[A Deal With A Devil]

Lucas glanced to Inferno, nodding before looking to Cynthia. "Yes. It's only been five years here. Hell has officially been declared allies with Heaven. It's ironic really...I feel like I can trust Oni more than my own kingdom."
The light-bending warrior looked down for a moment before taking a deep breath. His moment of self-doubt had come and gone. Perhaps this was the first time in all the years that Inferno and Lucas had known each other that the Fire-Demon would see Lucas second guess himself.

"Anyway. This little mess with Cynthia needs to end."
Lucas regained his confidence and took a step forward. It was time to put those team mission lessons to good use. Indeed, Lucas was starting to feel a power rivaling Rogziel's but there was still time to spare. Of course the team would have to act fast. "Wyndom, Raven! We've gone through this before. Remember our fight with Rogziel! This is exactly what we trained for!"

The Imperfect One would glance around the battlefield and noticed that if the fight escalated further that this underground lake could be their grave. Really, Lucas didn't need another lakeside grave. He already had one in Riverrun! "Raven! You'll need to get that ring on her. It will contain the corruption that's amplifying her power. Wyn! You'll have to cover Raven and Avery! Avery! Focus on creating an opening! With your power and Raven's speed, you should be able to break through her raw offense!"

Lucas would turn to Inferno again and smile. "You and I need to find a way out of here. I haven't recovered enough yet to assist my team but you and I can work off of each other's powers. We can probably melt a way through and get out of here."

Cynthia would be in for a rude surprise; Her armor jerked her right at Raven, faster than she would anticipate. So fast that Cynthia's fist overshot. She was incredibly strong, but Raven was incredibly fast. Raven shifted her concentration as she gracefully twirled away, her back half-turned to Cynthia. The momentum and power of the woman had not been lost to her, and she intended to use that enticing notion to her advantage. Raven stepped in behind Cynthia, easily falling into place behind her. Four brilliant beams of light had nearly completed their cycle, the fifth awaiting on Raven herself. With two twists, the ring slipped from her finger. Now her form had become blurry, as if rapidly vibrating.

< "Breaking my heart, Cynthia. Show me what a real Guardian can do. Stop trying to hit me and knock me off my feet!" >

Makenzie's explanation left Lissianna nibling her bottom lip with worry, she had asked her questions but it seemes Makenzie had danced around her words leaving her with even less information. She wanted to know what this book was, why did Makenzie seem so annoyed. Pushing off the wall, she wished she had kept on her trail leaving such a bothersome council woman on her own.

Why did the council need the book, what would they use it for? Lissianna pondered as she silently followed Makenzie, outside the wind was strong and had Lissianna clutching at her bookbag. "This wind would make it a good day to fly," she shouted to Makenzie!

Closing her eyes, the wind sweept her hair across her face, "Draco Corpus," Lissianna whispered the words under her breathe, she said them in a voice filled with longing and gentle kindness as she folded her hands together on her chest. A weak golden light eminated from beneathe them, but as she continued to whisper the words with more urgency the light grew brighter. The light itself was Lissianna's aura growing, expanding under the influence of the spell as the words created a change. Til it extended out of her cradled hands and completely engulfing Lissianna.

The strength of her aura lifted her off her feet, pulling her knees towards her chest as a golden filament started to glimmer all around, and as the glimmer hardened, it formed long elegant feathers. The muscular torso covered and stretched over the space Lissianna was inhabiting just moments before. It pulled her arms apart, creating thick muscular legs, tipped with white talons that were the size of a mans face. Her body stretched out and curved and utterly disappeared as a dragon seemed to flicker into existance. The last thing to form was the head, scales branching, shattering, creating more til tiny golden dust was glittering the air. The head was a heavy massive thing, two large golden antlers burst into existence, and down the snout two long whiskers the length of a mans leg. Along her neck, across her jugular was a thick mane of thin scaled barbs that flowed like a mane.

It will be faster this way. When the dragon spoke, it was with Lissianna's voice, but instead of being spoken by the tongue, it was instead to the mind. The large jaws of the dragon hung apart loosely, revealing pearly teeth, and a pink forked tongue that darted out of the mouth to taste the air. It's eyes were the pearl white of it's teeth and talons, except in the center was the black slit.

