite? What a lucky life you’ve lived.” Kadryn stood and offered him a hand up.

“Well, I do tend to go into the deep wilderness quite often so maybe I hunt in areas where the mean ones don’t go. Les go to my camp and get out of the cold. I hadn’t started cooking yet so you’re in luck.”

Kirosh chuckled as he accepted Kadryn’s hand up. “Saved by a pretty lass, treated nicely, then fed for free? Today must be my lucky day.” He joked as he bent down to retrieve his bow. Kadryn stuck her tongue out at him as she went to the dead bodies that littered the area about them and began to retrieve his arrows as well as grab some meat.

“You’re silly! You got chased and bit by those weird shaggy creatures, how is that lucky?”

“That wasn’t lucky, the rest was though. And those were Bykaldrta, the main predators after Dragons here on Aisko. Rather nasty when you met them in packs... Especially when you’re an archer and they get too close!”

Kadryn laughed and joined him as she helped him stagger to her camp. Someone saved and a new friend made! He seemed much more active and loud than the other Oblivionites she’d met.

Kirosh and his Question
User Image
Kadryn had woken up early today, a few hours before dawn. She quietly moved about, setting up the fire and preparing breakfast, doing her best to not wake up Kirosh, who lay across the fire from her.
It was about a week after she had first met him and he had yet to leave. Normally she preferred the silence and solitude when she was in the wilderness and while hunting, but he was different. He seemed to know when she just wanted to have silence and to quietly enjoy the scenery and sounds of Aisko. He also had a lively sense of humor, which was different than the other Oblivionites she had gotten to know. They had been much quieter and more reserved, Kirosh on the other hand. She smiled and shook her head. He had pulled quite a few pranks and told many jokes in the week they’d spent together. Kadryn had laughed more during that week than the past few months she was sure.
The bite from the Bykaldrta had nearly healed and Kadryn found herself wishing that it wouldn’t heal so fast. She was enjoying herself; she’d finally found someone who appreciated the wilderness and hunting the way that she did. In fact he seemed to love the wilderness more than she did. He may not have been able to see colors and light like she did, but he still found nature as beautiful as she did. He’d told her many tales of places he’d been, scenes he’d seen, animals he’d encountered. She found herself wishing she could have seen these scenes and regretted spending so much time hunting dragons down and not spending some time watching the land and seeing what was around her.

As she prepared the last of the prepared dough she’d brought with her, which was in no danger of going bad because of the ice cold conditions, she smiled as Kirosh stirred and muttered in his sleep. She’d also missed cooking and eating with another person. Eating with Kirosh made the food taste better. Instead of a silent meal, they spent it talking; comparing childhoods, trouble gotten into, and complaints about teachers. They often talked till they fell asleep. Kadryn hadn’t realized how much she missed having company with her. Smiling to herself, she finished kneading the dough, wrapped it in a cloth her mother had imbued with anti-fire spells and placed it directly in the fire. This cloth was special, it kept the bread from scorching and it allowed her to actually cook bread out in the wilderness, something she and Kirosh both appreciated. I guess that while I love being alone in the wild and hunting, what I really wanted was someone to share this world with, she thought to herself. Maybe that’s why I’m so happy right now…

Kirosh grumbled and rolled over, his eyelids cracked slightly. “Why’re you up so early…” he muttered.
Kadryn smiled brightly, “Dunno! Just woke up suddenly and didn’t feel like lazing about. Good morning!” She cheerfully spoke as she grabbed the last of the dried fruits and put them in the porridge she had going on the fire. Kirosh chuckled as he sat up and yawned. Kadryn blushed slightly and looked at the porridge as she stirred. Kirosh tended to sleep without a top on even though it was freezing, and Kadryn hadn’t quite gotten used to seeing a man’s chest yet. It made her feel… odd; excited and nervous at the same time. She didn’t quite understand it, but she did know that she didn’t mind the skin and muscles being shown…. Which just made her feel even more confused. She peeked at him as he slid his thick warm top on and ran his hands through his hair to get most of the snarls out. He was lucky, his hair didn’t knot as easily as her's did.

“Morning people! Why would anyone want to get out of a nice warm bed so early?” He cheerfully grumbled. He looked at her thoughtfully.
“Hmm. Kadryn, how do you feel about cities?” He asked suddenly. Kadryn gave him a confused look. Where had this come from?

