Short Summary of their plotline: It's hard to say what the future holds for this family. Kagali and Betula's relationship is more than just a partnership based off of shared interests. they love each other and have lifemated. But there is one factor that hangs over the mother's head. a secret that she hasn't told anyone, not even Betula, and she probably won't tell him till its too late. Her pure-Kalona father didn't pass many traits onto her, just her eyes and sense of smell and hearing. However, that doesn't mean that she won't pass the traits onto her children.

What are their Parents Personalities?
Mother: Kagali is not one to be trifled with. she has skills and knows how to use them. she hides in forests stalking people and listening to anything that there is to hear. if you want to know something then she is your mare, but good luck finding her. you dont find her, she finds you. it would take the keenest of eyes and the best of tracking skills to hunt her down. her cerynei blood makes her flighty and almost impossible to catch, were as her kalona blood gives her incredible sight and hearing. sneaking up on her is like sneaking up on a snake that already knows you are there. if you do ever manage to talk to her you will find that she is blunt and snappy. kagali is not the kind to make friends. she is strictly business.
Father: He is secretive, a Soq of very few words, rather expressive in his body and movements, but not so much in words. He always has this air of secrecy around him as if he knows something that you don't but you aren't about to find out what it is, as just a single glance at his face would reveal that his information is staying exactly where it is, unless he should find you worthy of it. Not that he thinks he's better than anyone else, in fact he is very modest! But he does not think that his secrets should be any one else's burden to carry.
He is in fact quite a small specimen, slender and quite light even for a cerynei. And though many could see him as cold and uncaring (because he usually will try to keep from becoming friends, or two close to just anyone), should someone break his barrier and become close with him, he may begin to show that his insides are as warm and fuzzy as that feeling of eating a sweet berry on the warmest summer day, but no one should expect to be able to do this without months of work at it.
He has taken upon himself the task of being a Secret-Keeper. A heavy task, he knows, but should anyone be seeking someone to share their secret with, he will help carry their burden. From who's fathered a certain foal, to who plotted out the latest herd coup, he knows some of the darkest secrets in the Kawani lands.

Short Summary of their plotline: Calixte and Kenton met shortly after she came to the Kawani Lands from Greece. Having just resolved that the mate she had come to find was long gone, Cali was more focused on trying to find a new home rather than rebounding - she and Kenton became good friends with foal-like tendencies. After an episode of a dehydration attack, Cali asked to travel with Kenton for the sake of her wellfare, and he agreed to the idea. Setting off, they began a small herd with Kenton's grown son. Soon, the herd became huge, but lacked a certain cheerfulness... All the foals had grown. Cali, bored with herself and growing more and more aware of the stern attitude of the herd, took it upon herself to have foals to brighten the mood. As she felt a bit awkward with their biological father, she asked Kenton to step in as their foster-father. He agreed, the children were born, etc. -> happy ending.... for now. Skinwalkers later terrorize the herd and prey on the children. >.>

What are their Parents Personalities?
Mother: Calixte has a loving soul and a fierce heart. Always full of reverence for nature, she protects her forest, family, and friends with the deepest of sincerities. She can be a bit awkward from time to time, but generally fights it off to the best of her ability. She's extremely formal around people she's not familiar with, and loves to instill the love of nature in others.
Father: Kenton is very proud of his Pre Cerynei blood. his years of training have made him strong, yet humble. he is a gentleman and would never think it right to harm another unless it was absolutely necessary. he is best described as a Gentle Giant. he finds that females make the best company and loves to talk to them. he is quick to forgive and never lingers long on the bad things in life.

Mother: Calixte is the Mistress of Ceremonies in her herd - she performs lifematings, coming-of-age ceremonies, etc. She's also somewhat of a teacher, knowing the language of the trees as well as wind-dancing, something she brought with her from her native land.
Father: Protector and supervisor of the Cerynei Herd, Kenton keeps his eye on all the patrols and organizes scouting trips. He also teaches self-defense classes from time to time, and gives impromptu safety lectures to his foster-children.

[An Unexpected Secret] - Fussing about keeping her pregnancy a secret, Cali meets Kenton on his way back from a patrol. She ends up telling him everything, and he supports her decision the way any best friend would. Things take a bit of a happier turn when their conversation turns to little declarations of love and he agrees to be the babies' foster father. (Cue foal-like tendencies.)
[Tip of the Iceberg] - Preceeded by a big time gap. Calixte and Kenton have raised their little boy and little girl as Faye has watched from a short distance. Now on the cusp of being 'tween's, the foals have gotten a lecture on safety from Kenton. However, Enaran runs off into the woods and is attacked by a skinwalker foal. His sister races to protect him, and their parents are not far behind.

