The lights in the Library began to flicker, at first it just acted as if like the power was having problems. But the flickering started to get more and more intense, soon after the P.A. was heard turning on, all around the school, that initiating beep could be heard. It couldn't be good news. 'Students, Be on Guard, There is an unknown threat on the campus we repeat be on gu-' The P.A. was cut off and all the lights went dark in the library. It was silent for a few seconds until a loud, high, pitch screech was heard! The glass cracking, some even shattering to this. From the ceiling, something dropped to the center of the library, it was too dark to see it's body since his dark skin blended perfectly with the dark, except it's eyes. In the dark, all that was seen on the creature was two bright red eyes, which helped indicate it's height. The creature was about 9 feet tall, and thats not including the tail.
Vertigo scanned the area for power sources for him to feed off and absorb. He could see faint sources coming from all the students except for a few here and there that had more power then the others. It was decided, his targets were Adelia, Ray, and six. Fortunately, his first two targets were next to each other, six on the other hand was a bit further away and Vertigo couldn't risk missing the first two. "Con-con-con-sume....p-p-power!" It yelled out with a unhuman voice followed by that ear shattering screech. Without a second left, vertigo sped towards the two girls, jumping and scaling over any obstacle in the way like bookcases and such. In mere seconds he reached the two girl and swung his razor sharp tail in a sweep to try and hit both girls.

Just as the situation Adelia and Ray found themselves seemed not to be getting anywhere, a strange announcement played over the loudspeaker waring of some sort of threat on the campus. 'Could that be the man we saw earlier?' she thought as she looked around to see if anyone else had really taken notice.
As Adelia was thinking on this, the announcement was cut off, causing the young angel to jump. "Wha-" she started to speak, but was cut off when the lights went out. She held her voice back long enough for a silence that could not only be heard, but felt to penetrate her entire being. Then a scream of a pitch that was similar to the last time Delia had been on a rollercoaster replaced that silence as glass breaking followed. Adelia was struck with fear. She had long thought that there couldn't be anything worse than dying by the hands of those drunk boys, but she was more terrified of the situation she found herslef in now than Death!
"Ray...you wouldn't happen to know what the hell is going on with this?" she said, trying unsuccessfully to keep her fear to a minimum in her voice. All she could see was eyes that appeared to float several feet off the ground. She wanted to run, yet she wanted to stay. It was her last night all over again.
Adelia nearly fell after something hit her ankles, but her wings kicked in. She had never felt so scarred, but she had never fought something like this before. The angel let out a small curse as she realized that she had left her scythe in the dorrm. She had only done so, since she didn't expect to be attacked in a library! This meant she had to rely on her powers, something she wasn't quite used to yet. She tried to make some sort of a light, even if it was as small as a speck of dust, but nothing happened.
{She's such a good little angel, swearing and talking about hell XD}