“Don’t like them much, I guess. Too many people in too small a place, too much noise, smells, and sights all jumbled together. Though I do like the markets sometimes... those smell good… Why?”

“Hmm, just curious….” She raised an eyebrow at him and he grinned cheekily back at her as he stood up. “I’ll tell you in a bit. But while I’m out answering nature's call, think on what you’ve heard about the Wild Tribe. I’ve got a question for you about it.” He waved as he staggered out the cave into the cold.
Kadryn stared at the place he’d been. The Wild Tribe? Now this was odd! Hmm, what do I know of this? She thought on his words. Wild Tribe, a bunch of rowdy people who ran wild out in the wilderness and tended to get into trouble when they visited towns and villages.. that was about it.

“Gods! It’s ice cold out there!” Kirosh came rushing back in and promptly wrapped himself back up in his blankets. “Blasted cold! Makes so many things inconvenient…”

Kadryn giggled as she responded; “Eat some porridge, it’ll make you feel warmer.” She handed him a bowl and spoon. “About the Wild Tribe. From what my mother has said, it’s a bunch of hooligans who run rampant out in the wilderness and that it’s an Oblivionite group... dangerous and to be avoided. My father says that it’s a group of people who dislike laws and live out in the wild to escape rules and such. Founded by an Oblivionite but not limited to them… Other bits of gossip that I’ve heard about it are mostly how the members get into trouble in towns and cities. Why did you ask about it?”

“Well, I was wondering what things you may think about it before I talk about it,” Kiropsh said around a steaming mouthful. “I’m a member and while those rumors are somewhat true, it’s not completely true.” He paused to swallow and gather is thoughts. “It was founded by an Oblivionite who wanted to escape society and the laws that bound civilized people. He was sick of being thought of as only a weapon of war. He ended up gathering a bunch of like-minded people and over the years the Tribe has created a camp on every continent for people who can’t stand Society and its chains. Other goals were added in too: protect the wilderness, disrupt Civilization and bring a bit of wilderness into their lives, create a place for anyone and everyone who loves the wild to gather and not be judged. That’s basically it.” He nodded and concentrated on finishing his meal as Kadryn sat and thought on what he’d said. A place to escape society? For those who loved the wild? It sounded… nice. Like something she’d want to be a part of. Why had he asked this? Would she be able to join?
Kirosh sat watching her as she reached out and pulled out the bread, still thinking.

“Hmm, if it’s to protect the wild, how do they feel about hunting?”

“Hunting's fine so long as you don’t over hunt or take down a female with young. If you do that they want to try and raise the young or bring them to the camps so that someone else can raise them.” He smiled like he’d won something. But what had he won, Kadryn wondered.

“Alright, so why tell me about this?” She decided asking directly would be best. She'd discovered that Kirosh could and would talk in circles if you didn’t stop him…

“Cause I was wondering if you’d like to join. You fit the bill; a hunter who loves the wild, doesn’t like cities, that sort of thing. And you helped me when I was in trouble, someone who should have been your traditional enemy. And that’s one of the main things we want, people who have open minds and can accept others.” He gave her a big grin. “It’s not that hard to join, just gotta meet several tests, fulfill a task or quest. Fairly simple! And it’s not that bad living there! You get a pack animal to carry your stuff and can leave it with a clan… ah, that’s what we call each camp. Wild Tribe is the whole thing, and each Clan has a name, totem animal, and chief who looks after it to make sure everything’s okay. But, a... oh yeah. You can leave your stuff with a clan and they’ll look after it for you when you go out exploring or hunting. It’s a nice life, free from ties to the gods or people. Only thing you have to be tied to is a clan, which is like a large family. ” He paused and looked hopefully at Kadryn. “Would you like to join? We’re mostly Oblivinoites and Dovaa true, but there’s the odd Orderite in there too, so it’s not like you’ll be alone.”

Kadryn thought about it; it was so tempting, so very tempting. But what about those rumors of danger and trouble makers? No smoke without a fire… “I’m... very interested, but what about all those rumors of members being dangerous and troublesome?”

