[A Deal With A Devil]

"Huh?"
Lucas gave Inferno a quizzical look. He thought Inferno muttered something but he wasn't quite sure if it was relevant to his plan. In actuality, Lucas didn't feel David's presence. He would remain in the dark on that one as he didn't have that close a bond with David anymore. They weren't as close as Lucas was with his Vanguards or even Inferno. Besides, Inferno was keeping most of Lucas' attention right now.

"No! You fool, don't be so reckless!"
Lucas' eyes widened when he saw Inferno aim his palm towards Cynthia. The Imperfect One lunged for Inferno to knock his arm up and avoid incinerating anyone within the rays's range. Lucas had no intention of killing Cynthia nor did he want to endanger his Vanguards. Inferno also wasn't one for subtlety. So after Lucas could redirect the beam the intense blast of energy would destroy a chunk of the cavern ceiling. Lucas was not too happy at this point. "I'm not going to let you kill her! Or be so careless around my team. They will handle Cynthia. Besides if anyone finds out any one of are down here we will have half of Heaven coming to greet us."

Lucas was starting to lose his patience- a thing the light-bending warrior rarely did! Things were going from bad to worse but he wouldn't get flustered about it now. Even though the Abyss had stinted his abilities he would try and meditate and focus on cleansing his connection with his element. At this rate though it would be a while before he could do much else than watch.

"Hm. Yes, I suppose that may cause problems. I hear we- ah, Lucas and his team are working to fix the issue. It's a shame you weren't able to see him before he departed. I see our King tends to keep favorable company with him." Aaron would smile kindly to Sabriel but something still seemed off. It would nearly be an aggravating feeling by now as it would have been bothering her this whole time. But then something rather surprising and unforeseen would have occurred that would cause Aaron to turn pale.

The room would rumble lightly, vibrating the windows and Aaron's desk loosely. The Seraph's face would become serious, his brow lowering as he looked down into the gaping hole before him. In a brief moment of clarity, Sabriel would feel a very familiar presence. Lucas' energy was weak but it was no doubt coming from below! Aaron would look up to Sabriel with a rather menacing, furious look now. His kindness and hospitality had been replaced with nothing but anger.
"Change of plans. You'll be meeting Lucas now."

Aaron raised his arm and clenched his fist, manipulating the sheet of magic below Sabriel and forming a sphere to imprison the Fairy. Angelic runes would burn into the transparent sphere as ancient, arcane energy sealed Sabriel within Aaron's grasp. The next thing to happen would be her and Aaron both would descend into the hole, the Seraph lowering both her and himself down to the source of Lucas' energy signal. "Looks like you keep some crafty company as well, Megalith. There's no way he should have escaped..." Aaron growled out as his wings twitched. If Sabriel tried to escape she would find her efforts violently repelled back to her.

"This Labyrinth is more trouble than it's worth. But I don't think we've gone this way yet..."

Frustrated, Grants turned another corner, sighing as he moved ahead. He wondered why anyone would ever need to build such a confounding maze. Although he supposed if any prisoners were to escape that they'd get just as lost as he and Arc were. However his assumption turned out to be right as he felt a draft coming from up ahead.
"Arc, I think we're free."

Grants would rush ahead, expecting Arc to be close behind. They'd step over crushed scorpions but Grants would not question why Scorpion guts were on the wall or why there were even so many creatures like this down there to begin with. But when the two exited the maze they would see a lake before them and several figures fighting around the other side of it. "Jackpot. Now-"

Before Grants could finish, a beam of energy would light up the cavern, blazing a red hot trail as it streaked into the cavern wall. The cave would rumble and Grants would draw his white bladed katana without hesitation. "This might get messy. But we need to detain these people. At this rate they may bring the entire Capital crashing down on our heads."

"You're a strange one. But I'm glad you chose the hard way of doing things! It's been a while since I've had some fun."

Walking out of the truck, Marcus' figure would be glossed over with a steel metallic coating, the same way his arm had done. This time his whole body would change, the light now glimmering off of Marcus' metallic body. Calm, green eyes would peer down at Phobo as he smacked a fist into his palm. Whoever was working in the area had ran off by now as they were warned to keep out of the way if someone tried to steal the cargo.

