"Hey! Wait up!" Rin grabbed her school bag and followed the other two vocaloids. Her giant white hair ribbon bounced on top of her head with every step of the way. She looked about along the way home, trying to see if she could spot the area the commotion took place. It shouldn't be too hard, right?

Kai finally finished preparations for another supposed X-Series attack. He really wasn't about to take chances, then again, he never was that kind of guy. Of all the military-loids, it seemed like the E-Series had the hardest time adjusting to civilian life. Everyone else could adapt at various levels, but the Es? Not a chance. People stayed away from them, in case an E believed them to be hostile. Considering how emotional and expressive everyone else was, it wasn't hard for an E to think that the other person was a hostile unit.

The unfortunate reputation of Es generally protected them until now. Now, there was a hostile X on the loose. What ever they did to Kai, he wasn't having any of it. The military-loid had orders to stay put, and that was what he was doing to do, like a good little solider.

A tall, pale thin man exited the customs with two others. His dark hair was a messy from the numerous amount of times he ran his fingers through his hair out of stress. His dark grey eyes were heavy as if exhaustion clung onto them more than his framless glasses clung onto the bridge of his nose. He wore a dark shirt with a white jacket and plain loose jeans. At first glance, one could have mistaken him as some college student on tour.

Then there was the girl that followed him. Younger, lively and a slight bounce in her step. Her black smooth hair trailed after her as she attempted to catch up to the man's wider strides with her legs being limited by the calf-length tan colored pencil skirt and short heeled black boots. She wore a dark camisole under a dark blue summer jacket. In one hand, she clung to one of her carry-on bags that might as well pass for a purse. The other hand, was tugging on man's computer bag as if she was trying to make sure the former didn't let the thing slip off his shoulder.

Now, the third person was a returning -loid. Not a lot of people seem to have minded him, remembered him or bothered to even place a name to his face. The loid was a curious fellow, tall like the first man and was ghastly pale to the point where he looked like a ghost. His clothing was simply strange and rather asymmetrical but at the same time symmetrical. His general attire, the sleeveless hoodie, bondage-styled pants, and the long fingerless black gloves looked to be based on the Meltdown line of fashion. One side black, the other side white save for the gloves. The inside of his hoodie was a bright turquoise blue as well as the crossed belts that hung off his main belt and the X pattern on the darker side of his hoodie.

What was rather strange about him was not his clothes, but his face. Wide mouth with a semi-cheshire grin, unnatural eye coloration and an odd pattern tattooed above his left brow. His right eye was turquoise that rested on black instead of white. His left eye was white separated by thin borders of gray. Heterochroma was one thing but this -loid just took it to a new level of strange. Though, despite the glaring anomaly, no one gave a glance nor cared. . . . Or even noticed him.

"Xen, please don't-"

"I know, I know. . . I heard you the first thirty four times on the plane over. I'll see you later, Victor." He looked over to the girl and gave her a playful wink, "And you go have fun with your boyfriend, Renee."

"Damn it Xen!" The girl buried her face in Victor's jacket. Her ivory face, now red in embarrassment.

The loid could only laugh as he waved them off, "I'll see you around town."

Renee tilted her head as she leaned onto Victor's arm, "Masters?" She looked up at her cousin with a raised brow.

"They tend to say that when they first start. It's there as a reference guide for them in the case of a command hierarchy." Victor explained. He let one of them take his computer bag, "Shall we?"

Renee shrugged and followed Victor's lead. "So where is Rave and the others? Up to their eyes in work?"

"Stressing? Over me?" Renee asked, "Wonder what he's like now. . . It's been a while since we last seen each other in person." she mused to herself. "In any case, let's not keep him waiting."

((Argh, block. . . KAI! Do something!))

The military-loid still had a vacant expression on his face. He had kept himself busy with weapon inspection and maintenance. Well, they were mostly his weapons anyways. Still on guard, still on the defense, still on the edge as ever. Nothing much changed, though he honestly was disappointed with himself for failing once before.

"Thank you for having us over," Renee smiled back at Kaito. She looked around the house, "Hm, some of you guys I recognize. . . . Some I don't. New series?"

"Different objective for some of them." Victor looked over to Kaito, "How's Kai holding up?"

Renee blinked and raised her hand a little over her shoulder, as if to point backwards. "We just. . . . met an X-series on the plane. . . ." she started slowly. Poor girl didn't know if she should be concerned about the guy, he seemed pretty nice. Flirty, but nice.

"Renee, just because you met one doesn't mean all of them are safe. Xen was properly reconfigured and well maintained. Most of the others aren't so lucky. Same could be said for the other Military-loids unfortunately." Victor rubbed hie eyes, once again trying not to look tired. Man, it was long trip over. "Can you get Kai to the work table, I want to get a look at him and see if we can the rest of his systems working."

"In that case," Victor opened his computer bag and handed Kansas a data chip. "Anubis is in there. If I'm not alive in 30 minutes, go ahead and let him loose. He'll give you suggestions on what to do with Kai if he looks at the data."

Renee looked back at her cousin, "30? I think you need a few hours." She was definitely worried about him. The girl knew him and his habit of getting a lack of rest. It was a miracle that he was even still standing as he was.