Kirosh looked slightly guilty and shifted. “Well... guess there’s some truth to it. We attract a lot of barbarians and archers who dislike rules and laws so when they enter a town or city they cause trouble.. Heck, some of the tasks given to entering members are to go and cause trouble or mischief in a town or city….Difficult and you usually get caught doing it... Fun though.” He ended his comment with a grin. Kadryn suspected he’d had that task... Probably enjoyed it a bit too much too, she thought with a smirk.

“But we aren’t all rowdy and crass people! We have the family members of people who make up the majority of the Clans. It’s like a traveling village that has all sorts of races and different people in it!” He gave her another hopeful look. Kadryn smiled and handed him a piece of the finished bread.
Of course I’ll join! It’s practically made for me, silly!” She chuckled at a thought that just occurred to her. “Can’t wait to see Ma’s face when I tell her about this!” Kirosh laughed at that. He’d heard a lot about Kadryn’s family and knew that her mother wouldn’t be too thrilled by this.
Well, I can take you to the Clan on Aisko today. I should probably head there anyways and tell them I’m okay. Since I was only supposed to be gone for about a day and I’ve been out for a week now….”

Meeting the Wild Tribe
User Image Kirosh and Kadryn were headed out from the cave where they had dwelled for the past week while waiting for Kirosh’s wound to heal. Since the Clan’s camp was only a few hours walk away, he should have been able to make it before this. But Aisko wasn’t a place for the wounded to wander about in, any weakness could and would mean death out here.

Walking quickly into the teeth of the icy wind, Kadryn kept close to Kirosh, ready to lend him a shoulder if he needed it. The wind howled and clouds began to gather, Kadryn was nervous. She’d weathered a few blizzards in her cave before, and she didn’t want to even think about trying to outlast it in the open. But Kirosh waded onwards, his eyes looking for signs that every clan left about the place to show members to their camp. He suddenly sighed in relief, and pointed out a rock to Kadryn.

“Obsidian! We’re only an hour out now. Every clan marks the area with stone that doesn’t belong to the local area. No volcanoes here, so they mark it with Obsidian.” Grinning now, he sped up, the tense set to his shoulders gone. He must have been more worried than I thought, Kadryn mused. Maybe he didn’t want to get caught out either.

The threatened snow storm hit just as they came upon the camp. She got a glimpse of large domes before they were whitened out by the snow. Kirosh grabbed her hand and booked it as the snow whitened the world about them, dampening all sound. All Kadryn was aware of was his warm hand on hers, and she shook her head to try and clear it. Foolishness! What is wrong with me? We’re out in a blizzard and all I can think of is him? Kirosh pulled her up next to him and shouted in her ear, “And we’re here! Just in time too!” He then quickly opened up a thick flap and staggered in, pulling Kadryn in after him.

Shaking his hood off and dropping her hand, he grinned at the startled faces of a group of Dovaa. “Ah, would you look at that; the chiefs tent, aren’t we lucky! Hey there guys, pardon the intrusion, but the blizzard blew us in!”

“Kirosh?” The large Aiskala Dovaa male in the back looked startled then happy. “Where have you been, boy? You said you would only be out briefly then never came back!” He boomed as he stood up and walked over to clasp arms with Kirosh. Looking over at Kadryn, he gave her a smile, “And who’s li’l lass? Aren’t you a little young to be here?”

Kirosh snorted in amusement and nodded at Kadryn to introduce herself. The rest of the group, two young adult female Dovaa, one older woman and one really young Dovaa boy, looked on with interest though they didn’t stop in their tasks.

“I’m Kadryn, and I’m certainly old enough to be here! Not my fault I’m small.” Kadryn shot back with a smile and offered her own hand to shake.

“Kadryn’s strong enough to be here, don’t worry. I got caught out by a pack of Bykaldtra and bitten before I could escape. She saw them chasing me and dropped down between them.” He grinned cheekily as he wandered into the tent, near the fire and sniffed the air, “Smells good, do I get fed too?” He asked the older woman with wide innocent eyes.. well, eye sockets anyways.

Kadryn snorted. “Chasing? It was more like they had caught you and were about to start the mauling! Don’t let his puppy face fool you, ma'm. We ate only a few hours ago and he had the last of the bread too, the fiend.”