Marcus would now spring forward, his body lunged into the air with his fists raised high. He would slam them down over Phobos' skull to try and crush him and lay him out flat on the floor. It was clear that Marcus was not intimidated by the black aura or the needles but the move did seem reckless. However if Phobos wasn't able to block effectively or dodge he would find himself eating the floor rather suddenly and painfully.

Arc eyed the beam and killed the light he was producing with his blade, the choice was designed to dim the area around them, and hide them in the darkness. The iaido specialists eyes adjusted quickly to the darkness and he followed behind and to grant's right side. The area they had entered was a convergence with a larger domed ceiling then the surrounding tunnels. Sharp eyes and a quick mind detailed the environment they were walking into. One woman fought two a woman and a man, their fight seemed to be fairly stale mated. On the outside, two more men watched the fight, from one of them had come the energy beam which struck the wall and shook the caverns and probably all of heaven above.

Arc felt something off about the situation, as though the fight at present was four on one on two. Depending on the woman who was fighting the other two, tactically, the best situation might be created from making that fight three on two, first, too neutralize the current two active combatants. Before allowing himself to be sucked into the swirling chaos of melee he would touch grants on the shoulder and using a series of fairly clear gestures indicate they should probably help the outnumbered woman first to help their own odds.

His heart was racing. He was afraid; what possible reason could make Arc go to such extent, to bring him back? What did he have, that Arc needed? It was several minutes before his composure was restored, David resuming at least a fairly normal posture, though the magically controlled water had yet to disappear. He was hesitant to speak again, yet there was only one question to be asked. And no matter how hard he tried, he could not run from it.

"Why...?" He asked his former comrade, a simple enough question yet full of so very much. "What happened, in the time I was gone, that could have forced you to something so extreme?" He elaborated. He had been gone for a long time; even five years, for Heaven and Hell, was a substantial amount of time for change. "Is the state of things truly so sorry that releasing these Sins was a better alternative than my absence?" He could not help but wince at his own words. They would be painful to Arc, just as they were for himself. In a way, David, too, was to blame.

He shook his head. "... No, it's best you don't answer me. What's past is past, and there's no changing what has happened. It seems our choice is clear, though. I will bear as much responsibility in this as you; we must stop these Sins. If they truly are so fearsome that even you cannot handle them, then we may need help... I don't suppose you'd know where to find our mutually hot-headed friend?" He asked ruefully, a wistful smile on his face.

Sabriel Megalith

[ Sir Aaron's Office > The Hole ]

The pink tinge that flushed the fairy's cheeks quickly dissipated and she resumed her outwards composure which naturally came with an aura of someone who commanded attention.
Of course that all masked her inward need to start fidgeting.
How Aaron or anyone else in Yabbashael could stand this feeling of uneasiness was beyond her.
"As the Princess of Réimsi Sí and leader of the Megalith Assassins, I can understand exactly where he is coming from in his desire to keep favourable company with him."

Sabriel was about to smile sweetly at the Seraph when the room around her began to tremble.
The movement wasn't enough to knock her off her feet but it did catch her off her guard in such a way that her wings exploded into existence.
They fluttered rapidly into action lifting her a few inches off the ground making it appear that she was floating.
In the same instant her eyes widened as she was touched by a presence she could recognize that cleared away all of the uneasiness she was experiencing.
Lucas.
… Only… How did he get so weak… and why was did he feel so far below her?!

It wasn't until she focused on Aaron that she realized how deep in trouble she was.
Obviously her discomfort wasn't as unfounded as she thought.
Did Lucas know he had a traitor in control of what as far as she could tell was his most important city?
Flinging one hand out she wordlessly summoned her duffle bag to herself before the sphere Aaron summed around her could fully complete itself because there was no way she was leaving Faith and Honor behind.
Her brother would come back from the dead and kill her if she did.

First instinct after saving her daggers from abandonment was to throw some of the runes she'd learned from Drake on top of the angelic ruins burning in the sphere in front of her only for them to explode knocking her back against the other wall with a cry of pain.
Her duffle bag crashed into her left wing and her healers kit impacted her right one before bouncing off and landing on the floor only for her to follow, landing in a pile of limbs, wings and white fabric.
Shakily picking herself up off the floor of the sphere Sabriel thanked her stars that she'd never mastered Drake's ruins to their full potential.