Ray searched her brain for something, anything to the reason she was feeling that way. Not seemed to be coming to mind as she stood there studying intensely where the man had been. It was something about the color or his coat. It was familiar, something from her past. Ray missed what Adeila said about the feather, the siren and lights brought her back and she looked around alarmed.
"I have no idea......" Ray said, looking around as the lights died. Ray's instincts kicking in as the the silence gripped the air around the two. She didn't like this at all. Where was Graves when she needed him. The shattered glass and scream causing Ray to start up a kind of strange noise in response. The noise sounded as though a hundred trees were breaking, although the other creatures scream had basically over came her voice. The red eyes of the creature, towering over the two of them caused her night vision to try and see what the creature looked like. Only a barely visible basic shape was what Ray could make out from the creature, other than it's eyes. The foreboding shape caused Ray to be overly defensive. "I.....Haven't.....A.......Clue....." She said in a strained and harsh voice, trying not to sound like the animal she was. The figure bearing down and the fact she was without wings wasn't helping her from be more like a Tengu.
The scream and sudden loud noise caused Ray began to back away. A searing pain ripped threw the left side of Ray's chest as it's tail hit her. Ray hissed at the sensation. The cut wasn't to deep, but it was painful. Ray quickly pulled out her wakizashi from inside her hakama. She didn't want to run around campus without it. Adelia seemed to be trying to do something, but wasn't working. "Delia...do you want....a weapon" Ray was fully prepared to give up her sword for Adelia, if she needed it.
Six had been about to leave the area, when he heard the scream and shattering glass. But it wasn't the loudest scream that caught his attention. His face splitting smile appeared. Quickly he reached in to his shirt and pulled out his necklace. Six attached the feather to his necklace and replaced it, while throwing his jacket into a pile on the floor with his small messenger bag. Six growled excitedly. "Let's go see what's up, Pantera..." He said, hiding his smile, as Six felt his sword vibrate under his hand. Within a blink of an eye Six had made his way in to the library and was situated in the back of the library, almost waiting for an opening. 'Who would of thought that this school would be this exciting.' Six thought trying to control his other side.
This strange thing seemed interested in the two girls. It's strength comes from something.... possible goals: unknown.... Six raised his eyebrows at it voice what it wanted inhuman......goal: only pure power.....it's fast. Thought as he followed a darker mass in the darkness as it went after them. 'Why and what is it swinging?' The resounding hiss from the normal looking girl told him almost everything he needed. "Something sharp.... copper, blood...he hit her good....The Angel appears to be trying to do something........can't tell what she is doing nor what the other female is doing....." This was Six's world, what made him a hunter. This was what he was created for, to take down creatures. He could figure things out, just by watching them for a good few minutes. Sadly he knew that he didn't have the full half hour or so to study them. If anything, it would be two minutes at the most, before he would get involved, his choice or not. Six for now would gather all the information he could get, and try and figure out which, if either, made that heavenly noise. It's the only noise that a Tengu make when they fear for their lives. A small smirk coming to Six's face.
(hehehehehe yeah, the most saintly angel i've meet. While Six become super creepy 0.0)

zephel693 Derra gave a smirk at the anticipated reaction. He had to contain himself though by her question. Most people would take it the wrong way but he knew what she meant. " Well, I'm not much of a fantasy reader but..." He walked over to the end of the aisle and pointed at some shelves. " This are the most checked out fantasy books. They set em up here since most students find these books the best to read." He told her with a smile. In his head though, all he was thinking about was of how to go about drawing blood from this girl, and a good amount as well. " Are you new here?" He asked her.
"And yes I am new here, I tend to keep getting myself a bit lost. Think the library is the first actual place I've been able to find myself..."
Her ears started to move more her head turned a bit.
"You hear something?"

Adelia could tell that Ray was still close to her. A good thing with the fact that she was scarred out of her mind. Who wouldn't be? An unknown being trying to attack someone just doesn't happen everyday. She came back down to the ground. "Not right now. I've been wanting to try out my magic. So far, not much, but I haven't tried anything offensive yet," she said, trying to figure out where exactly the creature was.
Delia's ears prickled at the sound of Ray's hiss. "Are you alright? I could heal that if you want, I know I'm good at that," she said, somehow managing a weak laugh. She thought it odd to have some humor still.
I wonder... the angel thought to herself. Whatever hit her came from the side of her, therefore, that would be the creature's most probable location. She felt energy surge through her body and to her hands, choosing to release it as a bolt of fire. She had no idea if it had hit the creature or not. "Well, that was a start," she said more to herself more than anything.

Vertigo could sense it, the power from several other students that appeared, just as it had hoped. Six, who was leaving, turned around and now had his attention on Vertigo, two others that were nearby also seemed to be alarmed. It was perfect. The beady glowing red eyes looked around, it could see the aura of each of the students, a color representing who they were and such, two he could see were dark. Not his personal favorite to devour but it was the same either way, the others were purple, white, and blue. The white colored one was Adelia, and vertigo was going to make sure that she was saved for last.
After sensing that Six was watching from afar, Vertigo raised a claw in his direction and retraced back as if pulling something. In turn, the reaction to this movement was a barrage of obsidian colored spikes coming from the wall towards Six. Now, vertigo didn't expect this petty attack to kill him, but at the least the lure the moron out and advising him that hiding won't do any good. "Fooo-lissssshhh....." Was all that came from vertigo. Turning around, it sensed something, and right with his turn he received fire. Adelias attack bounced off vertigo's chest, leaving a scorch mark on his black obsidian colored pex. The bolt of fire went up and hit the ceiling causing the flame to just simmer out.
Vertigo slowly approached the two girls it had attacked with a simple swipe of his bladed tail, a heavy breathing being heard from it. " Yourrrrrrr powweeerrrr isssssss mine!" It said said as it prepared it's tail to attempt a killing blow on the two girls at once. He was stopped tho, by derra.
"Your welcome. " The young vampire said with a innocent smile, hiding his true intentions. He listened to the girl about being new here and such. This was great news to Derra, freshmen were usually what he liked to try and go after but he never really had the chance to. " Well, if you'd like I cou-" He was stopped mid sentence to an ear shattering screech. Derra hadn't noticed when the P.A. had come on, or when the lights were flickering, but the screech had his attention. " Yea, i heard that too." He said as he quickly moved to the location of where he could of swore he saw something moving in the dark. Leaving the aisle, he saw Vertigo attack the two girls and then did some weird attack towards another student. "What in the hell?" He said seeing vertigo as he witnessed how the bolt of fire only left a scorch mark on him. In reaction to help out with whatever the hell that thing was, Derra stopped it from attacking the two girls by having tendrils come up from behind vertigo and grabbing hold of his tail and trying to pull it to the ground. Unfortunately, he was struggling as it was to hold the tail in place, trying to drag it to the ground was too much.