The dovaas chuckled and the large male waved her further in. “Ha! That would happen to him. Fool boy always did stare at the scenery too much and let things sneak up on him. Though we’re glad you happened upon him when you did. I’m Drail by the way.” The littlest boy giggled. “You had to be rescued by a girl. What happened to all your bragging? I’m Yeson.” He said to Kadyrn. “You’re smaller than the girls Kirosh u—“

“Ah -ah!" Kirosh exclaimed as he grabbed the boy from behind and clamped a hand over his moth. “No filling her ears with evil gossip! Let her at least warm up some and get to know you all before you try to stain my sterling reputation!” The two younger girls smirked and looked at each other, then giggled. Kadryn had seen this happen before with girls in her village and it always confused her. What were they giggling about? And how could they know what the other person meant? All they did was raise an eyebrow…

The older woman chucked at that. “Welcome Kadryn; I’m Loresha, the chief of this clan. Thank you for helping Kirosh. You are welcome to stay with us till you wish to leave.” She smiled and Kadryn could sense great power from her. She was, Kadryn thought, a Firani Dovaa. The bright orange and red streaks in her hair and golden scales certainly did give her a fiery appearance. What better way to spend a blizzard than with a Fire Mage? She thought with a smile and nodded thanks to Loresha. She was stopped from saying anything by the two Giali Dovaa girls speaking up.

“I’m Opal and my sister’s Pearl. Come with us, we’ll get you some warm dry clothes. Good thing you’re so small! You should be able to fit into our old clothes.” They both giggled as they grabbed Kadryn’s hands and dragged her with them. Kadryn was taken aback by their enthusiasm and the sly looks they kept casting at her.
They dragged her into another smaller tent off from the main one and rummaged through several chests before coming up with a thick winter tunic and leggings. Handing them to her they dove back into the clothes chests, giggling about something.

“You can change right there, after you clothes dry we’ll store them in a different chest of your own.”

“Okay,” Kadryn looked about and dropped her mace and bag to the side and began to strip off the snow dampened clothes. Quickly putting on the dry clothes, Kadryn had to roll up the edges to make them fit. As it was, they were still a bit loose but that was fine. They were warm and comfortable, and that was what mattered. Shivering slightly, Kadryn was startled to see both of them staring at her.

“What?” She said crossly. They were certainly rude! Giggling to themselves all the time and staring!

They looked at each other before the taller one spoke, “Well, we’re just thinking how tiny you are!”

“You sure you’re able to be here? There are a lot of dangerous creatures out there.” The smaller one asked with wide eyes.

Kadryn stared at them and sighed. Why was it her size made people think she was weak? The other kids, when she’d been growing up, had all made that mistake. She reached into her bag and pulled out her Aiskala orbs. “I’ve been hunting my whole life. Size has nothing to do with my ability to fight.”

“Oh.” They looked at the orbs and then her. “Um.. sorry?”

Kadryn smiled, “Nah, it’s fine. I'm used to it happening. Is there any dry boots or something in my size here?”

The smaller one offered a smile as she handed over a set of fuzzy slippers. “Nope, but there’s these slippers that should be close enough.”

Kadryn, Opal, and Pearl walked back out to the main room where Kirosh was telling them about how he’d gotten ambushed and Kadryn had come in.

The young boy was rolling about on the ground laughing; Kirosh had told the tale in such a way to make him seem like the damsel in distress and Kadryn a knight rescuing him. Kadryn shook her head at him when he saw them and waved.
Loresha chuckled and shook her head. “You should be a bard with that silver tongue of yours! Ah Kadryn, Kirsoh mentioned you would be interested in join us?”

“Well, he told me about the Wild Tribe and it sounded like some place I could be happy. Though I’m not too sure about the bit about going into towns and cities and causing trouble…

Drail snickered and grinned, “This coming from the girl who went berserk in the Citadel itself!” The others in the tent looked in astonishment at her as Kadryn stared in shock at him.

“How’d you know that? And just cause I did it once doesn’t mean I like to cause trouble!

“I know cause I talk to other warriors. Gossip goes ‘round the world, girl. It’s amazing how willing people are to gossip! Apparently a small blue girl wielding a mace almost as big as herself got goaded into a rage while sparring.. .”

Yeson whistled. “Woah. In the Citadel itself? Man, that’s intense! Nice one!” Kadryn glared at him.

“There wasn’t anything nice about it. Trying to kill another person is nothing to laugh at!” She snapped angrily, her eyes narrowed and her fists clenched. “I am not happy with what I did nor do I ever want to be in that position again!” Kirosh stood up and walked over to her to put a hand on her arm.

