xkillingsoftlyx MinachiTsukaru Still on the "Girls can't game" steryotype wave - In the summer before my 8th grade year (so long ago!), I went to a 3-week summer college course (Duke TIP - PM me if you've ever been there). As most smart kids are gamers, we had a Mario Kart (SNES) tournament. Aside from being the only girl in the tournament; no one expected me to even get past the first round (plus I play as DK - no one likes DK). It was a bit overwhelming. sweatdrop I did, of course, win the tournament with all balloons remaining. biggrin I hated some of the guys there. Not only did they judge me on my gender, but also on my age and choice of character! I'm not dissing gaming guys (on the contrary....), but it's those few self-centered, low-esteemed guys that can really bring the whole concept of 'multiplayer gaming' down around our ears. So, yeah, power to the girls who don't give a s**t about what the guys say. 3nodding Awesome. Power to us. I always play with Peach in almost every Mario game, like Tennis or Kart. XD I'm good with light characters. And guys tend to look down on me. One had the unfortunate event at making me change my char. from Zelda in Smash Bros. Melee (whom I usually play with) to one "normal" character. So I did, and still kicked his pixels into Mexico. biggrin I fully agree that a lot of gamer guys have really really low self esteems. Part of it is because they are traditionally part of the social class picked on by others. So their pride lies mainly in whatever they're into, be it video games, rp games, yu-gi-oh what have you. Any chance they can get to feel superior against others in this they'll take, including anyone they feel are outsiders looking in. Since girls typically don't play games as much as guys, this is the attitude they portray to any girl in their "territory" so to speak. If it's any consolation, I'm sorry they feel that way. I'm not one of them...in fact, having a girl play games with me is a major turn on, and I wish more girls I knew played games. If anything, it helps them understand me as a person. I totally support female gamers. I'm doing my part by introducing my younger cousins (age 7ish) to games, and giving them my full attention and encouragement. It helps. We have to break the stereotype now! *cheer*

I know you guys have probably already changed the topic a few dozen times, but I'm too lazy to read through the whole thing. Eh, it's the same with everyone, but just add the fact that they have to be into gaming, have a LAN cable, a decent enough computer, Playstation2, XBox, GameCube, and Dreamcast, along with FFI-FFXI, Starcraft: Broodwar, Warcraft III, and various other things. Quite simple in fact. Also, personally, I'd rather go out with a wimpy nice kid, than some buff, 'I'm better than...,' kind of guy. I forgot what it's called. It starts with an 'S' though...I think.

well first off , dont just go for the gamer girl quality ...you must have some ideas or thoughts on what else you want in a girl?
whatever they are , keep them in mind wink , you dont wanna end up going out with someone you dont really like or get along with .
ying and yang is great in all , but clashing isnt xd , also 2 of a kind isnt so great either ....you could clash again......relationships are tricky 3nodding .
hmmmm look for some attributes you find alluring , or that draws you to a girl , like maybe physical features : green/brown/blue eyes ...blonde/brown/bernet/streaked/short/wavy/spiky/straight hair..., whatever type of physique you like , stuff like that .
But dont forget personality wink , some chicks can be rude and just crude .....while some are nice , sexy , and dam hot! lol , finding someone who is considerate and not pushy is always good , but being too picky isnt good .......
but when you do find that special someone that you get along great with , its awesome!! and goodluck!! heart

I kinda fall under that area of i just want a woman who accepts me for who I am, and loves me for it. Now, it would be nice for that woman to also play games.
I do agree that sometimes guys do play as women on these things, HOWEVER, the probabilty that this guild was built by men posing as women and perpetuating that myth is astranomical. So, i do believe you gilrls, you're not just chicks, your gamerchicks, the few, the proud.
Anywho. Just my two cents

Actually, the number of girls playing video games has almost reached the number of boys. Granted, it's not so much with the online games, especially the MMOs and the MMORPGs. I've noticed that females tend to be less vocal WHEN playing games though. (You'd think my husband was watching football the way he plays -- neither of us like football though.)
There is a downside -- I didn't see my husband much until he finished Bounty Hunter and he has that problem with me whenever I get a new game.
Sometimes I wish there were more co-op games on the PS2.

I think that girl gamers probably like things like... well... Don't obsess over games, or her either. You have to find a girl you really like, and not just because or her video game liking qualitys, and then you have to go after her. Don't stalk her mind you, just, get to know her. And if destiny is kind, then she'll like you too.

I can sorta see the deal he's looking for. Although the rest are correct in saying that you should find someone in whom you're simple compatable with and of respect and sacrifice. In time, you'll find what you're looking for, wink
As for how I see it..I'll admit..yeah I'm a huge gamer, and well..I can say, I just want to be different. I'm the kinda girl that..well let's just say, my 3 loves aren't make-up, boys, and clothes..oooh no..I love my games, computer, music..oh ya, that's the life, 3nodding
Plus I have 'too' many hobbies..such as karate..sword fighting..horseback riding..dancing..singing..writing..traveling..my goodness it goes on..now would anyone want someone who kept herself so occupied over half the time?..ha..I'm not much of a site for sore eyes anyways, so props on my horrid looks, mrgreen

I'm still working on actually finding a real life gamer girl that exists here, in the real world. Charming and seducing her, well... ... Oh, I don't deny that you girls aren't gamers...I'm denying that you girls are girls. A lot of strange guys like to play as girls on the internet (probably to see their point of view) and a lot of girls like to play as guys on the internet (girls typically get a lot of attention from guys and thus acting as a guy avoids this unwanted attention.) A quick anecdote...I had a friend play as a girl character on an old text mud once. Anytime he'd ask for help, a TON of guys would rush up to help him out. It was always sweet and gentlemanly like. Wow! Now that's first rate service! More power to ya wink u i'm really offended now!!! scream