Reaching out her taloned palm Lissianna offered to carry Makenzie. Her other palm was tightly coiled around the bookbag, only the strap peeking through indicated something was trapped there. Moving forward, most of her body moved in a up and down motion, but the tail moved serpentine, side to side.

☦Cynthia Navetse☦

†Where there is charity and wisdom, there is neither fear nor ignorance.†

[Location: Underground lair]

☩ Even as Cynthia was accelerated forward and Raven began twirling to the side, Cynthia's left arm shot out to Raven's blind side, since her back was turned. An impromptu clothes-line was in place as the two warriors crossed paths in their deadly dance. Raven was moving swiftly, so the arm would be enough to literally knock her off her feet, even though that request had not yet come to pass. Cynthia would plow on through any resistance that Raven could muster, with the help of Raven's acceleration! If Raven managed to dodge somehow, Cynthia's body would swivel back to face her, a quick sweep of the room burned into her gaze in case some other person were attacking. If contact was made, Cynthia would take a little longer to investigate the battlefield with her darkened eyes to see what Wyndom and Avery were up to, her once laughing face turned grim. ☩

☩ Cynthia's aura continued to darken as the Corruption infected her soul - a stark contrast to the still-pure orange light of the Cross. ☩

"Hm."

Wyndom needed to get closer to the battle to assist in such a close-range fight. Cynthia only needed to get in a single blow to take an above-average opponent out...but so did Wyndom. All it took was one touch to send torrents of electricity juicing through your nerves system to paralyze anyone with a brain. Even if it was only for a few seconds, a moment...that was all that was required right now.

Wyndom advanced in on the group, circling around the Cross planted in the ground. If Avery had been knocked down or burned, Wyndom would make sure he didn't need assistance before continuing on. As he progressed, a small sphere of condensed air would begin forming in his left palm - his right still holding the stake. It required some focus to control one element in each hand, but that was why he went through all his training, to retain a better focus of himself and everything going on around him. Soon electricity would begin to ripple over the spheres surface as it grew to be the size of a baseball.

Raven danced away from Cynthia's initial strike, but the opponents body made it impossible for Wyndom to see the impeding danger that Raven was spinning into!

The ℜ 𝖊 𝖛 𝖊 𝖓 𝖆 𝖓 𝖙 Guardian
"And as the Ascended One danced into Heaven, the Revenant Guardian returned..."
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Yet again, Cynthia was dancing right into where she was needed, and Raven could not help but laugh. As the left arm ascended, ready to strike the Neohuman down, the swift speed of her right slammed into the chest plate as she twirled back around to face Cynthia, a powerful burst of Psychokinetic energy crushing a dent into Cynthia's ribs at a speed that thrust her off her feet and sent her skidding towards Wyndom.

< "I've had extensive access to you, Cynthia. Your moves are predictable." >

"She's yours, Wyndom. Jesta', Haa'zet mirth daat mii'zera ora Avery ezur Wyndom." In that instance, her voice had changed entirely. The lisp of her accent became far more pronounced as she spoke to the large Panther Daemon in their own native tongue, instructing her to cover between Avery and Wyndom. With the softest of yowls, the feline obeyed, stalking between the two men, one wrestling with the Cross, the other preparing to advance. Raven herself seemed to disappear and reappear in swift bursts, flanking Cynthia's left.

"Unless you want to be trapped in my shield, you may want to step outside the parameters of the Pentagram." Now Raven glanced to Lucas and Inferno, and the brilliant beams of light that were surrounding them. It still required a single beam left to complete the Talisman Shield, but Raven held off for as long as she could. She had invoked this long-forgotten ability if things spiraled out of control. The ring was smooth in her palm, slender and delicate. The same golden rings around the rims of her irises seemed to expand only a fraction of an inch. As an Ascended Guardian, Raven's mindsets were all synchronized. The slightest imbalance of corruption would stir Corvus. Would Seraph be able to tame the corruption in the place of his Gatekeeper? Even the burst of Psychokinetic energy momentarily scrambled her mind.