Adelia watched as the fire simmered out on the ceiling. As she thought about it, it probablly wasn't the best idea to use fire around so many books, however, it did do something. It enraged the creature even more! On the other hand, it got another student involved. He was trying to hold down the creature's tail, though it caused him great pain to do so.
The angel knew she had to do something else, but her magic was so new to her, that she really didn't know what the limits of her power were. "Well," she shrugged. "It sorta worked. I guess." Adelia tried to hit it again with more fire.

Ray kept her eyes trained on the two red eyes as Adelia refused her offer of a weapon. "alright, I hope your powers work then." Rays said as she righted her hands on the blade. 'Cause i think we are going to need it.' Ray thought as she heard movement from the creature. The sound of the obsidian spikes crashing, somewhere off in the library made Ray wonder why it did that. "no i'll be fine." Ray answered Adelia, the wound was kind of deep, but not enough to cause her too many problems. The fire from Adelia's attack was almost enough to see the creature, but it fizzled out to quickly. The Creature's voice caused Ray to position her blade to block what ever attack it was planning. She wouldn't know where to block until the tail blade got closer. When the strike didn't come, Ray saw this as an opportunity. "Delia move farther back from it." Ray said while quickly backing two rows away from the creature. "There's less of a chance of get us hit then." She wasn't really sure what she could do. Ray had no powers only her blade, claws and a transformation to give her wings would be suicide. She only knew how to hide and look scary, something told her that looking scary wouldn't help.
Six had still been trying to understand the creature when it threw the spikes his way. Moving at a fast pace away as the spikes shot up threw the area he was inhabiting just minutes before. 'Best move would be to go for his tail....' Six thought to himself as he slowed down to a walking pace. Until he quickly speed off to the side, not want to take the tail head on. He made his way indirectly towards the tail as the tendrils grabbed hold the creature's body. "perfect...." Six knew he couldn't miss this opportunity, since Six possibly take that tail down alone. He was strong enough to flip a werewolf, but not this thing. Six grabbed a hold of the base of the blade and attempted to move the tail in the direction the tendrils were trying to move it. "Jesus, This thing is heavy!"

Vertigo was starting to become aggravated with the situation. At first it seemed easy to it, come in, kill, maim, devour, empower. But, it seemed that these students were going to be an nusience to Vertigo's plans. IT could only imagine what the other split versions of it's self were up against. It wouldn't matter, as long as one student was devoured a night, vertigo would grow in strength and be able to do more splits of himself to spread around the school.
Feeling the force force of the tendrils, vertigo turned it's head, seeing Six come and pull it's tail, resulting in it falling to the ground and landing on it's back. IT laid there for a moment, eyes closed. After a second or two though it shot open it's eyes and let out another ear piercing shriek, Six being so close was going to be the most affected from it's screech. With a swift movement, vertigo jumped up and attempted to slam Six with it';s forearm in an attempt to hurt him. While at the same time, Vertigo looked towards derra's direction and used it's right arm to do a similar movement to what it had done earlier to Six. With the same outcome, Obsidian spikes came crashing through the floor and up towards derra, attempting to impale him. It failed of course, but at the least Vertigo got a pleasuring sound of impalement since the attack stabbed through derra's right foot.
Derra watched as Six came out and helped him bring down Vertigo to the floor. It didn't matter though, Vertigo broke free and threw him off with that Loud screech again. He shook his head till the ringing in his ears went away, but he noticed something was coming from underneath him. He quickly moved to get out of the way, but his right foot was caught by one of the smaller spikes and impaled it. "Argh!!!!! Son of a b***h!" He yelled out in pain.