“Whoa there, Kadyrn; Yeson didn’t mean anything by it. We have quite a bit of Berserkers in the Tribe and they tend to brag about how it feels and what they do when in a rage…”

Kadryn took a deep breath and calmed down.“I don’t like the thought of what I tried to do alright? I don’t mind the thrill of battle and all that, but I hate how when I go berserk everything becomes a target to smash and I can kill you without hesitation…” She muttered.

Loresha smiled at this, “And that’s what I wanted to hear. We have enough hot heads about the place. If you can keep that thought with you as you go about your life, then I have no qualms about letting you join. Kirosh can tell you the tasks. He’s rather good at gauging what a person can do and coming up with things to challenge them. And you, Drail, owe her an apology! You should not gossip so much and need to think about how the other people feel before you open your big mouth!” She glared at him. He looked embarrassed and glanced at Kadryn.

“I’m sorry lass. Berserkers usually don’t mind…ah heck. That’s an excuse. I just wanted to see how you’d react. My apologizes.”

Kadryn offered him a small unwilling smile, “Apology accepted, just don’t mention that again and we should be fine.”

Kirosh looked about and then nodded abruptly, “Now that that’s gout of the way, come help me get a tent set up Kadryn. This one’s too small for all of us! I’ll show you how to set a tent up from inside a tent.” He said as he dragged her off down yet another tunnel made up of tent.

Behind them, Opal looked at Drail.
“Wow, talk about putting your foot in your mouth!”

“Hey... you think they’ll share a tent?” Pearl said at the same time. The group looked at her. “What? Just asking; Kirosh usually doesn’t stick that close to a girl and offer to show her around like that… ”

“She’s totally not his usually type. Not tall or curvy at all.” Yesson piped in with a grin.

Opal sighed; “After Drail just got in trouble for gossip, you’re going to start gossiping, really?” Pearl and Yesson looked unperturbed until Loresha spoke up again.

“Get to know her before you even think about spreading rumors. She seems a little sensitive about certain things and I’d hate to see you hurt if you piss her off. She can probably take all three of you on…. Drail would win, but against you three?” She cocked an eyebrow at the group of young Dovaas. “You’d be a smear on the floor. Her mace shows signs of great use and she carries herself confidently and moves like a warrior. She may be small but she is dangerous. Don’t forget that…. And now it’s time for lunch, go get plates and forks.”

Meanwhile Kadryn and Kirosh were about finished setting up the tent. Kadryn had never seen someone set up a tent from inside another tent in the middle of a blizzard and she was impressed. He’d basically prepared the tent and set it up inside then pushed it through a specially made cut in the tunnel tent’s wall.

“There we go, all set. Now to go fill it with my stuff!” Kirosh looked over at Kadryn, “You can stay here till we leave. Tents belong to members only otherwise I’d set you up with your own tent. Wait here for a bit.” He went off down the tunnel yet again humming, leaving Kadryn behind to go and sit in the tent. It was chilly so she set her bag and slightly damp clothes off to the side and grabbed the brazier from her bag and set it up in the center.

She thought on what had just happened. Why did I go off like that? I thought I got over the whole Berserk thing? Maybe because it was he assumed that I wanted to be berserk all the time and enjoyed the destruction… She sighed; well I do enjoy the feelings of wildness and some of the destruction, but not against people! I don’t like the willingness to slaughter anyone while I’m in a rage!
Kirosh walked in with a huge armload of stuff and was followed by a small Ferakat.

“Ah, thanks, you got something to warm this place up! Don’t take to heart what Drail said, Kadryn. He likes to push buttons and see how far he can go to get a reaction out of people. It’s why he’s in the Chief’s tent. Other people always kick him out after a month or two. I don’t mind him, but then I’ve never lived with him so.” Kirosh shrugged as he dumped his stuff near the entrance and began to pull out thick rugs. Kadryn went over to help him and they began to set the place up with rugs, large pillows, and a low table for eating.

“You don’t mind that I went berserk and never told you?” Kadryn asked him, it was nice what he’d said, but she had to know. Kirosh looked over at her and smiled before launching a pillow at her.