What is their family dynamics? Babies will be raised for the most part by their loving parents, with some babysitting by the herd. However, Cali's eyes will always be on them, as she would hate for them to get anywhere near the skinwalker clan that the herd has a rivalry with. So... They would be very protected, very sheltered babies - much more so than their older siblings, Tinuviel and Enaran. There aren't any grandparents to spend time with, though Cali will probably tell them that the trees are her parents, and Kenton will probably tell them about his parents from the original Cerynei Herd. Trovin is one of Kenton's older sons, who will probably delight in playing with little half-siblings. <3 Also, Uncle Faye. =P

Traditions: Games of tag-hide-and-go-seek are huge between Cali and Kenton, and are kind of a remnant from their friendship. They would play it to pass the time between finding Cerynei as they traveled. Cali also brought wind-dancing with her from Greece, and would love to teach it to the rest of her children. (She can hear windstorms coming through the trees' 'gossip line', and goes out to dance in them.)
Herd/Family culture: The Cerynei Herd is extremely family-oriented, and takes shelter among the trees when danger threatens. Cali has put a lot of emphasis on being nature-friendly to the Cerynei they have met, and the herd continues to thrive that way. They migrate to the plains once in a while, where the grass is thick and green in every season. Along the way, stories are told and songs sung.
Religious Beliefs: Having come from the original Cerynei land, the legend of the Cerynei coming from the trees has a strong hold over the bunch of them. The story especially resonates with Cali, strengthening her belief that the trees created her and brought her into the world. In makes her feel akin to the Cerynei in the Kawani Lands.

Short Summary of their plotline: Having wandered the plains for his entire childhood, Niall always wanted to fly. Orphaned at a young age, he never knew his parents, but somehow could always imagine them soaring through the clouds above. Shortly after realizing this, he ran into Destati (whose name means 'destiny') and saw the wing markings on her back. Short Summary of their plotline: Arthur and Aalun were from rival herds, and were betrothed to each other but their parents to bridge the gap. Arthur panicked before the ceremony that would bind him to then barely grown Aalun, and ran off. Its been years since then, and the two are now realizing just how made for each other they are.

What are their Parents Personalities?
Mother: Aalun is very devoted to Arthur, whether he sees it or not. She's always been in love with him, and has always been able to picture herself raising a herd full of little ones just like him. She's not all sweetness and light though. She's got a temper, and knows how to use the horns she wears. She'll always fight to protect the ones she loves.
Father: Arthur is laid back and sort of a fool. He always wants to play the hero, which can lead him into trouble. He'd be a devoted but pretty clueless father, never having thought he'd ever have little ones of his own.

Mother: Warhorse, trained to use the horns she wears. Her herd is prized for their agility and speed.
Father: Warhorse. His herd is prized for endurance and size.

What is their family dynamics? Arthur and Aalun would raise the foals together. Its to far to go back home at this point, and would consider starting a battle college to pass on the traditions of their families to train their own young, and any who wished to learn.

Traditions: Arthur has a tendency to treat Aalun like one of the guys. It annoys her, but she deals with it. As long as he remembers once in awhile that she's a mare.

What are their Parents Personalities?
Mother: Windsor hates males with an unbridled passion. Not like the Harpies, who think they are inferior - Windsor hates them. She grew up in the opposite of the Harpy herd - a strict patriarchy. She was beaten up and tossed around from the day she was born for daring to be female instead of male. This has lead to a passionate hatred of males - especially larger ones. She's grudgingly tolerant of any male smaller than her, or grounded, but Kalona's, Wind's, or any male larger than her is a target.

In reality, it's because she's afraid. Hidden beneath the cuffs on her ankles and the joins on her wings are horrible scars, because her first escape attempt was foiled and she was tied down. Maidenhead's mother chewed her free, and Windsor looks after the mouse as her own. Windsor is terrified of males, and this causes her to lash out at them.

To females she's polite and gentlemanly, kind to the extreme. She's also in a romantic relationship with Chelinka a female Usdia. She does want children very badly, and has managed to trick Julius into siring her foals.

Father: Julius leads a double life. He plays the role of the clocksmith, a gloomy character who roams the Soquili lands on his own in search of things to fix. Though he is not a social stallion he will fix any broken items brought to him as long as their owners do not pry too much into his work and life. He is no-nonsense and doesn't like to waste time with idle chatter. Although he portrays a harsh exterior he does have a softness inside. He is fascinated by soquili with unique qualities and may easily fall in love with them but will keep his feelings to himself.

Julius also secretly plays the role of the mortician. Passed onto him from his father Julius works to help the dead pass onto their next life. He believes the only way a Soquili can pass on is by having a mortician like himself perform the rights for them. If these rights are not performed he believes the dead will be trapped as ghosts. He feels this is a very dangerous job as he works closely with death and this makes him fearful to get close to others. He tries to keep this part of his life secret from anyone who does manage to become part of his life.
