Class Two: Part TwoSo they were supposed to get together with partners next, to try out the stuff that they were shown. How to get out of a hold was the first thing that they were to be shown. Almost immdiently the women behind Ligeia lifted a hand up, giggled, and vollenteered to be the owl's partner. Ligeia looked over his shoulder and then flushed some when he found himself swept up not into a hold but instead into a hug. He blinked then his face got that much redder as she snuggled on him and squealed, "Can I keep you!" Were all humans but his father crazy? He was starting to think that they were look at his magic teachers after all... He shook his head then looked over to the teacher for help and he walked over to them, waving her off, "Come now, this class isn't for one student to molest another either. Especially someone half your age." That seemed to do the trick as the women took that as insult and huffed, as if she thought that the teacher was calling her old or something.
Ligeia was glad to get to go back to where he had been standing though he did feel a little bad for the woman, he really didn't want this, "Its ok, I don't want her getting in trouble just for a hug." He finally pipped up.
The teacher looked over at him then nodded, it would seem that Ligeia wanting to keep the lady out of trouble had taken all the steam out of him, he gave a smile, "Alright then. Shall we continue then with the lessons?"
Everyone in the class nodded and the woman gave a smile, reaching over to ruffle Ligeia's hair, "Such a sweetheart, thank you." She murmured then moved to partner up with the friend that she had come with, this gave Ligeia the chance to partner up with someone his own age. He looked around and then almost squeaked as he was all but tackle thid timea round, finding himself in the grasp of, "Lena?" He hadn't even noticed her, maybe it was because he had been instead looking for Jonas who was far more trouble in his mind then the girl was? It could have been...
"So will you be my partner this time? I promise I won't hug on your or anything." She squee'd, a lie since she already was but since Jonas wasn't around he nodded his head. He didn't much mind so long as there was nobody around that wanted to beat him up for it. They were soon going through all the same holds, breaks, and other defensive manuveurs that they were shown, a little harder on Lena's part to be the 'aggressor' since she was a little shorter then Ligeia and his wings were in her way. She did her best though and in turn Ligeia did his best to do as she was showed to get out of the various hold. He found himself stuck a couple times though, in one of them you were captured around the waist and you were supposed to elbow back then slid of of their grasp. his wings were in the way though so he ended up having to improvise and elbow back and slid up and out of the girls grasp by flapping his wings and pushing off the ground.
He also found that he was disrupting the class again as it seemed while he had the wings not everyone among the younger group of students had put two and two together that he could actually use them to fly. They were soon asking a bunch of questions of him that had him flushing brightly, casting an appologetic glance over at the teacher, "Alright, alright. Come on now. We don't have that much time left and I still have yet to teacher you the most important lesson that there is to be learned." The guy said, speaking loudly enough to get himself heard over the din of children's voices.
At his words Ligeia instantly looked over at him, the most important lesson? What was that? He had to know it then he would better be able to protect himself right? When it seemed he was no longer going to answer questions everyone else quieted down and turned to the teacher, waiting.
"This is the most important lesson that I will teach and the one that I want for you to remember the most. The best way to protect yourself is to never put yourself into a situation where your going to have too. Always walk with a friend, always let someone know where your going, dark alleys at night are a no-no, NEVER use them, well lit areas, its even a good idea to get a portable phone so that you always have help on your hand in case their is an emergency." He said, sounding quite imperitive and Ligeia was doing his best to memorize all of what he was saying. It was stuff that he was sure he could handle, back home he never went anywhere alone he always had Vorel with him. Sometimes though he went places the dragon wasn't allowed to go, like here at this school. Maybe he'd left himself open for trouble with Jonas because he was alone in a new place?
It made sense to him.
Soon enough they were allowed to mingle amongst themselves, talk for the last few minutes of the class and soon enough some parents came in to pick up their kids, murmuring to each other and their kids about a snake being in the hall. Ligeia's eyes went HUGE. A snake? Ter... no... it couldn't be him, why would he be waiting in the hall for the couple hours that this class had been? It made no sense to him. He wrote it off as just a coincidense, had to be some other snake and he headed out of the room when they were dismissed so that he could wait in front of the building for his father and brother.