“Almost everyone in the Tribe has something bad in their past they don’t like to think of. Our world is full of pain and war and we come to the wild to escape that. If you don’t want to tell me, then don’t. I certainly haven’t told you some stuff! ’Sides, what happened in the past doesn’t matter too much. It’s how you act now and in the future that matters.”

Kadryn caught the pillow and smiled with relief. “Thanks Kirosh. Um, Lerosha said something about you giving me my tasks?”

“I’m thinking on it! I’ve got some ideas but I need to think a bit longer… why does Chief always land these on me? Oh well, where ever it is, it’s going to be some place warm! I’m headed out from AIsko!”

Kadryn looked at him, “Wait, you’re coming too?” Her heart, the silly traitor, skipped a beat.

Kirosh looked over at her with an eyebrow raised, “Of course! The task master is required to go along to see what happens! Why, you don’t want me to come along?” He pouted at her.

Kadryn giggled and shook her head, “Not that! I just didn’t think you’d want to go traveling with someone you just met a week ago…. Besides, aren’t these people like family or something?”

Kirosh waved a hand languidly, “Oh, they’re friends and I do enjoy their company, but I’ve been on Aisko for over a year now! I’m tired of the snow and cold! And I don’t mind traveling with strangers, I’ve certainly done it often enough! How else am I supposed to get to know you if I don’t travel with you?” He grinned at her and sat proudly on a large pillow and lounged back. “There, a comfy home to live in for now!”

Kadryn looked about as she too settled down on a pillow. “Well, it certainly is comfortable… though I have to question your sense of color!” There was no color scheme at all, and it seemed he’d chosen rugs based on how thick and comfy without thinking of how they’d look together. Quite often the patterns and color clashed. Kirosh looked offended and began to throw pillows at her. Kadryn laughed and responded, all potential glom dispersed by Kiorsh and his odd antics.

The 3 Tasks
Quote:

To join the Wild Tribe Kadryn needs to complete her 3 tasks:
Task 1: In the forests of Soudul there is a special glade where Notbajaovin congregate. There is a special plant that grows only in this glade. Kadryn is to get one of the flowers without killing anything. She must find the glade on her own.
Task 2: Deep within the misted Valleys of Ay lies a maze. The maze itself is natural, but over the many years that the Wild Tribe has lived there, they have trapped it and created new and strange things to confuse people. Kadryn is to find her way to the center of the maze and pick up a Totem from the small shrine that the Wild Tribe maintains there.
Task 3: She has proven she can take on the Aisko Dragons, so now she needs to take on a Gaili and win. Kirosh will be watching to help her just in case she needs it and to see if she can win on her own.

The tasks will be given to her here, though they will be completed elsewhere.

Kadryn sat on the small boat as it was gently let down into the dark ocean. She had managed to find an old sailor who knew of Smuggler's Bay and had directed her to a boat that would take her there. She wondered why the old man hadn't told her anything until she'd told him she was to meet a Wild Tribe member there to get her tasks. It sounded really illegal... and apparently the Wild Tribe was neck deep in it. She'd have to ask Kirosh about it once she found him again.

It was night, a little after the moon had set and there was no light other than the dinky amount put out by the glittering stars above. She was told to not fly off and just stay in the boat until they landed. She had no idea why they were being so secretive, but if it made them happy. She gave an internal shrug and turned back to enjoying the night air. The rowers were all Orderites, and seemed like they knew what they were doing. How often have they done this? She wondered, and what are they smuggling? She couldn’t think of any other reason that a ship would unload cargo and people like this to a place called Smuggler’s Bay if they weren’t smuggling.

At last they pulled up to a small hidden inlet and the rowers quickly pushed the boat towards a large willow tree. Waiting there was a single Oblivionite who signaled for them to pull over. Kadryn say the Oblivionite point and her and do a weird gesture to which the leader of the rowers responded with other gestures. Neat, she thought, and quite smart. Sound would give them away, so they made up a silent way to communicate. Kadryn waited till the lead rower gestured for her to leave the boat and they started to unpack everything. Once the small boat was emptied, a bag that clinked exchanged hands and the smugglers rowed off into the darkness. Kadryn watched them go and then turned to face the Oblivionite, silently waiting to see what, if anything would happen. The two stared at each other for a while till the stranger shrugged and gestured for her to stand off to the side. She sat down on a rock to watch what would happen. At a soft whistle, the area was suddenly busy with silent Oblivionite’s grabbing the packages and carrying them of into the darkness. The first Obliviiniote must be a leader, she thought to herself, suddenly waved his hand to call Kadryn over. Walking over to him, he then led her off in a different direction than the packages, Kadryn followed, curious as to where she was being lead. There was a possibility of her being led to her death, but she felt confident enough to defend herself should that happen. Eventually, they reached an outcrop that had a cave entrance.