"Heh, that was fun."
Testing her wings tentatively she winced. They hadn't weathered the blast as well as she'd hoped.
Looking about herself she realized that Aaron was lowering them both down the hole that had adorned the floor of his office and not in a fashion that she cared for.
If there was one thing she hated, it was being unable to control her own accent or decent. Part of the reason why she hated elevators and rarely visited some of the Megalith's more urban locations.
On the bright side they seemed to be getting closer to Lucas… Wherever he was down here.

Pushing formalities aside the little fairy decided that the Seraph had forgone his right to her being nice to him.
"No s**t Sherlock. I control the Megalith Assassins. Who did you expect me to associate with? Neanderthals?"
Running her hands around her waist a black belt formed adorned with different shaped pouches and two specially designed holsters at her side for her fans.
From her healers kit floated the weapons in question, fitting themselves into their designated places along with various other items that settled into the pouches.
Batman had his utility belt. She had hers. Only it served a different purpose.
Repeating her actions on her lower arms she formed black bracers to protect them and then again around each of her legs creating strapping over the top of her leggings half hidden by her skirt that included sheaths for Faith and Honor that she extracted from her duffle bag.
"And who shouldn't of escaped?"

Why? That was the one lone question that Arc didn't want to answer. Then came David's next question and Arc knew the answer and it wasn't an answer that he would want to give David. Then came his saving grace, David changed his mind and no longer wanted the answers to those questions. Of course Arc knew that these questions and others were sure to arise later from someone else, and he wouldn't have the option not to answer them then. "The last I heard of Dom, no Inferno, he and Raphael had been sealed away by Lucas and Oni."

Although they couldn't turn to The Prized Fighter for help, the forces of Heaven and Hell have already started to move against the Sins. Arc knew turning to Oni after what he had done would easily turn to a violent waste of time. "Speaking of Lucas and Oni they have joined together once more to try and stop the Sins. We may not have Inferno, but we could always make a journey to Heaven and seek out Lucas." Arc was going to do all he could to delay his confrontation with Oni for as long as possible.

Devil-Steel

"... I see." Lucas. David remembered the angel well. A reasonable man, and hopefully not one to allow for emotion to interfere with said reason. And above all, a powerful ally. But of all the places they could have gone, David feared Heaven the most. If he entered Hell, it was assured that he would likely be stopped, in force, and definitely be seen as an enemy. But at least I can look my enemies in the eye... he mused to himself. Heaven was, and would be, far more complicated. Especially if Cruxis was not yet forgotten. And it would not be.

The faux-angel grunted. Even being in that place made him feel wrong, a strange feeling wriggling in the pit of his stomach. And then there was their gazes, full of hatred or fear, for one of their kind, yet not. Though the pain of that had long since faded, the stinger remained firmly lodged, a constant reminder of his true origin and that wherever he went, there was no others of his kind in whom he could find hearth and solace. He sighed. "You seem reluctant to go to Hell. I will assume for good reason, then. This whole affair... should be finished as quickly as possible. If we must, then Heaven it is. But I do not expect us to simply enter the gates unnoticed, nor unhindered. I don't suppose you know where exactly Lucas would be in Heaven, would you? The longer spend looking for him, the more time spent... in an unsavory place."

"I know Oni, Hell's Ruler, well. We would spend more time fighting against him after he learns it was me that freed the beasts. Not knowing where to find Lucas is a problem, but we wouldn't waste as much time searching for him as we would trying to calm a feral animal." Of course Arc wasn't blind he would pick up on David's uneasy about heading to Heaven. Then it dawned on him, they needed all the help they could get but that didn't mean they had to go somewhere they didn't want to.

Arc sly smile would slide of the demons face as his steel crept up his body reforming his cloak and mask. "It's clear you don't want to head to Heaven, nor I to Hell. Why don't we split the work load then? Oni will learn of what I've done sooner or later, but if I'm not there we can gain his help quicker. I'll fight him when I see him, but the longer we put that off the better." Arc would move towards the angel a few feet as he cracked his neck. "I can head to Heaven alone, while you head to Hell. Just be sure not to kill any of the town’s people that might attack you. That wouldn't go over to well with the fur ball in charge. I can handle the angels, most of them are pushovers. But before we part ways I have a favor to ask of you, just in case I run into some of those that aren't pushovers."