*****
"Ligeia!" Came an excitable voice from behind him, making his head turn and he saw Lena coming running towards him, "Wow! Wasn't that a great class? Are you ok from the hug that lady gave you? She was saying how she wished she had some of your feathers that they would make nice jewelry she didn't steal any did she?"
Wow, she spoke really fast didn't she? And about a lot of stuff at once, "I am ok, all my feathers intact." He told her, unworried about the woman's hug though he did find himself opening and flapping his wings as if to make sure that his wing feathers were still all there. One never knew, she might be a really good sneak theif after all. Nope, all present and accounted for, "Thank you for being my partner today."
"Oh! Its no problem at all, wanted to be in the other class but I couldn't cause I didn't want for Jonas to get mad or to bother you, you know how guys are they can be so jealous." She couldn't be any older then him and yet she sounded as if she knew all about it when Ligeia had no real clue.
"Ummm... are they?" He asked, tilting his head to the side.
"MmmHmm. Once they think that they found a girl they like they get all stupid about it and growl at the other people that try to be friends with them. That is why I never actually agreed to go out with Jonas. Well that and I am far to young, not allowed to date until I am at least fourteen my Dad said. I think he is just trying to scare everyone else off until then."
Wow, Jonas seemed rather dedicated didn't he? He must really care for Lena if he were willing to wait so long to be able to date her. Was amazing really if you asked him, imagine having someone that loved you that much, he found himself for a moment getting rather dreamy about such a thing. Then shook his head. Why was he thinking about that? He didn't really have anyone that he liked that much at the moment, friends yes, potentialy something more then that... not really.
"What about you? Got someone lined up?" She asked, seeing the look in Ligeia's eyes.
"Naw, it sounds like a nice idea though. Maybe when I am older." When he found someone that interested him in that way?
"Never wanna rush love you know." She said, sounding all wise again, looking at Ligeia... then passed him. And screamed.
Ligeia gave a jolt, spinning around expecting the worst possible thing to be standing there behind them waiting to attack! ... and instead it was Ter his hands lifted up to cover his delicate ears and he gave the girl a dirty look as he lowered his hands and flicked his tongue out at her, "Its ok Lena, this is my brother Ter. Ter this is Lena from..."
"Your classsss." He hissed, crossing his arms.
"Ah! You mean you were the snake that was in the hall?" He squeaked, "Why were you there?" How embaressing, Ter was watching the class? All of it?
Ter merely gave a shrug, he must have missed something, it hadn't been a bad class so it couldn't be what had bothered Ligeia so much as the first time around, in fact today he seemed to be in quite the good mood. Yes, most certainly there was a differance between class a and class b. Ter was lucky though as said difference suddenly appeared before them. And loudly.
"Look at this, the cheating owl brought a new freak with him to class today."
Everyone turned to find Jonas walking towards them, staff resting over his shoulders as he had just gotten done with a class himself, "Lena you really shouldn't be hanging out with them, you might catch it."
Ligeia's good mood seemed to fizzle out and Ter instantly saw the boy as the problem he was searching for and flared up, giving Jonas a dark glare. The boy looked him over and slid the staff off of his shoulder, "Do you have a problem with me?" He asked, a moment before swinging. Staff met with coils, that instantly wrapped around it. It hurt, a lot but he didn't let on instead he masked the 'OW IT HURTS' that he wanted to say with a long hissssssssss. He then lunged, he knew better then to bite as much as he really, really wanted to and instead decided that his fists would work well enough for the job. A few punches into the 'punishment' he thought the kid deserved for whatever it had been that he had done to Ligeia to make him sad his brother was pulling him back.
Jonas was suffering a bloodied nose and the humiliation of getting beaten in front of his girlfriend-to-be while Ligeia was horribly embaressed over having Ter suddenly decide to be his bodyguard. This made absolutely no sense in to him as he was sure that Ter hated him... And then throw into the mix Lena who was fussing over Jonas and yelling at Ter and on top of that their father reappearing... Ligeia gave a sighing sound. They were sure to hear about it he thought as Orpheus caught hold of one of each of their hands and quickly led them off...