“Smuggler’s Bay is in there. I suggest you find whoever you are meeting quickly; strangers, especially female Orderites, are easy marks and many will turn a blind eye to anything that happens to you.” With that cryptic phrase, he vanished back into the wild forest around them. Kadryn turned and went into the cave; easy mark? She would show anyone who tried anything that small females weren’t easy marks!
As she emerged from the tunnel she saw a small city spread out in front of her. It was a city inside of a cave! The cave was huge in width though small in height. It’s wide spread met with the ocean at one end; in fact, there were some piers with small row boats tied to them that she could see! It was a hidden city, perfect for hiding from the public’s eye… No wonder they call it Smuggler’s bay! And she could see many different types of people here: none of whom looked like push overs. I guess that’s what the guide was warning me about. I can handle myself though! Only problem is finding Kirosh… Kadryn looked out over the small city, where would Kirosh be hiding in here? Before she could head out, a heavy hand landed on her shoulder.
“What’s this, a little girl seems to have wandered in!” A deep and husky voice spoke. Turning her head, Kadryn looked up at the tall and broad Dovaa man. She didn’t like the look on his face nor the scent of alcohol on his breath. Her hands moved quickly, unlatching her mace and swinging it up to land on her shoulder.
“Just because I’m small does not imply I’m a child.” She said mildly, the huge spiked mace on her shoulder glittering in the dim light. “Would you know where I can find a Wild Tribe member called Kirosh? Or the Wild Tribe at all?” She figured she’d ask… maybe the guy would answer! She sighed inwardly as she saw his face twist into a scowl. Nope.. not happening….

“Hey, TWERP, you--...” He didn’t get any further as his hand began to roughly turn her around. Kadryn spun on the balls of her feet and let her mace swing out gently, stopping it right before the spikes pierced his face.

“If you don’t know, just say so!” She said brightly, her eyes glittering with the promise of bloodshed should he consider continuing. “Otherwise, I’d rather not talk with drunken idiots.” She saw out of the corner of her eyes some of the passerby’s looking and smirking... plus a Kirosh trotting up.
Turning around she pointed her mace at him.

“You, mister, are in a world of trouble! What type of person tells another to meet at some place no one talks about?” She growled at him with a smile. Kirosh gave her a grin and a shrug.

“Well.. guess I’m too used to others knowing about this place! But for someone who gets lost so easily you made it!” Kadryn snorted and put her mace away, stalking towards Kirosh.

“Next time I ride in a boat with you, you’re getting dunked!” She threatened with a smile. Kirosh smirked and put his hands into his coat pockets.

“I’m certain I can out maneuver you, so be careful, you may end up in the water! So, I finally figured out what to test you with.” Kirosh lead her down to a small building where his Hastars were tied to a post outside. “Come in, here’s the main outfitting post for the Wild Tribe. We buy stuff here and send it to the clans elsewhere. I’ll tell you over some food.”

Over the meal, Kadryn and Kirosh chatted. She was introduced to some of the other members and finally found out what she was to do.
Defeat a Gaili on her own, which shouldn’t be too difficult she thought.
Find a special flower in a certain glade where the Notbajaovin congregate in the forests of Soudul. She thought that this would be difficult, since she was to track the Notbajaovin without killing any. Difficult, but doable!

And last was too go to a naturally made maze in Ayr that the Wild tribe has been changing and trapping and get to the center somehow and retrieve a totem. This, in Kadryn’s mind, would be the most difficult. She knew she had problems with direction, so a maze was practically her worst enemy! And since he said it was trapped, I bet I can’t fly there… She stole the last meat chunk from Kirosh’s plate.
“A maze? Of all the evil things you could think of, you had to choose a maze?” She sighed and shook her head as Kirosh glared at her as she ate his food. “I ought to blindfold you and drag you along through the maze as punishment….”