The steel demon would wait and see what David though of his plan before continuing on with his proposal. If anyone could do what he had in mind it was the man before him, the only question was if he would be willing to do it.

David nodded. "Perhaps that is for the best, then. I will... do my best to avoid contact with anyone outside of Oni. But that is all I can promise." He said, though he wasn't paying much mind to his own words. He was perplexed by Arc's request; whatever it was, it seemed that he needed David's help. But he wouldn't have gone through all this trouble to bring him back, just for a favor. So it's not this, huh? He thought to himself. This was not the purpose for which Arc had so painstakingly tried to bring him back from the dead. But apparently important enough that he couldn't take care of it himself.

"Anyways, I'm a little hesitant to leave just yet. Who's to say he'll even listen to me, if he learns that we're working together? Moreover, I barely even know him. And circumstances as they are, even if Heaven and Hell are working together now, I highly doubt he'll listen to some angel who just strolls into his territory... Well, I suppose that's something I'll have to figure out." He flashed Arc a crooked smile. Despite all his reservations, he was actually relieved to be alone again. He and Arc had been allies, but he couldn't say that they had ever been particularly close. And he had been the leader of Cruxis. That, in and of itself, meant that he could not be cautious enough around this man. Especially if he found out about that.

"Depends on the favor, I guess." He finally responded to Arc's question. It obviously required something on his part, likely magical, since how else could he help Arc, without actually being there himself? David could only hope that whatever it was, the request was reasonable... at the very least.

"I guess I can't ask for more than that can I?" Arc would let out a small laugh as he sat down and looked up at the sky through the eyes of his mask. David did bring up a good point about Oni listening to someone he didn't know. Of course he didn't fear that David would be able to keep their cooperation a secret from Oni at least until they all met up once again. "Well you can always use a ruse to get him to listen to you. Tell him Lucas sent you to aid him. That should get you close enough to him to get talking at least." He knew that Oni wasn't the smartest person out there, but even he wouldn't suspect an angel would like about being there on business from the Ruler of Heaven.

"I know what Lucas is capable of, and if he doesn't believe that I am there to help there may be a fight. In a one on one I wouldn't be worried about fighting him, but taking on the Ruler of Heaven in Heaven is anything but a one on one. I was hoping you might have some sort of enchantment that you could place on me to increase my survivability." Of course what Arc had planned was a bit more than what he had just said. He had something he wanted to try out, and wasn't even quite sure it would work. But there was only one way to find out. "And don't get me wrong I'm not asking for some simple body enhancement enchantment. I was hoping you would be able to place an enchantment on something where most wouldn't be able to find it. I want you to enchant my soul and, if I'm right, my steel by extension." He wasn't even sure if this would work. It's not like something like this had ever been done before. It could be a giant waste of time and energy, but if everything went the way he wanted it to it would be an invaluable trump card

Figures. David could not say that he was entirely surprised at Arc's request. After all, it seemed their lives were governed by the battles they fought. So it was only natural that the favor he would ask of the master arcanist was nothing other than a way to make him stronger. And he was right--even if he could indeed fight Lucas to a stand still, or even overwhelm him, he would be deep within enemy territory. The former members of Cruxis were strong; immeasurably so. But to take on all the forces of Heaven or Hell? Had all four been together, and at their prime, they could not have accomplished such a feat. However, David was not entirely sure that Arc knew exactly what he was asking for. "I will not bother asking if you're sure, because I already know the answer. But this is a dangerous task, even for me, and you may scream for me to stop, but I will not, and cannot."

"Whatever you have in mind, keep it to yourself. And think only of it, for when I seize hold of your soul, all will be made clear. My magic will only be the power source; your spirit will shape it, as a smith to hot metal." Think of nothing else. David almost said, but if he had to tell Arc that, then his destruction was already assured. Drawing in a deep breath, he approached Arc, already deep in thought. He began to recant the process within his mind, going over each step carefully. He, too, could not afford to make a mistake, should the magic be his undoing. But he would be perfect, for he had not spent those five thousand years idly.