Kumori watched as Derra took off then followed behind but stopped when she saw something attacking the other students. Clutching the book close to her chest she watched seeing that Derra could handle it himself. Stupid her left her weapons in her dorm room. wanting to yell out after him she kept quiet watching him with her deep yellow eyes.

malzaharin walked into the library hoping to find out more about the school and why it was taking in so many powerful individuals. as he looked down line after line of books he couldn't find anything. he checked under the history section and still couldn't find anything. he felt slightly upset and he probably looked like an idiot.
Tama then crawled out of his shirt in kitten form and sat on his shoulder " you know you could just ask for help right?" the brown kitten said as it watched him look through books.
he gently pet tama's head " yes i know, but nows not the time for that and id rather not bother anyone. " he kept looking through the books one after the other.

Adelia's ears prickled as another student yelled out in pain. Whatever it was, it was not going to give up easily. "Right," Delia said as she followed Ray's advice of moving back. The angel certainly didn't want that thing to get her again with it's tail. "You have any ideas for this thing? All I've got is fire, and we know how that's going," she asked the girl.

Even with the help of the tendrils, the creature was still heavy as hell. Six's trademark grin spread across his face as he felt the beast fall over. Six couldn't help but take in the scene of the down beast. Although he should really get out of there before it came to. No need to get himself wounded, he would rather fight in this fight. Six was about speed off, when the creature screamed. It caused him to cringe and place bot hands over his ears. The creatures next move took Six by surprise. The force of the slam caused the wind to be knocked out of him as it hit Six square in his torso. There was a definite crack from the impact, it was likely that he had broke one or two of his ribs. Six let out a yell of pain as he heard another do the same."God dammit." Six said loudly as he winced from the pain.
Ray's mind began to try and comprehend what to do next. She watched and felt as Six and the tendrils took down the creature. "I don't know, i'm not really a fighter." The sound of the two yells made Ray jump a little. "It seems that the best strategy would be to strike up close and personal, but that means we run the risk of getting injured faster." Ray didn't want to get up close to that thing, not when she couldn't defend herself with her wings.

Vertigo was pleased, very very pleased. All the students were easy targets, but where to start was the question. Should it continue with assualting the two girls then go for six, or maybe derra since he was already hurt. Ethier or, vertigo felt that it was in control. That was how it liked things. Looking around, it's eyes leaving a glow trail in the dark. It decided to continue with going after ray and Adelia. It wanted the easier prey first. So it continued to slowly walk towards the girls, it's tail rising up in itching anticipation for who it would strike at first. That was, until a loud crash disturbed the silence and a bullet big enough to leave a gapping hole in anybody collided with vertigo's chest. Now the impact itself only but pushed vertigo back, causing it's clawed feet to scrap against the floor until it stopped in it's place. Before that though, when the bullet hit it's target there was a large flash of bright white light. This flash Caused vertigo to let out another ear popping screech. And when the light was gone, vertigo was as well. It didn't kill it nor truly hurt it, but it did chase vertigo off.
The shot came from the second floor of the libary, a spot that Vertigo overlooked. The student that did it was Kyono, a mute that communicated with other students through telepathy. His weapon is an expermental military sniper rifle. The shot it's self is called a flash bang, just like the grenade which he usually has on him as well. The whole time, Kyono had observed that Vertigo could not be hurt by the students, not at least at this moment. To help out, he decided that maybe a flash bang shot would at least scare it off seeing as vertigo made all the lights go off when it attacked, hinting at the fact that it liked the dark. Picking the rifle up from the table he had set it up on, he looked at the students and asked if everyone was alright. Is everybody fine? He asked everyone, looking at the spot derra was. He was gone as well, the flash must of hurt his eyes and with the wound to his foot, it didn't seem like the best idea to stick around

Seeing that Derra left the library she nearly went into a gaze staring at the bookshelves before walking to an empty table, her hand griped gently onto the back of a chair pulling it out before sitting herself down. With a flick of a finger she opened the book her eyes strolling along the words on the pages.