---

"Finalmente ci siamo incontrati." His Italian was flawless, and yet there was something mused, peppered with relief beneath the predatory growl that rumbled in his chest and off his lips. It was always that way when he spoke. Calmly, with an ever-present growl to each note, as if he were a beast in human form, always hungry and hunting. Wasn't he? Corvinus was warrior-born and bred; Italy was his home. Now he stared down at her. The short, tight dark curls that he gave up shaving away. His beard was neatly trimmed, framing the handsome features of his chin and jaw, framing his perpetually frowning lips. His gaze reeked of intensity--his eyes were so blue they were seemingly phosphorous and glowing. She hated it when he stared at her. Not because at first glance he looked cold-hearted and anger-filled. But that there was such an unabashed intensity of love and devotion to her that it seared anything he looked at, including herself. It was not idle and warm but sharp, intense--daring anyone to challenge him that one could love her more than he.

"If you knew what I was dealing with, you'd understand how sleep is both an amazing idea, and complicated to come by." There was a heaving sigh, and a soft rumble as he considered, "I have Alan tracking your archives and reporting to me regularly. If I cannot watch you in person, I will watch you from afar." "You forget who I am, and what I am capable of even when you are not here." Raven grinned in spite of herself as she gently reminded him that she too was a warrior. This time, Corvinus snorted indignantly, "And you forget that my existence is dedicated to your continual existence. Hai dato un senso alla mia vita. Senza di te la mia vita non ha senso."

There it was again. That unbearably painful sensation when he spoke. It would have maimed her if she did not fully return the sentiment and love. She grieved that he felt so compelled--almost as if trapped, serving her as if he were a puppet whose strings she could manipulate. If she told him to kill himself to prove he loved her he would fall so swiftly and compliantly to his blade that Angels would weep. It was not that he was foolish. He was always sure of himself, he could command as powerfully as obey. His mind was a Labyrinth of intelligence, cunning and tact. It was more or less that Raven was his light, his humanity personified, and he clung to that so dearly and tenaciously after being so long in the dark. He was a logical man, and she was all the emotion he had save for their stalwart love.

---

The ring of gold around her eyes would recede at this notion, and the world became less tilted as Raven refocused on what was going on around her. The Hyoujin had created an opening for Wyndom. His next move was critical to their success of ceasing all this non sense. Suddenly, the ring felt heavy in her hand, and the stress of their success suddenly seemed a part of a much larger picture. They truly needed this Virtue, or more of this corruption would spread again.

As Kira and Roy made their way to the front of the crowd Oni would come into view in the center of the arena with three others around him. Each of the three beings around him were hopefuls of rising up in the ranks of Hell's Army. Of course they had chosen the worst possible time to take Oni's challenge. All three would leap at the Ruler of Hell in unison, and in one fluid motion Oni would swing his scythe through the air cleaving each of them in half.

The summoner remained still as the bodies fell to the ground around him. Blood was pooled at his feet, far more than could have come from the three of them. And for as much blood was on the ground, it looked as if even more was covering his own body. "Send in the next ones." It was clear that Oni wasn't ready to stop, and who in Hell would even try to deny their ruler?

The two large doors on the other end of the arena would open and the clean-up crew would rush out to clear away the last combatant's as the receptionist stepped out. "I....I'm sorry m'lord. There aren't any more challengers." Fearing his wrath the receptionist would quickly bow and back out of the arena.

At this disappointing news Oni would only snarl as he caught sight of Kira and Roy, but his attention would quickly be pulled away from them to the flash of lightning in front of him. The summoner would only stare down at his brother unsure of what he wanted to do. In his current mood he just wanted to fight until the pain he felt was gone, but with what he had just done he couldn't bring himself to even look at his brother.

Oni would turn around and affix his scythe to his back as he motioned for the crowd to leave. "I thought you were with Lucas in Heaven brother. What has brought you back here?" It was clear something was on Oni's mind; normally he would have attacked Negi without a second though. He would never have turned away from him and walked away. Just what was going on?

Kira would move around and keep his hand over his nose, the scent of blood was incredibly strong within the arena this time around, as they began to weave and move in the crowd, Kira would spot Oni, crushing those who attempted to prove their strength, it was quite sickening for Kira to witness considering his life style.

Tapping roy on the shoulder he would point out Oni, and would headthat way to begin with. Once reaching the side of the arena Kira would shout out to get Oni's attention. "Yo furball! we got a problem, we need to talk with ya." Kira would wait where we was at until Roy spoke his mind if he did, otherwise he would wait for Oni to do something.