Crouching low to the ground, about arms length from his subject, David looked to the ground. The water in his hands slithered onto the ground, expanding and lengthening, until it formed a circle around both he and Arc. Tendrils of ice began to form as the water froze over, extending out rhythmically, as if controlled by a beating heart. Finally, the sign was complete. "Winterwind Complex...." He whispered, words he had not uttered for millenia. The ice flickered to live with eldritch light, colors swirling like the northern lights. The portal was open, funneling long stored energies into the two standing within it, ghostly green-blue wisps twisting around their bodies.

Standing up, he looked Arc in the eyes. "I hope you have prepared yourself." He said curtly, before without warning, plunging his fists into Arc's chest. Somehow made ethereal, his arms grabbed a hold of Arc's spirit, their souls colliding. Pulling unceremoniously upon, it seemed as if David were trying to remove it from him entirely; but no, he released only just a moment after, leaving a necrotic purple-green colored shell surrounding Arc's body, a visual manifestation of his now receptive soul. "Ready your mind, for that was a breeze, to the coming storm."

"The first: a rune of Power." The tip of his finger, glowing bright, as if ablaze, extended forth towards Arc's belly. He began to slowly carve shapes and lines into the purple oversoul, sparks shedding from each scratch. When it was complete, the runes flickered of their own accord, the floating energies of the Winterwind Complex attracted towards the runes, drawn towards Arc's core.

"The second: a rune of Shaping." David's finger now sought his chest, laying upon Arc's soul just above his heart. He did not work slowly, now, his arm like a blade slashing across Arc's torso, cutting precise and sharp shapes into it. "Hold whatever it is you desire in your mind, lest the spell become unwoven, and your soul with it." David gasped out, barely able to speak with the pure saturation of power currently surrounding him.

"The... last: a rune... of Domination." He struggled to get the words out, relieved as they finally fled his mouth. This time, all five fingers went to Arc's forehead. All shining with that same flame-like brilliance, David twisted his hand, forming a perfect circle, for this would be the center of the spell, from which everything else was derived. Drawing his hand back, David let out a heavy sigh of relief, seeing the final sigil shining bright.

Breathing in deeply, closing his eyes, David exhaled from his mouth, breathing with control. With the wind leaving his lungs, the Winterwind Complex shattered, the ice broken. The soul returned to its rightful place, and with it, the runes vanished. But they were very much there. "... Clever." David said quietly, knowing full well what it was that Arc had wanted, having peered into his soul. "Use it well, and use it wisely." Was all he could say. Despite how dire the situation had been, and how much concentration had been necessary, David did not seem at all phased, as if nothing had passed. In fact, it seemed he was ready to leave for Hell, his white wings spreading out around him. But he hesitated, perhaps waiting to see if Arc had anything left to say, before they departed.

Kira Skyra
Negi-Ukia

As Roy and Kira approached Oni in the arena, a disappointing look was upon Roy's face. He hated seeing meaningless death. If he had been there he would have convinced them to not charge so recklessly in harm's way. He knew Oni won't tolerate such actions and the punishment was severe. In some degree, Oni was a lot like Roy's father. It would be to no surprise considering they both served under Kikyo and both of them carried out wars, so many wars. Countless battles had made them who they are. Roy always wanted to see the better side of things. With Heaven and hell working together perhaps some day these ways of the warrior would change and true peace would be reached.

"Oni.." He said, not calling out but rather calm about it. "Oni, something happened to our mission. Did you know about janus' condition? Who he really was? And to make matters worse, we encountered someone capable of using chaos energy. He wore a cloak and had similar features to my father. Correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that you had defeated Cruxis. If so then who interrupted our mission? We both know how rare it is to come across one with the power of chaos energy. Fill me and Kira in on this. And is it possible to stop chaos energy?" asked Roy. He was filled with so many questions.

Roy stood there, keeping his boots away from the blood stained area around Oni. Before the "Fur ball" had a chance to respond, Negi had appeared in the arena. Roy personally didn't know Negi but had read up on him and heard much about the summoner. The ability to merge with spirits, an incredible power and highly resourceful. As much as Roy wanted to introduce himself it would seem Negi didn't even notice him nor Kira. Roy was too distracted by his own curiosity to let it bother him too much, He looked over to Kira, "By the way, I thought Janus was going to meet back up with us. I hope he is alright."
