Just as Xiu readied herself to strike out at the barrier, a fist came out of nowhere, slamming into her gut and successfully winding her. The baku squeezed her eyes shut and crumpled, clutching her stomach as she told herself to to try shaking it off and getting up. What if the one who had attacked her was a hunter? If she didn't move, then--
"Tybalt?"
She opened one eye and peered up at the boil, feeling herself relax a little. Aah, now she understood what had just happened. Letting out a weak laugh, she slowly pushed herself back up to her feet, wincing. "Don't worry about it! If it makes you feel better, that was a pretty impressive punch."
Slowly letting her arm drop from around her stomach, she turned back to eye the barrier, cursing the fact that it was so hard to hit. From what she could see, the students were hurting each other more than the barrier. Grimacing, Xiu stared at said barrier intently as she pulled her fist back and then swung it forward, her eyes brightening slightly when she felt her attack meet its target. Finally!

'Bix is Home', the voices confirmed, comfortable and unified, 'Bix is Home and so is Ceres and so will you be, you are all Home.'
This rang to each and every Hunter already touched by the Insanity. It felt right, they had always been there to protect each other, be there for each other-
- And everyone else had been in their way. As each Hunter protecting Ceres looked around, at the other Hunters and students, they could feel it, no, the feeling began to overwhelm them entirely, an agitation, a thick itch.
The others were trying to take away their Home.

-All Hunters siding with Ceres OR IF YOUR INSANITY IS OVER 70% (just Hunters): Welcome to the hivemind. ALL ATTACKS ARE REFRESHED FOR YOU. You feel the need to lash out, to protect, eliminate the threats around you before your Home is destroyed entirely. - you may pick any targets to attack up to three times this turn. Each time you attack you feel a little stronger....
By the time Tybalt hit Mort, there was only a pitiful whine from the black dog and nothing more.
This sucked.

The momentary excitement over having done so very well was deftly ended with a punch that the witch had not expected. A small noise of unhappiness was her reply, but instead of looking angrily at the black pup, she only pouted at him and flashed him a pair of pink, puppy dog eyes. It was as close to openly accepting his apology that she could muster at the moment. Naturally her attention was diverted back to Mort and the glow of energy through Thor. Her hands pulled back from him as he readied his attacks, hands that would hopefully one day no longer bear the mark of the plates and grooves in the zombie's metal arm. Still, Belladonna was focused enough that when the charge instead transferred to her, she was able to grit her teeth together and only whimper. That really, really JACKING HURT. Once more she spasmed with the electricity, a feeling she had hoped to have gone a longer duration between experiencing. "No, no its ok!" Belladonna managed as she bit down on her lip, anything to keep from making more hurt noises. "That was really good. You're still tired, its been a long day..." It went unspoken that he had gone through so very much, so the witch only managed one more smiled for him before she turned to find where she'd stashed her pumpkin pills.
Belladonna frowned at the ground as she fished out the pretty blue pill, popped it in her mouth and swallowed. Ugh... It tasted like... Like... Home? Quickly, as she could feel herself starting to loose it, could see little spots of gray begin to sprout up on her skin, the witch set about combating the Insanity that tried to crawl up her skin. It took far more concentration than she had anticipated, but after a few flashes of pink light, she felt back to normal. Which was... Not all that better, but still better than how she'd felt a few seconds before, or even minutes before when things had been so... So very, very bad. Unwilling to even consider what had once been, the witch returned a hand to Mort's hair. "You're doing marvelously, love."

It was obvious that the hunter was still angry, but what else could Jason say? Nothing else, because he couldn't say anything. Nothing would bring Bix back now.
Jason eventually sat up. He was being asked to attack the monster that was still standing. He grimaced at the thought. "If I attack it..then it'll end up like..." He shook his head at the thought. "No, I can't destroy it!"
Looking over to the group of hunters defending it, he shivered. Perhaps he should go and-
Zanthvos had remained silent for some time, but now he gave him a much better target. He knew the halloween students were trying to help the student inside, but the fog itself was a viable target. He felt much better aiming at them instead of anything else.
But as he came close, his sword in hand and swing the blade, He found his aim was off. So much off that he accidentally hit Jerry instead.
"J-jerry!" He said, immediately holding back his blade. "Are you okay?" He already sucked at healing, It wouldn't surprise him if he accidentally decapitated someones head as well.

Bix was home..? So he was safe? As was Ceres? A wave of relief hit the sun hunter as she loosed a small sigh. Protecting them.. it was the right thing for them to do. I..I can go home too..? Never before had she thought that possible, but somehow she knew it to be true. Yes we will. We will always be there for each other.
But the others.. those who dared to betray them, stand in their way.. destroy their home. Her gaze flickered to those who dared to attack and destroy everything she cared about. They had to be stopped! I won't allow it.

Ryan hadn't been sure how to answer Ariane's question. He didn't know if he made it home. He hoped he did. He hoped they would all go home. Fortunately, the voice was there to reassure him. To reassure all of them. They would all go home soon, back to where Bix and Ceres were already waiting.
But these people...
The moon trainee's fingers flexed, the clawed points extending.
These people who were supposed to be protecting their allies, they were trying to take it from them, to destroy it.
Traitors!
Was the single word that shot out to any and all who were currently connected to his mind. These hunters were traitors. They needed to get rid of them. To protect Ceres. To protect their home.
Maybe it was because he had threatened him before, or maybe it was because he was simply to close. But without any warning whatsoever, Ryan struck out at Lex, raking his claws over the hunters body.
"You betrayed us...!"