The fact the thunder cam into the arena was another surprising event that happened, and Kira could not help but whistle and comment on it. "Woah, what a way to join the party, Roy remind me to try that next time."

Phobos, the Ebon Sun
User Image

Quickly Phobos rotated himself to the right, dodging the simple swing. Next he pressed one of his feet on the steel crate, and kicked himself out of the truck, fighting in a small area would more likely than not prove to be a troublesome spot. Falling a short distance away, with Marcus still in sight, Phobos landed on his two legs bent with his hands on the ground, sitting as if he was animal.

"It now maybe in my best interest in seizing these crates. For I'm sure it would attract the eyes of someone in particular."

As he spoke, a black aura began to emanate from his body, as nine like blobs began to form behind him and mold into shape of a large brushy tail along with fox like ears atop of his head. It did not appear to be an illusion of sort, nor a simple makeshift aura, the tails and ears looked as real as can be. If he was to charge into a fight, it was best to do so when his powers were not suppressed.

"And I like to taste the blood of the men in this realm, are they capable beings or simply livestock?"

Standing up, a blacker aura began to form around his hands, seemly like he is charging an attack, but of what nature? And with a simple flick of his wrists, several needle like shadows appear in both his hands, slightly concealed behind the black aura, but it was obvious enough that they were there.

He was home. Or, at least, the closest thing that he could call home, anymore. So much had changed in his absence, that he found himself a stranger upon familiar paths. This place, at least, still preserved a shadow of what it had once been, as it existed in his memories. Was it all worth it? He wondered to himself, unsure to what he referred; did he regret his role in it all? Did he feel sorrow for leaving this place, mission unfinished? Or was it his destruction for which he mourned? Perhaps one, or the other. Maybe even all, or none. Though he looked at the crumbled tower, its foundations in ruins, walls scattered on the ground like some post-apocalyptic zen garden, he still saw its spire reach towards the skies, heard the cheering of the followers of a religion. His religion.

But it felt meaningless, now. What use had it been, to try and stop the war of heaven and hell? There would always be conflict. Even had they been victorious, something else would have arisen, and there would be war again, only this time with new names. He sighed, kicking at a stone--or was it a piece of rubble? He could not tell. He continued his walk towards the remains of the tower, feeling very much an old man, trapped in a body far too young.

"Still here, after all this time..." He couldn't help but feel nervous, his hand running along the cold wall, his eyes unable to see the barrier blocking his way. Perhaps the others had simply moved on, leaving this place as a testament to their strength. But he could not shake the feeling that this was not the reason. "One carefully guards their most precious secrets, that which they cherish most..." He mumbled to himself, mind swimming. This place was ruined, but he had the unshakable feeling that something remained behind. But what? And why?

Every fiber of his being screamed at him, telling him to flee. He was not safe here. Far too much time had passed; even if he met with one of his former allies, they would not be the same. And if they were, he was not. Clenching a fist and putting it to his chest, he doubled over in pain, his heart pounding against him like a hammer's blows against an anvil. Dropping to a knee, breathing heavily, the man shook his head several times, trying to banish the swirling darkness from the edges of his vision. He was afraid, and deathly so. But he had been gone so long... and he was alone. If there was even a chance that something remained, even just a memory of his companions, he had to know. He stepped through the wall, no longer as An of Cruxis but... David.

From the shadows of the ruined tower emerged a cloaked figure with two peircing yellow eyes. The cloaked being would take slow careful steps as it circled around David. "It can't be." There was an obvious tone of disbelief in the figures voice. "How are you here?! THEY KILLED YOU!" It was clear the figure knew who David was, but would David remember him after so long?

Standing up in the middle of the arena where he had just appeared in, Negi would look around and see the blood that had been spilled. He knew that this would be common especially because those who want to advance in the ranks needed to withstand some of his torture, but this was appalling. Did Oni do this out of rage or depression? He could not tell, but if what his spirits told him was true then that was the reason be hind Oni's rage. "I was in Heaven with Lucas, but something came up." It was hard for Negi to say what he really wanted to say, but he needed to know the truth. "The spirits told me something, and i want to confirm what had been said..."

