When I organized our Secret Santa even in the past, it was a rule that if you failed to deliver your gift, you wouldn't be allowed to participate the following year. Since I flaked on my edit last year, I won't be signing up this year. But I am trying to finish last years edit in time for this year.

I do not agree with that rule Judyfay! neutral it should be updated with the guilds well-being and i feel that what we may need, more than anything is participation.
Don't worry about previous failure and just try your best to do better this year. you would know if you wouldn't have the time, but don't allow yourself to be restricted if you know you want to join.
So this year if you know you won't make it on time, promise to give us a heads up. we have plenty willing to make extras to pick up the slack.

i hope i get someone who's going to actually give me something this year. sweatdrop i think if you join you should be certain that you're going to have your gift done or at least warn if it's going to be a bit late and say when you'll be able to do it.