Being neutral seemed to have a benefit of some sort. Was he sad about Bix? Yes, but he wasn't going to let himself freak out about it. He could do that in the privacy of his own room, thanks. He had no attachment to the other person everyone seemed so keen to gather around. Oh, sure, he'd defend his fellow Hunter in a heartbeat but as far as he was concerned the point where they were a Hunter had long since past.
Long. Since. Past.
Jude drew himself up as he backed away from the seemingly fanatic grouping and set more toward observing them and their behavior for now. Should he act now or wait until they became a larger threat? Ariane was in the mix and who knows what else...
This was all going to end in tears...
Maybe if he could just hit some sense into her? He usually wasn't a big advocator for violence on women but this was a bit extreme and she needed to be helped. He could worry about the others later... One at a time. Instead of using his blades against her he swatted her rather hard across the a**.

So Bix was okay, he was safe, he was alive, he was Home. Home...they were all Home, weren't they? She let herself get wrapped up in these feelings of warmth, of protecting others and being protected...
Eva wanted to stay, but she could sense that there was something wrong. There was a threat--multiple threats, in fact. The girl's blue eyes were, at first, distant and confused as she glanced around in search of said threats, and then they suddenly narrowed upon falling on a certain man with long blond hair. She knew it--she could feel it. He wanted to take away their Home from them, didn't he?
Without even stopping to consider anything--including the fact that this was Jude, a dear friend--Eva's lips twisted into a deep scowl as she swung her weapon out at him.
Home home home, those two, the creatures that had erupted, he had heard their names whispered even if he hadn't recognized them.... Bix and Ceres were home.
Jealousy washed over the Sun Hunter as Jerry continued to blast wildly.
But with each fire, he felt better. There was a rhythm to it. A music of the battle field that rang with the chimes of blades clashing and the drums of blunt objects slamming down, punctuated by his blasts and a backdrop of screams and whispers and a growing chorus of home... home... beautiful, it was beautiful and he wanted more, he wanted to join those heavenly voices, join them in their loving embrace, be a piece that fit.
His lapse was suddenly cut short by a blade to his shoulder, his blast flying wild as he whipped around to face Jason, his expression contorted with rage...
The blast ripped forth without hesitation.

How could she keep calling him that? Why? He wasn't all there, sure, but he was close enough to hear the restrained whimper, see the creeping mass of gray being fought off by her own reserves as she swallowed a pill he didn't react fast enough to stop. Didn't all of this prove to her that he was a foregone conclusion, a nightmare put on pause for the amusement of the universe while they all spent their time trying to save someone else who would inevitably be taken away too? Didn't she know it would be easier to just let him go?
Prolonging this was only going to make the suffering worse when it happened. But again Mort was too exhausted to try and push the topic onto her, because he also knew the inevitable resistance he would meet there. This hellish limbo was systematically taking options away from him, made him more desperate and angry with himself - and more conflicted as well. He was ready to lash out at something, to regain a semblance of that confidence and power that haunted him from a different existence.
Perhaps Belladonna's attentions would have done more to ease him if Tybalt hadn't shown up. At the sight of the black dog and his accidental intrusions, something flared within the zomboil: another brief recollection of multiple sets of jaws tearing through his arm, getting at whatever they could, biting and tearing and maybe even consuming. And without warning he lurched away from the witch's grasp and bared his teeth at the black dog.
"Leave," he snarled, accompanied by a second growl as he fought to make Thor charge up without success. Why he had been angry before, he didn't know. Maybe this guy wasn't the one who had attacked him at all. But they shared the same black color, and Tybalt had the unfortunate luck of striking a student who, though no longer so mob-bossish, was still suffering from Insanity.

Ariane felt relieved when there seemed to be an answer to her question; Bix made it home... Even though they killed him, he made it home. She was no longer concerned with where 'home' was, or the fact that she was starting to get a splitting headache from the many voices in her head, drowning out Kintama's voice; all that mattered was the fact that they were going to go home together.
Hey guys, just a little bit more... Can you hear it too?
She was rudely snapped out of her thoughts by a swat across her butt, and she turned to face her attacker - only to find Jude.
"You too?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him; in that instant, she heard Ryan's thought, labeling everyone who are against them as traitors. For some reason, she couldn't help but agree as she retaliated, swing her weapon at the male, "What's wrong, Judy? Why don't you want to come home with us?"

Eva was happy to move aside when Ariane took part in the attack, giving the other girl an approving look. Yes, she understood it too, didn't she? She could feel it--that these people were all threats, traitors who were bent on taking away their Home from them.
With that in mind, Eva wasn't picky about who she attacked. When she had hit Jude, she had suddenly been filled with this strange sense of power, as if she had grown stronger. Intent on gaining more power--however much was necessary to protect what was important to her--she moved off in search of someone else to hit. Fortunately (for her), there was someone in range.
She said nothing as she suddenly slashed at the trainee with the bladed end of her staff.
He'd almost missed Eva's approaching form at least until she was upon him and thus attacking him. Great. She was gone. Just like Ariane seemed to be going. Instead of feeling betrayal he only glared at Eva, "Not now. Seriously. Not now."
Then an attack from Ariane made him grunt and he tilted his head toward her, "...No. I do not want to go home," the inkling was there, the urges but he could still fight it. Why couldn't anyone else fight it? "You're talking bullshit, all of you are," he was challenging Ariane to try and hit him again. He summoned his weapon again.
If she was going to be so far gone...
"Wake up, Ari! You don't follow others," he hissed as he made an honest attack against her.