When Oni would turn he knew something was wrong because normally he was trying to gut his brother. He would reach for his brothers shoulder. "Brother is it true?!" He would pull his brother to face him. He knew that by doing this either his brother was going to try and kill him, but he did not know how, or even if he was going to try at all. However he would be prepared to take what was about to come. He did not care for anyone else that was in the arena except his brother right now.

Devil-Steel

The man dropped to the ground, rolling to the side, so disturbed was he, by the sound of another's voice. Pushing off the ground with his hands, doing an about face, he turned to look upon his assailant. Water swirled around his body as he twisted, called forth from nothingness, then pooling in his hands as two azure orbs. Crouched low, it was clear that he could not recognize the cloaked figure; at least, his fear addled mind could not. His eyes were wide with panic, an emotion any who knew him would be unaccustomed to seeing.

As he stood there, staring at the man, a glimmer of recognition lit. "I...." His voice choked, lodged deeply within his trachea. Sera...No. "....Arc?" He had hoped to see a friendly face, but had not expected that he might actually meet one of his past allies. But far too much time had passed. He did not lower his guard, because the world had changed, and everything else with it. "... They... No... I caused my own demise." He smiled wryly. "I was turned into cosmic dust by the arcane energy I'd been so fascinated by, having lost control of it. But my mind was preserved, a formless consciousness floating in an alternate dimension, with nothing to look at but the stars and the void of space..." His eyes glazed over, remembering the all too recent past. "How I wish they had killed me, friend. That would have been a far less cruel fate... But no, I remained this way for five thousand years, stuck in the same time from which I left. And after all this time, my body finally reformed, called back into existence by my mind... And here I stand, before you."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 23, 2013 10:58 pm

As his friend rolled away from him and formed his two orbs of water Arc would remain still. He wouldn't move and would only listen to all his old friend had to say. While David spoke about his time as a bodiless mind, all that Arc had done in the name of trying to revive him played over in his mind.

As David finished speaking the cloak and mask that Arc wore would seem to melt and run down his body to his feet as a pool of liquid steel. Arc's trademark silver hair had been replaced by a vibrant red, a hair color he hadn't had since days long past. But the rest of the steel demon remained unchanged. "After Lucas and Oni sealed away Inferno and Raphael I stayed here. I kept the knowledge of Cruxis from the world, all the while trying to make heads or tails of anything I could find."

Arc would let out a small sigh, the pain in his eyes was clear. "For the lasts five thousand years I tried to decipher Raphael’s notes looking for some way to bring you back from the fate I thought you had suffered. I had not had any luck until recently. I discovered that the Seven Deadly Sins were not just vices of mankind, but actual entities that were born in Hell long ago and sealed away." Arc would take a moment to gather his thoughts on how to continue as he walked closer to the tower slamming his fist into it once close enough.

"My friend I fear I have made a grave mistake. In my desperation to revive you I freed the Sins and promised them that I would destroy the only items that could stop them if they were to help me. My plan was to sacrifice the Sins to revive you, but now that you are back I find my back to a wall. I can no longer sacrifice the Sins, and I cannot let them roam free. But I do not have the power to stop them alone." Arc would slam his fist into the tower once more as the situation flooded over him. He had freed the first evil strong enough to cause Heaven and Hell to ally together. Just what had he done?

While paying close attention to Lucas' vanguards attempting to come together to bring down a single enemy, Inferno picked up a life force. A life force that he has not sensed for over thousands of years. His eyes widen in shock, it couldn't be. But it was. "Impossible" he said under his breath. Maybe loud enough for Lucas to hear but if he could sense this signature then that that mean Lucas could as well? An old comrade of both Inferno and Light had return.

Inferno couldn't tell exactly where the signature's location was nor could he pin point it for sure. He could barely sense it but there was no mistake about it. He looked over towards Lucas to see if he could confirm it as well but if he couldn't then Inferno wouldn't mention anything about David to Lucas yet. "A way out? Allow me." Inferno held up his hand while curling his fingers summoning up a great amont of heat. Super heated plasma would compress in the form of a sphere. It looked like a small sun. He then extended his arm out towards Cynthia. "Let me show you the way out my friend." With that said, he'd released the energy in a grand display. It'd threaten burn a hole throw their enemy if she didn't move. It was as if Inferno was using a ray from the sun it's self. He'd melt an exit with ease.
