Short Summary of their plotline: Ahote rescues a fellow stallion from a vicious Draconian mare, and his wing is severely injured in the process. (Characters.)
Meanwhile: Cheer encounters a healer (Characters,) who make a standing offer to help out whenever needed and shares her travel-path with the mare. The healer is a half-Uni mare (Her body is not meant to be a vessel for such ethereal blessings, her blood less pure. Mending even minor scratches leaves her somewhat fatigued... the strain of larger efforts could render her helpless for many moons. Even with this foreboding knowledge, she would not hesitate to sacrifice her own safety to lend aid to one in need.)
Later: Cheer encounters Ahote, still battered and bloody, and zooms off to find the healer. Together the mares press the stallion into accepting minor healing, though when he sees the Uni mare start to weaken he tears himself away before she can damage herself and attempts to escape. Cha'tima, a local groundhog, chatters away and somehow Cheer understands that the little creature will stay with the Healer while Cheer goes after Ahote. (The groundhog will later become Cheer's familiar. heart )
Annnd then a long and arduous courtship in which Cheer nuzzles her way into Ahote's stubborn heart begins. A long... long... "courtship.

What are their Parents Personalities?
Mother:
The fifth and youngest child of loving parents Connor and Persephone.
Elder siblings Kian, Kailey, and Kaie were from the pair's first breeding; sibling Cedric was from the same term.
Tends towards moments of pensive silence, intermittent with sudden outbursts of lively enthusiasm. Can be extremely cheerful and lighten the mood considerably, or wallow in silent contemplation.
This intriguing filly has been known to halt mid-sentence, tilt her head as though listening to voices no-one else can hear, and wander off... only to bounce back a few moments later, picking up right where she left off. On a rare occasion, she doesn't come back at all... returning instead to her family at twilight, as if some internal survival mechanism acts to keep her away from the night's ill-wishers.
Although she adores her family and would never purposefully cause them any grievances, her... wanderings... do cause them considerable dismay.
Her brothers Kian and Kaie often orchestrate "shadow-walks" for her, taking turns trailing after her to lend aid if needed without letting their presence be known. They intend to keep her safe from harm; they do not wish to intrude on her freedom, and so after consulting with their father they decided this would be the best option. Persephone's familiar Deirdre accompanies whichever colt is "shadow-walking" to serve as a messenger should any trouble arise.
Father:
Ahote has been alone for a long... long time.
He's essentially a hermit, always on the move, never staying in one place for any length of time- he feels most free when flying, at altitudes most Soquili can never hope to reach. (His large size and thick coat allow him increased tolerance to colder climates; he often sticks to mountainous regions due to their seclusion and preferential atmosphere.)
He is a stallion of few words. Those he utters are thoughtful, provocative... indicative of a deeper understanding of life's mysteries than one would first assume him to be. He does not show everyone this side of him; often he is percieved as a dull loner, and he does not mind this- it keeps distortion and deception away.
He sees no reason to conform to society's etiquette- why utter flowery, meaningless phrases (even outright lies) in the hopes of capturing another's attention?
He is kind at heart, and could not turn away from a creature in need. (He waits for true need to appear, seeking neither to help those who are not in need of assistance nor create a situation in which he may serve as a savior- he doesn't do it to feel any better about himself; in truth, he often withdraws in quiet contemplation after a confrontation, brooding over the state of the world.) His altruism leads him to confrontation for the sake of other's that he would avoid were it only for his own well-being. Though he may help out when needed, he slips away after the deed is done, preferring to leave before the would-be-victim can look to him for anything other than safety.
If pressed, he may admit that he is merely seeking to avoid attachment, disappointment, abandonment - what if that sweet mare's simpering mannerisms are naught but a veneer for a spiteful hellion? What if he turns out to be not what they need, not what they're looking for- and he is left alone again, forsaken, sore and aching from a broken heart?
... why open up if it leads only to suffering?
He has never let anyone close enough to feel anything but passing duty.
His strict code of honor sets him apart from many frivolous stallions. Eternally loyal, if his friendship/affections are won, he would never turn away.
This may lead him, in time, to become attached beyond the extent of his companion's affections. Only, only, if he allows himself to see her as she is.

Mother: No.
Father: No (he wouldn't accept gifts for his help, or any other sort of payment.)

What is their family dynamics? The behemoth stallion is gentle with small creatures, unending kindness and tenderness (expressed subtly, unlike his mate's straightforward adoration) matched by the cheerful mare who gave him someone to call Home. Bliss at its finest. heart
Traditions: Cheer nibbles at Ahote's feathers and nuzzles into his hair. The stoic stallion takes this passively, but eventually it begins to warm his heart.
Cheer is vocal about her romantic feelings, Ahote communicates primarily through softened expressions and gentle gestures.
Herd/Family culture: No herd for either.
Cheer's parents and siblings are extremely close, but her distant relatives (yes, grandparents are distant...) don't have that kind of relationship.
Religious Beliefs: Consider them both spiritual and open-minded. No dieties/icons!
